Youtube on iPhone 3G?

Does anyone have any idea whether or not the quality of the youtube videos streamed through the 3G network will look as crisp as they do on Wifi. Or will they just appear more pixilated and lower quality like on the EDGE network? Thanks

One thing that might help out.
Viewing youtube on a wifi connection is more clear than viewing on the edge network.
So the faster the network, the better the .h264 video format performs.
Hope this helps.

  • Can't post to YouTube from iPhone

I keep trying to send a video from my photo library to YouTube on my iPhone. It asks for a username and password. I put in the username and password for my google account and it says authorization failed, wrong username or password. When I go straight to YouTube and sign in, I have no problems. Any ideas?

    Zerimar,
It appears to use Javascript, not Java.
Make sure the Javascript option is turned on in Settings->Safari.

  • AirPlay YouTube from iPhone to AppleTV over LTE w/ No Hotspot

    The goal:
My goal is to AirPlay Youtube videos from the iPhone 6+ on iOS8.1 to the AppleTV v3 on 7.0.1 over LTE without using the iPhone as a Hotspot.
    The problem:
The problem is that streaming video from internet sources does not function. However, I can do AirPlay mirroring of browsing websites over LTE. I suspect that I am making a mistake in my network configuration OR that what I am attempting to do is not possible.
    The hardware:
To achieve my goal, I am using three hardware components: (1.) the iPhone 6+, (2.) the AppleTV v3, and (3.) a TP-LINK TL-WR702N Wireless N150 Travel Router.

What I am able to do:
Use the AppleTV remote APP on my iPhone to control the AppleTV.
Use AirPlay to stream music on my iPhone to the AppleTV.
Use AirPlay to stream video on my iPhone to the AppleTV.
Use AirPlay to do iPhone mirroring.
Browse the internet over LTE and mirror various webpages to the AppleTV.
Load the YouTube APP on the iPhone and mirror YouTube video search results to the AppleTV.
What I am NOT able to do:
Load video from YouTube and have it play over AirPlay.
The "loading spinner" is displayed on the television AppleTV and on the iPhone.
After a time, the video fails to load and this error message appears in the YouTube video placeholder on the iPhone "Playback error / Tap to retry." At the same time, this error message appear on the television: "An error occurred loading this content. Try again later."
If, while the video is loading, I switch AirPlay FROM the AppleTV TO the iPhone, the video loads fine and I can watch it on my iPhone.
Any suggestions or insights would be appreciated!

    Hey,
I'm using the exact same setup for my car, and am facing the exact issue.
I suspect the problem is from how YouTube app works. All the "What I am able to do" and "What I am NOT able to do" make me believe that when Airplay-ing a video with YouTube app on iPhone, it sends the url to Apple TV, asking Apple TV to download the video directly over its own network. With our network setup, the router is not connected to any internet source, resulting in endless spinner on screen.
I'm not sure if there's any workaround solution without turning on Hot Spot... please let me know if you found any.

  • Can't connect to YouTube via iPhone 4

Suddenly, I can't connect to YouTube any longer. My sign in info is gone and I can't sign back in because it won't connect to YouTube to even do that. I de-synced and resynced everything and it didn't help. Everything else on my iPhone 4 is working normally.

Okay, it seems that this has something to do with Google's new privacy policy. Go to google and sign in. Click the drop down list on the upper right hand corner and click account. Then go to security. Now you click on authorization for apps and sites. Now you can generate a 16 digit code and write it down. Name it for your specific item but first delete any entries for previous ones for the same item eg iphone/youtube. Now go to your iphone and use your primary google email for the username and the 16 digit code for password (include the spaces.) Now you should be able to log in and the next time you log in you might have to do it again and after that you can log in the way you do for youtube.

  • Can't Watch YouTube on iPhone 3G while using WiFi?

Ever since I got my iPhone 3G I cant watch any YouTube videos while connected to WiFi - it always says "This movie cannot be played". However while connected to Edge / 3G it works fine. It worked just fine on my old iPhone. Is there anyway to fix this?

The iPhone doesn't have flash (hopefully that will be one of the apps that releases with the SDK). [sad too, since we wouldn't need it as much especially if the YouTube app allowed comments]
I also remember that the YouTube application might not be able to play every single YouTube video. It will play pretty much all of them, however. Just keep spamming that button (when it says error loading movie, it goes to the movie info screen where you just tap the movie again to play)...if it still doesn't work, then you're out of luck.

  • Why iOS 6 have no YouTube for iPhone

    Es

Google has made a YouTube app for the iPhone which has the same functionality as the former YouTube iOS app.  You can find it in the app store.

  • Cannot log into YouTube native iPhone app

I have an existing YouTube account, and am able to log into that account via the YouTube website (in Safari and other browsers).
Before upgrading my iPhone 3GS to 3.0.1, I was logged into that same YouTube account via the native iPhone YouTube app. I signed in using the "sign in" button in the upper left corner of the interface.
Since upgrading to 3.0.1, I was no longer logged into YouTube in the app. I am prompted to reenter my YouTube credentials. I enter in the very same username and password that I use on YouTube proper -- those credentials haven't changed since long before I owned an iPhone. For what it's worth, the password only contains characters from a-Z and/or 0-9
When I enter my YouTube credentials on the iPhone, I receive this error: "Authentication Failed. Sorry, your login was incorrect".
I have restored my iPhone and it doesn't fix the problem.

FIXED IT!!! I found this solution on the youtube.com message board.
I have a gmail acct. I went to youtube.com under settings and changed my email address sp that I could link my YT acct to my google acct. Once it was linked, I signed in on my iphone app with just my gmail user name and password. It worked, but what I said in my previous post is no longer true. You tube got wise and the videos they removed no longer work on the phone. I swear they used to. I watched the whole twilight movie last year 10 minutes at a time on my phone from video that had been removed and was unavailable on the full computer site.
This didn't work for me. I have 2 Google accounts. Tried tying them both to my YouTube account. Neither allows me to login on the iPhone app. Anybody else having success with this method?

    Why would it suddenly stop,

    Update:
More things seam to be not working now, email is incredible slow to connect and update, and sometimes cannot connect to the mobile me mail server. This may be unrelated . . i duno,
But youtube is useless, i see the list of videos, but if i click on one, it just wont load and displays the above mentioned errors.

  • YouTube on iPhone not working?!?!?!

I keep trying to use YouTube on my iPhone (brand new, 3G, just got it a few hours ago) and whenever I try to play a video, it sort of "skips" and plays the first second, stops, plays the next second or two, then stops again and takes me back to the main YouTube page. So agggggraavvvated! I've tried a bunch of different videos, they all do this. All other wireless aspects of the phone are working fine.

If you have a distributed network, such as multiple Airport base stations, you may have problems with the network connection speed. If so try turning all but your main base station and see whether connection speed improves. It may also be an issue with interference with a cordless phone. Try choosing a different channel for your wifi.

  • Viewing HD iMovies posted on Youtube with iPhone/Ipad

Submitted a 4 min. video to youtube put together on iMovie.  When I uploaded, I specified the 720 format so it could be in HD but also play on Iphones and iPads.  Why won't the video play on the iphone and iPad (just on desktops/notebooks)?

I would like to mention also, both my apple TVs have the latest firmware.
The updates are set to automatic.

  • Apple Tv does not work with youtube and movies on iphone or ipad

I am on my 2nd generation apple TV. Always worked with Youtube, my iphones and ipads and Netflix.
I think it started about a month ago.  I can only use Netflix.
If I try YouTube and select a video (even if small) it just keep spinning and never starts.
The same thing happens with my video from iphone 5S, 5, and ipad 2.
Than I went to my sons house with a Apple TV 3rd generation and different wifi,
same thing happens, I can not show a video from my iPhone 5S.
What is going on, did Apple TV change something?
Is this a update that went wrong?
(I have auto update and also checked manually to make sure have latest apple TV FW)
(All iphone and ipads are latest FW).

    Hi pcorsaro,
You may need to restore your Apple TV and see if the issue is resolved after that process:

  • 'YouTube not available' error for my abos

    Hi,
I have some abos at youtube. Those are created at my PC. When I start the youtube app and change to my abos there, I get the correct list of all of my abos, but when I try to click on one of them, I just get the 'youtube not available' message.
Like one of twenty abos is working, for the rest I get the error message. On my PC they are working fine.
    Any idea?

    What else can I do?
    Don't use Youtube.
    It is Youtube not iPhone.
Youtube is very buggy (The most famous bug is the inability to post a text comment).
    These work better.
