When I try to see YouTube, I am told that the server is not correctly configured. A pc on the same wifi network has no problems. What am I doing wrong?

Encoding at 16:9 for Youtube questions

I have some 16:9 video that I want to encode for Youtube. As far as I know, 640x360 is a 16:9 format and is around the size I think I want to use. I am noticing that other videos on Youtube are allowing you to embed them at sizes of 640x385.
1.) Is this really just a 640x360 video plus the video controls resulting in a 640x385 size?
2.) What would be the next size smaller than 640x360 that maintains the same ratio?

Best Video Size for YouTube

I know YouTube says to post videos at 320x240 but they upscale the image so the videos do not play at 320x240. I have a question into YouTube but they may take days to respond. I've searched through many YouTube questions here and found different information.
My question is what is the playback size for the videos on YouTube? I want to make my videos the same size so they won't be upscaled, thus quality lost.
I've read here that YouTube plays back at 425x350 while another says 450x357. Anyone know?

Secondly, in playing with these presets, I disagree about the de-interlacing not taking any extra time. In my tests, your SD preset said it was going to take four hours to finish a five minute clip of mine.... disabling the de-interlacing, it jumps to four minutes to complete. I will do both and see how much visual difference there is, but that is substantial for me! (sixty times as long)
Any who, I am running some different tests... will let you know once I have some results of my own.

My "Most Viewed" Youtube videos is only showing 4 videos.

I have the update 4.3.2, I can't update it because my network always times out.
Basically, when I press the "YouTube" app, and then "Most Viewed" it only shows 4 videos. It only started today.

For timed out, try disabling your computer's security software during the download and update.

I know this is more of a YouTube question, but I can't find the answer for it anywhere! I compress my video and it looks fine, I upload it to YouTube and YT cuts off the last few frames of my video! My video has to be 60 seconds exactly, and the last few frames are important. I don't know what the problem is or what to do about it.
Has anyone else had this problem? Should I just try to re-cut the video to fit the YouTube cut off???

That would be a YouTube question not an iMovie question.
Also this is the forum for iOS (iPads and iPhones).
I can give you one solution though.
Publish to You Tube and choose the "unlisted" option.
This way it can only be videwed by people who have the link.
You get given the link once it is published.

How to use canon a590is produced videos in imovie

i capture videos on my canon a590is camera. it captures avi clips. then i download these videos using image capture. that downloads everything from the SD card - images and videos. images i load in aperture. for videos, i would like to put them into imovie and share through iTunes and to youtube.
question is: how do i import the videos that are in a folder now into imovie? what settings are ideal - how do i ensure that i have only one copy of the media content. can i control the location where that media sits - even though i want to produce the movie using imovie 09. questions questions.

Hi Hatter08 - welcome to the forum! As QuickTimeKirk explained, your camera records in MPEG2 format. If you are wishing to do a lot of editing projects with iMovie HD you would be advised to return your new cam, and switch to a tape-based DV camcorder. DV is the native format for iMovie HD, and is a much better editing format than MPEG which is designed more for viewing than editing.

Flash Player on the Touch's Safari Browser?

I'm I right in assuming that the Safari browser on the (16GB) iPod Touch does not support Flash, as so far any attempts to use Flash programs like YouTube (not through the dedicated browser) and other video streaming applications have not worked. If it does support it, how do I go about installing it? Thanks
Another slightly related question: when I use the dedicated YouTube browser I keep finding that it crashes a lot, and when it doesn't crash it takes an awful long time to load and is very slow to respond to the video controls. Is this how it is meant to be or is there another reason behind this. Thanks again.

There is currently no Flash player for the Touch. There is no way to install anything that will enable it. Whether there ever will is beyond the scope of my crystal ball.
Can't answer the YouTube question as I've never had that problem.

Low battery charge life?

I bought an iPhone4 a couple of weeks ago and though obviously busy on it initially I recently noticed, with more 'normal' use, how quickly the battery runs down. As a test I've had wi-fi/networks off for a couple of days and generally it's 'sleeping' a lot but, for example, it"s lost 35% of its charge in 6 hours since fully charged.
What should the 'average' charge life be? Surely more than that?
Oh, and I see no-one has any ideas about my Youtube question in this topics list...?

It all depends on what you do on your iphone during those 6 hours. But it sounds about right. None of the 4 gen iphones I've owned have been able to keep a charge for an entire day without having to recharge it at work or in my car. I do use it for everything- music, games, surf the net, etc... It's a downside to all smart phones and the iphone is not an exception.

Satellite A665-S6080 Shuts Down During Flash Videos

I have a Satellite A665-S6080 laptop with Windows 7 64x which I've had for 3 years now. For a year now it will shut down when I am using a video converter program ie: Leavino Video Converter, Win AVI All In One. I would take a video I have on my computer and try to convert it to another format and about 10 minutes in the converting stage, my laptop will just shut down. It doesn't matter what converting software I use, It will shut down. If the video is small (under 500 MB) I might not shut down. I've tried to convert 1.5 GB video and my laptop would shut down. If I play flash videos online it might shut down as well. Also when I play Candy Crush online it has shut down as well.
I've heard people mention that the problem could be a bad power switch, however, my problem seems to be video related. Has anyone had this problem like mine? Any suggestions on fixing the problem? Thanks.

Video converting is very hardware intensive and your laptop can get to hot and shut down.
Do you use a cooling pad and does your vents and fan need cleaned? I ask that because you stated that it has only shut down for the last year and mainly when converting video files.(flash issue already noted above)

I don't use that app. I just go to the web based site. You can share videos from the site, but not from the app, as far as I have been able to do. Try the web based version and see if you get the same error. Go through Safari is what I mean.

Question re iMovie clip that I put on my Website via a YouTube window

Hi, this may or may not be a question for this particular forum but, in case someone can help me -- I have a video on my website via an embedded YouTube window. The window gives the user two ways to Play the video: the little arrow at the left corner of the scrollbar along the bottom of the window, and (this is the problem) a large white arrow smack in the center of the video window. The latter takes the user to the YouTube site to see the video, whereas the little scrollbar arrow keeps the user watching the video on my website page.
Is there a way to remove the center arrow one that leads to YouTube? I want to keep users on my site/page.

after uploading a video to youtube.com, it gives you the following code (hopefully, the forum's software doesn't try to interpret the following...):

Make sure your system software is up to date.
Click the Apple  menu (top left in your screen) then click: Software Update ...
And try troubleshooting Flash. Uninstall then reinstall.
