YouTube app in ios7 no longer displays results. Have updated to 7.0.3 and still no success. YouTube plays videos from categories but I can no longer search for anything at all.

Do you have a window specifically for CHM files? Beware your window characteristics are taken from your default single source layout, so if you have that set as WebHelp Pro and use it when compiling a CHM you are likely to get odd results. You'll need to change the default SSL to MS HTML Help, create the new window and (if you want) reset the default SSL back to WebHelp Pro.

Search stopped working in AIR

Hello,
It's me again. Sorry, but I am still poking around with RH 8 and AIR and trying to learn everything. I just inserted a second pdf into my project and installed the AIR output. However, the search is no longer working (was working before this pdf was embedded). I read around in this forum and found the following thread (http://forums.adobe.com/message/2284312#2284312). It indicated that the problem was with an error in the person's pdf file. How in the world did they find this error? I'm not sure how to check a pdf to make sure it is okay. Is this the reason people think the search stopped working for me as well?

Unfortunately the AIR output is something reasonably new to all of us. As a result, there really isn't a good base of knowledge out there with regards to it. So in one sense, you are somewhat navigating uncharted territory. Many of us have no clue what to suggest. When issues have emerged, largely it's been the Adobe RoboHelp Engineers that have provided the solutions.
In your case, it might be that the PDF you were adding has issues. Or, it could be something as simple as the AIR output only allowing ONE PDF to be inserted. I would think that would be easy to sort. Try removing the PDF where search is working. Add the other and compile. Does search break or continue to work?
If it breaks, likely it's got something to do with the PDF.
If it continues to work, likely it's got something to do with AIR not liking multiple PDFs.
If you don't mind, I'm going to move the posts that are AIR related into the AIRHelp forum category.

42SL417U Youtube app stopped working

Greetings, A few days ago, the Youtube app stopped working. The logo comes up, but the progress bar that normally shows loading progress never starts. I have tried unplugging the TV for several hours, but that's about it. Are there any other steps I should take? Netflix appears to work fine. Thanks.

Same exact thing happened to my TV (same model as yours) at the same time it happened to you. And YouTube still does not work. I was hoping it was an issue with YouTube that they would fix, but it's been three weeks and nothing has changed, nor can I find any answer as to why this happened. It's a real bummer, because I used the YouTube app on the TV all the time.

2. Swipe the app's preview up to close it.

Spotlight Search stopped working on my 4s

Spotlight Search stopped working on my iPhone 4s. Apple replaced my 4s 2 days ago and now spotlight search has stopped working on the 2nd 4s. The Apple techs are stumped, any ideas?

finally I found someone having the same problems
I have an iPhone 4S 32 GB (germany, T-Mobile).
I have all my mails and contacts via my work MS Exchange Server.
My first iPhone 4S stopped searching after a while - it only shows 1 out of 10 search attempts.
I walked to the Apple Store and they gave me a new one.
Also the second one stopped doing any search 1 or two days later.
So, disactiveted the search in my mails, my contact etc..
...but it doesn´t bring ANYTHING on the screen while typing.
Today, I´ve been to the Apple Store again and the guy just sent me home - they can´t do anything
Guys, this *****. I managed to use the iPhone at work instead of my Blackberry and now all other colleagues are buying iPhones, but if this is not going to work I´ll have a big problem.
Any ideas here? What can I do?

Embedded videos and youtube videos stopped working since last update. Any clues

All video functions on my IMac have stopped working since updates on Saturday. Videos embedded in web page and on youtube have stopped working.

Assuming you are using Safari ...
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
Back to Safari. Press Command + Option + E to empty the Safari cache.
Quit and relaunch Safari, try a video.

My Youtube videos stopped working on my iphone 5s. I have the latest updates on the phone and deleted and reinstalled the Youtube app. Didn't work.

I had major issues using VPN passthrough with PPTP on the RV180W through a PPPoE internet connection. In the end I gave up - I think there are some PPTP servers that the RV180 just has trouble with. I had no problems with 3 other routers straight out the box. Unfortunately I lost access to the VPN server before Cisco could fix.

Its interesting that it used to work and now doesn't - maybe Verizon or the VPN server have had configuration changes? Or maybe your antivirus has created a different profile for the different router - would be worth temporarily disabling any firewal/antivirus?
It would be good to try a different non-Verizon router if you can get your hands on one to see if Verizon network changes now require special features/settings on the router.

Youtube movies stops working

Hi guys,
I've searched the forum without luck. Although I bet that I'm not the only one with this problem.
So, I've had this problem since I first got my Macbook Pro back in early June this year (a couple of weeks before the new one was released) so I don't think that I've done anything to cause this. The thing is that when I watch a Youtube-video it sometimes just stops working. It happens when I have watched for a bit, so obviously my MBP realizes that it's a video but for some reason it just stops. Sometimes the screen goes green and the video length is shortened to 3 seconds as it automatically fast-forwards to the end...
What is this? I'm running Safari 6.0 with OSX Lion. I don't get it, the videos always starts fine but after a bit they stop working.
Please help me!! And I'm very sorry if I'm posting something a question that you guys already have answered, but hey, I'm new to this!

Most YouTube video requries the Flash plugin. Uninstall old then reinstall new...
Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Very important to uninstall the currently installed plugin first.
Then reinstall new from here > http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Then quit and relaunch Safari.
Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

The "My Ebay" page and the AT&T yahoo changed suddenly and some features are non operative. Also the Google instant search stopped working. All this is happening on Firefox. Everything displays and works correctly on IE. What could be wrong?

Hi, On thursday evening I closed all open windows to do some virus scanning and window washer maintenance. After I was finished I opened up firefox and went back on Ebay and the "My Ebay" window has changed to a totally different appearance and I can't access messages, etc. My AT&T Yahoo email window has also changed its appearance and has selections on it which are new and non operative. They both are now presented as a vertical format and the "My Ebay" window is expanded off the monitor with a blue sliding bar on the bottom and large white areas in the viewing area. I can shrink it down, but I then need a magnifying glass to read it. The opening Ebay sign in window is normal. The opening AT&T sign in window is normal. Also the Google instant search results, which used to appear when I was typing in my search words, has also stopped working. Everything seems to work properly on Internet Explorer. When I double click on the Mozilla icon it takes me to the Mozilla start page and shows me the Google search bar. That is what I normally see. I'm baffled.

(1) Firefox's built-in post-crash page has not been a real HTML page for a long time (for example, from the time of Firefox 22, see: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/968212 Want to save LOTS of versions of "Restore Session.xht" from the "oops ..." page for later use]). If you had this working differently with Firefox 25, that might have been created by an extension.
You can check to see whether extensions are disabled or need an update on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. The disabled extensions cluster toward the bottom of the list. To poll for updates, use the "gear" button above the list and choose Check for Updates.
If you used the Reset feature (or Firefox automatically did a reset due to some problem during upgrading), you will need to reinstall missing extensions. The reset feature creates a folder on the desktop named Old Firefox Data. Do you have that folder? There may be data you can recover from it.
(2) There are many ways for history to get cleared, both internal to Firefox and external. Could you double-check your Privacy settings?

Firefox normally accumulates months of history. However, some of Firefox's database sizes are based on disk space available. If your hard drive is very full, Firefox might reduce the amount of history stored.

Search stopped working in CHMs compiled using RH 8.0.2

Today I noticed that the Search functionality had stopped working in CHMs that I recently compiled using RH 8.0.2. I'm sure they were all working pretty recently but can't say exactly when it stopped working.
As a test, I created a test HTML Help project with default settings, and wrote three short topics. When I compiled it, there was not even a search button/tab, nor were there any others, even though Contents, Index, Search, and Glossary are all selected in the "Window Properties (WebHelp Pro)" dialog. (Since when do these settings apply only to WebHelp Pro?)
I was so surprised that I thought I must have done something wrong, and repeated the experiment -- with the same result.
The only thing I can recall doing on my computer is uninstalling Microsoft Visual Studio. Surely that couldn't have had this effect?
Also, there was a "Security Update for Office 2003 (KB976382): VBE6" and a "Security Update for Windows XP (KB978542)", both on May 12.

Endeca 3.1.0 . Search stops working without reason

We experience serious issue on our test site, which supposed to be ready for production deployment soon.
I don't have a lot information, but what happens - search and product listing pages stop working, feels like search freezes. You click on some category page, and it loads forever. The same happens when you try to search by keyword.
Few times the issue was probably caused by simultaneous indexing requests triggered from multiple directions - e.g. one person started baseline indexing from dyn/admin, while other did project deployments in BCC, which in turn trigger indexing.
We still didn't get what helps to unfreeze search - once I ran promote content script, and it helped. Other times I did restart all Endeca services, and suddenly search began to work again.
Please advice, what is the best direction for investigating the issue? Which logs to look into? The good advise is not doing simultaneous indexing, but we can't be dependent on Endeca so much, it is too simple to make the site down. We never experience such issues with ATG Search.

There is always a reason
Did you check the logs in your application/logs directory? Since the failure seems to be happen during indexing, I would start with the baseline and partial update logs. That should give you a starting point. It might also be a good idea to check your Dgraph logs as well as UI logs.
BTW, indexing/baseline script have an inherent locking mechanism to prevent simultaneous indexing. You might want to check wiuth your tech team if that was disabled/removed.

Spotlight search not working on ios7

Spotlight search not working on iPhone 5 updated to ios7. I can access the search bar, but nothing happens when I enter a search term.

I'm having the same issue with an iPad 2 and iPhone 5. As mentioned by Nick if you reboot it seems to resolve the issue. Note that after a reboot it can take several seconds for spotlight search to return the first results. After this first slow response it seems to be quicker.
If it helps I have a few hundred apps and about 24K songs so the search has a lot to go through!

How does YouTube search function work

Hey all,
Does anyone know how the search function works on AppleTV for YouTube? I know that not everything is on there yet...I know that...but things I have just watched...don't show up in the search?
So it doesn't seem to be searching the video title...maybe it's searching tags only?
Maybe certain video's haven't been indexed in the search yet but are already converted?
Just kind of curious how this thing is searching.

Why have iplayer, music and YouTube apps stopped working on iPad 1?

These have all stopped working on my iPad this week, any ideas on why and what to do?

I also have an iPad1 and my YouTube app keeps giving me an "authentication failed" error. It was working fine up until this morning. I have tried everything I can find online to regain access including: verifying that I am using the correct user name and password, activating 2-step verification and several attempts at application-specific passwords...no luck so far. I am going to try to resist the urge to keep trying for a while, hoping that maybe allowing it time to reset will help???
I do not usually use the Music app, but it seems to work okay for me. I only have a single podcast on there, but it played okay when I tried it. And I do not have iPlayer, so no idea about that one.
Of course Apple online support is no help because my device is "too old" and I can't afford to spend $20 for them to talk to me. Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
