Youtube sharing fails with correct passwords
Just wondering if the trial version does not allow youtube sharing. I have checked and double checked my youtube passwords, so I know they are correct, but FXPX returns with a fail and blames it on incorrect password/username.
There are many on this forum complaining about this issue. If you have not Compressor buy it. That is the way to go. Never fails.

I can happily connect my home computers and phone to sync and I have confirmed they sync between themselves. However, my work computer has recently stopped being able to sync where it has previously been fine for well over a year. I am on the latest version of sync and Firefox 35.0.1 (both at home and work).
When I try to reconnect to sync I am directed to the "Sign in to continue" page. It has my correct email address/account name. I enter my password (clicking "Show" to make sure it's correct) but then it always fails with "Incorrect password" in a red banner at the top. I have checked the password is correct and logged out and back in from home using the same password so I know that is correct. I have tried this logged in to work via remote desktop so I could do both at the same time to make sure there isn't just a prevailing sync server problem.
Obviously my work computer is behind a proxy/firewall. I have recently had to add a new certificate as a result of proxy changes to get internet connectivity working. Anecdotally, I think sync stopped working at a similar time - but it's always easy to remember these things differently when you're looking for a solution. So this could be a red herring.

i've deleted all cookies, although I don't really understand how that relates. I have also spoken to our sysadmin who says we don't block access to firefox accounts per se, we do block all file-esque uploads. However, I am not sure this would make any difference to the exact problem I am seeing which is that I can't sign in to my firefox sync account. But maybe signing in to this account is different to a "normal" account - maybe there is more of a two way handshake which relies on sending some encrypted data which appears to our proxy like a file being uploaded out of the company.
I got a slightly different error on my latest clear down and retry, in that the sign in just waited forever (overnight) without success.

That happens because photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days, even though your last 1000 photo stream photos remain on your devices until deleted. When you enabled photo stream on your iPod 4, you only received photo stream photos from the last 30 days as older photos are no longer in iCloud. If you want to stream these older photos to your new iPod, you will have to create a shared photo stream on your old one that contains these photos (requires iOS 6 or higher) and invite yourself as a subscriber, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99.

Help! Just did the Update (ML 10.8.4) after receiving a new HD since mine crashed last week and the shop didn't update it back to Mavricks which I had previously done...and now my Mac won't let me past the log in screen even with correct password entered. It just spins like I'm logging in and then goes back to the user log in screen. I did the process where I restarted and pressed control S and created a new user and password, but once created same issue and can't get passed that screen.

Today I discovered a new treasure of doggie poop in Lion. No Save As......
I repeat. No Save As. In text editor I couldn't save the file with a new extension. I finally accomplished this oh so majorly difficult task (because we all know how difficult it should be to save a file with a new extension) by pressing duplicate and then saving a copy of the file with a new extension. Yet then I had to delete the first copy and send it to trash. And of course then I have to secure empty trash because if I have to do this the rest of my mac's life I will be taking up a quarter of percentage of space with duplicate files. So this is the real reason they got rid of Save As: so that it would garble up some extra GB on the ole hard disk.
So about 20 minutes of my time were wasted while doing my homework and studying for an exam because I had to look up "how to save a file with a new extension in mac Lion" and then wasted time sitting here and ranting on this forum until someone over at Apple wakes up from their OSX-coma.
are you freaking kidding me Apple? I mean REALLY?!!!! who the heck designed this?!!! I want to know. I want his or her name and I want to sit down with them and have a long chat. and then I'd probably splash cold water on their face to wake them up.

I cannot connect my Ipad to a Comcast modem network with the correct password. Other devices work fine.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

OBIEE 11.1.1.7 external database authentication fails with hashed passwords.

I use an external database ( Oracle database 11g release 11.2.0.1.0) to authenticate user with OBIEE 11.1.1.7.
I configured SQL Authentication provider as my provider ,It works OK with :enabled Plaintext Passwords Enabled option and password is stored as plain text.
But It fails when I disable this option and want to authenticate with hashed passwords.It gives Authenticate Denied error.
In Provider Specific tab there are some parameters which might need changes:
1-Password Algorithm:??
2-Password Style:??
3-SQL Get Users Password:SELECT U_PASSWORD FROM USERS WHERE U_NAME = ?
How can I find correct values for options 1 and 2 form my external database?
And Is it need to rewrite query in option 3 ?

Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

Itunes on iphone won't let me log in with correct password
I have been all over the forums trying every options I have found. But when I go to update my apps my iphone/itunes asks for my password again. I have double and triple checked my password and it is correct. It is logging me in to my cloud, to the apple website etc. I am not typing it in wrong, believe me I have checked that as well. I have gone and reset the cache and reset the warnings in itunes. I have updated the software. I have made sure my icloud password is retyped in. What else can I do? I don't know what to try. I have reset the password and it still won't let me log in with the new, correct password. This has been going on for the past 3 months and nothing.
Yes, it is showing my apple id. And no, I don't have any other apple id's. I have gone into my settings into iTunes and App Store and signed out and signed back in in the apple id section. It connects no problem in my settings. But when I'm actually in the app store "App" and it prompts me for my password it comes back saying that the apple id and or password is incorrect.

I am having problems getting PowerPoint sharing working with Lync 2013. My setup is as follows
Lync 2013 Enterprise pool (november 2013 updates) on Windows 2012 and
Windows 2012 webapp farm
Kemp HLB
Everything is working ok, including whiteboards and application sharing, but i cannot get the powerpoint sharing to work. I always get the "some presenting features are unavailable due to server connectivity issues" for internal or external
users.
The webapp looks healthy and there are no errors in the Lync server or the webapp event log. Discovery urls can be accessed and i have put the .net 3.5 as suggested in a few forums.
When a user starts the PowerPoint it successfully loads the file to the Lync file share and request goto the webapp server. I am using a HLB which shows me that requests are forwarded to the webapp farm. I have removed the HLB for testing and get the same
results.
I did log this with the forum a month or so ago, but I had a file upload issue then which is now solved, but the powerpoint sharing is not.
any ideas?
sgI ran some diags on the client and i managed to find an error. This was in the client debug logs when trying to start a powerpoint presentation

Filevault 2.0 doesn't let me through at boot with correct password
I have login problems with the Filevault in Lion.
Before enabling Filevault I renewed my administrator account password since it was quite old already.
After enabling the Filevault I rebooted the computer. In the beginning of the boot I got a login prompt as I should but when I typed in my password the login prompt "shaked" and obviously told me that the password is wrong. Well I thought that maybe I just mistyped the password twice when I updated my password and therefore I used the recovery key, which worked. After using recovery key the login screen asked for a new password. This time I was careful and sure about the password.
Everything seemed to work, I did some things (install apps/change preferences) which needed my admin account password, typed it in and everything worked.
Then a day later I rebooted the computer the second time and again the login at boot didn't let me throught with password which was for SURE the correct one. Again, I used the recovery key, changed the password, rebooted, the same thing - won't let me through with the password, only with the recovery key.
No idea what I should do. One possibility would be to try to disable and enable again Filevault, but I don't want to try it before some comments and suggestions.OK I just enabled FileVault and had that same issue after restarting. It refused my correct password three times, so I had to use the recovery key to log in. When it asked me to enter a new password, I just clicked "enter" and a new login prompt, just like the older one, let me enter my good old password. Voilá, it worked this time.
Since FileVault is still encrypting the disk, I haven't rebooted again, or shut down the computer (it just happened a few minutes ago). I don't know if I'll have the same problem again when doing so. Any input about this issue?
(For an instant I thought my keyboard might have changed its layout, but who knows?)

In the new OS 5 (which I was updated to last week), if you define a password to lock your device, when you enter the correct password, before you press enter or the trackball, a message appears on top in a red frame "Press (green phonetube) to attemp an Emergency call".
This red frame/message might confirm to an unauthorized user trying to unlock the device, that he/she has guessed the correct password.
I think the correct operation should be to wait for a "enter" and if password is correct then unlock the device, otherwise anounce an incorrect password message and keep device locked.
RegardsThe "Press (green phonetube) to attemp an Emergency call" is not confirming the password is correct, it is offering to allow you make a call to your local emergency number rather than typing in a password.

Adding a shared account with no password to Mac Mail.
Is it possible to add a shared account, without a password, to Mail?
I have an initial account established at work. I receive all my personal email there. I am also part of a team that monitors a shared account. I've seen various how-to's around the web that speak to shared accounts in Mail. Unfortunately those articles are fairly old now. I am running Mail v7.0 on Maverick. When I try to set up this extra account I'm always prompted for a password... which the shared account does not have. Any thoughts?Can you set it up manually and either not set the password, or set a fake one, then remove it after creating the account.
To manually set up, hold the option key on the screen where you set the email address and password; the Create button will change to Next. -
EUS password authentication in sql developer failing with username/password
We have recently changed to use Enterprise User Security (EUS) for our client authentication (password global authentication).
This is working fine but we are encountering an issue with SQL Developer whereby we can't logon using our EUS details, it simply returns the following on the logon screen:
Status : Failure - Test failed: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
Logging on via sql plus client and server software and other 3rd party tools like pl/sql developer works correctly.
It appears to be an issue with sql developer itself.
We are using the latest Production release of sql developer 2.1
Does anyone have any ideas?

There is a jdbc setting that will allow you to use EUS password authentication.
Add the jdbc line option (below) in the sqldeveloper.conf file (backup the sqldeveloper.conf file first).
AddVMOption -Doracle.jdbc.thinLogonCapability=o3
The sqldeveloper.conf file can be found wherever you have installed sqldeveloper, under <INSTALL_HOME>\sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.conf.
After you add this option, restart SQL Developer and you should be able to use your EUS username / password to authenticate via SQL Developer.
