YouTube Subscription: No longer sorted by date

I have a lot of YouTube areas I visited with subscriptions. For example I view GoogleTech Talks regularly.
Before the last Apple TV update the videos within any group of videos, such As GoogleTech Talks, were sorted by date with the latest videos at the top of the list.
Now the videos seem to appear randomly. Now I have to do a search but that is not very reliable or convenient.
Is there a way around this or is it a "bug/feature"?
It is almost unsuable now as a YouTube video viewer,
Thanks..Dave

This should be fixed with 4.2.2 released today.  I have not tested it yet.

  • Photo Library on iPhone no longer sorted by date (oldest to newest).

My photo library on my iPhone was sorted by date (oldest to newest) and since upgrading to iOS 5.0 it is no longer sorted this way.  My specific events are still sorted that way, but when I view the entire library under "Photo Library" they are scattered and I can't find any pattern as to how they are sorted.
I went to Aperture which I use for my photo organization and under the Photos section where I see all my pictures they are sorted oldest to newest there.  I have tried unsyncing photos to my phone and then resyncing, but that didn't work.  It worked fine before iOS 5.0 and I was using Aperture then too.
    Anyone have any ideas?

Uh-uh, I think there is an answer on page https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4565337.
The solution provided by LarryHN is:
In the Events view, go to Menu > View > Sort events. In the roll-down menu, select By date.
Repeat it, if you also want to choose between Ascending or Descending sorting order.
Sorry to have bothered you all.

  • YouTube subscriptions no longer display

After the latest IOS for AppleTV software update, my videos under the youtube subscriptions area no longer display. The issue's symptoms are described here (http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/youtube/thread?tid=615fa88008bea999&hl=en& fid=615fa88008bea9990004a9f356d2ac15).
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Log in.
    2. Go to subscriptions.
    3. Click a subscription.
Expected behavior: The videos for the subscribed channel will load.
Actual behavior: The AppleTV displays a blank screen.
At least one other person that I know of is having the same problem.

I submitted a post to Apple's Feedback, but I also have the same issue.  Just purchased an Apple TV within the past 4 weeks.  Recently setup a YouTube account (after Google purchased them, and am using my Google account).  I can see my favorite YouTube videos, but every time I select "Subscriptions", Apple TV either does a hard reset or it resets to the main screen.
I keep thinking that the new Google "frame" around YouTube has messed up this function.  The "Activity Sharing" within your YouTube settings no longer controls sharing your subscriptions like it used to.  It tries to draw you to your Google account.  So...is the issue we all have to setup 2 - step verification and use that to log into Apple TV?  Or is there just a bug with subscriptions and Apple TV?

  • Events in iPhoto 11 no longer sorted by date

Ever since November 3, 2012, added events in my iPhoto Library have not been added to the end, but to the top of the list of Events and further down. In April 2013, the Events began to be added from the top of the list again. The whole library becomes more and more messy. On the other hand, once I choose to view the photos by clicking the Photos library in the menu bar to the left of the iPhoto  window, the photos align in the perfect order by date of shooting them.
However, I prefer to browse through my images in iPhoto using the Events view which is faster. I want to put it back in the old order — by date of the making of the photo — but that seems in vain.
I have tried (since the occurrence of the problem):
To upgrade to the newest version of  iPhoto. Currently, I'm using iPhoto '11 (version 9.5 [902.7]) of 2013.
To upgrade to the newest version of the operating system. Currently, I'm using OS X version 10.9 (Mavericks) of 2013
To change hardware. I used to have MacBook 13'' (mid-2007). Currently, I have a MacBook Pro with a 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7

  • My photos not sorted by date in photos

my photos are no longer sorted by date after change to photos when viewed in all photos. Also how do you change the order from oldest to newest down the screen. An option for black background would be nice.

The problems reported here occurred right after updating to iOS according to the users as TD mentioned.
It's a compatibility problem between iPhoto and iOS6 that the only workaround would be to possibly batch change the date of the photos in iPhoto . Therefore we'll have to wait for it to be fixed with either an iPhoto update or an iOS update, which ever Apple feels is the proper item to to be changed.
If they update iPhoto first (which is probably what they'll do) it'll be called an iPhoto problem.

  • ATV 2  4.2 build 8F191m - YouTube subscriptions and sort order

Is there a way to get subscriptions to sort by latest or newest?

I have just noticed this behavior as well. I can't tell what they are sorted by. PBSNewsHour as an example is not sorted by date, rating, views or alphabetically. It just seems random. Unless the UI is changed the only logical way to sort youtube subscriptions is to put the newest first.
Be sure to let Apple know about this if you are having the problem.

  • YouTube Subscription Videos Sort Order

After applying iOS 4.3 to my Apple TV, my YouTube subscription videos are shown in a seemly random order. Before iOS 4.3 they were sorted by descending date. This made locating and watching new videos easy. This new "order" makes this difficult, if not impossible, for YouTube publishers with a large number of videos.
I am extremely disappointed with this change.

I'd like to echo the feelings in this thread. Without any way to show the newest videos the subscription feature is next to useless.
I'm hoping that there is toggle squirrelled to allow for subscription sorting by newest, most viewed, etc. Otherwise I have no idea why this would (intentionally) change.

  • Youtube Sort by Date

How do you sort by date in Youtube ?

Ya, this update did cause some issues with YouTube sorting, major pain and wish I could go back to old version. There are some other issues with the update too, guess they actually need some beta testers at Apple, cause the ones they have aren't cutting it. BTW the favorites on your podcast section takes longer to load now and the play/pause button no longer just plays the selected podcast, takes you to the next level in, bad idea since most people where using that as a work around for the last iTunes mess up.
You can however get around this problem by using your iOS device to Airplay the Youtube stuff to your AppleTV 2. Not the nicest work around but it does work.

  • IPhone No Longer Sorts Podcasts By Release Date After 3.1 Update

After upgrading to iPhone OS 3.1 and iTunes 9.0(70) Podcasts on the iPhone no longer sort according to their release date. The ordering is definitely not alphabetical or any of the other user selectable sorting options. If I had to guess I'd say it's sorting them by reverse download order (which when you update less frequently than once a day is quite confusing since iTunes downloads most recent first). Is this a problem with the iPhone OS, iTunes or an option that I'm missing somewhere (the iTunes podcast tab is set to sort by release date).

I'm thinking this is not a iphone 3.1 upgrade issue, as the only thing I have upgraded is to iTunes 9 and I am having the exact same problem. After upgrading my phone did lock up really bad. The screen was on, was showing slide to unlock but was totally unresponsive to the home and sleep buttos. Plugging it back into the computer also did nothing. I had to hard restart it with the home and sleep button in sych.
My Podcasts have no sorting capability what so ever. There is no logical reason they are so jumbled up.

  • YouTube subscriptions out of date order after latest update

I just updated my Apple TV with the latest iOS update and now my YouTube subscriptions are out of order. Prior to the update, they would always be listed in date added order. Now they are all jumbled up. So, when I go to see the latest videos from someone who has posted over 100 videos on YouTube, I have to go through the entire list of 100 videos to find the newest videos. I've tried logging out of my YouTube account and then logging back in. I've also tried unsubscribing and resubscribing and that didn't work either. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I know this really ***** and I have contacted them too. The way I get around this is to open youtube on a computer, go to my subscriptions and favoriting the ones I want to watch on my Apple TV. Then go to the APV and youtube favorites and there it is...... click and watch. I am on my IPAD now doing this and watching my lastest video's in my subscriptions.

  • My credit card no longer exists how can the online subscription now be sorted out by my company

My credit card used for the CC subscription no longer exists - the card was being debited monthly. How can my company sort out the payment and how can I ensure my usage of CC is not stopped in the interim. I have tried the chat helpline several times but although it says there are consultants available the second screen always says there are several customers before me and I never get helped.

I am stuck with a similar problem. I moved from Ireland to the UK but for some reason, iTunes would not let me change the country in my payment information, it remains Ireland. I do not have any credit to spend and I still cannot change it. I even set up a new iTunes account and the country still remains uncangable. Hence, I cannot add the details of my UK card as iTunes believes it is set in Ireland. Have you managed to solve your problem?

  • Is YouTube Subscription sort order going to be fixed?

I haven't seen the sort order of youtube subscriptions mentioned anywhere as a feature of Apple TV. Is it then a feature that has been removed?
Or is it a bug that is going to be fixed?
If the latter, does anyone know the bug reference number?

no, the forum is populated just by users, there is no input form apple.

  • Can No Longer Sort New Files By Date!

Whenever I download new files and try to access them in finder by sorting by ANY of the date related fields, the new files always show up under "No Date" making them a pain to access. WHY???
Most other files show up in the different categories "Yesterday", "1 Week ago", "More than 30 days ago" etc. But always my new files show up in "No Date" and I have to scroll down and search for them instead of seeing them at the top of the list! Why???
I tried sorting by all of the date related fields... Date Added, Date Created, Date Modified, Date Opened...none of them work.

    phoenix1887 wrote:
Even with screenshots for example. I can take screen shots and the files always show up in "No Date". If I sort by "Date Added", "Date Created", or even open the files and/or modify them and then sort by one of those dates they should show up at the top of the list but they always show up in "No date"
Try trashing you Finder preferences and restart.

  • Update Did Not Fix YouTube Subscription Bug

Before 4.2, Apple TV sorted your YouTube subscription videos by latest/newest video. Now, it's sorted randomly which hurts the user and viewing experience, because we have no clue if the said subscription/channel has posted a new video or not. (and some of my subscriptions have over 400 videos posted)
Could you PLEASE revert back to the sorting order before 4.2 OR give us a way to list videos by date added, most viewed, and top rated when viewing a YouTube subscription?
