YouTube subscriptions problems?

I am using a 32gb wifi ipad 2 and I seem to have trouble with the YouTube app. Whenever I log in all my subscriptions are gone and whenever I try to subscribe to some one it says "YouTube Not available" I logged into my YouTube account through Safari and they are still there. Random videos work but I'm only having problems with the subscriptions. I have tried logging off and back on and rebooting and resetting the iPad but that still doesnt help. Any help is appreciated.

Im having sort of the same issue!! When i open up the app that i use daily, now it says that i have no new videos and there are absolutely NO videos there! But when i go on the website, they are all there but bc apple doesnt support adobe flash player, i cant watch them on the website! Whats going on? I need my videos lol.

  • YouTube Subscription Problem(s)

I've noticed ever since the newest update for Apple TV 2nd that when you view one of your subscription channels from YouTube, it no longer shows the latest videos first when viewing the selected channel. The sorting seem kinda random and there is no way to sort it by latest/newest video. Could we get some sort of sorting/filtering system?
Also, how come I am limited to only 25 viewable subscriptions? I have a lot more on my YouTube account but for some reason Apple TV only shows 25 of them.
    Thank you

I just updated and no.. It's not fixed...
There haven't been any further updates since the problem occurred.
The most recent first order for youtube subscriptions disappeared with the 4.2 update; there was an update 4.2.1 afterwards http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4448 which included stability and performance fixes. Neither update mentions any change to the sort order for youtube subscription videos.
Was the feature originally a bug?

  • Hardly any of my YouTube subscriptions work with my Apple TV using the latest software (24Aug2011).

Since the recent 4.3.3? update on my Apple TV Gen 2 I've noticed most of my youtube suscription channels display the channel name in the list but their channels are empty when I select them and some just display 3 random videos i.e. not the latest three videos...what's going on? This used to work fine!!! I can search for the videos and they play fine so it's not permissions on youtube it's 100% apples buggy untested software update.
Seriously Apple how can you allow this update into production without properly testing the youtube subscription channels!? surely it's gotta be a big thing to test!?
Please patch this asap and don't open a whole bunch of new bugs along the way! you end up resolving one issue and creating another 5! help!
Yes I've tried reboots and resets and none work!!!! it worked fine then a few seconds later I updated my ios software on the device and this problem occurred...grrrrrr
    Anyone else?

  • Apple TV restart often needed to view YouTube subscriptions

Ever since 2.4 software update, when I leave the Apple TV on overnight, and get up the next day, and go to check out my YouTube subscriptions (and sometimes, my Favorites), I just get the spinning indicator. One time I let it go for 3 hours... A restart of the Apple TV fixes the problem, but that's a pain in the behind. Anyone else notice this?

    Thanks, WD.
Just removed and re-added it on the AppleTV. Guess we'll find out tomorrow

  • ATV 2  4.2 build 8F191m - YouTube subscriptions and sort order

Is there a way to get subscriptions to sort by latest or newest?

I have just noticed this behavior as well. I can't tell what they are sorted by. PBSNewsHour as an example is not sorted by date, rating, views or alphabetically. It just seems random. Unless the UI is changed the only logical way to sort youtube subscriptions is to put the newest first.
Be sure to let Apple know about this if you are having the problem.

  • YouTube Subscriptions Bug

In YouTube Subscriptions, when I try to load "New Videos," it always gives me the same error message:
    "YouTube not available."
It's been doing this all day. Anybody having the same problem?

Could it be that the app can only handle a certain number of unwatched subscription videos? I'm sure that Google's servers were running at full capacity yesterday with the release of iPhone 3.0, but I would expect it to be working by now. I have been noticing consistent problems with Google's cloud lately, which is why I actually replaced Google Apps with MobileMe.
I'm tired of loading up Byline to check my YouTube subscriptions. Anybody find a fix to this?

  • Vanishing YouTube subscriptions

    hi
Literally overnight more than three quarters of my YouTube subscriptions have vanished from Apple TV.
I know in the past people have mentioned how some YouTube subscriptions don't carry over to Apple TV very well, but I've ever heard of them disappearing when they've been working fine for over a year.
Is this an Apple or YouTube problem or "feature"? ;-P
    k

I'm seeing a related issue regarding the paging of subscriptions where if you have more than X number of subscriptions, if you try to page to the next page of subscriptions nothing happens.  This makes it impossible to view any subscriptions that don't already occur on the first page of results.  Started happening a few days ago.

  • When will the youtube subscription limitation be fixed?

I have submited about this before, called support, taken my apple tv into an apple store.
I have heard the same story for months and months now...   "It's currently being looked at and will be fixed on the next software update"
That was quite a few software updates ago.
My Apple TV is still limited to only 25 youtube subscriptions as I know I'm not the only one with this issue, it clearly is something that needs to be addressed.
I know apple has little financial interest in fixing youtube on the apple tv, but based on the fact this was a major reason I bought the apple tv, I'm quite disappointed that something as simple as this has not be addressed.
It really is making me rethink bring any more apple products in my home, as this was my first apple experience, and to be frank, so far I'm not impressed in the least.
This is a documented issue so I've been told, and only requires a simple software update.

in addition to poor open GL performance, i've also had problems with any program utilizing antialiasing support. i recently sat down and called apple and had a discussion with their support line. while i didn't mention the poor open GL performance, i did mention the graphical errors i was experiencing with my MBP. i was told these issues are not normal, and have a replacment on the way. while these issues are some what numerous, i've not been able to find much more than a few articles or discussions on the topic. i'm hoping this means it is contained to a few MBPs and not all. we'll see when the replacment comes. if not, however, i'd consider a class action suit. the machine i bought was sold as a portable gaming machine, (apple.com/games/hardware) and thats not what i've gotten. i am very disappointed that apple has not even acknowledged the issue to let us know some fix is in the works. if enough of us make a big enough noise about it, perhaps we can get some sort of reply. i'd recommend you sending a note to apple as mentioned, then take some time to sit and give apple a call. they are very interested in listening to you, don't feel silly about calling about game perfromance, they are advertising these machines as such.
    cheers

  • YouTube subscriptions no longer display

After the latest IOS for AppleTV software update, my videos under the youtube subscriptions area no longer display. The issue's symptoms are described here (http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/youtube/thread?tid=615fa88008bea999&hl=en& fid=615fa88008bea9990004a9f356d2ac15).
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Log in.
    2. Go to subscriptions.
    3. Click a subscription.
Expected behavior: The videos for the subscribed channel will load.
Actual behavior: The AppleTV displays a blank screen.
At least one other person that I know of is having the same problem.

I submitted a post to Apple's Feedback, but I also have the same issue.  Just purchased an Apple TV within the past 4 weeks.  Recently setup a YouTube account (after Google purchased them, and am using my Google account).  I can see my favorite YouTube videos, but every time I select "Subscriptions", Apple TV either does a hard reset or it resets to the main screen.
I keep thinking that the new Google "frame" around YouTube has messed up this function.  The "Activity Sharing" within your YouTube settings no longer controls sharing your subscriptions like it used to.  It tries to draw you to your Google account.  So...is the issue we all have to setup 2 - step verification and use that to log into Apple TV?  Or is there just a bug with subscriptions and Apple TV?

  • YouTube subscriptions out of date order after latest update

I just updated my Apple TV with the latest iOS update and now my YouTube subscriptions are out of order. Prior to the update, they would always be listed in date added order. Now they are all jumbled up. So, when I go to see the latest videos from someone who has posted over 100 videos on YouTube, I have to go through the entire list of 100 videos to find the newest videos. I've tried logging out of my YouTube account and then logging back in. I've also tried unsubscribing and resubscribing and that didn't work either. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I know this really ***** and I have contacted them too. The way I get around this is to open youtube on a computer, go to my subscriptions and favoriting the ones I want to watch on my Apple TV. Then go to the APV and youtube favorites and there it is...... click and watch. I am on my IPAD now doing this and watching my lastest video's in my subscriptions.

  • Update Did Not Fix YouTube Subscription Bug

Before 4.2, Apple TV sorted your YouTube subscription videos by latest/newest video. Now, it's sorted randomly which hurts the user and viewing experience, because we have no clue if the said subscription/channel has posted a new video or not. (and some of my subscriptions have over 400 videos posted)
Could you PLEASE revert back to the sorting order before 4.2 OR give us a way to list videos by date added, most viewed, and top rated when viewing a YouTube subscription?
    null

This should be fixed with 4.2.2 released today.  I have not tested it yet.

  • YouTube Subscriptions aren't loading!

YouTube Subscriptions aren't loading in the built-in app for awhile already, even on my iPhone.
    What's wrong?

At least I know it's not just my iPads - let's hope they release any updates to the app through the app-store instead of through iTunes

  • YouTube subscription screen shows no videos to view

After upgrading apple tv2 my YouTube subscription screen is blank after selecting the subscription.  It appears there are no videos to view.

They must have done the same thing with the Iphone and Imac, cause they are not working either.
