I keep having a youtube video come up on Facebook when I open ithe APP.

Recently when I try to play Youtube videos they start and after about 2 seconds I get "an error occured. Please try again later"

I have the latest version of Firefox and also the latest flash player.
Youtube videos play just fine on internet explorer and google chrome.

There was another security release for Flash today as they are addressing some major security issues this week.
I would recommend changing your Flash plugin to a click to play status. Go into about:plugins and click "Always Ask to Activate" for your flash player.
However in your troubleshooting information:

I can't get video to start in Facebook anymore. Was always fine until about 2 weeks ago.

Using Windows 7, Firefox.
Now whenever I see a post with a video in it on Facebook, I just get a big black screen. I've tried deleting cache, cookies, updating to latest version of Firefox, Flash. Nothing. Big black screen.

I am using Ad BlockPlus, and wondered if that was an issue. So I have disabled it on Facebook, but no change. I've used AdBlockPlus for a couple of years - no problems on Facebook or other sites for video.
I disabled both PDF plug-ins; shut FF down and restarted it -- no change.
I'm not sure what you mean by "Pressing the Alt or F10 key to bring up the tool bar." Does nothing on my computer. I find add-ons under Tools.

[SOLVED] Youtube Video showing up on every window I open?

Hello all, I'm getting this strange error. A youtube video (Appearing as it does before you click the play button when it is embedded) is showing up in every window I open (of any sort, it even shows up on games like minecraft) before that part of the window is filled with the actual program or image I am trying to load. It also seems to show up on black colors afterward. I'm completely lost here, any ideas?

Yes, my system is up to date, and it only seemed to do it starting last night. It wasnt uptodate before this morning though.
I've realized it also shows up in the top left corner over anything black.

No sound in Youtube videos when played on Facebook in my Ipad

When I use youtube app, sound is perfect, if I share. Video in Facebook and try to watch it on my IPad , I got no sound, same happened when trying to watch posted videos all in FB. What can I do to fix it?

Whenever i try to open a video it starts quicktime but can't open the actual window

It's only started happening recently but If i try to open a video, .mp4 for example, it opens quicktime and its shown on the dock and on the top bar but it doesn't actually open the window to play the thing. It just opens the app, nothing else. Does anyone know what could of caused this??

I think that VLC Media Player will play avi files.

Force higher quality Youtube video over EDGE?

When you're using EDGE the YouTube videos automatically get bumped down to a lower quality/highly compressed version to allow for them to stream quicker. Is there a way to force it to stream the higher quality version it uses when you're using an 802.11b connection? Obviously it'll be much slower, but for some videos it'd be worth the wait for some extra quality.

The YouTube videos are encoded using H.264 which, when streaming, the video quality is based on your data transfer rate (connection speed). Therefore the faster connection you have the better quality videos you're going to get served up.

What is the exact error message you are receiving? A screenshot would also help us help you out easier. If it is asking you to use the Youtube application, please do that as it works better than the mobile site of Firefox.

Youtube video is not streaming on E71

Hi.... i just got new E71 weeks back & im trying to view youtube videos on E71....so its showing connecting on real player n after some time shows connection timeout try again......n it ask me to save rtsptemp....i really dont know wat to do abt this error...im very dissapointed....please help me

hey There I Am Also Having the same problem of youtube video streaming on default browser.When I purchased my E71 it was running the youtube videos in its default browser.>on open wifi>wep wifi>and gprs also.. but i dont know why;.. it stopped working after some months.I did all the following things but I am still not figuring out the thing which has been conflicting with youtube video streaming in default browser..
I did.
1.Firmware update>3 mobile to 300.something > no avail > then debranded to euro version upgraded to 510.21.009 >no avail
2.uninstalled evry thing .
3.wifi reset
4.port 80 forwarding
5.finally installed youtube application that only works fine .

YouTube Videos on Safari automatically start to reload once iMAC is logged in

I have an issue bothering you since I upgraded my iMAC to Lion OS, hope you can help.
Well previously when I had Snow Leopard as my OS, I could open Safari & view Youtube videos & in fact could have many Tabs in a Safari window, each having a unique YouTube video. Once I finished watching the videos, they could stay there if even the system logged out or went to sleep ... and when I would re-login all the videos which were completely displayed would remain there & I could watch them rightawat again without having to reload them from Internet. Since I upgraded to Lion, whenever I view YouTube videos in Safari (one unique video on each tabbed page), they would remain there until the system remains logged in ... however if the system automatically logs out (due to prolonged in-activity) or goes to sleep and when I re-login then all the videos which were viewed already would automatically start to reload again.
This is really frustrating, can you please guide if its some configuration issue? I reckon the videos which once gets into Safari cache should remain there (as was the case in Snow Leopard) but apparently Safari initiates a fresh reload once the system is logged-in & unnecessarily starts downloading vides again.
Can you advise the solution?

Nevermind. I gave up and moved to Chrome. Having a much better time now, no worries.

How can I prevent videos from automatically starting when I load a web site?

Recently web sites have begun not only showing me the first shot of a video, but starting the video automatically when the page loads (or when I scroll down to the part of the page where the video is located). This happens on various news sites (nytimes.com), facebook, and other places. How can I prevent the autostart from happening?
I've got AdBlockPlus and NoScript enabled, although I whitelist many sites in NoScript. Videos used to wait for me to click an arrow in the middle (like a "play" button) to start; some still do, but most don't. (I believe an add-on is responsible for the play button, but I don't recall which one.)
Any suggestions?

The question remains unanswered: How does one prevent unwanted video content from playing automatically on web websites? The problem is most notable on news sites such as ABC News.
It is really, really, really really really, really, really, really really really, really, really, really really really irritating. More irritating, in fact, than when people cut and paste a word a dozen times to emphasize it.
MORE IRRITATING THAN WHJEN PEOPLE USE ALL CAPS OUT OF FRUSTRATION BECAUSE NO ONE SEEMS TO LISTEN OR TO CARE THAT I AM SLOWLY LOSING MY MIND BECAUSE EVERY FLIPPING WEB PAGE IN EXISTENCE PLAYS VIDEAS THAT I DON'T WANT TO WATCH.

Windows 7 64 bit: I just upgraded Firefox to 7.1 , I can't watch video on youtube, video freezes, then the browser freezes. I right click on the icon showing the page is open on the taskbar & click close then cancel, it starts then freezes again?

When I watch any video on youtube, every video first starts with short freezes then freezes the Firefox 7.1 Browser window. I have to right click on the icon that shows the browser is open on the taskbar at the bottom of windows and then click on close& cancel to get it to start working again. Also, on any site, I am having problems with links & functions that suddenly stop working, site connections being dropped frequently for no reason, my Modem is stable & internet shows connected. On facebook when I click a button(photos) it doesn't work, in Amazon I click on "submit" and the button stops functioning, in yahoo mail I can click on a button to "send" mail and it won't work. I can open them in IE9 or Chrome but not in Firefox. I have tried disabling all plugins.I also have tried disabling all but flash and still the problems persist. I have uninstalled and reinstalled FF.

Command + R *should* take it to a recovery console. Command + Option + P + R resets the PRAM, but that doesn't sound like your fix.If all of your buttons are working fine on OSX side, I would ignore PRAM / NVRAM / SMC reset tricks, since these are tested as working fine.
I would say you should probably reinstall the drivers for bootcamp. I tried this with 5 in Windows 8 and it gives you an option to repair. The reason I say this is because the UI isn't showing up, which means that it's using another driver.
If this doesn't work, go into device manager and then roll back to your previous settings.
One more thing comes to mind. Do you ever use Parallels or VMWare to load your bootcamp partition? They have their own driver packages which can cause some unwanted behavior when using windows natively.
One last thing you can do is try to by-pass the GUI powerplan entirely. You can use the Powercfg command, which, as it happens, has instructions on how to forcefully set the brightness values. You probably won't be able to make it through these instructions since you will get an error at some point, but that will give us more diagnostic information.
