YouTube Video in Keynote

How do I get a link from YouTube to play (full size) in Keynote?

Hi ViddyYo! I don't recall ever being able to embed videos in Keynote - but you certainly can not embed videos within a presentation now.
You will have to download the video from the video hosting site and place it as a movie within the Keynote.
If you own the rights, I would suggest using a website like www.keepvid.com to make it happen.

  • How to embed a YouTube video in keynote on ipad2

I am new to using keynote on the ipad2 and wanted to know the steps, if there are any, to embed a YouTube video into keynote.  Any suggestions?

Yes, and if that presents any problems, you do have the You Tube application already installed on iPad.  It is a native application and you can watch any You Tube video through this app.
Safari is a great webrowser.  But if you want to wach any videos on iPad, find the App in the App store and you won't have any issues.  For example, you could be on CNN.com through Safari and if you try to click on a video, you likely won't be able to watch it.  But, if you download the CNN app from teh App Store, you'll be able to watch all CNN videos through the App.  It is a really logical and safe way to see what you want to see.

  • How do you put a youtube video into keynotes

    Hi,
I'm doing a presentation using Keynotes and would like to put some you tube videos in it. How do I do that. I've searched in google, but can't find a method that works.

Here's what I just did, and it works:
    1. Open Firefox, which already had DownloadHelper installed, went to youtube, tried to DL a video, didn't work. Strange, because I'm sure I'd DL'd youtube videos that way before.
    2. Looked around on Firefox's site for other add-ons, and found *1-click YouTube Video Downloader 1.3*, DL'd and installed it, and read the directions.
    3. Back to YouTube, clicked on a video, clicked on MP4 (immediately under the video window, on the right). The video DL'd with no problem.
So now I had this MP4 file on my Mac.
    4. Opened KN, made a new test file, on the second slide: +Insert > Choose+, navigated to the MP4 file and inserted it.
    5. In Inspector, I tried 2 different settings, one to start the video automatically after transition, the other to start on click. Both work fine.

  • Embedding clipped Youtube video into Keynote on iPad?

Is it possible to embed a clipped youtube video into a keynote presentation on the ipad? I know how to do it in Powerpoint, but that doesn't help me as I don't have powerpoint at home and am having to rely on trying to do it with Keynote on my ipad.
    Thanks!

Two possibilities I can think of. MAke sure that the side button on your ipad is set to screen lock & not mute. If it is set to mute, you'll need to slide it to unmute it before the speaker will work. Otherwise, it sounds like some kind of software glitch. I'd do a reset (I think you hold down the power button & the button on the top for like 10 seconds, until you get the screen asking if you want to turn your ipad off. Follow through, give it a few seconds, then restart it.

  • Embedding youtube video to keynote

How do you embed a youtube video into a keynote presentation?  Thank you.

Use a site like keep is.com to download the video (pick the .mp4 version) and then embed the video file the same as any other.
Even if there is a way to embed a YouTube video directly I wouldn't since you never know when the Internet might hiccup during your presentation.
And the usual disclaimers about being mindful of copyright when using videos in presentations to groups, etc....

  • How do I embed a YouTube Video in Keynote 6.5?

Hi!  Used to be that we could embed a link into Keynote to play during the slideshow; I'm not seeing how to do that now. Help! Please!  It looks like the Keynote just wants the videos to live on board the computer, you just click Media and bring it in...
    Thoughts?  Thanks everyone!

  • Making High Res YouTube videos from Keynote

Using the "export" function, how can I make high-resolution videos to take advantate of YouTube's better resolution functionality? I'm baffled by all the options and settings and don't know which setting to use to be able to upload the right video format to YouTube so it will play in High-Res.

Use the Custom format with Fixed Timing on the transitions. Set the video codec to be H.264, 30 fps, and make the size 640 x 480. Use AAC for the audio at 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps stereo. This should look very good in the new higher-rez option.

  • How do I put a youtube video on a keynote presentation

How do I convert a youtube video into a MP4 format so I can use it in part of  my Keynote presentation?  Is there a Mac app for that?
    iMac  OSX 10.9.4
    Keynote 6.2
    2.4 GHz Intel core2 Duo
    4GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Note: Keynote questions should be directed to the Keynote forum in the future, as Keynote doesn't run on Classic OSes.

  • Can a Keynote presentation be made so it runs by itself when converted to YouTube video for display on a website?

I would like to have it run scripted to the music & narration so it flows like a slideshow/movie from start to finish, about 10 - 15 minutes by itself with no need for the viewer to do anything. I plan on making it a YouTube video and it will be on a page on my client's website. I am trying to hack Keynote into a multimedia authoring tool like Adobe Director which is another tool I am thinking of using. Is anyone else using Keynote for multimedia authoring rather than just speaker slide support (PowerPoint)?

in Keynote:     Share > Send To > YouTube
Keynote is a very useful, basic level authoring application, it should not be compared to Director which is the industry leader in professional interactive authoring. You can learn the basics if Keynote in an hour, Director will take a few months.

  • Is it possible to embedding a video in Keynote and then play as a PDF?

    Hi
Is it possible to embedding a video in Keynote and then play as a PDF?  I want to do a PowerPoint/Keynote presentation that includes videos from YouTube.  My preference is use Keynote although I do have Office 2004.
My issue is that the places where we present have their own equipment so we are encouraged to bring the presentation on a USB/portable HD, and they tend to be Windows environments.
In my perfect (ignorant) world, I'd
    Create it in Keynote
    Add/embed videos from YouTube
Save it as a multi platform file like a PDF
I guess the key issue is:
Is there a way to create a multi platform presentation with videos (I think Keynote and PPT require different video formats???) that can be carried on USB/portable HD?
    Thanks

No, it's not possible without using hacks. And Adobe can't support or endorse hacks
Bear in mind that not only there are new features in a new version which can't possibly be recreated by an older version - also, there are enhancements to existing features, which would make them render differently in the two versions.
That said, there are people posting such hacks, as Sébastien pointed out.

  • How can you convert and use a youtube video in power point presentation?

Is there an easy way to use a youtube video in power point presentation?  I have 2012 Macbook Pro running OSX 10.9.2 - Thanks!

See if this helps I use keynote for moving background in loop all the time.
in Keynote click view and bring up the inspector box. select the movie in keynote you want to effect first, and on the inspector panel you will see a repeat feature under the quicktime icon tab.
    Hope that helps

  • Full screen YouTube videos halts MBP

When watching a YouTube video, going to full screen mode causes the machine to halt. MBP (late 2008, 2 Gb 2.4 Ghz dual core processor.) This happens in both Safari and Firefox. The display will go full screen, but the image is momentarily forzen, then the processor clicks off as though the power button had been held down for a few seconds.  Playing videos full screen in Quicktime works just fine as does full screen presentation in Keynote and PowerPoint.
Restarting does not bring up a report-to-Apple window or other indication that an error had been detected or noted.

OK, I turned off all extensions, restarted Safari, the problem is still there.
I tried different videos and found that some work fine, others don't.  So the issue must be something that is related to the type of video that is being played.  Here's a YouTube video that has a problem in full screen mode . . . . it's the trailer for "Here Comes The Boom"

  • Convert Youtube video into Quicktime?

I am in the process of learning how to use "Keynote '09" (Version 5.3). Is there anyway to convert an youtube video into Quicktime, so that I can play the youtube video in my keynote presentation? I would not want to purchase any expensive softwares or apps for it because I do not use keynote for business but just for my community volunteer work.

Since Google seems to 'own' all videos posted on YouTube most video extractors for YouTube, once widely available, no longer work.
So your question is really moot at this point - I don't know of any way, now, to even download YouTube videos. You could always use ScreenFlow (or a similar product) to 'capture' the video and sound, but that (according to Google) would violate their terms of use for YouTube videos.
    Sorry,
    Clinton
