    Hello Pepperbrewer,
While there's no way to get flash on your iPad and probably never will be, you can use several things to help you access some flash products.
    1) Skyfire for the iPad is a web browser that will convert flash videos and allow you to play them on the iPad.  Simply purchase it from the App Store and then you can use it instead of Safari when you want to view flash videos.
    2) SplashTop for iPad will allow you to remote control your desktop or laptop computer and use it from the iPad.  You basically install the SplashTop software on your computer, set it up, then load SplashTop on your iPad and it will allow you to use the computer from your iPad -- that means you can do anything your computer can do.
I'm guessing in your situation Skyfire will be the best option for you.
Fortunately the popularity of the iPad/iPhone/iPod is forcing a lot of major sites to use non-flash options, so in the next few years we may not care that flash isn't available.
Adobe is also working on a lot of tools, and have some available now, that will help sites switch away from Flash to use HTML5 instead.
Lastly, you're welcome to follow the other suggestions and find a buyer for your iPad 2. If you do choose to do that, I would recommend you spin the product positively, as you will get much less money for it if you let your frustration bleed off on the new buyer.

Hi c, well my first thot is that it didn't install. You can verify this at www.adobe.com/software/flash/about
Just a word of advice, if you continue trying to implement a solution before you know what the problem is,
you are just creating a worse situation.
Post back with what operating system are you using?
    Which Browser and version?
Post back with that info please and advise what the link said.

  • Flash videos will show up, but will not play

Youtube videos and some other sites work fine but then others will have the video on the site, but when I click play it was just load forever or just go dark. I tried resetting FF, updating Flash, safe mode....nothing working. I also uninstalled Adaware entirely and tried turning off AVG to see if that had something to do with it. Still nothing. The same videos also won't play in Explorer either. This just started and all I had done recently (I think) was update Adaware. Help?
Here's one example of videos that will load and have some information in the Flash player window, but just will not play: http://www.nfl.com/fantasyfootball/story/0ap3000000439600/article/week-14-fantasy-football-live-journal

I can't really help you but some extra information may help other posters. I was able to view videos on this NFL site, although they were slow to appear, on IE, Google Chrome and Opera.
It worked in Firefox after I disabled my Adblock Plus extension for this site. (The video opens with an ad. which is probably relevant.)
Your System Details aren't showing an adblocker extension but that is something you should check. The adblock problem is very unusual for me.
I realise that you have only shown one site as an example.

  • Flash 10.1 installs in Vista and XP but will not play some content

I started this morning by thinking the problem I am experiencing with Flash Player 10.1 is a version of the problem discussed in this forum  under "Flash 10.1 not working in User account."  I now recognize that it is a different problem.
First, FP 10.1 (specifically v. 10.1.53.64) installs fine either in Vista Ultimate 64 (IE Active-X or FireFox Add-in--I use and work in an administrator account) or XP (multiboot machine).  I can confirm the installation at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html and the FLVs at http://www.acpmh.unimelb.edu.au/resources/resources-education.html play with no problem.
Some content, however, simply will not play.  I need badly to look at http://library.creativecow.net/articles/hansen_jaysen/growing/video-tutorial.php and it hangs and tells me I need Flash Player--both in IE and FF.  I have repeatedly uninstalled FP, rebooted, and reinstalled but that doesn't change anything.  Worse still, since I use Adobe Connect a lot, Connect hangs when I try to enter a meeting.  Exactly the same thing occurs on my laptop which runs Vista 64 Home.
I have tried everything I can think of and searched with every strategy that seems promising but I have found nothing on this problem.  Surely I can't be the only person experiencing this!. Does anyone have any idea what is going on and how to deal with this problem?
    Thanks in advance!!!

I have exactly the same problem as the OP, on both my desktop (Windows XP) and my laptop (Windows Vista).  Both PCs have the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Opera and IE but no browser on either PC will display video content from the BBC website bbc.co.uk/news any more.  Before the Flash Player 10.1 upgrade about 10 days ago everything worked fine.
It still works on YouTube videos and the OP's http://www.acpmh.unimelb.edu.au/resources/resources-education.html but it won't play http://library.creativecow.net/articles/hansen_jaysen/growing/video-tutorial.php that the OP wants to view.
All that happens is that the first static frame is shown, but the 'telephone dial' animated icon (circle of white dots) just keeps going around forever and everything stays frozen and there's no sound.  Except when I've uninstalled Flash, there is no error message.  I've tried going back to a System Restore point but it didn't work; perhaps it's not far back enough.
http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ confirms that I have the latest Flash version 10.1.53.64, it says it's successfully installed and plays the rotating 'italic F' animation.  Incidentally, that's a better test page than http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html as referenced by the OP which seems out of date and claims that 10.0 is the latest version.
I've temporarily switched off my Firewall (Windows or Zone Alarm).  I've uninstalled and re-installed Flash several times for each browser on each PC, using both the Vista Control Panel and Adobe's uninstaller, I've tried switching off the hardware acceleration but nothing has fixed the problem.
Some other points (sorry if they are red herrings, please excuse my ignorance):-
If you uninstall Flash but find the test page still works, remember that the Chrome browser has Flash embedded within it.  See http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=108086dobe Flash?
Is Shockwave Player the same as Adobe's Flash player?  Very confusing!
Apologies if this hasn't solved your problem, but perhaps it shows that something in Flash Player 10.1.53.64 really is broken.  If some sites never work any more but others will, it's just too much of a coincidence !

  • I burned an edited movie to disc using H.264 codec and a second movie to MPEG -4 Video both worked well on my iMac but will not play on my Sony DVD Recorder/Player which accepts both DVD RW and DVD-RW.  Any suggestions?

I burned an edited movie to disc using H.264 codec and a second movie using MPEG-4 Video.  Both played well on my iMac but would not play on my Sony DVD Recorder/Player which accepts both DVD+RW and DVD-RW discs.  I have tried other 'codecs' DV-PAL; DVCPRO-PAL; DVCPRO50-PAL; AIC; and finally share to iDVD.  iDVD works on both my iMac and DVD Recorder but the picture is very poor with major shimmering which is unwatchable.  Can anyone assist? The other codecs I used either do not pay on my video recorder or fail when I play them back on my iMac.  I am at a loss as to what I can do.  I am from the UK so using PAL is essential.

If the source video is interlaced, you may have problems using iMovie. It de-interlaces everything on output which can cause picture to look strange.  Final Cut Pro X supports interlaced video, but it costs a lot more.
Standard DVD Players don't support H.264 or MPEG4.  You might want to look at this article on transferring HD video to DVD.  I wrote this article mainly for Final Cut Pro, but many of the same principles apply.

  • Adobe Flash Player Installer Will Not Work

As the title suggests, my adobe flash player will not install on my Mac Book Pro.
About 3 weeks ago my computer started saying I needed to upgrade my Flash Player for it to watch videos. So I tried.
I went to Adobe.com and tried installing the Flash player, the file its self downloads fine, but when I try to run the installer It gets stuck at 30% every. Single. Time.
I tried uninstalling Flash player, turning plug ins on and off, no luck.
I was running 10.8.5 OS the other day on my mac, and decided to upgrade to OS Yosemite today to see if that would solve the issue, no luck.
I'm all out of ideas, please help.

    Try the offline installer:

  • Adobe flash installed but not detected by all Browsers

OK I am running Vista 64bit with ie8 firebox and chrome have the latest version of flash player 11.
I have uninstalled it reinstalled flash 11 fine.... but going to youtube or any other site that uses flash player it asked to install. this happens on all browsers I tried on. please help asap
    Dre

IE, Firefox and Chrome all use a different version of Flash.
IE requires the ActiveX version while Firefox doesn't. They both use a plugin though. You can get them both from here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550
In Google Chrome, the Flash player is embedded and you get it when you install that browser whether you want it or not. It auto updates in the background, so you don't have to bother with that aspect.

  • Adobe Flash installed but not showing up in Plug-Ins?

Before this happened, every time I would download the latest version of Flash it would show up in Chrome Plug-Ins. I have Version 17 installed but it's not showing up anymore, there's only 1 file when there used to be 2...and when I attempt to watch a video that requires Flash it tells me to upgrade when I already have the latest version... Help?

It looks like you have the correct Flash Player and that it's enabled.  Since you have Flash Player, usually the thing that's going on is that the website either has faulty code that detects the presence of Flash Player (each website has code that does this), or if you're seeing it everywhere, it's typically a plug-in or extension that prevents that kind of code from working as written.
Have you installed any ad-blocking or anti-tracking plugins (AdBlock Pro, Ghostery, etc)?
In rare instances Chrome can get damaged, but a fresh install will usually clear that up.  That's the nuclear option though.

  • Adobe Flash (newest download) will not open facebook messages.

I am using the newest version of Adobe Flash on Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 10. When I try to open my messages on facebook all I receive is a blank screen. If I remove Adobe Flash from my computer I can view my messages. Is there a fix for this, or is there a way that I can add another update, or go back to another version of Adobe Flash so that I can view my messages?

Have you blocked a component called ''plugin_container.exe'' with your firewall by any chance? Check the logs.
Try downloading the [http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html Flash Player Uninstaller]
Next, reboot and then go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ It should give you the option to install it immediately without the need to download it.
Be aware though that when you run the uninstaller, it will also remove Flash from IE8 (or 9), so if you use either of those, you'll have to go to the same site again and download it from within Internet Explorer.
