Youtube video is jerky, any clue what's going on?
I've got an old PowerBook G4. 1.5 ghz processor, 1.5 gig of RAM. It's running the latest version of Tiger, and the latest compatible versions of Safari and Firefox.
I haven't used it in like a year. Brought it out of the closet and fired it up, everything seemed fine until I ran a video. Video is jerky, not smooth, like frames are missing. I'm seeing the behavior in both Safari and Firefox.
I did a test, loaded a DVD, it played just fine, nice and smooth.
Any clue what's going on here?
On a somewhat related note, anyone know where I can find TIger discs at a reasonable price so I can reload the OS? I know I've got them somewhere around here but darn if I can find them. I'd like to do a complete erase and reinstall and see what happens. I'm trying to get the unit ready for sale.

In that year since you last used it, streaming video and your PowerBook have unfortunately parted company.
Most such web-video is now optimised for Intel processors and since your PB doesn't have one the result is the jerkiness you describe. I'm afraid its called obsolesence. There are apparently workarounds for YouTube videos, but since you are planning on selling the computer its not really going to help you. As to the mislaid Tiger discs - I would keep looking! Apple may be able to help you but i wouldn't bank on it. After that all you can do is try the usual routes -eBay, Craig's List etc. You could also try lowendmac.com though looking at their link to available
discs I don't think you're going to like the prices!

I am using Final Cut Pro X. I shot a video recently and in many of the scenes, it looked like there was "movement" on the screen but nothing in the shot was moving. It made it look a bit blurry in areas and a little strange. Any idea if I'm messing up in my shooting settings or in exporting to Vimeo? I exported the master file to my desktop then uploaded it to Vimeo. Thanks for any help! I'd like to avoid this in the future.
Are you talking about the the moiré patterning on the guy's jacket? These guys seriously need to learn how to get ready for the camera. Nothing you can do that's any good to mitigate it, short of blurring it with a tracking mask, but then it's going to just look ugly. There's also horrible interlacing artifacts that haven't been scaled properly. What are your exact shooting specs and project properties?

I can't believe it!! But this answers my question. I pair up quickly between my iphone5 and iMac, but cannot transfer pics from my iphone to the iMac over Bluetooth as I expeceted I would easily be able to do. After all, I did this with my old Mac and a simple Motorola cell phone years ago.
So, the answer is that file transfer from iphone5 is not supported. Really!!
Not sure why capabilites have regressed, this is disappointing, but thanks for the answer, at least I know to stop beating my head against the wall searching for some hidden box to check. This seemed like such an obvious capability between Apple devices I couldn't understand why I was having such difficulty. It seemed like it would be seamless, but it can't be done. Baffling. -

iPod nano 6th generation, syncing with audiobooks does not work now, had been working. Sync test says: No iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad found. Connectivity test OK, no physical problems, iTunes shows the iPod. Any clues what to do?

Have you tried using the iPod with another user account or computer, to help narrow down whether the problem lies with the computer, account, or the iPod itself?
Maybe try reformatting it, using the tools provided by Windows. Instructions on how to reformat your iPod can be found in this article.

when syncing, I get an error message stating: "The iPhone cannot be synced. The disk could not be read from or written to." Any clue what that is due to. Everything but photos seem to sync fine.
I had the same problem when trying to sync my new ilPhone 4s and a fairly new iPad 2. I couldn't find anything in the forum about it. So, since my 4s was new, I called support and luckily I got a CSR with some knowledge. He at first thought it would be tough to fix but after thinking a minute he found the fix. The fix is:
Click on finder, Go, Home, Pictures, then click on iPod photo cache and drag it to trash. Now try syncing again. It worked on both of mine. No problems since. -
Title says it all really. I have an image button on my website, and when clicked should link to a youtube video. However, no matter what, I always get www.mywebsite.com/www.youtube...etc. And yes I know you need http:// in there or something to get it to work. I've tried every variation of the youtube link, including the shortened one it gives when you click the share icon. But no matter what, I get the same result. I've tried deleting the whole thing and starting from scratch too. I have other images that link to other websites, and those all work fine. It's just this youtube one. I've even tried copying one of those, changing the image, and posting the link there. Nothing.
Maybe I'm just missing something. I'm not the most experienced person with the software, so bear with me. I'm using CS5.5. Let me know if there's anymore info I can provide to help.
Thanks!If your website host has a caching engine turned on, you might not be able to see the most recent version of your page right away. If I remove https:// from your link, I can replicate your results. Have you tried saving your page with a different name, and uploading that as a test?

This MacBook Pro (circa 2011) is the second Apple laptop I have owned with the exact same issue. When I change sites (or at least many of them), the Mac issues a single chime. I do not have any clue what this might be ... or if it even needs repairing if I can stand the chime.

I've installed Toast and photoshop elements recently, i also updated my apps the other day.
I have had this problem before the updates of the apps though -
Firefox is refusing to start. It says that my profile is missing, which it appears to be. Yet the way in which one goes about creating a new profile wont' work either. Anybody have a bloody clue what's going on and how to fix it?

There is also an option to reset all data on the device with the next sync.

For iMovie to see your projects, they must be in a certain place. If they are on your startup internal hard drive, they must be in the Movies/iMovie Projects/ folder. If they are on an external drive, they must be in the iMovie Projects/ folder at the top level of the drive. Is it possible that your projects have been moves somewhere else?
