Youtube video playback choppy

I know this is a problem many others have had, but I couldn't find anything doing a search.
I did a clean install of Windows 7 Professional a few weeks ago and now I am having problems with video and audio playback when viewing imbedded youtube videos.  I tried uninstalling Flash 10 and installed Flash 9 as I read somewhere this may be the culprit.  However, this did not help.
I am wondering if it is a video card issue.  I have download the Windows 7 drivers for the card, but that didn't help either.  I never had this problem until I installed Windows 7.  Any ideas on what I can do?  Do I need to update (buy a new one) my video card?  I am using a Dell Dimension 8400 with 3gb of RAM which is a few years old but still very serviceable. The video card is an ATI Radeon X300.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the reply.

Sometimes when I open Quicken there is a problem with the sound.  Quicken normally plays a short melody when it opens.  However, since I started having this problem, the melody sometimes stutters like the youtube audio.  Because of this, I thought the audio card was bad and replaced it.  However, it made no difference.  I have no difficulty playing mp3 music files.
I have not seen any error messages regarding flash.

    I just want to be able to go on other websites and scroll while playing music (smoothly) on youtube in another tab.
    I don't think this happened until after I updated my firefox to 13 and my shockwave flash plug-in to 11.3.300.257
    How can I fix this cutting out and choppy-ness in youtube videos when I scroll?

  • ITunes Video Playback Choppy/Laggy?

    I am running a 27" 2011 iMac, 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB RAM and AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1025 MB graphics card. I am running the newest editon of Mountain Lion.
    This is the first time I have had this, however I am not impressed at all. Video playback becomes laggy/choppy, the sound goes all fuzzy and becomes out of sync. It first started with "Blue Planet", I got it about 3 weeks ago now and I simply cannot finish the series as the play back becomes horrible. I have "Ancient Aliens" and that never done anything like that on the same machine. Even the HD version played perfectly.
    Now I have just rented "The Hunger Games" in HD and I'm getting the same **** thing. When I pause the video for a little it stops, then it comes back again. Like watching a video with bad internet connection on YouTube, only it doesn't freeze, it just lags out.
    I don't really fancy sitting through a 2 hour film pausing it every 15 mins, if I wanted to do that I'd have just not paid for it.
    When I looked at my iStat Menu's CPU and RAM is not being used to much so it's not that. It shouldn't be anything to do with my internet connection, that was the whole point of downloading it? Plus my internet is 60MB (so 6MB/s) and I downloaded the 4.5GB file in 30 mins or so. So even if my internet connection had anything to do with it, it should be fine.
    Like I said I've not had problems with this before, but this is stupid. Can this be fixed? If not I need to try and get a refund as this is a joke.

    Thanks for your reply.
    Ugh. Sorry. It is frustrating and in today's technological marketplace should be one of the easier things for the Mac to handle.
    Received another feedback from someone. Have to try when my daughter gets up, but right-clicking on iTunes and doing a Get Info will yield the 'Run in 32bit mode', Checking this box helped another person who was floggedw with this issue
    The whole thing is odd. The Choppy playback was an issue oh her machine prior to upgrading to iTunes 11 and me adding another 4GB of RAM. Ran disk utility, did all the normal things to try and solve. She doesn't have an i-device, so WIFI sync was a moot point.
    I do not have the issue on my MBPro 15" running the same compliment of software and iTunes. Same movie plays fine. On hers, the issue is there. So this has to be software... settings, conflict, something...
    UPDATE
    Just tried the 32bit mode on her machine and same choppy results. Back to square zero.

  • Youtube video playback freeze

    Hi,
    I've been experiencing a lot video playback freezing, I've noticed it happens on youtube. It is not my internet connection, the video freeze even it's already been downloaded. It happens with all video resolution from 360P to Full HD, I've tried all majors Internet browser: Firefox, Safari, Chrome.
    I have Leopard, a 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo with 2GB of RAM.
    A 250GB HD with (at least) 10GB of free space.
    It shouldn't freeze for so low quality videos.
    Any help?
    Cheers,
    -- rafael

    Do you have powered speakers or headphones plugged in?
    If so, try unplugging them and seeing if it will play the video.
    I started having this problem right in the middle of watching a video and it would freeze playback every time I plugged in my speakers. Internet searching yielded no results, but an OS software update from 10.6.2 to 10.6.4 fixed my problem. You say you have Leopard, so I am not sure if a software update is available for you, but check under the apple menu > Software Update. If there is an update related to the operating system, install that. It worked for me!

  • Leopard Upgrade - Front Row 2.0 Video Playback Choppy

    Hi Everyone,
    I just upgraded from Tiger to Leopard and all is well except for video playback via Front Row. I'm playing video_ts files - which play back fine if I use the Apple DVD player application. In the new version of Front Row they tend to 'studder' and are choppy from time to time. I have 1GB of RAM installed, and I'm wondering if that is enough??
    Another note about video playback... I was watching the Dallas vs. Greenbay game last night via a live stream on the Internet using my Mini on a hard wired connection. Unfortunately, it was choppy for both audio and video. My G4 Powerbook did a perfect job. It also has 1GB of RAM, it's running Leopard - and I was watching the game over a wireless connection. Audio and video were almost perfect.
    Do you think that Leopard requires more memory than Tiger on my dual core Mini? I'm wondering if I should upgrade to 2GB's of RAM - or maybe re-install Leopard from scratch. (I did an upgrade install the first time.)
    (Also - My Mini is connected to a 37" 1080p Sharp LCD display via DVI.)
    Thanks for the help and advice!

    Thanks for the response Boece...
    My startup drive has 15GB of free space. The files are playing from an external Lacie HD (via USB 2.0) that has 20GB of free space.
    It's odd that all files will play perfectly when using the DVD app to view the movies. Front Row 2.0 will have intermittent problems when viewing the same file.
    Nothing else is running on the Mini when I am using Front Row.
    The only other time that I have seen choppy video playback is with the screen saver. I really like the new 'Mosiac' option for pictures - but with this display the Mini can't zoom from one picture to the next at all without being all choppy. It's almost like the graphics card is having trouble. The other options for 'Collage' and 'Slideshow' work fine - with smooth flowing playback.
    I'm planning on hooking the Mini up to a 19" monitor today to see if the problems go away.
    I'll report back with the results.

  • Video playback "choppy" when play 2 full HD videos together

    Hi,
    Recently I have a project that is to have 2 full HD video playback on 2 full HD resolution monitors. I am using flex in Air by having 2 windows opened when the program is launched, auto fullscreen on both monitor and then play videos. The videos are in f4v format. But the problem is the video playback is "choppy" when playback 2 full HD video together. My development PC is Corei7 920 with Geforce GTS250. This project will actually runs on Corei7 2600 with intel graphic chipset PC which I haven't test on the performance.
    How can I solve the "choppy" playback issue? Thanks.

    Flash Player full-screen video is an intensive process, but because it's running in a 32-bit environment it doesn't really help if the hardware has loads of extra RAM and multi-core processors. As you're using the decoupled version of the Acrobat Family, it only has an impact in terms of the decompression of the stream data when the annotation first activates.
    What is the original video spec?
    Are your rich media annotations set to deactivate automatically when the user moves to the next page? By default they deactivate only when the user context-clicks, so you can have a series of inactive-but-loaded instances fighting for attention.

  • Choppy Youtube video playback on Lollipop

    Hi Guys,
    I've just got a new Z3 with Lollipop pre-installed and found that YouTube playback via the default app is choppy/stuttery.
    I tried factory resets/ updating the YouTube app/clearing cache/turning the x-reality engine on/off, but of no avail.
    The videos play perfectly fine on my much older Xperia s, so pretty sure this not on the YouTube end.
    Please advise.
    Cheers.

    Youtube works fine on my Z3 settings/apps /YouTube uninstall updates .

  • Why is youtube video so choppy for me?

    Hi,
    I have an old PC (PIII, 500mhz, 384 RAM), but it's been fine.  Watching videos on youtube never was a problem.  I've noticed, however, that the video for youtube has become VERY choppy for me over the past year.  I had to rebuild my HD and I thought that would take care of the problem, but it didn't.
    I have a decent video card with the latest drivers.  When I installed Adobe Flash 10, I could see the flash intro video working fine.  But playback with youtube doesn't work for any video.  Is there a simple explanation for this?  Is Adobe 10 simply too intensive for my PC?
    Thanks for any replies out there.  My settings indicate that I'm employing h/w acceleration.

  • Flash Player 10.0.45.2 - Youtube Video playback

    Hi guys,
    My computer automatically downloaded the new 10.0.45.2 version of Adobe Flash Player sometime last night and now I am unable to play videos on the internet for longer than a couple of seconds - (At most about 90 seconds), I've tried removing flash player with the Adobe uninstall flash tool and then reinstalling it from the link provided on the adobe website but this still hasn't helped at all. I've also tried installing earlier versions of the player, but this hasn't worked either!! My Operating system is Windows XP and my preferred Web Browser is Mozilla Firefox.The problem also persists when I use Internet Explorer and I've noticed that if I stream an audio clip from a website, it will cut off after a period of about 60 - 90 seconds.
    How can I make this problem stop??

    The same thing happened to me today.  Only when I tried to watch a youtube clip it said that my Flash Player was out of date.  So...I clicked the link to
    update my player and that started a whole bunch of other problems.
    I was instructed to uninstall Flash Player Plugin etc. by using the FlashPlayer uninstaller program.  I did that and then tried to install the player again.  Now I can't because for some reason Internet Explorer keeps closing the tab and won't go back.  I have followed links within the Adobe website to resolve this issue but in addition to ie8 closing tabs, I get this message when I click on any link on the website:
    ProductMap_kbSmall.processor.importStylesheet:Could not retreive a valid progID of Class: MSXML2.FreeThreadedDOMDocument.3.0. (original exception: undefined)
    Has anybody seen this before?  I'm sure this is why I am unable to install Flash Player now, but I have no idea how to fix it.
    Problem 1: Can't install FlashPlayer
           Issue: Internet Explorer 8 keeps closing the tab everytime I click the download button.
    Problem 2:  The message in bold above.  What is it?
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks

  • Online video playback choppy, buffering every 3-4 minutes

    I cant seem to get my online videos to play smoothly. I've read through other online threads of similar issues and am unable to solve this problem. • YouTube play back choppy and not in color

    Just got the Droid Maxx as the 'free' 2 year upgrade.  Only had it a few hours and all seems fine (I'm old and don't need much to make me smile) except YouTube video is choppy and pixels are all out of whack.  I search the internet for solutions (I'm old and don't have the patience for this), but I'm not finding any.
    Who has the magic wand that will fix my problem?

    Thanks for the response!
    At the time of the post, I had no video playback issues with any other apps.  The YouTube playback was having trouble in the first hour of powering on the phone before YouTube auto updated, and it had the same problem after it auto updated.
    I couldn't figure out how to uninstall the entire YouTube app as the only option was to uninstall the update, which I did.  I also cleared the YouTube cache and data then reinstalled the YouTube update.  Now I'm a happy old guy, because the video plays as it should.  I'm not sure if it was reinstalling the update or clearing the cache and data, or possibly some other inadvertent action I took, but it works as it should.
    Thanks again for responding.

    After the question title has been cleaned up, I can see now that it relates to youtube video playback.
    Just embed the youtube html5 video player in a webview and stream video from youtube.
    This will work for videos that youtube has made compatible with their html5 player (about 30% it seems).
    Here is a sample embedding a youtube hosted trailer uploaded by sony pictures.
    import javafx.application.Application;
    import javafx.scene.*;
    import javafx.scene.web.WebView;
    import javafx.stage.Stage;
    public class YouTubePlayer extends Application {
      public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception { launch(args); }
      @Override public void start(final Stage stage) throws Exception {
        final WebView webView = new WebView();
        webView.getEngine().loadContent(
          "<iframe width=\"640\" height=\"390\" src=\"http://www.youtube.com/embed/IyaFEBI_L24\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen></iframe>"
        stage.setScene(new Scene(webView, 660, 410));
        stage.show();
    }If you have any questions, you can read more about youtube embedding here: https://developers.google.com/youtube/player_parameters
