YouTube video plays fine, but video on some sites does not
Shockwave Flash is set to 'Always Activate' but:
-Some videos on www.eminiaddict.com say that a plugin is needed.
-Videos on www.dickmorris.com are chunky and tiled.
The above two play fine on IE.
Thanks for the reply but I have never used QuickTime, nor the plugin.
The problem started when I recently migrated from an XP laptop to a new Win7 laptop, with a new installation of Firefox, using MozBackup to transfer the profile.
I did solve one problem by following the instructions here:

"Green" gets me thinking about issues with DirectX on the PC.
Have you tried the "Disable Direct3D acceleration in QuickTime" section from the following document? (iTunes uses QuickTime for video playback, so the same basic troubleshooting procedures apply.)

I have an IPAD 3 and recently updated the IOS software with the latest version and now video from some sites will not display where it did prior to the update. When I go to those same sites on my other IPAD that I did not do the softward update the video still works. Any idea why and what to do to fix it?
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. I just installed the new version of firefox. My firefox worked fine with the previous version. But the new version only works on the day I install it but the next time i start my computer it does not work. It does not open after clicking the icon. I even uninstalled it and then reinstalled it but again the same thing happened. I have no idea about plug ins etc. but I did not install any new ones.
This is a very interesting issue. Let's start with trying [[safe mode]], [[managing profiles|new profile]], and [http://firefox.com/all-older.html installing an older version] - if one of these works, please don't do the rest and reply here.

I have iphone4. Some inbound text messsages with imbedded video clips do not play the audio properly. Audio chirps as if bad decode. Is there firmware/software updates or other apps to help with this issue?
Harm, I didn't pay attention to those settings, I should have. I got hung up in the preset names and figured those were my only choices. How green I am, lol. I made a preset with a Target of 4 (max 6) and VBR 1 Pass, and I knocked the audio down to 128K being it's just speech, and it all worked great. The new file plays in both players perfectly and also plays on my iPad with no jitter. Filesize is about 240mb but that's fine, it works. Problem solved and in the books. BTW, I use a GTX570.
Jim, I agree, VLC is super, it was the only player that would play 5D Mark II files right out of camera back in 2008, on my dual core Dell laptop with a cheesy Nvidia 7900 graphics card. Problem is, the majority of people I'm sending these MP4s to are Mums & Dads in our church, etc, and you know quite well that those folks are running some consumer Dell or HP setup they bought at Costco on closeout.
Funny backstory, when the 5D2 came out in Sept 2008, that was what thrust me into video. So I immediately bought the Prod Premium CS4 Suite (already owned Photoshop for a few years being a stills guy) and installed it on that Dell 17" laptop I mentioned above. After getting the 5D2 finally in Jan 2009, I actually had the nerve to take my first attempt at creating a video in Premiere and encoding it on that laptop. I literally had to kill AME partway through because I was seconds away from burning out my processor (I had been using RealTemp because of how hot that thing ran using Word, lol). It was that event that made me convince myself to start researching how to build a real editing PC (using an i7 920 at the time). I probably drove Harm nuts back then with all my questions, lol! But this rig has been my workhorse and has been through countless upgrades, the only thing remaining from the original 2009 build is the case and the power supply.

i dont know what to do can anyone help me my phone fell the other day and the screen went black i cant see anything. my new iphone came in today and i never backed up my videos and pictures from my old phone. Is it even possible to back up my media (pics and videos) onto the computer so i can transfer onto my new phone?
Yeah, you are kind of in a Catch-22 now. If you can't put in your lock screen passcode, then you could try to follow the same steps you would follow if you had put it in too many times:
iOS: Device Disabled
However, not sure if that would allow you to get around the lock screen passcode, and if it wouldn't, then you would have to place it in Recovery mode, which erases it....
Just curious, though - when you hook it up to your computer, are you not able to execute the instructions for importing your photos and videos in the first link I posted?
Also, you always can start your new phone set up and click on "Restore from iCloud Backup to see if you have a recent iCloud backup you can set up your new phone with. If it is a recent one, then it should have your pictures and videos:

My bank homepage displays fine, but after I login it does not.
The graphics on the screen disappear, and what should be in the menu bars is listed on the left, one item on a line. This does not happen with IE11, and the bank esupport group says they have not seen it before.

Youtube plays fine but not Facebook or other site videos, it says I am missing a plugin?
When I use Youtube the videos play fine but on Facebook and some other sights the videos will not play. I just get a message that says a plugin is missing. Everything works fine on IE. I just downloaded Mozilla last night.
hi Brandonacker, you probably need to install the adobe flash player plugin for those sites to show video content, which you can download from https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html (use the windows exe-installer for plugin based browsers)

Ive got youtube videos converted to mp3 files on my itunes, they used to play fine but since the recent update they do not play correctly. how can i fix this?
Try running these songs through MP3 Validator to see if there any issues.
If nothing else, convert them to another format such as AAC via iTunes using the instructions in this Apple support document.

Music and videos start playing fine but randomly stop and the volume bar disappears
I have an iPhone 4S and run 6.1.3. I start to play music or videos (youtube, ESPN, Netflix, any) and they start to play fine but then randomly stop. The volume bar disappears as well. But then it reappears and I can play it again. When I do so it plays about 30 seconds, sometimes less, and pauses again. I have to repeat the process. Any idea how to fix or what might be causing the problem?
Try a reset:
- hold both the home button and sleep/wake button down at the same time
- the iPhone will turn off(keep holding) but as soon as you see the apple logo appear release both buttons
Also make sure none of the LCI have been set off especially the one in the charging dock of the iPhone. Read the article below for help in checking this:

I do not use the function very often but AirPlay has worked fine in the past (several OS updates ago on both iPad and apple tv). The audio plays fine but no video???? Any suggestions.
interesting...... you know i tried other media and it worked fine. i was trying to play 'amazon instant video'. when you say 'blocked ... by the providor' it seems to me that Amazon would have no interest in restricting the play. is it the producer of the content that resticts the play through some form of licensing or is it apple that restricts amazon play by limiting access to technology? either way its anti-competitive.
