Youtube videos freeze after a certain amount of time, but audio continues.
As it says in the title, most Youtube videos freeze after a certain amount of time for me, but the audio continues.
Happens on Firefox, IE and Chrome
This happens mostly because of obsolate drivers.

Video freezes for a few seconds multiple times but audio continues ok
Flash freezes for a second or three; audio continues ok.
Happens usually a few seconds in, every 8 seconds or so for maybe 3 times and
intermittent after that (sometimes runs fine the rest of the way). Have Vista64
IE9 - Chrome and FF doesn't freeze only IE. Disabled hardware acceleration (to
software). Nvidia 440 drivers up to date. Flash up to date: Object
13.0.0.214 ActiveX control: 12.0.9.149
(shouldn't that be same as object?). Not a buffer problem as it loads up
usually at a good clip ahead of playing video. Local storage buffer set at 10MB
(tried higher and lower settings no joy). Would having 4 HD audio drivers
installed have anything to do with this problem? (noticed in device manager). Previous
versions back a few months were doing this too so decided to go on this forum. Thanks.
Hope I didn't miss anything.OK as of today (June 27, 2014) I've had 93 views with no response. I did find a very long thread pertaining to this subject (Flash player stutters for 1 second then continues normally) so I'll tack on to end of that thread with the hopes that something can be done with this annoying stuttering. I want to post my DX Diag text but first update above: It's IE version 9. When video freezes it appears to "catch up" with audio running with no hitch (the whole thing takes a second or two and might happen a few times in a minute video - it ALWAYS happens with a second or two in the beginning though). I even reinstalled IE9 going all the way back to IE7 to make sure I got "fresh" files installed as possible - still same problem after that. With that said below is my DX Diag text. If someone (especially an Adobe person) has any suggestions of where else I can post to get someone talking to me I would appreciate it.

Youtube videos freeze after a certain point and can't be played
Every time I get on Youtube I can watch up to like 30 seconds of a video and then it freezes and I can't play. I've cleared my cache, I've checked for updates, I've restarted the computer etc. Its not my computer I know because when I use Chrome the videos work.
Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
* On Windows you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by quitting Firefox and then going to your Terminal and running: firefox -safe-mode (you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
* Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshooting extensions and themes article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.

My iphone says that icloud has not been backed up in 2 weeks...but after several attemps to back up, it continues to say "the latest backup did not complete"...I did have the phone plugged into my computer & connected to wi-fi..and it was locked...any idea why it won't complete the backup? it says total storage is 5.0 GB & available is 3.3 GB
Welcome to the Apple Community.
You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it.
First check that your device is correctly connected to the wifi/internet (settings > wifi)
If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
If this doesn't help, try turning off some items for back up in a pattern to try to establish if your problem is being caused by specific data on your device.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

Why does my iTunes stop playing after a certain amount of time?
When I begin a Playlist in iTunes on my 2009, 24 in. display iMac, it will suddenly stop playing after a few songs. I have looked through
every setting I can locate, but am unable to correct this problem. Has anyone else encountered this problem? On the webite for the station. look for a Listen link for another type of player. Many stations are going away from streams that iTunes can link to. while you're on the website. look for a Contact Us llink and report your trouble. They might not be aware there is trouble.
Do a Get Info, go to first tab and Edit URL.. Copy and paste the stream URL here so others can test it. -
Use last value if new value not avaliable after a certain amount oft time
Hey guys,
So I want the loop below to execute every half second,
however the "read power in" VI takes around 5 seconds to return a value, which means the loop can only operate every 5 seconds (it waits on a value from the "read power in" VI.
Is there a way to tell the program to use the last value of power returned from "get power" every 0.5 seconds if no new value has been returned?Ahhh, I see why you did this. I thought that diagram looked familiar. You posted this question: http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Search-string-value-to-return-integer/td-p/1330516
You need to use a USR (uninitialised shift register) to remember what the last string was that was not processed and prepend it to the last one. Attached is an example. The inner loop breaks up the string but remembers where it was broken the last time to allow it to spit out the next part of the string on it's next call. The outter loop reassembles the string and only spits it out if it has gotten a full string.

Here is what I'm trying to accomplish. I would like the narration to play on a slide, and some images will appear while the narration is speaking as well. Once the narration is done the questions will appear, and the user can select their answer. I do not see anywhere that I can set timings for the question area. I thought about making this into two slides, but if the user wants to hear the question again they would be unable to since it's on a previous slide. If anyone has an idea, or a workaround, please let me know.
The default objects on question slides (question type, question, answers, buttons...) are embedded in that slide, don't have a separate timeline, and that is why you cannot time them individually at all.
Two possible choices:
Create a custom question slide, using standard objects (over which you have total control), advanced actions and scored objects to transfer the score to a LMS if that is necessary
Use two slides as you already proposed: you can set the objects to display for the rest of the project, so that they also will be visible on the second, question slide. You can add a shape button to a question slide, to have the narration played again if the user wishes, using the same audio clip as you used as slide audio (I think) on the previous slide, now with the command 'Play audio'.

MS Word is losing its save location after a certain amount of time
we are having an intermittent problem where if we create a word document from sharepoint 2010.. then wait a while (1 minute to 10 minutes it changes) then click the save button in word (office 2013) the "Current Folder" (showing the current sharepoint
location) disappears. Does anyone know why this would happen. I have a hunch that its something to do with network connectivity since if I turn off and turn on my network adapter it has the same affect.
has anyone else had this problem? how to troubleshoot (we have been looking at wireshark traces and haven't seen anything obvious)
krdHi krd,
Based on your description, I recommend to verify the things below:
Did you mean the location of the document under Current Folder was missing? So no location was listed under Current Location or Was there another location displayed?
Check if this issue only occurs with the documents in SharePoint. Test with a document stored in your local drive.
Check if the library where you created the document exists or not in SharePoint.
Could you please provide a screenshot of this issue for further research?
Thanks,
Victoria

Video Freezes after Update to 1.1
Video freezes after 20 seconds of play and then resumes with no audio after upgrading to 1.1.
From what I've read, this seems to be a problem when video has been converted using a third party software. It seems at this point, the only way to remedy the situation is to downgrade to 1.0. Here's how to do it without having to restore your ipod:
http://www.digg.com/apple/Howto_downgrade_to_older(iPod)firmware_WITHOUTrestoring
Just as a note, I called applecare and my technician was clueless about the problem. She was telling me to send it in, but I'm fairly certain that this isn't a hardware problem, just a problem with the upgrade, as people on many other forums are reporting it. In that case, you probably won't get much help calling customer service just yet. Hopefully they'll put a fix out for it soon.
sony vaio Windows XPHi,
I had the same problem and downgraded to the lower version. now the video works without any problem, but there seems to be another problem. when I want to eject the ipod from itunes, I get a message, that the iPod cannot be ejected because data on the iPod is currently used by an external program...
any idea...?

Can a sprite become visible after a certain amount of user inactivity?
Can a sprite become visible after a certain amount of user inactivity? like a timer triggering an event?
Hi Kevin,
You can look at the on timeOut event. (This is not to be confused with timeOut objects)
There are a number of related properties, which date back from the early days of Director, and which seem to have been omitted from recent versions of the documentation, even though they still function. I give them here with their original names (prior to Director 10):
the timeOutKeyDown
the timeOutLapsed
the timeOutLength
the timeOutMouse
the timeOutPlay
the timeOutScript
the lastClick
the lastEvent
the lastKey
the lastRoll
(You can also use the more recent DOM style for these last four properties: _player.lastXXX)
Here's a very simple script which will make sprite 1 disappear when the movie starts, and reappear if the user does nothing for 5 seconds:
on startMovie()
sprite(1).visible = FALSE
the timeOutLength = 300 -- = 5 seconds * 60 ticks / second
end startMovie
on timeOut()
sprite(1).visible = TRUE
end timeOut
If you click the mouse at intervals of less than 5 seconds after starting the movie, then the sprite will remain invisible.
NOTE: Using sprite(x).visible = FALSE will make the entire sprite channel invisible everywhere in the Score. It's better to use sprite(x).blend = 0, unless the sprite must not react to the mouse while it is invisble, in which case it is better to move it off-stage.
Is this what you are looking for?
