YouTube videos no longer play on Macbook Pro
I don't remember the exact time that this started but I keep getting "An error Occurred Please try again later". W\hen I try to watch a Youtube Video. This happens on Safari and Firefox with Mavericks.
I can watch some YouTube videos from other websites but there is no sound. I can watch a video on Facbook from Firefox but the same video in Safari will only play for a few seconds without audio then stop. This happened on other sites with videos.
About 2 weeks ago I had some Malware. The guy from Apple cleared my caches, removed Flip4Mac and did some other things which caused a bunch of other issues. Firefox was like I had never had it set up. All my bookmarks and extensions were gone. I had to completely rebuild it. However I believe I was still able to see videos after that I believe. I had a lot of problems with settings being changed.
The other new things is last Friday I got a new Zoom modem. I'm not tech savvy so I have no idea if that could cause this kind of problem.
Can anyone help me? I don't have a clue where to start with this.

I just restarted my computer and some videos are playing with sound in Youtube and the one I couldn't see on Facebook in Safari is working but other's will not play. Is that just the video?
1. System Preferences > Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
Press the "Delete All" button.
Install Adobe Flash Player.

Download it first.
The next step is important.
Click Safari in the menubar and select “Quit Safari”.
Follow the prompts and install it.
Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
2. Allow Plug-ins
Safari > Preferences > Security
Internet Plug-ins > "Allow plug-ins"
Enable it.
3. Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and other website data:
Press the”Details” button. A sheet will drop down.
Enter YouTube in the search box at the top right corner.
Highlight the YouTube entries that show up.
Click the “Remove” button at the bottom, then “Done”.

I can't watch YouTube videos on my brand new MacBook Pro with Lion. It says I need to download Adobe Flash Player but that won't install. Help!
The same thing happens to me, Safari asks me to update the Adobe FlasPlayer, I download, start the installation process, ask me my username and password in order to install, then see a window where I choose if I want to always install the updates , or ask first, or not inslate updates, and at this point it is not progress, I can not cancel the process, I turn off and turn on my machine.
What can I do ..??

Why do some YouTube videos no longer play in stereo?
I have uploaded over 200 music videos on YouTube (user name "texpaco"), all in HD format. Until recently ALL played in stereo. However, YouTube recently made changes that affect over half of them. They now load with a defaulted 240p playback option which is mono. Switching playback option to 360p on EACH video does allow for playback in stereo, but it has to be done each time the video is accessed. Others videos that load with the same 240p option still play in stereo, and I can discern no rhyme nor reason as to which or why some videos revert to the old mono format.
I have tried browsing YouTube using both IE8 and the latest Google Chrome browsers and with both of them all videos still play in HD (stereo) as before.
Firefox has been my default browser for almost two years and I'm very reluctant to change, but others who use Firefox are undoubtedly experiencing the same problem.
I am using the latest versions of Firefox (3.6.10) and Adobe Flash Player (Version 10,1,85,3), and all other add-on's and plug-in's show current versions with no up-dates available.
I’ve queried YouTube support several times and the best (and only) response has been on the order of “Gee, I dunno!”
Does anyone know what’s going on and what a possible solution might be?

Paige (aka texpaco)Some of my videos default to 360p, others to 240p. Even some of those that default to 240p STILL play in stereo...no rhyme, reason, nor pattern that I've been able to discern. I repeat that this is a fairly recent problem, starting only a few weeks ago, and seems to be limited to FireFox. Until then, ALL my videos played in HD (stereo).
I've tried several times deleting cookies and going back to YouTube as an unregistered user with the same results. I've cleaned the cache (both CCleaner and CleanUp!), done registry sweeps, cleared history, etc....still same results.
I've had a friend go into YouTube also using all three browsers. Her experience was the same...ALL my videos play in stereo with both IE8 and the latest Google Chrome, almost 2/3 of them now in MONO when using Firefox unless playback option is switched to 360p.

Videos no longer recognized by MacBook Pro
A novice here. I have home videos that used to work (.m4v and .mkv) but they no longer do. The size appears to be what they always were (4.12+ GB) but the icon is now solid white and is no longer recognized by anything (QuickTime, Preview, etc.). Can you help me? Thanks!!!

I seem to have experienced the same problem, after applying the APEX 4.0.2 patch, my theme produced errors on the new type of date picker. I use the Bravo theme.
I am now trying to purchase the Delta theme, but unfortunately I see today on the Apex-Themes website that the themes are not available to purchase anymore.
Did you manage to resolve your issue? And do you maybe by any chance know where I can get hold of the Delta theme now?

youtube video is not playing on my mac pro laptop. Just a blank screen shows up where the video should be playing. I have norton anti virus and firewall installed on the laptop. Could it have something to do with it?
unless you have a partition for another operating system, such as Windows or Linux, most mac users would agree that any a/v software is completly unnecesary and will do more harm than good. There is a free a/v in the appstore called "ClamXav. Have you installed all software updates and also have you tried youtube using different browsers (chrome, safari, opera, etc)?

You may consider doing that, it largely depends on what you want the movie for once you have it on your Mac, sending it to YouTube is likely to cause it to lose much of its quality.

Youtube videos doesn't play until they are fully loaded. It doesn't work for ANY streamed video, not just Youtube. It happens on both Firefox and IE. I tried to uninstall Flash and re-install it, but it didn't help. The only thing that solves it is restarting the computer, but it just returns after some time.

The video card affects playback:Although Flash Player can display high-quality video and images by itself, hardware-accelerated scaling uses the video or graphics card on your computer to display images and video more clearly and quickly than Flash Player can on its own.
Not everyone can use it and that's why turning it off helps. Since you have it turned off, then this no longer affects you.
They may be some add on in the browser that is causing this. Kaspersky had been using a URL Advisor that is an "extension"
but whether you have it I don't know. In IE, in the manage add ons, look for "Show"(very light text) and look in all 4 categories for it.
In FF, it may be in the extensions. I'd look in all, addons, plugins & extenstions.
If you find it, disable it. If you don't find it, then all I could suggest is to disable all IE add ons except Shockwave Flash Object and Java and see it there is an improvement. Then do the same with FF.
Hope you find out what is causing it.

Youtube videos taking long time to load.
For the last month or so any Youtube video I watch takes around a minute before it starts playing. I have cleared my cache and cookies numerous times. I actually formatted my computer and upgraded to windows 8.1 today and this problem still persists. I had adblock enabled but I tried to disable that and the problem remained. I have also tried both HTML5 and the Flash versions of Youtube and nothing worked.

My Apple TV no longer sees my MacBook Pro / Itunes Library. Apple TV tells me to turn on Home Sharing on my computer, which I have.
Also:
1. All other ATV connections are working (Netflix, movie previews, etc.)
2. I have all the latest updates for ATV and Itunes
3. Home sharing is turned on for both ATV and MacBook Pro Itunes
4. I am correctly logged in to my Itunes account on both ATV, and Itunes on the MacBook Pro
5. Everything had been working perfectly for approximately one year until yesterday.
I'm not sure what to try next.
