  • Uploading YouTube videos/urls into Cisco Show and Share

We've just purchased the DMM 5.2 and the Show and Share appliance to host internal company videos but there are some YouTube videos out there that we want to pull into our Show and Share system as well. How can we do this? I've tried every possible combination of youtube url and embedded url that is out there, at least nothing that I've tried has worked thus far. I'm able to pull in other internal URLs of different videos (wmv format) without any trouble. Is this an issue with YouTube or perhaps with flv formatted video that YouTube uses (which should work according to the manual).
I know this is a new product, but is there anyone that can help?
    Thank you in advance,
    Chris

    Chris,
The YouTube videos are typically Flash content.
The key here is that you need to download the Flash content
yourself and then Upload to the Show and Share.
Use the DIRECT URL of the Flash Content on YouTube to download
the FLV to you Personal device.  After file successfully download, simply
upload the file to Show and Share.
    For example:
Cisco Show and Share Flash Demo
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzquCVvS0qQ
    * this link is the actual Dashboard URL not the video link
    http://v4.lscache8.c.youtube.com/videoplayback?ip=0.0.0.0&sparams=id%2Cexpire%2Cip%2Cipbits%2Citag%2Calgorithm%2Cburst%2Cfactor%2Coc%3AU0dWRlRRVF9FSkNNNl9MS1hB&fexp=904405%2C901902&algorithm=throttle-factor&itag=34&ipbits=0&burst=40&sver=3&expire=1271466000&key=yt1&signature=1E65C92607546EA03DE0D1082884574D3F58AD0F.93FF9FDB00B10B44BBB52F31AADF3EB50FCEB7CC&factor=1.25&id=673aae095bd2d2a4&
    * Actual URL of Video Content
    ========================================================
FOR THOSE THAT ARE USING OSX & SAFARI:
    ======================================
If you need to download FLASH Content for TESTING in your DMS Solution, You
can download Flash Videos from YouTube.
Note: The Video Quality is NOT HD or even SD...  it is ID (Internet Definition)
Also, the downloaded file will be a .flv Flash File.
    1. Open a Video on YouTube, Google Video etc.
    2. Press "Alt+Cmd(Apple-Key)+A" - A window opens named "Activity".
    3. Select the ".flv" file (looking on filesize helps) and press "Cmd(Apple-Key)+C" to copy.
Paste with "Cmd(Apple-Key)+V" the URL to your Adress Bar and press Enter.
    4. If you need a different video format such as MPEG, WMV, or SWF; you will need to convert
the downloaded ".flv" file with VisualHub or VLC
If this answers your question, Please take time to mark this
discussion answered & rate the response.
    Thank You!

  • How to download youtube videos to ipad without using a computer.

How to download youtube videos to ipad without using a computer???  Looking to download some videos people created using Dr. Jean music.  My kid used Dr. Jean in preschool and wanted to keep singing them at home.
Looking for a friend that doesn't use a computer.  I myself have downloaded some kids educational stuff and added to itunes and then put on ipod/ipad using firefox.
Is there an easy way, so they don't go to the photo roll??
    thanks in advance.

There are some Apps you can use, but be careful they will only download these videos inside the App, so you won't ba able to play them in your video app or share them.
Most popular is the app called "Video Download" but there are a lot of alternatives for free and even with more quality which you can pay for.

  • An easy way to  download and convert YouTube videos to MP3 on Mac

An easy way to download and convert YouTube videos to MP3 on Mac
I’m always attracted by the wonderful YouTube video files, and can’t help myself extracting the amazing audios to save them as MP3 to playback on my iPod and other MP3 players. I guess some of you may want to do the same thing as I do, but have not found an available application to achieve this goal, if so, I would like to share my experience here, and sincerely hope you can get what you need from my post.
The software I’m in use is Pavtube YouTube Convereter for Mac, which has performed very well on all the work I let it do. It can finish downloading and converting YouTube videos simultaneously in a few clicks. Besides YouTube, it can also deal with the video files from many other video sharing websites, like MySpace, Yahoo! Video, Google Video, Metacafe, Reuters, etc.  Okay, let’s go back to the point to see how to use it to download and convert YouTube videos to MP3 on Mac in detailed steps.
    Step 1: Add YouTube URL
Step 2: Select MP3 as output format
Copy and paste YouTube URL to the textbox after “URL”, meanwhile, if you want to save the original FLV YouTube videos, you can tick “Save FLV File”. Click the drop-down icon at the end of “Convert To” to select MP3 as output format. Furthermore, if you want to save the output MP3 file in your specified file name, you can type it into the textbox after “Save As”, and also, you can click “Browse” button to decide where to locate the output MP3 files.
    Step 3: Adjust audio parameters
Click “Custom” button, then the following interface will show up, on which you are able to adjust audio parameters like codec name, sample rate, bit rate and audio channels.
Step 4: Start downloading and converting simultaneously
As soon as all the above steps are finished, you can click the “OK” button in step 2, after that, downloading and converting YouTube videos to MP3 will start automatically. Once completed, you can click “Open” button in the interface as below to get the output MP3 files with ease.

  • Download and import YouTube videos to iMovie for  editing

Download and import YouTube videos to iMovie for editing
YouTube always provides people with raw video materials on all sorts of things happened worldwide in real time. Video lovers are fond of downloading these files as private collection, even using video editors like iMovie to do further editing of their favorite ones, so as to import them to portable devices like iPod, iPhone, PSP, Blackberry, etc. for playback, or upload to their own websites to share with others, or do something else as they like.
However, not all the people have found a proper way to download YouTube videos, not to mention how to add these files to iMovie for editing. YouTube videos are in the format of FLV, which is not a workable format in iMovie, so if you want to import YouTube videos to it without trouble, you should convert FLV files to iMovie compatible formats such as MPEG-4 and MOV in advance. With the special intention of solving these two problems, this guide will show you how to download YouTube videos and import them to iMovie for editing step by step. If you are in need, just feel free to go along with it.
Step 1: Download, install and run Pavtube YouTube Converter for Mac
This converter can process downloading and conversion simultaneously. Once you launch it, the interface below well pop up.
Step 2: Add URL, select output format and set save path
Press tag “Add URL” in the above interface, and then the following window will appear. Just copy and paste the URL of the YouTube video file which you want to download and convert to the text box after “URL”. Then select a supportable format for iMovie by clicking the drop-down list of “Convert To”. Here I choose MOV for example.
Afterwards, you can insert the storage file name in the text box of “Save As”, if not, the program will generate one automatically. Here I save my file as “mycollection”. Meanwhile, you are allowed to hit “Browse” in the opposite side of “Save To” to specify the destination folder. By the way, if you want to save the original FLV files, you are allowed to tick the checkbox “Save FLV File” to achieve this goal.
    Step 3: Custom
This program enables you to adjust video and audio parameters like codec, bit rate, aspect ratio, frame rate, sample rate, and channels, so that you can change them randomly according to your own demands. Generally speaking, the options which refer to values are always in condition of the larger values, the larger file size, but better quality. Do remember click “OK” to save your custom settings.
    Step 4: Download and convert
Once all the settings are done, you can click “OK” button to start. The following window will show you the progress of downloading and conversion.
Step 5: Import the output MOV files to iMovie
As soon as the YouTube video files have been downloaded and converted to MOV or other iMovie workable format, you can click “Open” at lower right corner of the above interface to find out the output files. Afterwards, launch iMovie, and click File > Import to add the output files to iMovie for editing.
    Tips:
    1. This program supports batch tasks so that you can download multiple YouTube video files in batches at a time.
    2. Pavtube YouTube Converter for Mac adopts multi-threading technology, which makes its download speed is faster than any other similar YouTube downloader.
    3. Besides YouTube.com, it can also automatically detect and download online videos in the format of .flv, and f4v from many other video-sharing websites, like Yahoo Video, Myspace, Google Video, Fox and more.
    4. It also provides users with conversion function, with which you can convert any YouTube FLV/F4V files to other formats like MP4, MKA, WAV, AC3, MKV, FLV, MP3, M4A, 3GP, AVI, MOV, MPG, etc. at will.
    5. If you only use it as a YouTube downloader without format conversion, you can take it as a piece of freeware.
All right, this guide is ending up now; hope it will do you a favor while downloading video files from YouTube as well as importing them to iMovie for further editing.

It's a clip from CNN (with all credits etc. added). When one refers to it as a clip posted on "YouTube", then people understand the quality will be poor.
I've watched television go from everything shot on a tripod with clean, meticulous editing rules, to almost anything goes. It has to do with cultural reference.

  • Why doesn't YouTube video work in my webpage?

I've researched Dreamweaver itself, Adobe in general plus any other information source but cannot get a YouTube video to work in my web page.  I've done all the 'Share', 'Embed' stuff, created divs, ignored divs.........nothing works.  I copy the code in, it looks fine, go to preview and browser and either I get a grey box or nothing at all!!  Can anyone help me with this please?  I'm currently using Dreamweaver CC  2014 and it's driving me to distraction.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Is it not working in Live View, local preview using a browser, or online after uploading?
Youtube videos and local preview browser settings don't tend to get along.
For all of my youtube embeds, Design View shows a gray box. Live View shows the space for the video and a "could not load" error because the youtube embed I use has a protocol relative link (starts with //) and uses file: instead of http:. When uploaded the file works fine because the current page uses http so the protocol relative link adds it in the browser.
If your site only uses http pages (no https) add the http: in front of the // to get it to display in Live View and local previews.
If none of the above pertains to your situation, could you post a link?

  • Experiencing resolution glitches when watching Youtube videos. Screen will glitch out, strange shift in screen orientation, as well as total resolution failure. Any wisdom on how to overcome this?

I have a Macbook Pro Early 2011, and am currently at 69 GB free on the 400 GB space. When I play Youtube Videos or visit websites which stream video, as well as when I run certain high graphics applications (games particularly), the resolution will just crash.
I have read a bit about this online, and have found that it has to do with the CPU and GPU being under heavy load. I think it's a bit silly that the Macbook Pro can't handle a Youtube video, however, so I hope that I may be able to remedy the problem.
    Thanks for the help.

Flash Player is 'embedded' into Chrome - and sometimes that's not a good thing. Right now Chrome has the largest market share in the browser wars, though, so I suppose they've some success with the embedding of the player.
Personally, I use Firefox and have had no problems. Safari is good, I just prefer the support of Firefox (which doesn't work with some other Adobe plugin for inline PDF viewing, though).
I don't know why you're having trouble with Chrome - it is very graphics intensive, I know, and has 'broken' in the past with some GPUs. I'd just make sure that you've the latest version of Chrome and if you still have problems, just use Safari or Firefox.

  • How can I insert a link to a YouTube video in RoboHelp?

How can I insert a link to a YouTube video in a RoboHelp CHM topic or in a WebHelp topic. On YouTube, I can select Share \ Embedded and get this HTML:
    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/hz1egoBSukE?list=PLAAC40DA8171E6038"  frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

  • The easiest way to put a YouTube video in iWeb...

Whew! I am so stinkin' proud of myself. Now this tip isn't for you techno gurus out there. This is for the person who is as clueless about half the files on their computer as I am.
I have a blog. I tried to use iWebMore...I've tried iWebEnhancer...etc, etc. I just can't figure out how to import YouTube with those. I've got major iDisk issues that I cannot identify much less resolve.
So here's the tip. A couple weeks ago I downloaded a widget called TubeSock for YouTube videos. I finally opened it up to see what it was and guess what? All you do is copy the url of the video right into Tubesock and "save" it to "video for Mac" and "add to movies folder." Ta-da! So then in iWeb you just insert a movie clip and it's right in there. Drop and drag!
If you download TubeSock for free, then it only records 30 seconds of the video. But registering it for $15 lets you download the entire video. (Some of us will pay anything for easy!)
Let me know if you're as happy about this as I am because I cannot BELIEVE I figured something out on my own!!!
Btw, the url to Tubesock is http://stinkbot.com/Tubesock
    ~G
    http://web.mac.com/franke5

Great find Gina. The best thing about using uTube on your site is that it doesn't use up your bandwidth. And I can also tell you that once you figure out how to do one thing with iWeb the rest comes very easy. Hopefully in the next version of iWeb you will be able to add a piece of HTML code right in the site, rather than having to add it post publish. Keep up the good work!
P.S. If your interested in the way to add a uTube video in your iweb site just post your question in here. There are a lot of talented people in this forum willing to share information and ideas.

  • Youtube video's | bug?

    Hello all,
Since a couple of weeks were distributing folio's. In this edition, a page contains 6 different youtube video's. I've created a box for all video's, inserted their URL by youtube's share - embed. In Adobe content viewer everything works
Now once i upload the folio and test it on my Ipad, i see all video's loading/filling the box (6 different covers). Once all video's are loaded/filled in their box, they all are getting replaced by the first video. So you can see, and play, 6 times the first video.
Does anyone have a similar experience and a solution?
    I use Indesign CS6, v 8.0.1.
    Best Ewout
    Ipad (wrong):
    Content viewer (good)

I see it loads properly in a second or so, once all movies are loaded or placed in their containers, their 'replaced' bij the first one.
The embed code is used in Folio overlay > webcontent
Settings: Autoplay on, delay 0s, userinteraction on, rest of the options are off
    Up here the embed code:

As i said at the start, members of the Power Uses or Administrators group don't have this issue - but as 99% of our users are "users" and not really an option to make them all members of PU group.
Same also happens if the computer is removed from the domain.  Admin & power users work, standard users crash IE.
Uninstall and reinstall of Office 2013 and IE11 has no apparent difference.
    Assistance in this is appreciated.

What version of Premiere Elements are you using on Mac?
Export your Timeline content to a .mp4 file, using export settings which have been customized under the Advanced Button/Video Tab of the export's preset.
See Publish+Share/Computer/AVCHD and .mp4 category. The exported file is then uploaded to YouTube at the YouTube web site.
If you post the properties of your source video and project settings, I will suggest the settings for the Timeline content export to file saved to the computer
hard drive for upload to YouTube at the YouTube web site.

    Hi,
Could you please provide the complete error message you'e received here, or share a screenshot here if possible?
As per your description, seems it's a security setting in your Office client. By default, Office will prompt security alerts about links to suspicious websites.
Maybe you can try to turn this detection off and check result. Please note that we do not recommend this as this will increase your security risk. Please carefully consider the risks, before making any Trust Center settings changes:
Go to FILE>Options>Trust Center>Trust Center Settings...>Privacy Options, clear Check Microsoft Office documents that are from
or link to suspicious Web sites check box.
Let me know if issue persists after this.

  • For whatever reason I can't get a link to a youtube video to work no matter what, other URLs work fine

Title says it all really. I have an image button on my website, and when clicked should link to a youtube video. However, no matter what, I always get www.mywebsite.com/www.youtube...etc. And yes I know you need http:// in there or something to get it to work. I've tried every variation of the youtube link, including the shortened one it gives when you click the share icon. But no matter what, I get the same result. I've tried deleting the whole thing and starting from scratch too. I have other images that link to other websites, and those all work fine. It's just this youtube one. I've even tried copying one of those, changing the image, and posting the link there. Nothing.
Maybe I'm just missing something. I'm not the most experienced person with the software, so bear with me. I'm using CS5.5. Let me know if there's anymore info I can provide to help.
    Thanks!

If your website host has a caching engine turned on, you might not be able to see the most recent version of your page right away. If I remove https:// from your link, I can replicate your results. Have you tried saving your page with a different name, and uploading that as a test?
If you mouse over the two graphics in the following link, you can see that the one on the left will add my website link to the URL, while the one on the right works as expected: Link Test
