YouTube Widget or NOT

I tried to get YouTube widget going again. Waited/talked to agent "Anahi". He had me do the things I had already done like reset the router etc. I gave him my ip address and he reset the boxes and no good. After an hour or so of running up and down stairs (and I'm not as young as I once was) he said he spoke to another department and he informed me the widget is not working from their end. This has been going on for a long time and they never inform people. If one departnent knows something then they should all be aware. Then again when you are world's apart...... PS for the short time I had Youtube it was good, I'll cherish those few weeks!

This function would stop if you are not on the very latest version of the Media Manager software on your computer. Please uninstall and install the latest at www.verizon.com/mediamanager.

Youtube widget works not correctly?

Hellou everyone, I have placed the Youtube widget on the slide of my CP7 project. In preview mode (F12) all works correctly and widget displays video from youtube. After publishing to SWF output, the slide is sometimes blank, sometimes show the Youtube content. I dont understand, why. Any idea, please?

Are you uploading to a web server and testing from there or testing locally from your own hard drive?
If the forner, your issue may be insufficient bandwidth.

Photo Gallery & Vimeo & YouTube Widgets does not appear

Hello Forum,
I created a new homepage. www.pengpalast.de - If you click on "the holycoaster s(hit) circus" at the front and then on photo, you will see, that there is no gallerx. But i created one in I Web, also a Trailer (with the embeddes function of vimeo) on the front page, directly under the links (the hole between links and facebook). Why does this happen? Is it because i have a picture for the Page background? All Vimeo, You Tube, Photo widges does not appear on my page.
And it is a beta version.. there a lot of formation faults on the page, please don`t mention, i just wanna clearify the big ones.

It appears that not all of the files are getting uploaded. Particularly the Scripts folder. So if you're using iWeb to upload to the server change that and publish you site to a folder on your hard drive and use an FTP client like the free Cyberduck to upload the site folder to your server.

YouTube Widget

I have just been updated with the latest version of Muse CC and can confirm that the YouTube widget does not work but the Vimeo widget does. With the YouTube widget you simply get the logo and no controls and it will not connect to the video when you change the ID for for the targeted video

It will also load and play the video when used via Preview Page in Browser or Preview Site in Browser. The logo appears only in Design view and the built-in Muse Preview.
Google changed their video player in a way that's exposed a crashing bug within Muse (or more accurately, Adobe AIR). Unfortunately the right fix involves a major architectural change in how Muse generates the proxy image displayed in Design view and in how Muse provides the built-in Preview. To provide a quicker "fix" for the crash, we've made this change to the widget.
You should see the YouTube widget fully operational again in the next major update to Muse, which is due out later this quarter (Q2).

YouTube widget not working in F12 preview

Hi all,
I am having some issues with the YouTube widget. Where previously it has worked in the F12 preview, it now does not. It works after publishing, but this is frustrating because I need to do a lot of fine tuning.
Any suggestions?

The best way to test You Tube (and Web Object) interactions are from a web server. I use XAMPP, it is very easy to set up. During testng, I just publish to that webserver's folder directly and check it on the browser.

YouTube Widget not displaying video in Preview

Dear All,
I've embedded my YouTube share code within the YouTube widget, and the message comes up: "unable to generate thumbnail". When I got to a live preview of the page/site, the YouTube play box comes up, but says: "an error occurred, please try again later." I'm working with the latest update on Muse on an iMac 10.10.3 with Java script turned on and the latest Adobe Flash player installed. I've read all of the bug reports on the YouTube widget, but they were all over six months old and I assumed the bugs should have been fixed with the latest Muse updates. Any suggestions as to why the widget isn't working and how to work around it? Nothing crashes, but it just isn't bringing up the video.

Dear All,
I'll answer my own question after a chat session with Adobe support. When you paste in your video ID from your YouTube share box, don't enter the https://youtu.be/ characters -- just enter your video ID characters that follow after. After entering the ID correctly, the YouTube preview opened up without problems in my "Preview Site in Browser screen". Such a little thing to waste so much time over, so I'm posting it for everyone in the future to see and learn from! I was used to just copying and pasting the entire url, but not so here! Youtube Widget not working when publishing to folder.

I am having trouble adding youtube videos into my site. I am publishing to a folder than uploading, and all goes fine except the youtube widget doesn't activate when uploaded. Any thoughts on why this is happening? I did a quick work around using html widget, but would rather it been clean and the iWeb way...

YouTube Widget not working

I have embedded teh YouTube widget in my web page created with iWeb, and verified teh URL is correct, but the widget still says teh URL is invalid. I can copy and paste the URL directly in my browser and it works fine. Is there a setting somewhere that might be blocking the URL from within the YouTube widget?

You may want to take your question to the iWeb forum - iWeb is no longer supported by Apple but there are still some iWeb users out there and that's the forum where the experts hang out.

Muse crashes when using youtube widget?

I am aware that this question has been asked before. But the answer provided does not solve the problem. I am using Muse 2014.1 and it seems that the problem with the YouTube widget is still there. It crashes when (1) I try to create a youtube gallery including it in a composite widget, and (2) it crashes also when I use it as a standalone widget. Any thoughts? Similar problem also with the vimeo widget -- Muse cannot create thumbnail.

I've received the initial file and am investigating. Please send the additional files. Please also send the MuseLog.txt file from your Documents folder. It should contain a bit more information about each error you've encountered.
This initial file appears to have a fairly involved menu that's severely corrupted. I'm attempting to surgically remove it from the file but internally many many small objects appear to be involved.
Do you recall anything unusual that may have occured while working with a menu today? The corrupt objects all appear to have been created between 10:30 am and 6:30 pm today your time. If you're seeing this in other files, did those files start as copies of this file or with objects copied and pasted from this file, or are they completely independent?

Wrapping text around YouTube widget

Does anyone know how to get the YouTube widget to appear inline? I tried to follow the steps below, which works fine for photos, but can't get it to work with this widget. If it's not possible, is there a workaround?

To make text wrap around an object:
Starting with an existing block of text on your webpage, place the insertion point in the text where you want the object to appear.
By adding an item at a text insertion point, it becomes an inline object. This means text can wrap around it.
Do one of the following:
To add a photo, movie, or audio file, drag the file to the insertion point in the text while holding down the Command key.

Unfortunately you can't paste a widget into a text box. The only way to get what you want is to create a transparent shape the size of the widget and insert that into the text box. Then move the widget over the transparent shape. It will appear like it's inserted into the text box.

YouTube Widget on FIOSTV unusable

Maybe there's something I'm missing but Youtube on FIOS TV seems to be unusable by design, at least if you have a slowish PC or in-house network is slowish (e.g. wireless).
I get to the Youtube widget on my FIOS TV, get the lists of videos from YouTube, choose one and select. However, it is unviewable because it stops and starts.. (The feed is too slow for real-time video via my wireless network and laptop I assume and there is no buffer.)
OK. No problem I think, this often happens on PCs too - Just pause the video, wait for the feed to download some more of the video, then play and it will be able to keep up..
Well, nope - As soon as you pause, the widget stops downloading so it never gets a buffer loaded!
OK, Well surely you can just restart the video (under "options") and, since many seconds are already loaded, you have a buffer and it will work right? Nope! The "Restart" option thows away what you have and starts reloading from the beginning again while trying still to play in real time!
OK, Well then exit to list and re-enter. Maybe it will keep the buffer then? - Nope! Reloads from the start forgetting everything it loaded previously...
Well - My conclusion is "YouTube Widget on FIOSTV is unusable"
What did I miss??
(or do I need to use a fast desktop and wire it direct with cat5 cable to the router which would be a real pain!)

I have media manager running on a wireless computer and I am able to see video and audio with out any skips or drop outs. Of course the video plays in a small window and you have to click another button to get it to go full screen. The programming is a kludge. Playing one video after another causes the screen to flicker a few times and drop out a few times.
Verizon should only put this out a beta software. That way if it works for you.... great and if not OH well it is beta... People expect this to work. I have a blue ray player that will play YouTube videos and transition between vids with none of these problems. Verizon needs to down to the local high school and get some real programmers that understand what people really want.

That's not currently an option in the Muse youtube widget.
We'll add support for that option in a future release of Muse.

Youtube Widget 16:9 aspect available?

I search through the program and couldn't find a way to change the frame to 16:9 aspect...
I can add my videos, but that ugly 4:3 takes up a lot of unused space...

You can change YouTube widget to 16:9 by change its default setting. If you are comfortable with Terminal.app and/or Unix command then try the following:
1) quit iweb
2) launch Terminal.app in /Applications/Utilities/ folder
3) copy the following and paste in Terminal window then hit return key:
/usr/bin/defaults write '/Applications/iWeb.app/Contents/Resources/Widgets/YouTube.iwdgt/Info' DefaultWidgetWidth -int 570
note: you will need to log in as admin to make this change.
Alternately, you can use Unix defaults write command to turn off AspectRatioLocked setting, then you won't be locked in 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios.

Prevent YouTube Widget or Snippet take you out of my site (To YouTube Site)

I'm wondering if is there a way to prevent YouTube widget from taking me to the YouTube site in a new window when I click the clip the second time.
Also is there a way to autoplay a YouTube clip on my site?

You can use the latest free player from JW LongTail Video to reference the file uploaded to YouTube, get the embed code and paste it into an HTML Snippet.
This player gives you a choice of 5 skins and the option to autostart. It also has the advantage of working on the iPhone and iPad......

Cp7 YouTube Widget - Stop at a particular time

I realize the YouTube widget can be set for the video to start at a particular time. Is there also a way to "stop" at a particular time in the video? For instance, there’s a long video I’d like to use, but I'm only interested in the first few minutes.

No, not possible. The learner has to do that manually using the default YouTube playbar.
