    FastFox, a program that can extend by me selected letters to words or whole sentences, and even draw up tables in Wikipedia, has stopped working in Firefox. FastFox has always worked very well with FastFox, but not anymore. FastFox still works excellent in Mozilla Thunderbird, Google Chrome and Safari, but not in Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox 3.6.6. I need help with this because I am disabled after a meningitis caused by medical doctors in 2005. I rely on automatic writing programs, and unfortunately does not the alternative program AllChars work in Windows 7. I do not know of any other similar programs, which write "The United States of America" when I write the code that I have chosen - "USA+". I have not downloaded any new extentions to Firefox.

  • JavaScript code frequently stops working in Firefox 2.0.0

    == Issue
    ==
    Firefox is having problems with certain web sites
    == Description
    ==
    I have the following code in my JSP page. Based on some certain business logic I need to hide some toolbar buttons.
    <code>function displayToolbar()
    var oPageHeader = parent.window.frames[0];
    var aTDItems = oPageHeader.document.getElementsByTagName("td");
    for (i = 0; i < aTDItems.length; i++)
    if ("Loading view..." == aTDItems[i].getAttribute("title"))
    if(aTDItems[i].style.display == "none")
    aTDItems[i].style.display = "block";
    }</code>
    This works fine in Firefox 3.6.3.
    When it comes to FF2.0 it works for some time and then stops working. If I manually clear the browser cache, again it starts working.
    I can upgrade the browser to latest FF to fix it, but some of our customers use FF2.0.
    Any help or suggestion will be well appreciated.

  • CTRL+H and CTRL+B have stopped working for Firefox. Every other CTRL command works. What's wrong and how do I fix it?

    Whenever I want to open my history (CTRL+H) or my bookmarks (CTRL+B), I use those commands. They've always worked. Yesterday, they mysteriously stopped working. Every other CTRL+KEY command still works flawlessly.
    I haven't done anything out of the ordinary in the past few days, and I've already tried to restart my computer. What could be the cause of this?

  • Printing function (to paper, and to pdf) stops working in Firefox 6.0

    All webpages give windows error (audible), but no error message, when printing with Ctrl+P. The same webpages will print in Microsoft IE 8.0.
    I have reset printer in Firefox, updated, un-installed, re-installed, all add-ins or extensions, when printing worked, but has since stopped working again. I have minimum add-ins and extensions 'enabled' now, and printing still does not work.
    Curiously, the Firefox, File, Print Preview menu option works to preview the webpage, but it is then unavailable for actual printing.
    Where on earth is the problem?
    Should I revert to previous Mozilla Firefox version?

    An automatic Firefox update from v6.0 to v8.0 yesterday had again prevented the same webpages being printed that previously worked fine (to paper or to pdf).
    These webpages will print to paper or pdf in IE8. The problem obviously lies with Firefox and its latest update. Pressing Ctr+P, an audible sound is heard once, and no print dialog box. in Firefox Menu Print-Preview the webpage is visible, but again Ctrl+P causes a warning sound, and no printing dialog box.
    I'm going to have to revert to a previous Firefox version.
    Anybody got a clue out there?

  • Google maps "get directions" between two points stopped working in firefox

    When using google maps to find directions between two points "Get Directions" it will just sit there loading... never finishing and showing the routes between the locations.
    This used to work fine about a month ago. I have not done anything, expect update Firefox.

    I can still get the basic directions to work in Google Maps, but recently the 3D driving directions has stopped working, and I'm pretty sure it stopped just about one Firefox update back. I realize this function is gravy to many people - a toy - but for someone who uses visual cues it has been extremely useful for imprinting the information in my mind, familiarizing myself with the route ahead of the drive. When I am traveling without a 'navigator' - a passenger who can read the directions as I drive - this is a huge help. Today I got a message about updating the GoogleEarth plugin, which I did - twice! Still no 3d directions, though suddenly the GG 3d driving simulator works. This has to be a FF problem :-(

  • Drop down selection menu stopped working on Firefox 16

    Hi there,
    I have a drop down selection menu (<select></select>) on my website that triggers an ajax function to display a specific table using jquery's datatable. Prior to firefox 16, the selection menu worked fine. I clicked on the menu, and the options showed up. However, ever since I upgraded to firefox16, the selection menu doesn't work as expected anymore :S
    Here's the thing, first time I clicked on an option, selection menu expanded, and I can click on any option to trigger the table change function. Everything is working fine till that point.
    It's when I clicked on the selection menu the second time, the selection menu stopped working. It didn't even expand and show any options. I checked with firebug (No js error). I tried safemode/hardware acceleration option I read from another thread, it doesn't work either.
    I checked with the firebug console log and I noticed the click event was being triggered whenever I clicked on it, but my selection menu somehow just won't expand (The options are in the html). I checked with all the other browsers as well, and everything seems to be fine (Even the previous version of FF).
    Strangely enough, when I click on any other elements on the website and then go back to clicking that selection menu, the selection menu seems to have reset to my 1st step's state. (It stopped expanding as soon as I chose an option though and I will have to click on another element again.)

  • Gmail attachment stopped working in Firefox with latest update. What to do?

    My Gmail attachment function stopped working with the latest Firefox update (Aug. 2014). Things I tried that didn't help include:
    1. Re-installed the latest version.
    2. Restored to my earlier version.
    3. Cleared cookies.
    Gmail functions just fine in IE, but I would rather stay with Firefox if I can. Any suggestions?

    If you can't add attachments to Gmail messages then you need to add an allow exception to allow pop-ups for this Google website (mail.google.com).
    Easiest to do this is to click the padlock on the location bar and click the "More Information" button to open the "Tools > Page Info" window with the Security tab selected.
    Proceed to the Permissions tab
    Remove the tick on "Open Pop-up Windows" > "Use Default" and click the Allow radio button to change the permission to allow pop-ups for the mail.google.com domain.

  • Why did my right click and drop down lists suddenly stopped working in firefox? How do get it fixed?

    I have the latest firefox there is and one day when i opened it, the right click button stopped working. Then even the drop down litsts stopped working. For example if i click on the firefox icon in the top left corner, nothing happens. I have tried to reinstall firefox. No help. I don't know what to do. So if don't get rid of the problem I guess I'll just have to swich to another broswer, because this is a really really anoying bug...

  • Possible Work-around: Flash Player 11.5 stops working on Firefox 17

    On Windows Vista SP2, Firefox 17.01, and Flash Player 11.3 through 11.5.502.135, I have experienced repeated and consistent error messages saying that Flash Player has stopped working, and with r502.110 Firefox crashed after the first of these messages.
    Googling about, I found an old (3-year plus) work-around that some clever people have applied to the current Firefox and Flashplayer, and it works for my problems on my systems:
    Edit Firefox about:config, toggling the line “dom.ipc.plugins.flash.subprocess.crashreporter.enabled" from “true” to “false.” Close about:config, exit and restart Firefox.
    I do not know what an equivalent might be with IE, since the problem seems to occur there, too.
    I do not know whether this affects the FP sandbox, but have found no indication that FP sandbox functionality is affected or security compromised. Adobe engineers would have to answer that.
      Also, while they are answering protection questions, what is the effect of disabling Flash Player Protected Mode? This has been a suggested work-around by the staff here, but no one seems to know what the security exposure would be if the sandbox is disabled.

    We have a new 11.6 beta available that you might want to try.  In addition, please see this FAQ for Firefox troubleshooting steps.
    How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?

  • Flash suddenly stopped working in Firefox

    Hi
    Over the last month or so I've updated Firefox and Flash a couple of times, and at some point flash stopped working and no longer loads videos. For example videos on youtube, or bbc iplayer don't play. I'm not sure at exactly what point it stopped working, and therefore don't know what I could undo.
    In firefox plugins page flash v16.0.0.235 is showing up as installed and always active.
    I've tried uninstalling both firefox and flash and then downloading new installs and reinstalling with no change.
    I've also tried Mozilla's list of troubleshooting suggestions to no avail...
    Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems | Firefox Help
    Firefox version 34.0.5.
    I'm running Win 7 pro 64-bit, fully up to date.
    Any suggestions would be gratefully received as I am drawing a blank and don't understand why a fresh install of both programs doesn't fix the issue.
    Thanks in advance!
    Tom

    For anyone interested, I tried installing previous versions combinations, and for once it seems that it's Firefox where the problem lies.
    If I install Firefox v33 and Flash v16 then videos work fine.
