YouView box hangs on start-up since latest softwar...

Since upgrade to 10.6.0 box won't come out of standby mode.
Blue light comes on but no video.  Have to switch off and on again then doesn't restart the recording.
May just be when box is recording that the problem occurs.

Problems Receiving Emails and some data on WIFI since latest software update.
My blackberry torch will not receive emails on wifi since the latest software update, I've tried numerous wifi networks and several handsets, even had them replaced and received a brand new. Still the same problem.
When turning off the wifi network on the torch, the phone will stall for 5-10min while it tries to communicate with the network (vodafone) to receive outstanding emails and data.
Can someone please inform Blackberry and get a quick fix on this

Sounds like you have Do NOt Disturb turned on.

  • Can't shut down since latest Software Update

Software Update failed, see thread on following post:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=6866395#6866395
Basic summary - Software Update wouldnt install latest Security & Safari updates. I managed to verify & repair my disk using Disk Utility. Software update still didn't work, so I downloaded latest security update & safari 3 manually. Restarted ok.
However, I now can't shut down my laptop. Apple Menu > Shut Down just doesn't work. Nothing happens. Same with Restart or Force Quit. Sleep is working fine.
To shut my computer down now, I have to press & hold the on/off button.
This has happened a few times over the last couple of years, but since latest update its constant, have to force shut down every time. Disk is verified ok by Disk Utility.
Not keen on doing a full OSX re-install just yet, so any ideas?
    Cheers

    HI B Real,
How much free drive space do you have on your PBook? If it's less then 15%, that could be your answer. The easiest way to find this information is to open a Finder window. At the bottom of that window the free drive space will be displayed. If it's 15% or less... that could very well be your culprit. Transfer files to an external drive/iDisk/iPod, or CD/DVD's if your PBook has a SuperDrive.
Also, maybe your Software Update preference file is corrupted. Try this... locate this
file: com.apple.softwareupdate.plist It's here: Home/Library/Preferences. Open the Preferences folder, locate that file, drag it to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot.
    I hope something helps...

  • TS3274 iPad does not start after the latest software update

After downloading the latest software update on 25 April 2014, my iPad does not start. The reset mechanism does not have any effect. I would be thankful for advice.

If the reset doesn't work, force iPad into recovery mode.
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.

  • Problem with starting webservice since latest patch.

Since we updated our NWDS and Server to (SP03 PAT0001) the webservices we create as a starting webservice for or BPM process don't appear in the single service administration. When we try to start the process manually from the process repository we can start it normally but in our scenario we need the starting webservice.
First thing we thought was that because of the patch some things in the project got corrupt and that's why it doesn't show but when we created a new project and build a small test with it we ran into thesame problem. We did the exact same test with a previous version of the NWDS and with that one we were able to get the webservice.
Did anyone else run into this problem ? and is there a way to fix it ?
To reproduce just do the following steps:
    - create a Process composer project
    - Create a WSDL in the project with only 1 operation with only a input structure.
    - Create a process
    - Set the WSDL as interface for the start
    - Added a user for the swimming lane
    - Add a userInterface or Automated step.
    - Deploy

    Hi,
Normally there should not be any issue with the upgrade, but in your case if something that was working previously is not working after upgrade without any changes being made then there might be some functional issue and it would be better to raise an OSS Note with SAP.
Plese keep us posted on this as we are also planning an upgrade soon.

  • Youview BOx freezing during start up

    Hi All,
As the title suggests, when I turn my box on using the remote,
its begins its start up process.
Usually the box would force my TV to switch to that input -
however the past few days it has not.
I manually switch the the HDMI input and the "almost ready" screen is stuck on one of the circles.
I have tried to leave it for a while to see if it sorts itself out, it has never done so.
My current fix is to switch the box off (From the back), then switch it back on.
Is there any permanent fix or do I have a faulty box?
    Netgear Setup

I have a similar fault....no big deal, just wondered if anyone had the same problem.....
When I put the box into standby overnight, about every one in.........say four or five days....it refuses to come out of standby....the light on the box stays orange and there is no output from the HMDI channel.....and no, I haven't got the remote switched to tv, honest, as when I restart the box - rear switch as said above - my remote works just fine....
I have tried resetting the remote - taking the batteries out, in plain english - and no change. Also, the front buttons do nothing either - thought they might jolt it back to life, but no.
I've tried it on both types of standby too....no change....
Like I said, no big deal...just interested to see if it is just me...

  • My iPad constantly requires rebooting since latest software update.I have done clean install started from scratch and it still continues

My iPad 2 has given me many months of hassle free usage. I have recently [earlyApril] updated the software. Now every time I go to use it I am forced to hold bottom and top button to boot IPad .Eventually it kicks in and as long as I'm using it its fine. If I leave alone it goes down and requires rebooting.
Have tried total factory reset and it continues to malfunction. apple have informed me that a hardware repair would be £206 for a fix or replacement.I find this unacceptable considering the iPad has been well cared for & never dropped etc .Any help greatly appreciated.

So, I have managed to get my iPad to stop showing the "connect to iTunes" screen. I did this by plugging it in to my husband's PC and trying to restore from the backup I left there many many months ago.
The restore FAILED error 3194 (I looked it up it's the same error as the one I got on my macintosh "device is isn't eligible for the requested rebuild"
But the restore attempt mad the "connect to iTunes" screen go away, now it has 4.3.1 again with the special multitouch update.
BUT I STILL CAN'T RESTORE! Why not? I've been searching all over the web and I can find nothing that helps.
It's not like I jailbroke it... can anyone help me please?

  • Crashes ever since latest software update

Ever since I downloaded and installed the latest Apple software updates to my computer (Mac OS X 10.4.9 if I remember correctly, and whatever are the most recent updates to iTunes, QuickTime, and Backup), I've been unable to open Mail. Every time I try to launch it, it crashes and gives me the message "The application Mail quit unexpectedly." The only things I've changed in my computer since the last time I was able to use Mail have been those software updates. Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone suggest ways I can fix it?

Problems arising right after installing a system update are usually the result of some filesystem corruption that should have been fixed first, or not having installed the update properly (e.g. applications running while installing it), or having ignored Apple’s “Important: Please read before installing” warnings, etc.
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
After having fixed all the filesystem issues, if any, reinstall the update using the combo installer:
About the Mac OS X 10.4.9 Combo Update
Mac OS X 10.4.9 Combo Update for PowerPC
Mac OS X 10.4.9 Combo Update for Intel
After installing the Combo Update, the computer may restart twice and the first restart may take several minutes. This is normal.
Take a look at the following articles for guidelines on how to properly install system updates:
    Troubleshooting installation and software updates
    Installing software updates
    <hr>
The above may or may not solve the problem, but will allow us to at least troubleshoot it properly. Post back with your observations when done. In particular, does Mail crash immediately or when it starts to download messages.
If Mail crashes immediately upon start up, the cause could be a troublesome message that Mail tries to load every time you open it. Try launching Mail holding the Shift key down until the main window appears. This tells Mail to not select any mailboxes or load any messages upon start up.
If Mail crashes when it starts to download new mail, try the following to check whether the junk filter could have a bearing on it and post back with your observations:
    1. Either tell Mail to go offline immediately after opening it, or shut down your Internet connection and open Mail afterwards.
    2. Go to Preferences > Junk Mail and disable junk mail filtering.
    3. Go online again.

  • Green pixelated video since latest software 4.0.2

i have videos taken of my child on the iphone 4. they were working perfectly but have since turned green and become very pixelated.
    anyone have ideas why????

I'm having the same problem with some lower-quality videos that played fine on my 3G, and sync up with my iPhone 4, but when they play on the 4 they get all distorted and turn into a green blob. What gives?

  • Crossfader not working properly since latest software update

Since downloading the software update (21/01/2012) - the crossfader that I have set to maximum (12 sec) is not working correctly. It seems to play the next track about 40-50 seconds before the last one has finished !!
I have reset the crossfader to less seconds but it doesn't fade - it just plays the next track over the last but doesn't actually fade !!
Anyone else having this problem ? If so have you fixed the problem and how ????

    HI and welcome.....
It does the same thing when I log in under another user account. My mail application also stopped working at the same time.
Boot from your install disc and follow the instructions here to check the startup disk for errors. See, *Try Disk Utility*
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1417
If the startup disk "appears to be ok", then install the v10.6.5 Combo Update
Then repair permissions. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. If you see any warnings re: SUID messages, they can be safely ignored, information here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1448?viewlocale=en_US

  • Applications crashing since latest software update.

Since I did the last software update (10.4.7, I believe), many of my applications have been crashing pretty much the moment I try to open them. Safari was the first one that I noticed - it's stopped working entirely. Firefox is fine. iTunes, fine. iChat opens, but crashes as soon as I try to send an IM. Same with Adium. Weirdest of all, my Dashboard widgets crash! I'm helpless without my dictionary widget... does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?
    Thanks in advance...

  • Why does my Galaxy s4 wifi turn on even though I have unchecked auto connect? (This happened starting with the latest software update).

I also have wifi-matic app which should keep this from happening, but stopped doing so with the upgrade.

Check sleep mode to be sure Wi-fi is off. Shut down your wifi matic app, clear system cache and do a soft reset of your device. power phone on and reset your personal settings. go into Wi-fi and do your setup again.

  • Is anyone experiencing jerky playback / low frame rate since latest software upgrade?

I recently updated my Apple TV 2nd Generation to 4.4.3 and I'm experiencing jerky playback on films and tv programmes. I'd estimate I'm getting about 15fps but can't tell exactly. I've reset the Apple TV, reset to factory settings etc. and am still experiencing poor playback. It's not my wireless connection as the buffer fills up very quickly and happens with both HD and SD content. Audio is unaffected. Wired up to a Denon 1911 - reset that too - playback on other devices connected to it is fine. Any suggestions/thoughts/concurrences?
    Cheers

found a fix for my problem.
i have a samsung 55 inch tv that i just bought.  Under picture settings is "auto motion plus"...when it is set to off or clear....there is no more problems!!!
Most other threads have noticed the same thing...whatever your tv calls it--disable the setting on your tv that upscales your rate or that tries to reduce motion blur.

  • Youview box starting up woes

Hi Folks, I'm rather new to all this forum malarkey and not in the least bit technical but here goes.
I returned from a week away this week to find my BT Youview box won't start up properly, having been left in standby mode and left on at the mains, (I was watching TV the day I left and it was working fine).
Upon my return I used the remote control to turn it on which brought up the 'BT logo/waking up screen' followed by the Youview screen with the 'adjust eco mode' message followed by the 'Nearly ready' screen; at which point it cuts out and does all of the above repeatedly.
I've turned the switch off and on at the back of the box which brings up a red light on the front of the box then a blue light as it restarts but it just does above cycle again.
I've tried the factory reset by pressing the down arrow for several seconds as instructed which then brings up a maintenance message which the box doesn't respond to when I press standby. I've turned it off at the mains and again it cuts out after the nearly ready screen.
I've had the box 9 months since upgrading to Infinity & its always been working ok up to this point. Does anyone know if it's possible to fix this as I would rather not have to put in a call to the BT helpdesk as I know from past experience its a misson to get anything resolved with them!

KG40 - welcome to the community.
Starting up the maintenance mode can be a bit fiddly  so always best to try the process a couple of times - Not sure which Youview box model you have - the guide to using the maintenance mode is at
    http://support.youview.com/articles/Self_Service_FAQ/How-do-I-perform-a-maintenance-mode-recovery-13...
Given that you have been away - I would be inclined to try the following (seperately)
    -   -reboot your router/home hub and try again
    -  power off the Youview box , take out your ethernet cable from the Youview box  , power back on and see if it will start up.
