Z1 compact strange swish sound

Hello,
I bought one Z1 Compact for my wife in December 2014
It's a great phone except one little annoying sound issue which seems i cannot solve it
I noticed from the begginig that from time to time i hear a strange swish sound like when you try to find a radio station and there is no signal at all
This happenes when audio is not used. Most frequest is when using Facebook app during scroll amond videos (videos are not played !!!!)
I tried system repair but nothing changed
Phone has last firmware update 14.4.A.0.157
Has anyone have the same issue? Is it a firmware bug or hardware? Should i send to service center?
Regards,
Razvan

  • Strange clicking sound on my Lumia 930 arround the...

When my camera is not activated, if I mildly shake my Lumia 930 I can hear a strange clicking sound on the upper part of the device, just arround the camera lense. Can it be the lenses just shaking, because when the camera is activated  that sound disappears.

Hi, Tomislav5. Welcome to Microsoft Mobile Community. How long have you been noticing this issue? Did you change any settings on the device that may cause this to happen? Make sure that the system apps on the device are all updated. You may check it by going to Store > ... > settings > check for updates. You may also try rebooting your phone by pressing and holding the volume down and the power keys at the same for 10-15 seconds and see if it makes any difference. you may need to set the date and the time after this operation. We'll wait for your response.

  • Lost swish sound when sending mail

I seem to have lost the swish sound when sending apple mail... sound is on for all else...
how do I get it back?

is there some way to move them to the desktop then dump the main mail folder then - 'get the sound back with fresh account' - then reimport all the settings? (all for less manual work
Let's assume for the moment that you want to do that. You could do this:
    Quit Mail.
Go to Home/Library/Mail and copy the entire folder to your Desktop, then delete the Mail folder.
Go to Home/Library/Mail and copy the com.apple.mail.plist file to your Desktop.
Restart Mail and let it find and/or create new mail account folders for you, then see if your sound is back.
However, since you just setup an email account in the test user account and it worked, that points to the problem being with a corrupted Mail preferences file. So, if you just delete that and then restart Mail and setup your accounts again, that may very well solve the problem.

  • Macbook pro making strange click sound

    Hi.
I have a macbook pro from 2008 running os x 10.6.8 and it has recently started making a strange zapping sound from the speakers. I've searched the forum for answers but nothing seems to quite fit the bill. It seems to happen when I'm running safari although I haven't done a thorough check with which programs it does it. Also when I plug in my apogee duet interface it still makes the noise from my external speakers. I've done a check on the hard drive and it came out green so fingers crossed it's not that.
I'm not sure if it's consequential or not but I use logic a lot and I'm prone to using a lot of plugins son I'm used to the 'system too slow message' but now, often when the computer can't process it and it give me that message it comes with a loud pop aswell, something that never used to happen and I'm sure is not doing any good to my speakers. Sometimes the pop repeats intermittently until I play audio.
Please any help would be great, I've very worried as my beloved computer is getting old now and I can't afford a new one.
    Thank you.

You didn't get a new battery?  No way, was I going to leave the repair shop w/o  a new battery to replace the expanding one.
What did the AS say about the sounds you are hearing from your MBP?  Was diagnostics done?  If not, you need to get a second opinion from another AS or an AASP.  There is nothing anyone here can add.  Your MBP needs to be physically examined fully.

  • Strange knocking sound in OS X

    Hi,
I'm just wondering if this is normal, haven't found any info on Google. My iMac is making a strange knocking sound, but it's coming from within the OS as I can turn the volume up and down on the noise. Just started today and a simple reboot didn't resolve, neither did updating. I had plugged in an external harddrive but I ejected and unplugged it, as well as ejected and unplugged my kindle and ipod.
Anyway. Never heard the sound before, didn't hear any similar sounds under the 'sounds' in system prefs that were familiar. It's a bit like a knocking sound, or maybe a raindrop if you want to get specific
    Anyway any help is appreciated.......

~Bee's response is right on the dot. Like the free "Brady Bunch" font, which causes the same problem, "Alien (Alien League)" has an incorrect internal font name in the same place. The internal names are as follows:
    PS Font Name: Alien League
    Full Name: Arial
    Menu Name: Alien League
    FOND Name: Alien League
Can you guess which one is causing the font conflict? Google uses Arial pretty heavily, which is why you're seeing Alien League replacing it in your browser.

My iPhone 5 dropped on the floor, then I heard a strange noisy sound inside when I hit it on it's back, any explanations ?

Bring it to Apple and get it checked out.  How could anyone here possibly know what happened to your phone without seeing it?

  • FaceTime making strange clicking sound

    FaceTime making strange clicking sound
When FaceTime calls from my MacBook through my iPhone 5 work its a great feature. When it fails, extremely frustrating. I often experience a loud clicking sound when trying to place calls. I can be heard by the person I am calling but I can't hear them, only the clicking. Restarting worked for months to eliminate clickling which seemed to happen after using the headphone port now nothing seems to work predictably, even lost all sound from attempted calls today even after restarting although everything worked fine yesterday. Running MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2011) with OS 10.10.2 and an iPhone 5 with 8.1.3. Would love to see a permanent fix that includes the ability to see voicemail messages on my Mac.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • Strange Alert Sound

For a couple of days now I have had the following problem: Every 30 seconds or so, the system gives off a strange alert sound, one day it's something like a soft "CLONK", the next day it sound like "PHEW" and then back to "CLONK" etc. (the 2 sounds are different from the built-in sound effects).
I suspect that it has something to do with my internet connection, but all the cables are perfectly connected and all programs (Safari, E-Mail etc. ) work normally.
    What could this be?
    Thanks for any help!

    Hello
    I found the culprit !
As I had mentioned, the alerts were NO APPLE sounds. They came from my MS Entourage, where I had recently clicked the "sound when no message" box. So every minute or so, when Entourage checked if I had new E-mail messages and there were none, I got this CLONK or PEW sound !
Well, thanks anyway for your tips - they are always useful one way or the other!

  • New iMac20, strange clicking sound

    Hi,
I have had my iMac 20" MB324RS/A for about 2 week, and from first day I have strange clicking sound like a clock "tick-tock" with 2-3 sec frequency. There is no dependence between this noise and CPU/HDD/CD load etc.
I now, somebody have a troubles like this, but only when display sleepeng. My iMac have this clicking every time after "Power On" regardless of OS was loading or not.
    Sorry for my English

Well... looks like any 5400rpm drive produces such a clicking sound, even though I've never heard it on a 15" PB 1.5 Ghz et al.. The new Hitachi HD isn't as bad as the other one (Toshiba), yet the sound is still very noticeable.
Guess I got to get used to it. On the Titanium PB, the fan kicks in when charging the battery for about 15 min, so a PB 12" with a clicking HD might not that bad.
Traded a yet jet engine for a movie projector, he he he.
The display doesn't look quite as good the TiBook's and it's got a fairly poor viewing angle, yet I knew that already. Besides that, you got to love the 12" PowerBook!!! There's a significant speed increase (1.5 Ghz 1.25 GB Ram, bigger, faster HD vs. 867 Mhz, 768 MB Ram) and - thanks to DesktopManager - the smaller screen is very usable for most tasks. It's much more portable than the 15" and the best of all, all my third party (PowerPC) menu items, preference panes, Latex installation, applications work perfectly. Cloned the TiBook HD and I was up and running within 2 h, thats how long it takes to copy 40GB via FW 400.
Let Apple roll out some great Intel machines and software developers universalize their apps. In the meantime, I'm carrying around a cute little PB. Buying a PowerPC Mac today is a reasonably choice, if you're like me and need to support a bunch of Macs around you. Software reliability is another key point. Joe Average might be tempted to get a fast Macbook though.
Who knows, maybe Apple comes up with a 12" PB replacement tomorrow, which is so good, I'll be kicking myself he he he. Wish list: HD screen (without any strange lines, of course), back-lit keyboard, thinner and lighter, Core Duo.

  • Equium M70: strange screeching sound from speakers

I have an Equium M70 and within the last 2 days have been getting strange screeching sounds from the speakers when using Windows.
Cd's/DVD's seem to run as normal but when I open up I get a piercing high pitched sound for about a minute, if I then click on a link or shorcut I get a double short screech.
I've tried running the system diagnostic test but when it gets to the wav sound check the screech becomes almost unbearable and the whole thing just hangs there util I terminate the test.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I know that I ran into this problem not that long ago. The resolution was to reinstall windows and the sound was fixed. But that was just my case and yours could be a more severe case. Try plugging in headsets and seeing if that fixes the problem. I think that somehow the problem I had was with windows sound files. It played all audio files just fine, except any windows generated wave files, at which point it screeched etc. Recovered with the CD's and it works fine now. Try to use the recovery CD's, if that does not help I suggest taking it to your ASP and have them check it out. Have a nice day.

  • Strange clicking sound when screensaver is activated.

Has anybody noticed a strange clicking sound coming from the right side of the machine when the screensaver is activated? I barely noticed it when I first got the machine, but now it seems to be getting louder.

i switched to that screeensaver.. maxed the volume and the display
put my ear up to the keyboard and screen for about a minute
    silence
... so it is something with your screen
there have been a number of inverter problems as mentioned above
does your scren flicker at low light..
    make noise generally?
    mine is 100% silent...
but along with the noise if you browse these forums you'll see many people who have had the inverter replaced.....
sorry i could not be more help.. i would call apple rather than live with it if I were you...
good luck, sorry i could not be more helpful

  • Z1 strange ticking sound

My z1 makes this strange ticking sound when I tap it on certain places on its body. The best way I can think of to describe it is that something is maybe a bit loose inside, as if the body isnt completely unified.
Has anyone else Xperienced this, or should I get it replaced?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I'm unable to recreate this sound by tapping/pressing on several Xperia Z1. So my suggestion is that you contact a service center and/or your local support team to get information about how you should proceed in this case:

  • Strange buzzing sound under keyboard!!

I keep getting a strange buzzing sound sometimes when I use my macbook. And its not when im using a specific application. It just randomly starts and only stops if I shut the laptop. And after that if I try to open it, it starts to make the sound. What should I do?

wow took me forever to create an account to reply to this.
I've got the same problem on my aluminum macbook.
the sound is quite loud and can hear it over some background noise. it doesnt sound like a typical fan / disk. because i can identify the sound of the fan when it turns on and it doesnt start stop when alot of disk read/writes are happening or stopping. but say it is the disk, im worried.
since there arent a huge swash of people reporting this issue, im guessing its not normal behavior.
lucky buggers in the states can take their units back to the apple store and get it sorted. here in hong kong you've got to argue beg and plead to convince the distributer staff to replace the unit. which also means id be without this computer for some time while they figure it out.
Has anyone taken their macs back and gotten it fixed or exchanged? or is this pushed back on as normal behavior?

  • Strange rattling sound

theres a very strange rattling sound from inside my Macbook. I first noticed it yesterday when i picked it up and heard a small sound so i shock it a bit harder n to my shock i heard a rattling sound i am to worried to open it up incase it falls out and really causes some damage plz help.

You can do one of two things.
Take it to apple and see if they can remove it.
Or you can remove the battery and then remove the l shaped shield covering the RAM and hard drive. Then it may fall out. Depends on where it is in your computer. If this doesn't work you should have apple remove it because it could short you system out.
