I am not positive that's your answer.. it's something you should try.
ALSO, are you restoring a backup each time to the new device?

  • 7500 Prism - Totally Dead. Need some help badly...

Heya! I've had my 7500 Prism for a very long time and the only bad thing about it was that it sometimes used to freeze when playing a video. However, this bug got annoying enough to make me made the snap decision to update my firmware version. So far, so good, but there were no newer versions for my Product Code, so I changed it and updated. Unfortunately, I lost my native language menu in the process (should have known better), and I decided to downgrade. At this point, something during the downgrade went wrong and now my phone is totally dead. It won't boot and it won't even charge. Something like "Charger not supported" comes up and I am using the original charger. When it had enough battery, it went as far as showing the Nokia logo and than turned off on itself. I have tried to fix it by restoring the original version, but the computer can't pick it up fast enough before it goes off again and so all the programs I've tried can't detect the phone. Since I am laical in this area, I've figured someone from the forums with much more knowledge than myself could help me out So, I am open to suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Well I'd lie if I say that I didnt see that comming Okay, thanks, I'll check these unofficial forums you mentioned. I had no idea that something could go so wrong (softwarewise) to render my Prism useless...

  • Razr not charging now totally dead

This afternoon I plugged my phone to its wall charger and about an hour later I when I went to get it, it had not charged at all. Infact it was down to the thinnest red line. By the time I got home it was totally dead. So I got my other wall charger thinking that maybe there was something wrong with the first charger, and again no charge. I also did the power/down vol and no response. It has been working fine, I've never had this problem before and I totally dread the thoughts of having anything to do with the staff at our local Verizon store. Help! Thanks so much.

Hey there slm2110. I am sorry about the charging issues that you are having with your device. It sounds like it needs an energy boost and I am here to revive it. I am concerned that you don't feel comfortable visiting your local Verizon Wireless store. If you have been mistreated in any way, please bring it to my attention so I can submit the proper feedback. I also apologize for the delay in my response and I appreciate your patience.
Were you able to get your phone turned back on?
If the phone was charged, the way to get it back on would be through a soft reset. To do that you would want to press and hold down the power key and volume key on the same time for about 10 seconds. It sounds like you have already tried this and I am sorry if it has not worked.
If you have tried multiple chargers to try to bring it on and it is still off, we would have to look into replacement options. If you are still under warranty we can replace the phone at no cost to you as long as there is no physical or water damage done to the device.
If your outside of warranty, but you have insurance on the device, you can place a claim at www.phoneclaim.com.
If you are outside of the warranty and do not have insurance then we can either activate an older device for you or else you can look into our Certified Pre Owned Program by visiting http://vz.to/rcDvLW.
If you have an upgrade available you can than upgrade to a brand new device. Let us know if you need additional assistance.

  • 10 white iMacs (A1195) all totally dead together. Do they have a built-in suicide date ?

    Hi all
I have 10 white model A1195 iMacs spread throughout 3 different buildings at a school. On returning from 2 weeks break ALL of these machines are TOTALLY DEAD. Power button does nothing at all. Disconnect / reconnect power cord does nothing. Only these machines are affected. All my silver iMacs, and all the old eMacs are working as before. I've had to dig out a bunch of mouldy old eMacs from the dungeons to keep the classroom going! Using same power cords, sockets, k/b's etc. so it's definitely the white machines themselves.
    Any ideas out there . . ??
    Cheers,
    Aunty

If they were without power for a prolonged period of time, it's possible their NVRAM batteries died. Assuming they were all the same age it is entirely possible for them to die within days or even hours of one other.
It uses an inexpensive CR2032 battery and replacement is simple.

  • Phone used in swimming pool for less than a minute, now totally dead.

    Hi there,
One of the features which made me buy the Z3 was its apparent waterproofness. However, the first time I put the phone under water (in a swimming pool) was also the last - and the last time I've been able to use the phone.
I only took a few shots and the phone was submerged for probably no more than 30 seconds total. I checked all the flaps to ensure it was sealed before putting it under but almost immediately the screen started to fade and the phone became almost totally unresponsive. To turn the screen on I had to press the shutter button as the main one did nothing. I rinsed it under tap water and left it to dry but after coming back to it the phone (or screen at least) was dead.
Two days later the phone started making some noises (like low battery, but more erratic over a few minutes) but it's still totally dead. A red LED comes on if you put in a power cable and holding the volume and power button together for a few seconds leads to 3 rapid vibrations but still nothing.
What's the process for getting Sony to check this out and (I hope) repair or replace the phone? I'm in Ireland.
I've had the phone a couple of months and it's been great up to now. It seems this is a common problem and the average response from Sony seems pretty depressing.

You need to either return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care and ask for a pressure and or vacuum test be carried out http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

  • My 3GS iPhone 16 GB IS TOTALLY DEAD

my 3GS iPhone 16 GB IS TOTALLY DEAD. I put in on my pocket with a full charge. When I reached to make a call I noticed the screen was black. Does not respond when plug to the charger or by pressing buttons. Can anyone help?

I had the exact same thing happen to me just today. I made a call, put it away, pulled it out to check the time and it wouldn't turn on at all. I tried to reset, wall charge, computer charge (my computer won't even see that it's connected), everything with no response. Is there any way at all to fix this or do I have to send it in to be looked over?

  • Ipod Touch 2nd Generation stopped working..totally dead!

    Hey.
Hoping that someone out there can help me out..my 2nd generation Ipod Touch has stopped working..wont charge..wont turn on..nada! It did the same thing last week but eventually it charged up and worked again. However this time its totally unresponsive.
I used it last night..turned it off and awhile later tried to turn it on again but it didnt respond. I tried to charge it overnight but its completely dead. I plugged it into a computer and a window appeared to say that everything is updated but still nothing. When I unplugged it and tried again the wondow did not appear.
Its had connectivity issues for awhile now but I assumed initially that it was just dodgy internet connections rather than a problem with the Ipod itself..clearly not!!
Ive tried all the solutions offered on the Apple website but it appears to be totally dead. I only bought it in February this year..its an Apple refurbished model.
Aside from the obvious frustration of now not being able to use it..to complicate matters I'm travelling in South America for the forseeable future so dont have readily available access to a Apple dealer etc.
As its still relatively new I should be covered by the warranty but just wondering what anyone out there would advise I do in order to either get it repaired or replaced given that I'm travelling etc.
Theres no authorized dealers in Cusco where I'm currently living..there appears to be one in Bolivia where I'm heading in a few weeks but I dont even have my receipt with me so I'm not even sure I can get it fixed under the warranty.
Would really appreciate any advice from someone that is a bit more familiar with Apple products and/or has some advice about warranties etc.
    Many thanks in advance.

Any chance this could simply be a battery issue????? I do use it a **** of a lot..! Anyone any idea how much new batteries are?

  • Does it hurt the phone's battery to charge it before it is totally dead?

Does it hurt the battery to charge it before it is totally dead?

This is a heavily debated issue, not only with iPhone batteries, but also with batteries for almost any other electronic device. Some think it is paramount to wait until it is almost drained (10%>) before charging it, while others don't think it hurts it at all to charge it whenever you like. The only thing I would recommend you don't do too much is let it drain to 0% and let it sit in that state for too long. You may also want to be more careful with when you charge it the first few times you do (this is known as conditioning the battery).
Hope that clears it up a bit for you.

Did you try to charge it using the adapter or your computer?
If you can, let it charge for about 15min, then connect in recovery mode, described in this article:
iOS: Unable to update or restore
If still not luck, your battery might have to be replaced:

  • My ipod 1st gen battery went totally dead because the usb cable was defective. I've changed the cable.  now when i connect my ipod to the netbook, itune is not launching automatically and windows does not recognize it......how can these issues be resolved

My ipod 32gb 1st generation battery went totally dead because the usb cable was defective.  I have since replaced the cable but now itune will not launch automatically as it did before and windows xp does not recognize it.  Nonetheless it is charging.  However can i resolve these issues bearing in mind that i am not tech savvy?

have since replaced the cable but now itune will not launch automatically as it did before and windows xp does not recognize it.
Try disabling a/v software and turn off the Firewall on your PC.
    Disable antivirus software
    Turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off
Then connect the iPod to your computer. Launch iTunes. If your computer still won't recognize the iPod check out this article.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
Once your iPod is functioning again, with it connected to your computer, launch iTunes. Select the iPod under Devices in the source list on the left.
Select the box next to:   Open iTunes when this iPhone is connected
That way iTunes should open automatically when you connect your iPod to your computer.
And iTunes / Preferences - Devices. You can have your iPod sync automatically whenever it's connected from the Devices pane.

  • HT201263 iPhone 4S totally dead

Hi.. Last night before going to sleep my iphone4S was about 5% charge and plugged on the charger but instead for charging, it was discharging very quickly till it shutted down and screen got black and no red bar appearing whenever i click the home lor the power button.. Thought it was nothing cause i was so  sleepy and left it charging till this morning, i found my iphone dead with nothing appearing on the screen even if i press the power or home button, totally dead.. Ive tried to plug it on my pc(where i usually sync my iphone) and also tried to press the home and power button to exit DFU like i used to do but nothing happened.. I also tried plugging my charger to my ipad and it works on my ipad and even trying my ipad charger to my iphone but still the same..
I really need my phone for all of my contacts and some lists that are saved in the notes, so hope u can help me with this problem.. I really love my iphone so badly and i really need it..

I also got this same problem like u. I have an iphone 4s, after updating ios 7 it was good for about 3 days.  Then after 3 days suddenly my phone automatically switched off and i was unable to switch it on. Besides the phone was not taking charge from the socket.  And also was not connecting to itunes. Then i pressed the home and switch button for about 7 seconds and turned it completely off. And now after 2 days this afternoon i tried to switch on the phone.  And it was just a miracle that my phone automatically started to work. And now um enjoying my phone then ever.
I think u should try it like me hope that will fine.

  • Iphone 4s will not charge unless the battery is totally dead.

I just got my iPhone 4s 2 days ago. The first day it charged over night with no problem.  The 2nd day I put it on the charger at the end of the day and nothing happened.  It didn't even show that it was connected to the charger... nothing.  I tried turning it off and plugging it in, this gave me the apple logo and turned the phone on, but still no indication of charging.  I left the phone on the charger and went to bed (it was at about 30%) and when I woke up it was totally dead. I unplugged it, then plugged it back in and the charging screen came up and the phone turned on and charged. It took 2 hours or less to charge to 100% and it hasn't had any trouble holding that charge today.  What is going on with this???  I will probably call customer service after work today, but I'm just curious if anyone else has had this problem or knows what is going on! Thank you!

Yes I tried multiple sockets, nothing worked. It was still hooked up when I woke up, but dead, I unplugged and replugged and it started charging.  The night before I had tried everything and there was no sign on the phone that I even had it plugged in other than when I turned it off if I plugged it in it would turn on.

  • Ipad 1, 3g is totally dead

Ipad 1, 3g is totally dead; could not turn it on at any way... and my Apple care was expired. What should I do now?
Already checked to an authourized re-seller, it is said that due to apple care expired; they could not change another ipad for me....and they don't have fixing services.

No problem...my experience has been power issues are  1) battery 2) charging cable or 3) adapter...can you swap out the adapter and charging cable?  If that doesn't work, you will need to look at replacing the battery...
