Z10 and BBM just not working!!!

I have just recieved a Z10 that I am trialling for my company (currently we have 200 iPhones 4's)  and first impression is that its awesome! BUT I cannot use BBM whats so ever!
I put my old BB ID in from when we had BB Storm 2 years ago but all I get is 'Restoring your BBM information' now I know that as a company we all had Storm 2's 3 years ago and moved to iPhone 4's when they were released.
My issue is that it sems if you had an old version of BBM that this issue will happen, so if you take 200 existing BB users who want to use BBM again for communicating with colleagues I can see the iPhone 5 being the preferred handset if no one can use BBM!
Please can someone tell me how the hell you resolve this, I have security wiped the handset 8 times today with no success!!!!
If this is going to be an issue that until a fix is available I think BB will have a lot of people reviewing the phone who will decide its not for them.
Please help I love this phone and I have to admit the iPhone 5 I would rather leave!

Interesting...I'm not sure how your iPhone plays into this, since you used the BB ID from the Storm2...but if O2 says that the account attached to the Z10 definitely has no BIS, then that's not the issue.
Does BBM work via WiFi? Did O2 look at anything else? After all, BBM remains part of the service plan for which you pay O2, so they should provide support, including escalation up to BlackBerry if necessary.
Also, there have actually been widely various reports here as the carriers proceed with the necessary reconfigurations of their networks to accommodate both BB10 and prior devices. Some reported their carrier (I can't recall which) telling them that they must keep BIS in place until that network reconfiguration is complete. Others report their carrier saying that having BIS in place impedes things. And still others report services stopping, starting, stopping again and then starting again -- all for both BB10 and prior devices. Further still, folks report different answers from their carrier when they call back...it's a little crazy with the carriers, I fear.
So, I think perhaps you need to pursue deeper with O2...as BBM should definitely work. And as that's part of your services from O2, they must take the responsibility for resolution.

  • Ringtones and BBM alerts not working

    Hi, I have created several custom ringtones and phone alerts on both mine and my husbands new BB 9320's . These were working just fine for the first few weeks but now the custom BBM alerts will not work on my phone but the custom ringtones do work.  Instead of the custom alert I've selected the alert sound for the normal profile is the one that sounds. However the custom alerts DO work for text messages ! Just not BBM !
    My husbands phone has the exact opposite problem, BBM alerts work, ringtones don't !
    The problem seems to have happened after I had installed some various Apps . So I uninstalled all those apps and I've done both a soft reboot and battery pull on each phone trying to fix this. I also deleted those contacts and their custom alert set-ups and re-added everything from scratch, rebooted again, still nothing. It's been like this for a few weeks now, I just can't figure it out .  Please help !

  • Internet and bbm is not working at all

    basically i have paid for the blackberry services which was 5pounds aswell as being on dolphin plan so should have internet too but all it is sayin wen i got onto it is: thisis a Wi-Fi service. please ensure your device has an active Wi-Fi connection and try again ????  also my blackberry registartion is saying: your hand held has been registered with wireless network and is not working still either, can some 1 please help me thanks

  • Java plugin for Firefox and Chromium just not working

    Hi Arch Users
    I have been suffering with the IcedTea-Web for a while now. My banking service (in their stroke of genius) use java on there online service. So a problamatic plugin means that I am not able to use the website while on Linux.
    The issue is not specific to the bank's website. Doing the following is also problematic:
    1. Go to www.java.com
    2. Click on "Do I have Java?"
    3. Click on Verify Java Version
    4. Chromium does nothing after setp 3, Firefox has a small notification (bottom corner) saying Applet Started but nothign really happens (waited for 20min).
    Searching the Forums, showed people with similar problems with an older plugin. An idea I did get was to use the latest branch and compile it. So I changed the PKGBUILD to download the latest using:

    Please can anyone suggest me a way to overcome this issue. Currentely I have to use VirtualBox to run a browser in Windows (very very painful)!
    A while back I did contact the bank, informing them of the issue was met with a simple "We dont support Linux".

  • Mouse and trackpad just not working - can't use machine

    Hi there,
    I have a late 2009 iMac running an up to date version of Mountain Lion and all has been well until today.
    My iMac behaving very oddly with my trackpad. I have tried switching it our for a wired mouse and I get the same results. This is what I am experiencing:
    The iMac behaves as though I have either:
    clicked and held my finger down - on my desktop when  I move the cursor around the iMac thinks I'm trying to select an area
    right clicked - when I try and click on an icon in the dock, the right click options appear
    Additionally I am experiencing the following
    iMac doesn't respond to me clicking on an icon
    I can't select an option, ie if I do select an option such as 'Continue' (more of that later*) I  can't get the iMac to respond to me clicking it
    Before switching over to my mouse I replaced the batteries in my BT keyboard and the trackpad. I've also tried attaching a USB keyboard (albeit a PC one)
    I have tried the following:
    resetting the V/P RAM
    booting in Safe Mode
    Shutting down, unplugging everything (inc power cord) and left for 10 mins before rebooting
    Booting in recovery mode and reinstalling M Lion - I can't even do this
    * When presented with the recovery options I can scroll through the 4 options with the up down arrow keys, I can select 'Continue' with the mouse or trackpad (it goes a solid blue colour) but I move forward - either by clicking it or hitting Enter on the keyboard.
    I'm now totally stuck as when I reboot (there's been a fair few forced ones) I can't even select my user profile (or any of the Resart/Shut Down options)
    Time to make a Genius Bar apppointment, or is there something else I can do?

    EDIT: I did manage to select my wife's user profile and eventually got into the system, and very strangley if I access the iMac via LogMeIn on my work PC it responds excatly as it should. I can click, select as normal. Even when I'm doing this remotely my trackpad and mouse continue to behave incorrectly (as described above

    Man.. I is such a fool sometimes.
    So I reinstalled ML - which on my cruddy 4 MB ADSL connection took a fair while. And still the problem was there.
    Then I tried one small thing... take the batteries out of the trackpad and then try using the wired mouse. BINGO.
    After a few more tests it has bceome clear that it was the trackpad that was at fault. Not my iMac, not my OS. Having it on would screw up what the wired mouse was trying to do. Should've checked that HOURS ago.
    I have a spare trackpad (I used to have a Mac from work and bought myself a trackpad for it. No longer have a Mac for work as a switched employers, but ironcially willbe getting one next week!). I have installed the 2nd trackpad and all works fine.
    Lesson learned - do more thorough diagnostics!

    I have not had wifi since November when I upgraded to the newest IOS version.  I called the Apple help line and they told me some things to do and I tried them all and they worked for a few hours and then wifi shut off again.  I kept doing what they told me and it worked for a couple more days and then I could never turn it on again.  My blue tooth doesn't work either.  I had to actually increase my data usage with AT&T becuase of this.  When I did that in December I went to the Apple store and was told that it is a hardware issue and since my phone is out of warranty I would have to pay for a new phone because they could not fix the issue.  My upgrade isn't up until June 2014 so not only do I have to wait for the upgrade and I am not paying for a new phone but I have to pay $10 plus extra a month on my cell phone bill because I was going over on my Data!!!  I have been beyond upset about this and Apple is not doing anything about this nor did they offer up some way to resolve the issue because obviously it is not just some rare incident if several people are having this issue.  Who knows how many people out there have had this issue and have not said anything about it.  Now there is a newer update that I can't do because it requires wifi in order to download.
    June can not get here fast enough and I may not go back to Iphone after dealing with this for so long with no help from Apple.

    Thank you for heading me in the right direction.  I reset my Mail account for Outgoing Mail Server to outbound.att.net:(customer ID)@att.net (instead of smtp.att.yahoo.com, per Apple's online troubleshooting information).   I'm not sure what "(Offline)" means when it appears at the end of my Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)??  In the Advanced box I clicked on "Use custom port:  465" and checked "Use Secure Sockets Layer."  Authentication:  Password; I have correct User Name and Password put in.  After doing all this, when I try to send emails again today, they go directly to the Outbox and sit there. 
    What's curious is that my first sent email this morning did go out using the Outgoing Mail Server, smtp.att.yahoo.com: (customer ID)@att.net(Offline) but subsequent emails I tried to send with this server were rejected with the message:  "Cannot send message using the server smtp.att.yahoo.com (etc.).  The SMTP server doesn't support TLS(SSL) on port 587.  Verify your account settings and try again."  That's when I tried resetting my Outgoing Mail Server to outbound.att.net (etc.), as mentioned above, and was unsuccessful in sending out any further emails.  I guess my next step is to contact my email service provider, AT&T, and see if they can help me.  Thanks, again, for taking the time to respond and for giving me your input!  Much appreciated!

    Apps are locked to the Apple ID that was used to download them. You will have to sign in as your brother in order to update it.

Earlier today I upgraded my Iphone 5 to IOS 7 and it asked me to set a passcode, which now works fine on my Phone. I  tried using the OIS7 passcode I use on my Iphone 5 and it did not work and now my Ipad is disabled. Both devices are on icloud and share the same apple id. The Ipad screen says slide to set up but then there is a prompt for passcode, not for setting up passcode

    I called Apple Support and a supervisor helped resolve this for me on my iPad. I suggest calling them for help as this is obviously an issue with the iOS 7 update - she helped me without charge. I could be missing something in my upcoming description, so do not take this as complete - call them.
    I had to update iTunes on my Mac Air to the latest version, and I had an iCloud backup from the day I updated to iOS7. Have iTunes open but do NOT connect your iPad yet. Shut down the iPad. Then press/hold the Home key on the iPad while you connect the USB from the iPad to the computer (an image of the USB cable appeared on the iPad). Follow the prompts in iTunes to restore and then backup using iCloud. When the iPad rebooted again to do the backup install, I got the same pass code issue and iTunes would not recognize the iPad without entering a pass code. I disconnected the iPad, turned it off, pressed the Home key while connecting the USB cable. When I did the restore and backup from iCloud the second time, it worked without the pass code issue occurring.

Once I wrote my password, and for now on, everytime I start the session, another window advise me that "Java SE 6" is missing, due that, the computer can't run some "CS5Service Manager". If I try to install it, the download ends with an error. If finally, you skip the istallation, you arrive to the dock, but the menu bar at the top of the screen doesn't show up.
    In addition, my trackpad doesn't works either. I can move the arrow but i can't click anywhere, probably because the option of clicking by touching is disabeled and I can't performance a regular click.
    I'll be very glad if someone know what the heck is happening with my computer. Anyway, I'm going to the genius bar next Saturday. Thx!

    Thanks. I have been using iTunes since its inception and have never had a problem...I'm using the latest version. The progress bar is the bar that moves when you're playing a song..it just won't start when I double click on a song,..have tried quitting, rebooting etc but nothing works. Apple are useless-they have told me twice they've tried to call me 'momentarily', but I've been waiting by the phone, and they definitely have not tried to call...

    What do you mean "not working"?  That could mean multiple different things.
    If help is desired, be as specific as possible.

    The device is locked to the carrier it was purchased through unless you specifically purchased it as unlocked directly from Apple.
    Only the carrier to whom it is locked can authorize it's unlocking.  To do so, the user much contact them to start the unlock process.

    It appears that this is due to firmware corruption and you can fix it by using the micro USB cable and hooking it to iTunes.  I have not tried it yet but supposedly several people were able to resolve their problem this way.  If you do try it, let me know.  I don't have the cable at this time.

    It would be helpful to know what version of Acrobat, WORD, and operating system.
    Without that info, I would suggest at this point to open your WORD file and then go to the print menu and print to file using the Adobe PDF printer. Open the created file in Distiller and see if you get a PDF. If so, check to see if AcroTray is running in the background.
    You say you tried many ways. It would help to know what you tried and what worked or did not work, and at what point the failure occurs.
