Z10 Automatic Contact Linking

Hi,
I have a Z10 that is setup with my Work's BES server for Email/Contacts as well as having my yahoo contacts.
It seems that once both contacts lists are populated they are automatically linked based on similarities that don’t make sense. Ei) All my family members with same last name get linked under one contact, so in effect only one name pop’s up as being a contact in my phone. Where as some contacts are linked that are completely difference names.
I have tried wiping the phone and re-adding my contacts lists but it continues to link contacts together based on random criteria.
My questions are:
Is there a way to disable automatic linking of contacts?
What criteria cause contacts to link?
Is this an indication of a faulty device?

This might help: Plug the charger in the phone and outlet, leave for 10 minutes. With charger still connected to phone and outlet remove the battery for a few minutes then reinstall the battery

I am having troubles with Z10 to BB Link connection. The problem lies in Windows Firewall. Because we are using our devices in enterprise environment the firewall cannot be disabled. Can anyone tell me how to configure Windows Firewall? What IPs/ports need to be open?

From all I know, it is not possible to extract specific files from Link to your PC.

Trying to Sync Z10 via Companion Link with ACT 2013

Hi All,
Looking for some help with the following issue: When I try and sync my Z10 via Companion Link with Act 2013 I get an error message in blackberry link then the sync fails:
C Preferences Manager: Configuration Value for / Preferences / Account_1_65537/ DevicePin not set in Transconfig.xml for translater RimBB
used to work sometimes until i updated the software. would be gratefull for any ideas

I have no experience with the third-party application you are referring to but I have the feeling that it is designed to sync with devices using Legacy Conduits.
Legacy Conduits used on OS4 and before (and a very few of the early OS5 devices): Date Book, Address Book, To Do List, Memo Pad.
Extended Conduits used on modern devices: Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Memos.

Windows 8.1 not automatic contact with WSUS

Hi,
I have an issue with WSUS 3.2 , the problem is all windows 8.1 based computer are not automatically contact with wsus as daily basis.
we need to run manually command on windows 8.1 pcs, then they could contact.

If you using a Windows Server 2008 R2 make sure that
WSUS-KB2734608-x64 is installed!

Automatically updating links in Flash AS2.0

Hi all,
I made a website for a client a while ago, and he came back
now wanting the ability to update his Monthly Newsletters.
This is out of my ability to do. I need some help with
creating a function which (hopefully) will read all files in a
specified folder, and automatically create links in the flash movie
it's self, to open each file inside the specified folder.
Is this even possible?
If not... can anyone suggest other ideas on achieving this?

All files are in the same directory (relative path) including
the folder (newsletters) which the PHP reads and sends to Flash.
I dont think this is where the problem is.
The permissions...i dont know for sure. Im using Filezilla to
FTP files to the server, which gives me details of permissions on
each files. I dont know how accurate these are tho.
The permissions are the same for all files, ( -rw-rw-rw- )
which im thinking means read and write permissions to the
directory.
But i dont know much about server side tech, and servers in
general. Are there some other permissions that are worth looking
into?
The SWF file where the code is going into, is set up abit
differently to the test file i was using. I originally thought this
might cause the problem.
But i made copies of the files needed (from the site) to the
temp directory i was using to test the PHP reading script. and it
works perfectly. So the problem cant be there either.
I dont know what else to try.

File Automate Contact sheet option

Where can I find FILE > Automate > Contact Sheet, in Photoshop Cs5 this option is available in earlier version, but I cant find in CS5

It is no longer there by default, but feel free to use Bridge or install suitable scripts, including the old ones that still linger somewhere on the PS install DVD...

Automatic add links to images

Hello,
Another question:
Is it possible to set up Dreamweaver CS3 so that **on specific pages** an image link will be automatically added once an image is posted on that page?
Currently, I either need to copy/paste the url address (which is the same as the src url) or "point to file" using that little Dreamweaver line. Considering the number of images I post on my blog -- some that are very large and therefore need the link url so they can be opened on another screen -- it'd be incredibly helpful if I could have the option of automatically adding image links once I place an image on **specific pages**.
I'm emphasizing "specific pages" because I only need that option sometimes. At other times, I'd prefer to have the image link option blank. (I hope this isn't too confusing...)
While I'm at it ...
In a previous version of Dreamweaver, I was able to double click on a window and thus copy the url address of any page/image. Now, I have to manually move the cursor to highlight the url in order to copy the whole thing. If there are dashes in the url, double-clicking doesn't work in Dreamweaver CS3.
Is there are a way to solve that glitch?
Anyhow, any assistance would be much appreciated.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by automatically adding links to images. But if you want thumbnail images to open up to full size images on pages, have a look at this litebox extension from FourLevel.

BB Z10 - Syncing contacts and calendar appointments manually with the BB Link

When I sync the contacts & calendars, both with 2 way sync, on the contacts it performs perfectly but on the calendar all entries that I make on the Z10 do not get sync with the PC.

Try unchecking all the calendars except the one you want to sync.
Tap Calendar, swipe down from the top and tap Manage.

BB Link and BB Z10 Terminal, Contacts Sync

I posed a question on Sunday or Monday concerning the BB Link version I downloaded (V 1.1.1.32) and my terminal with V 10.1.0.2312. My question was unanswered, and has disappeared from the List. Can someone please tell me what happened?

Z10 - new contacts saved on smartphone, but not shown in contact list

Hello everybody,
I have a problem with my Z10. It does not show me any new contacts in the contact app on the phone. After entering a new contact through the app (from HUB and directly) it won't be shown in my contact list. Not even the phone no in the HUB has been replaced by the name. Sending a new contact from BB9810 by Bluetooth does not even get the contact into the new contact list (even though it's been saved).
Anyway, the contacts have been saved somewhere in the phone, since I can sync them with the BB link on my laptop. Also entering a contact in my windows contacts and syncing the other way around (from laptop to BB) does not get me the contacts into my BB contact list.
Has anybody experienced the same issue, or can advise me where to change settings or do something that may get everything back to normal?

Do this for me.
Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: Reboot: On the side edge volume keys, press and hold down both of the Up and Down volume keys for about 20 seconds, ignoring the initial screenshot message... the screen will go black and reboot.
Now, after the reboot is complete, give it a couple minutes and check your Contacts app again for those missing contacts.

Z10 can't link to Desktop

Phone: Z10
Current OS: 10.1.0.273
With the usb cable provided, I can previously link the Z10 to my desktop on the previous OS.
I did an software upgrade about 2-3 weeks back & haven't link the phone until today.
The desktop cannot detect the phone.
The usb cable is plug in, the phone shows that it's charging.
Blackberry Link can't detect the phone.
Please advise.

Try these methods:
1.Go to settings on Z10->Storage and Access->under access to storage,select the connect to windows,if u r using a PC or connect to Mac,if u r using Mac-->start Link and after it's loaded up connect the device.
2.Connect Z10 to pc with Link loaded up-Restart the device
3.Check for updates to Link
4.Reinstall with the Latest version of Link

Z10 Email Generated Link Dials 911

I've received two emails recently with DHL package tracking information with dangerous links. DHL tracking numbers are 10 digits, just like a phone number. The Z10 email application automatically assumes that the 10-digit number is a phone number and converts that text to a phone link.
I assume the link is a hyperlink to the tracking website to see the package location, so I click it.
Tracking number example: 9112345040
Click the Z10 generated link, dials (911) 234-5040
There are no area codes with 911 - that should never become an automatic hyperlink.

Oh, I can add a few lost features from the Bold:
No UMA internet calling
No list of forthcoming diary entries in the calendar agenda view
Enter key sends a text or bbm, instead of generating a new line of text (how daft is that?)
and of course the select text, cut and paste is horrible.

I synced my gmail contacts with my Z10 address book. How to copy them to my "Local Contacts"?

Thanks for the question.
Go inside each contact and open up the details and click on Links and remove the link from Gmail and only keep local.

Contacts link and unlink

Hi, I know it is a well known bug, but I am losing any ability to use my BlackBerry z10 soon. All my contacts are linked randomly but more severely I unable to unlink contacts. After save it reverts back to what it was. Some contacts has 30 unrelated links. Hence, more and more contacts are not findable and thus the very basic function of dialing to contacts are....
Is anybody knows how to disable link feature at all?
Is anybody knows when this amazing shocking bug is due to be resolved?
Any other work around will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the Outlook plugin isn't working properly. You could try a couple of things:
Go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs, uninstall iCloud, the download and install the iCloud contol panel for Windows again from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1455. Then sign back into your iCloud account and check your syncing settings again.
Uninstall iTunes and all of its components as by following this guide exactly: Windows XP or Windows Vista/7, then reinstall iTunes. You must follow this guide exactly or it will not be successful. (Uninstalling iTunes will only remove the application; it will not touch your iTunes library or data.) This will replace the Outlook plugin.
Then try your calendar again and see if it will sync properly now.
