Z10 Bricked - LED Blink sequence 1-3-2

I have a STL100-2 BB Z10 (Qualcomm)
It's OS froze and I decided to reload the OS onto the device. But it's not working. I have tried the BlackBerry Website method and the BlackBerry Link method.
In both instances I am getting the same problem and failure point.
1) Device is detected successfully and connects up
2) OS starts loading, device shows the solid GREEN light
3) Then after a few seconds the LED starts blinking RED in a 1-3-2 sequence
4) After a minute or so I get an Error dialog box reading:
The Application Loader could not connect to your BlackBerry device. Try to following actions:
And it gives me instructions to change the Power Management settings for the USB ports.
I have done that and still has not worked...I'm stumped now and don't know what to do next. I have searched all forums etc and have not been able to find a satisfactory solution.
I have also tried:    KB35635 & KB34045 and it hasn't worked..

  • BlackBerry Z10 won't turn on and red led blinks 4 times

    Hi all,
Yesterday my BlackBerry Z10 suddently turned off, I turned it on again and it worked fine for a few minutes (battery was around 90% full), then it turned off again and I couldn't turn it on anymore! The red led is blinking 4 times with a 3 seconds interval between each 4 blinks sequence. I tried to charge the battery, connect it to the computer, turn it on without the battery (with charger on), with no success. Sometimes, it shows the BlackBerry logo, or even the logo with the % loading, but then it turns off in the middle of the process, on random percentages.
Does anyone know what happened to the phone and how to solve this issue?
    Thanks!
    V

Mine keeps turning off... I called them and they told me to send the phone to Blackberry by mail to check what's wrong and that when the phone gets there, they do a complete evaluation and in 30 days they send the phone back... In other words, I have to buy another phone! Blackberry assistance is useless...

  • Bricked my touchsmart -tx2 1025dx. Cap/Num lock LEDs blinking once.

Bricked my touchsmart-tx2 1025dx.  Cap/Num Lock LEDs blinking once, so I replaced the processor but the LEDs are still giving me a single blink (processor issue).  Any advice?

    Hey NikosK,
The one-blink code is indicating an issue related to CPU and/or system board (bent pins, etc.). It's possible that the system board needs to be replaced.
Here's a table of all of the LED codes:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01443366&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en
Do you know what caused this issue in the first place, before replacing the processor?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Before you proceed to try and reload your OS, I recommend something a bit less destructive...
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain directly connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB, not a cradle):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully please that "new" and "know good" are not necessarily the same things. While rare, a "new" battery certainly could be defective. Rather, the simplest (and least costly, btw) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.
Good luck and let us know!

  • LED blink, no boot

Computer is not booting. Sometimes I get a 2 blink sequence from Caps Lock and Num Lock LED's. Most of the time however, all I get is a continuously blinking Caps Lock LED, then the keyboard dims (flashing LED continues) then about 15-20 secs from start the fan starts. No boot, no display on screen.
Holding down power button doesn't stop it, the only way is to remove battery and disconnect power.
    I have tried:
    Hard reset.
    Clean the fan, and vents.
    Remove, clean and reseat memory.
Booting with memory in second slot.
    Remove and reinstall hard drive!
    Connecting outside monitor.
    Nothing has helped.
Any other suggestions/ ideas about possible cause? What does the 2-blink sequence mean on this laptop?
    TIA

Hi rafael, and a Warm Welcome to the Power Mac G5 Forum!
Whilst not wishing to give you false hope, a similar 'one flash' problem was fixed by experimenting with the RAM here
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=3338765#3338765
So, you could try taking out any added RAM and see if it will boot with just the original "Apple" RAM. If it does, you could try replacing the added RAM, in pairs, and try it.
If it won't boot with just the original RAM, you could try removing and then replacing it - sometimes it's just a bad contact in the slot. This might be the problem with the added RAM too, rather than the RAM being faulty. The RAM DIY instructions are here
    http://www.info.apple.com/usen/cip/pdf/g5/memory_c.pdf
    Note especially the static precautions.
Once you get it to boot ok, you could run the Apple Hardware Test
    http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/aht.html
esp. noting the links to Memtest/Rember further down the page.
As it had a forced shutdown, you could run Disk Utility (the one on the 10.4.8 drive) and Repair Permissions and Verify Disk.
    Good Luck.

  • FP-1600 Status LED blinks 17 times.

My FieldPoint bank has 9 modules. I previously had a problem with the FP-TB-10 power and ready lights blinking, but that was because one of my dual-channel modules was not seated correctly. Now the status LED is blinking 17 times. The manual says to contact NI about this. The FieldPoint Explorer seems to find all of the modules correctly, though. Anyone know what's up?

    Aaron,
I checked the firmware and the FieldPoint Explorer version, and I'm using 3.20 and 3.0, respectively. When I power cycle the FP-1600, the 17 blinks of the status LED go away. Communication works, and all of the devices are found. However, communication does drop out from time to time, and eventually the status LED begins blinking 17 times again.
A possibly related issue is that the FP-AI-V10 dual-channel module that I have plugged into slot 2 of the FP-TB-10 base causes the FP-TB-10 to flash its power and ready LEDs. Re-seating the FP-AI-V10 seems to fix this, although the module is definitely already clicked into place when I see this problem. Upon reseating (or just pressing on it without removing the module), the FieldPoint Explo
    rer program finds this module.
I'm tempted to think that this issue with the FP-TB-10 and FP-AI-V10 are unrelated to the FP-1600's status LED blinking 17 times because even with the FP-TB-10 removed from the bank, I still get the flashing LED.
Any ideas? Also, what is a GPF type error?
    Thanks,
    Jake

  • BlackBerry 8110 does not initialize only LED blinks for 5 secs

    Hi all,
I bought a used BlackBerry 8110. It worked fine in the beginning - then during some audio recording I suddenly got an hourglass cursor and the handy was frozen.
Removing the battery - even for 24h - did not help. The moment I put in the battery the LED starts shining for approx. 5-6 secs, then it extinguishs for 2-3 sec, and so on. Thats all what happens. The display remains black.
I also tried to re-install the complete device operating system but without any success. But when installing the OS the  ApploaderWebSL-Upgrade.msi was able to communicate with the handy and determines the installed software components and versions. Also the LED blinking stopped (LED was off) and the Apploader was able to delete all software installed on the device and write the new software. When that finishs and the Apploader tries to initialize (reboot) the handy the blinking described above starts again but the handy (and display) remains off.
Does anyone have an idea what to do ???
    Any help is appreciated !!!
    Thanks a lot,
    Katja

  • Probook 4540s charging led blinking

My charging led blinks and the laptop won't power on
This happens if i connect the charging jacks(without the battery) in the following order: 1st insert in the laptop 2nd in the outlet, If i do it backwards, first in the outlet then i connect the charging jack to the laptop it works fine, It bothers me that every time i have to dissconect the charging jack from the laptop and plug it in after i ve plugged the plug in the outlet. I have 2 friends with same laptop and they don t have this problem.

  • CAn I make a push button LED blink

    Take the"modern" pushbutton control.
The LED on the control is on when the control is pressed (true) and off then false.
Can I make the LED blink when false and be on solid like normal when true?
I tried the property node "blink" but that kakes the whole control blink (and looks stupid)

    Hi RTSLVU,
Here is another example of how you can cheat to get it done. It combines a custom Boolean LED and a regular Boolean Push Button. If you don't want to mess with custom controls, you can overlay a regular Round LED Boolean (stretching it out a bit makes it fit better) over the existing LED on the Push Button, it'll just look a little different.
Thank you for choosing National Instruments.

  • As described in the header, my Apple TV (120GB) has its LED blinking amber non-stop, no video, no audio. It is about 2 months old and I have never had issue with it before.

As described in the header, my Apple TV (40GB) has its LED blinking amber non-stop, no video, no audio. It is about 2 months old and I have never had issue with it before.

They stopped making that model four years ago.  There is no way it is two months old.  Trying connecting it to a computer with iTuens via a USB cable to see if you can re-install the firmware.

    Hi,
I don't know people call this but we normally call it as an "handsake", all smart batteries should do this way.

  • PPC MacMini shuts down immediately after boot, LED blinks

A client gave me his PowerPC MacMini which boots up but then shuts down after a few seconds. Unfortunately, there's not enough time to open the system preferences between booting and automatic shutdown.
I've tried to boot the computer from a system DVD and with "T" pressed for target mode, but it always boots up completely from the internal drive. Booting with "Shift" pressed boots in safe mode, but the machine still shuts down after a few seconds.
Interestingly, the power LED blinks about once per second. I wasn't able to find anything about this on the Net.

    AndyO wrote:
If, on the other hand, the mini is starting up, and then failing, and the light isn't so much blinking as pulsing, then the system may be suffering protective shutdown as a result of overheating. That can be tested by seeing whether it runs longer after being left unplugged for several hours, thus being cold, than it does if it's been running (or attempted to be run) for some time, and is thus already warmed. In that event, the mini will need to be disassembled to some extent to try and identify whether the fan is running, the CPU heat-sink is firmly attached and the thermal pad which is squeezed between the underside of the logic board and the base of the system is replaced.
I have a Mac Mini Intel Core 2 Duo that is suffering almost the same symptoms (shut-down almost immediately after startup); however, it DOES appear to be for a variable length of time based upon how much time I let it sit and 'cool' down; therefore, I believe I'm experiencing an over-heating issue.
I've installed a matching 1GB pair of RAM about 1.5 months ago and all has been fine until now. The unexpected (which is now expected) shutdown after startup is occurring on both Mac OS X 10.5.2 and Windows Vista (on Boot Camp partition) ... of particular note ... the Windows side shuts down more quickly (likely due to it not having the same system monitoring/energy handling tools that would be available to the Mac OS X side ... so I would suspect it to over-heat sooner on the Windows side).
Successfully completed Hardware tests (simple & extended) reported memory and other system hardware was fine. 'Check/Verify Disk' on Mac/Windows side reported no issues with either partitions.
Attempts to reset the PRAM and SMC have not solved the problem.
There was one instance, after startup, that the fan ran at full speed continuously and noticed that the power light was not on at all ... at the time, I was on the Mac startup disk and it stayed up and running for about 20 minutes or more until I decided to shutdown and test the Windows side. Upon restart, the fan did not run continuously, and the Windows side shut-down shortly after start up.
Overall, I'm fairly convinced it is an over-heating problem. If anyone has any ideas or reference material to confirm or how-to-do "the CPU heat-sink is firmly attached and the thermal pad which is squeezed between the underside of the logic board and the base of the system is replaced" that would be greatly appreciated.
I am not ruling out sending the machine into the retailer for servicing/diagnostics; however, if there's a relative quick fix so that I don't have to identify and remove confidential/sensitive info first, that would be preferred.
    Thanks.

  • Mac Mini LED blinks and shuts down at startup, takes 2-3 tries to boot...

I have a Mac Mini PPC 1.42GHz. When i boot it up after non-use (cold), the LED blinks once per second and it boots all the way into MacOS and shuts down several seconds later. It will usually do the same thing the second time around. On third boot its usually fine. Not thinking its related, I have reinstalled MacOS anyways. No good...
    Thanks,
    Rich

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
The flashing LED is usually indicative of a power-on self test failure, normally leading to the system failing to boot at all. Once per second would indicate the system fails to recognize available RAM.
The fact this happens when the system is cold (with an implication that it doesn't happen when the system is warm) might indicate the RAM module is no longer firmly inserted, or that the contact face on the pins has oxidized slightly. In this situation, I'd begin by opening the system and removing and then reseating the RAM - in the G4 minis this is relatively easy since there is only one RAM slot, and it is exposed with just the top of the casing removed.
