Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I cannot tell, from your post, if you have exactly followed this. Therefore, please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain directly connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB, not a cradle):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
Remove the battery
Wait 15 minutes
Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully please that "new" and "know good" are not necessarily the same things. While rare, a "new" battery certainly could be defective. Rather, the simplest (and least costly, btw) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.
Good luck and let us know!

did you tried charging it with the wall charger for at least 15 minutes ?

  • BB Z10 dead will not start

We have 6 of Z10 and playbooks in the family for 18 months, we BBM each other, everything is great.
Then my son says his does not work. Power button no response, sometimes no microwave connection, but Wifi and bluetooth still working. Tried different battery, The battery charge, remove battery for 15 minutes and replace battery, connect to computer battery out reloading the OS, Read all these news groups, got some sense out of it but the phone not reliable, time for a new one.
I brought a new Z10, with in a week, it did not start one day after charging. Tryied all the tricks like above.
Shop took it back, they had a look at it, but had no replacement, got refunded.
Brought from another shop, after a week it stopped, would not do a thing, no red light. Tryed everything like above, computer does not acknowledge it is connected, can not get a green light.
The only sign of life is the red led after holding power button down for 10sec, led for 10 seconds, that is it
My poor son has been with out a phone more than with one the last 2 months.
When we first got our 6 Z10s some 18 months ago, the password to unlock the device was only numbers.
After an OS upgrade the alpha characters become available. These new ones arrive with only numbers available. After we do the OS upgrades all in one go we still only have numbers available. I can not help but think we are missing some modules from the OS.
Finally my question (thanks for reading this far anyone who made it),
Anything I did not try to get the phone going again ?
Is there anything we are doing to cause this ? has the quality dropped off new phones ?
As we return post this phone I am sure Blackberry warranty will not be impressed with us.
    Thanks for replying      (in advance)

Loving BB Z10 Keeping me moving

after getting my device to boot up using an older OS via
    BlackBerry 10.2.1 STL100-3 Autoloader
    10.2.1.1927
I updated to my carrier's - T-Mobile - official release which was the current version ( 10.2.1.2156) on the device before it "crashed" - the device failed to boot up so I had to reload via "autoloader," skip the update and use the 10.2.1927.
Does anyone know what the problem might be? Thank you in advance. I'm so sorry I gave up my Bold 9900. "If it 'ain't' broke, don't fix it!"

  • My MacBookPro completely dead, won't start, nothing.

Hi, Just had Yosemite uploaded in Western Computers, it was working in the shop, walked home and now nothing, completely dead. Took it back, they said there is a fault with mid range Mac Book Pros. I bought this in May 2012. Western Computers say it will take 7-10 days before it can be seen. I can't wait that long. Any ideas very gratefully received! Thanks

  • Tomcat6 dead/won't start after online update

Running OES11 fully patched. After a recent online update, tomcat6 will not start. I've attached a catalina log file for review but I'm not a tomcat6 expert by any means. Just hoping someone out there can look at the attached and let me know how to fix it! I've looked at all the server.xml files I can find (three total in different locations: /etc/tomcat6, /usr/share/novell-tomcat6/conf and /var/opt/novell/tomcat6/conf) and don't see anything "off" on line 90 col 9. It sounds like a ! is missing in one of the comment lines..?
Besides OES services, are there any other applications/services installed that might cause a configuration conflict?

  • BB z10 won't start up after updating to bb link

I accidentally dropped my phone on the floor, and it won't start up.
here are the following steps that i already did:
    1. I already tried to update it on the bb link, after successfully updating i remove the usb cable, however  it didn't start up. everytime i try  to do a hard reset it automatically turns off, even when im seeing the blackberry logo on the screen. it goes off again.
    2. i tried also to charge it first and then the blackberry name appears on the screen  it will also automatically turns off and after that it will charge only and then again the blackberry name appears on the screen same thing happen again.
    3. I tried to uninstall the bb link to my computer and install again the bb link then update it again, after the successful update. still no changes happen
    4. I also tried to update the bb z10 os, in a hard way through internet explorer, nothing change still won't start up.
There's one thing that i've noticed everytime I plug the usb cable on my phone, through the computer and access the bb link, it will connect and then it will disconnect it goes on and on, as i seen on the screen. I updated the usb cable plugging in,thinking that can fix the problem but still nothing change.
I know that my bb z10 works fine up to now, because there is an instant that the bb logo appears on the screen completed loading and i can navigate it for a while like changing the language and connecting to a wifi, and the logo of my sim card appears on the screen, however it will take few seconds only, and then it will turn again to the same situation that occurs on my phone.
Please help me find a good solution regarding on my phone problem.

Since this occurred right after dropping your device it's probably damaged internally. Not much we can do here for that.

  • G5 dead and won't start up at all

G5 10.5.8 1.6 I usually leave it on 24/7 Shut it down the other night and now it won't start up.
Pressed the cuda, checked voltage in battery (3.597v). It has had problems in the past of colored lines on the bottom of the monitor when I put it to sleep, but when it was awake after about 15-20 minutes the lines would go away.
I did check the power outlet where it's plugged in for power and it is good.
Now I have no light on the power button and when I had the case opened there were no diode lights on inside either. Any suggestions?

    DaddyPaycheck wrote:
If it is the original battery it couldn't hurt to replace it. To get an accurate reading you have to measure the voltage under load.
A good way to do that is, with AC disconnected, measure the +voltage in the actual battery holder+. Or place a 150 ohm resistance across the battery when reading the voltage.
That being said, this sounds a little more fundamental. When connecting AC to the machine, do you hear a click from the power supply? If not, then you may have a keeled-over power supply. Even with a dead logic board, you should at least get an attempt to power things up, resulting in a fan rush and/or a single relay click from the power supply when you push the button. If you are not getting that, then either the power supply or the front panel board is the culprit. (As an aside, I would guess power supply is more likely, but not impossible that the front panel board has caused the problem.)
Another thing is how clean is the interior? If the dust hasn't been blown out in a long time, or ever, that might be a good thing to look into as well.

  • EMac won't start; 'bong,' pause, 'click,' and dead

My eMac (Tiger installed) won't start up.  It makes the intial 'bong' sound and after a few seconds, there is a click and nothing else happens.  The screen remains black, no question mark, nothing.  It acted up previously in that, when the space bar was pressed to wake from sleep, it would shut down.  It always started up after that, though, until the final time it shut down and we went on vacation for a couple of weeks.  When we returned, it would no longer start.
One of my biggest objectives is retrieving certain files on the eMac.  I have an old blueberry iMac and an external hard drive, the original eMac disks, the Tiger disks and Tech Tool Deluxe.  Any suggestions?

USB 2.0 eMacs had a known hardware fault that is, today, essential fatal due to the expiration of an Apple program to fix it at no cost. The cost of repair without the program is equal to the value of a half-dozen used eMacs assuming a tech can find the parts. So we should decide up front if your eMac is among the affected models.
First use this article to locate your serial number and model variant:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2395
then use the serial number to find your eMac variant in the chart in that article. The hardware fault ONLY affects those with the variant name "eMac (USB 2.0)"
If yours is a "USB 2.0" please see if the serial number falls in these ranges:
    G8412xxxxxx- G8520xxxxxx
    YM412xxxxxx - YM520xxxxxx
    VM440xxxxxx - VM516xxxxxx
If it does, consider Roam's advice to pull the HD and not worry about breaking something. The rest of the computer may have some resellable parts but the logic board cannot be economically repaired today.

  • MacBook won't start at all - dead

My MacBook won't start AT ALL - nothing, nada, zip.
I press the power button and nothing happens at all - no sound, no lights, no movement.
I have tried taking out battery and unplugging it, then pressing power button for 5 seconds, then inserting battery and plugging back in (as per Apple's kb note). This doesn't help.
[OK I was trying to upgrade the hard drive - original hard drive is now back in the MacBook]
    Any ideas?

OK I took my MacBook to the guys at Streetwise in Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn (we are talking Melbourne Australia here).
Incredibly helpful - the genius there diagnosed a dislodged cable between the top board (keyboard and housing) and the main body. He thought I had dislodged it trying to change over the hard drive.
In any case, he straightened things out, reseated the cable and voila, its all working.
Hard drive upgraded too using Carbon Copy Cloner.

  • PB won't start, has no power, won't charge BUT I NEED THE INFO desperately

Hello!  As the subject states, it won't start, has NoOoOoOo power, cannot get it to charge (and it's been plugged in now for 2.5 days).  While RIM CS said they might fix it, I need to get the information off the tab first as it's REALLY really REALLY important.
I did post in another thread, but it seems my issue is just a little more challenging that most, as I've tried ALL the "ideas" that I have come across - here and in other site forums.  If only it were as easy as the pins being bent or getting another charger.....
So not only will mine NOT start up, and is COMPLETELY dead, but (and here's the fun part) the USB port has been busted since purchase.  (Thought we'd manage without, but hah....)
    - the battery was NOT fully depleted when it crashed as it does every second day (this was Friday)
    - have a Rapid Charger, and have been using it all along
    - it has been plugged in for DAYS and nothing IS happening; no lights whatsoever
NO light red, yellow, green, or otherwise that comes on when plugged in (or otherwise)
    - Looks like this "stacking" that keeps coming up refers only to when plugged into computers, which I cannot do,
though I did try the 2 min interval anyhow for awhile
    - I DID hold down the power button for 10, 20, 30 seconds per notes on these boards
    - I DID hold down the power button for 2 whole minutes even per some suggestion
    - I DID try the power button with Volume + then with both volumes and power all at once
    - In fact, if anyone anywhere wrote to jump up on one foot, I tried that too!
AND the reason it matters . . . there are photos or someone who has passed away on there that I need to get off before sending for repair (or better yet replacement if there are any left anywhere) and really need to get this thing started again.  Been a long time that I've been trying to get these images off, though I think that's another discussion for when it gets started hm...)
Anything, oh wise BB PB peeps??
    Thanks in advance!!

    chaosdivine thanks for the idea!
Had to laugh at the comment that the USB would be wobbly after some time had gone by.  Mine was broken after first attempt to even use it!
Anyhow, good post, but did all that already.  Plugged in and sit, plug and unplug, plug and try to turn it on, leave it off, etc. and then some etc.

  • Ipod touch won't start after restore

Ipod touch 3rd Generation-  battery was completely dead after sitting for a week or so. I charged it but couldn't get it to turn on.  Went into recovery mode, connected it to the computer and re-loaded everything, but when restore is done, the IPOD still won't start or display in itunes.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Powerbook G4 won't start up

OK, I know others have had a similar issue but I haven't been able to find a solution to this and desperately need some help. My Powerbook G4 with Leopard seems to be dead and I haven't backed it up recently (yes. I know). Yesterday I installed the latest security update, this seemed to go fine other than causing an apparent problem with spell checker. Then I tried to shut it down in the usual way and it didn't work, just stuck on the desktop screen with the whirly grey wheel. After an hour I gave up and held down the power button. Now of course it won't start up, just gives me a grey screen and the grey wheel again. I have inserted the Leopard install disk and used disk utility to repair the hard drive. It said it "appears to be OK". It still won't start though. And I can't even eject the install disk now. Can anyone help??????

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
First off, this is how to eject:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2179
If this doesn't work, your machine may need a new clock battery from an authorized service center.
Furthermore, you will need to recover your data once you are able to boot off the optical drive, either using Target Disk Mode:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1661
    Or Startup Manager:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1310
with a data recovery program such as Prosoft Data Rescue II, Subrosasoft Filesalvage, or Boomerang, Boomerang. These must be purchased from an Apple software reseller.
Once your data is recovered, we can try to repair the hard drive with Alsoft Disk Warrior.
If that doesn't work, you may need to replace your hard drive.
In the future never install new software without backing your data*:

  • Compiz Standalone won't start

Hi, I'd like to run Compiz as a standalone desktop manager. The Arch wiki has a very short section on this, https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … ow_Manager, which suggests all that's needed is to edit ~/.xinitrc to start compiz.
This doesn't work for me, and I simply end up at the CLI prompt with no on-screen error message or anything to indicate why compiz won't start. I'm not even 100% sure it is trying to start!?
If I try to start compiz from the CLI prompt, I get the following error:
compiz (core) - Fatal: Cannot open display
If I start with startx, X will start, but compiz will not.

By display manager, do you mean something like KDE, XFCE etc?
If so, then I would really like to just run compiz without any of these. I have got Compiz running OK under KDE, but it takes forever to boot up (ok 1 minute) and I just find KDE to be somewhat .. Kludgy (it has a dated feel IMO). Also there are some weird behaviours in Compiz under KDE. I'm currently using XFCE which is altogether nicer than KDE, but I can't get compiz to work with it at all.
