Z10 died after installing 10.2.1.537

I downloaded and installed 10.2.1.537 using BB Link and 1st I had battery life issues which got solved after 1 day, but the 3rd day after installing the new update my phone died, and now it just doesn't turn on. If I connect it to the wall charger or PC, the Blackberry Logo comes on and then it turns off again (red led on), then it goes "on" again showing the BlackBerry logo and it does that in an infinite loop. If I try to turn it on unplugged, it just doesn't respond.
I didn't download any beta software, nor the incorrect version since BB Link told me there was an update.
My phone operator is Entel and I'm currently in Chile, the phone I'm using is a Z10 STL-1.
Please help me, I've been checking other forums and even though the situation does not seem to be widespread, there are several other users who have the same problem with no apparent solution.

Z10 died after restoring thru BlackBerryLink on desktop How do I bring back life to my z10 which died totally when I've reset successfully using BlackBerry-Link; which completely died after reset (just mentioning it as successful operation because I do remember the bblink saying my z10 was completed restoring) ... My iphone died after installing iOS 5.

I was going to update my iphone 4 to iOS 5 at the first day it came out. But something went wrong and my iphone died and now it keeps restarting when i try to turn it on. If someone know what to do i be very gladly

Not sure if you had any luck with this 'princessksee' but I had literally the very same issue, very frustrating to say the least.
Sometimes it is the simple fix that works and in this case, ChrisJ4203 provided the right handshake required to get me back up and running by doing the reset as he describes above.
The key is ensuring that you hold down the sleep/wake and home buttons at the same time and wait much longer than you think you need to.
Hope you had similiar success and assume that there will be others who will access this resource for this very same problem.
Wanted to see that you had been sorted and also to let others know that this is a good place to start.
Overall very happy with the new features included in this update despite this small issue.

Has anyone had their MBP die after installing a new hard drive?

the reason why I ask is because:
a while ago I had a lovely PB12" which was my favourite little laptop.. the only thing it was missing was hard drive space, so I had a certified apple centre install a 250GB drive in it to make it a much more usable personal machine. a few days later the motherboard fried itself, and because the machine was long out of warranty, there was pretty much nothing to be done about it. I'm pretty sure it was a dodgy job on replacing the drive that killed my machine but I obviously can't prove it.
anyway that was then, this is now.. I'm thinking about replacing the 100GB 7200rpm drive that came with my MBP core2duo 2.33 17" machine, seeing as there are now 7200rpm drives as big as 320GB. but I really rely on this machine for a lot of work, and I'm not exactly ready to have it mysteriously die just like my old powerbook. I know the 12" powerbook was apparently notoriously difficult to open up and replace components so I get the feeling that the technicians must have bashed something up when they were trying to do the swap out. so my question is, has anyone at all with any recent MBP had the machine go seriously wrong after changing the drive? looking around on the internet it seems that changing the drive in my current machine is something easy enough that I could do it myself, which I'd probably do if I don't hear too many horror stories about it. my MBP is out of warranty and I don't have apple care, but is it correct that even if it still was under warranty, that would have been voided by my changing the hard drive?
anyway, any experiences and opinions on this most appreciated, especially from anyone who has had major problems..

as I mentioned in my original post, I think I'm probably overly paranoid because of the fact that an authorised repair centre managed to kill my PB just doing a simple drive switchover. but from everything I've heard, the powerbook 12" was already in a category of its own in terms of how difficult it was to access parts inside, with a high risk of breaking something in the process. so I'll probably end up swapping out the drive on the MBP myself, perhaps with the help of someone more technically nerdy than me (and who has the right tools).
I originally got a 7200rpm drive, and will most probably go for the latest 320GB 7200s that are out there because I need the best performance running logic. but I'm also slightly tempted to go for a 500GB 5400 because I've heard there's not much in it performance-wise nowadays given that the 5400s use perpendicular technology rather than longitudinal. do any of you know if the current 320GB 7200s also use perpendicular recording?

IPhone 5 died after installing iOS 8. Is Apple store responsible?

We installed iOS 8.0 on iPhone 5, 16 gig. The second time we tried to charge it, the phone started flashing between the low battery screen and the Apple screen. Never got it going, tried the reset and all.
Brought it to the Apple store and they told us the hardware was done. The phone died. Of course, 1 year and 3 months after buying so not on warranty.
The technician said that I was missing the 2 screws at the bottom and that inside a screw was loose. I was not even aware. I told them I had the screen replaced by them the previous year which they saw in my file. They started questioning me about bringing the phone elsewhere which I didn't. They then told me, that they were sorry that couldn't do nothing for me, except selling me a new phone. Wow!!!!! So I am now paying a phone through my cell services that is not working!
My question to people out there, is it possible that the loose screw inside the phone caused damages to the hardware? Apple is not responding to me!

Could be. But if Apple has stated that unauthorized maintenance has been done to the device, then that's the final answer. Unless that store manager overturns that decision, you'll need to purchase another device.

MacBook Air 2010 died after installing Mavericks, happened to anyone else?

Having installed Mavericks onto my early edition MacBook Air it has totally died.
- It will no longer charge, in fact the light doesn't come on at all on the Magsafe (tried two different chargers both still charge my MacBook Pro)
This happened after I turned it off for the first time having installed the new OS.
Anyone else had their Air turned into a brick by Mavericks?
I've got a genius bar appointment on Saturday but thought it was worth seeing if anyone else had suffered the same issue. Keen to know if my battery had just reched the end of it's life (although it was still lasting a good number of hours under Moutain Lion) or if Mavericks has caused the issue.

The panic was caused by the Yamaha audio device or its software, maybe with help from one or more of the other third-party system modifications you've installed. I suggest you disconnect the device, back up all data, and then remove the software according to the developer's instructions. Reboot and see whether there's an improvement. If there isn't, post your results.

HT4972 myipod touch 4th gen just died after installing the newest itunes? My comp wont even pick it up, not to mention itunes, help

I was asked to install the newest itunes and my software on my ipod just died. its dead so it does a cycle now over and over. it starts with an apple on it, apple fades away and the whole screen proceeds to light up and stay that way untill it cycles and goes back to dieing and shows the battery charging in red till the apple comes on again. My computer wont even pick up that there is a drive plugged into it. Also when i was installing the newest itunes on my comp, there was a error msg saying" ipod service..." something.... thanks Connie

Ibook G3 just died after installing 10.4.1 update

I have been using my ibook g3 with 10.2 for a couple of months now. I suffered from the logic board/ graphics chip problem but managed to fix this myself.
Today i got 10.4 and it installed fine, I had a strange problem where my speedtouch modem wouldnt install but I managed to connect a network up to my pc.
I then tried software update but would not connect over the network so I had to download update 10.4.1 from the apple site.
It installed fine, but when it went to reboot itself it went straight to sleep instead of turning off. It did not respond then and It would not turn off or wake up, not even by holding the power button down.
After a while i took the battery out, left it a bit and then placed it back in. When I went to boot up nothing happend.
I have tried everything i can possibly think of like resetting the power, taking out the battery but it still wont work.
There is a strange thing where if the battery and adapter are pluuged in and you reset the power the adapter led cuts out. I have not noticed this before so am not sure wether this is normal or not.
appologies for the long rambling but if anyone has any ideas or thought's then please let me know.

Hmm, interesting problem. Now, when you say you reset the power did you do what's known as a PMU reset?

Reset the power manager by simultaneously pressing and then releasing Shift-Control-Option-Power on the keyboard. Do not press the fn (Function) key while using this combination of keystrokes.
Wait 5 seconds.
Press the Power button to restart the iBook computer.

Desktop & Screen Saver die after installed aperture

After I installed Aperture 2.0. I can't add new folder at Desktop & Screen Saver anymore. After I reinstall the leopard, It still happen after I installed Aperture. Is anyone have the same experience ?

yes ... it is a leo problem ... the fix has been to create a null (empty) iPhoto library ...

Died after installing iTunes 7

I purchased shuffle a year and a half ago, meaning my warranty expired about 6 months ago.
I had no problems with it until I installed the newest version of iTunes. The moment I plugged iPod, it died.
Since then, not a sound, or blink or anything (except both orange and green lights shining very weak).
Windows XP Pro

Same for me too.
I now have problems with both Album art not displaying on the iPod where it previously did, and I can also not play any iTunes Store purchased tracks on the iPod either - they will play in iTunes on the PC.
The option to "Transfer Purchases" when you right click on the iPod in the right hand navigation pane appears not to do anything.
Both these issues have appeared following the first sync\update of the iPod on the new 7.0.1.8 software.
My advice would be don't do it, the CD juke box effect of the revolving artwork does not seem worth the hassle so far.....

Mid 2008 15" MacBook Pro 2.5 dying after installing Lion

Has anyone else run into this? Have seen a number of results on Google. What is Apple doing about it? I was told to buy a new computer after it finally dies last weeked. The problem was an increasingly cumbersome wake-up process, where I had to move the mouse around the screen to build some squares so I could just see my sign in loge and where to type the password.
Have read that it is due to the failure of the nVidea video chip caused by Lion. Both my sons have the same computer since I had mine (9/08 or so) and theirs are working flawlessly on Snow Leopard. So it can't be the chip itsleff, but how Lion treated the whole video chip. The computer started running hotter than normal tc.
I have been using Macs since 6/87. Funny thing was, the guy at the Apple didn't try anything different from I had already done. Pull out battery and hold down power key for 10 seconds, reset parameter RAM, etc....... Then I find out via Google that there is an issue with Lion and some PBPs.
Is Apple giving some kind of cash back reward? They must have known about this problem for a while now and should have warned people that they may not want to upgrade to Lion.
Any feedback and ideas are welcome.

You can either make a bootable CD/USB or replace the missing /System/Library/CoreServices/.diagnostics folder on your startup drive.
This doesn't seem to work for everyone, but has for me & others with similar age & later MBPs.

9i report server die after installed database on same machine

Hi,
I had a oracle 9i developer suite installed first on my win2000 server, and it runs fine until I installed the oracle 9i database.
Now I can still run the "Start OC4J Instance.bat" and there is no error mesg shows up, but when I tried to access the report http://mypc:8888/reports/, it never able to go this site and no any error mesg.
Do these two products can coexists on same machine?
They are installed on separate directory of course.
Any idea and suggestion?

* When you give "Start oc4j" you should be able to see a dos window open and up and a message like "Oracle Containers for 9023 running" (if I remember correctly). I assume you are able to see that

* I am not sure about DB and Reports in same machine coexisting. But in general oracle products can coexist in same machine. Only problem is because of PATH conflicts.
If in SYSTEM path (in ctrl panel - system - environment)
if there are some path clashes, there may be problems.

My computer is at the edge of dying after installing Lion

I cannot believe that what I was using is the most intallegent computer in the world, especially when I chose to intall the brand new Lion. I cannot even open my mailbox within 2 minutes and the worst thing is that I cannot chat with my friends because I have to wait till I can see their messages showing on my screen. That's crazy! I don't know how to do.

Restore the bootable backup/clone or Time Machine backup of your previous Snow Leopard installation.

Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, followTroubleshooting security software issues.
Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to performunauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. Uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer.
Edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from your hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you do not uninstall the unauthorized modification software prior to editing the hosts file, that software may automatically modify the hosts file again on restart.

T42p died after BIOs install

I installed it directly from the Lenovo website, it went through the four stages, told me that it would shut down after installing. it shut dfown, but not it will not boot up. The power buttin works, the fan comes on, the CDrom initializes, and that's it. My MiniPE disk will not boot from the CDrom, the display is blank and dark, the USB ports are unpowered. Bad juju here. Can anyone help me?
