Z10 L2TP or PPTP, is it possible in anyway???

Hi,
I'm using Microsoft TMG as VPN Server using the Protocols (L2TP - PPTP) is there is anyway or any software to connect from my Blackberry Z10 ???
if no, i would have no solution but to sell it out and purchase Samsung Galaxy !!!!!!!

Hey icebird101,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Thanks for the question.
I know you can add an email account through Microsoft TMG on the BlackBerry Z10.  Do you get any specific errors when adding the ActiveSync account?  Also do you have a BlackBerry Enterprise Server at the company?
I look forward to your reply.
Cheers.

  • L2TP over PPTP

    Hi!
Is there any solution to use L2TP over PPTP?
I use connection to Internet via PPTP and want to use L2TP to connect to VPN server. How can I do this?

    Is anyone live here?

  • 10.6 VPN client - 10.5.8 VPN server - Cant ping past server on l2tp or pptp

Since installing 10.6 on my macbook and my mini, i can authenticate to MacPro 10.5.8 server over either l2tp or pptp. I cannot access any clients or ping any ip past the server on the local net.
I can connect and ping from win machine at work and ping and connect to all machines on local net.
Server vpn log shows authentification and connected with 10.6 machines. 10.5.8 machines work fine. Win machines work fine. Only 10.6 machines have issues.
    Any help would be appreciated

After a complete rebuild of the sever, I have determined that the problem is related to setting client information. I rebuilt the server, added the vpn, and it worked with L2TP from 10.6 machines. I went back and added the client information exactly the way it worked with 10.5 machines and the vpn would fail. I have removed the information from the client information screen on the server, and it is workin fine with both 10.5 and 10.6 machines.

  • DFU Mode. Is it possible in anyway to enter this mode without a computer?

    Hello.
Me and my friend have a big argument about DFU mode.
    * He calims that it is possible to enter DFU mode without a computer at all.
    * I claim that entering DFU mode without a computer or any other external hardware is impossible at all.
    * I also claim that it is possible with a software only, without phisicaly touching the iDevice using iTunes or any other software.
I also explained him that DFU is "Device Firmware Upgrade" and it must get connected with a PC or MAC to get into this mode.
Can someone professionaly explain us the correct answer so that we can finaly solve this issue?
    Thanks in advance,
    Asaf Moraz.

Exactly! while i connect it to the computer it just power on the device.
When i press the power again without forcing it through hard reset and without connecting it to the computer it just power up.
That's why i am allmost sure there is no way to enter this mode (DFU) without beeing connected to the computer and tha's what i tried to prove.
Thanks a lot for your time by the way...

  • Can a Cisco 2600 router do PPTP,L2TP, and IPSec?

    General question.

2600 supports L2TP and PPTP with MPPE with an IP PLUS version, and IPsec with a firewall version.

  • How can I configure Lion server to accept inbound VPN (L2TP) connections while connected as client to another vpn service?

    I have what I believe to be a unique need;
I have a MacPro (1,1) running Lion with Server app.
I require that this particular machine be connected as a client to a VPN server, while at the same time acting as a VPN server for my network.
The PPTP connection configuration is such that "Send all traffic over VPN connection" is checked.
If PPTP client is NOT connected, I can connect to Lion as VPN server. As soon as I make the connection from Lion as a client, I can no longer
    connect to Lion VPN server.
I understand this is because I am forcing all traffic out the virtual interface (tun0) and eth0 is no longer listening on the local network.
    1. Is it possible to bind the VPN client (on Lion Server) to a particular interface? If I could tell the PPTP client to only use eth1 as the interface of choice, my assumption would be that eth0 would then be free to accept incoming connections.
    2. Is it possible to bind the VPN service  (on Lion Server) to a particular interface? if I could tell the vpn serviec to only listen on eth1, and in turn tell the PPTP client to NOT communicate on eth1 but only eth0 then perhaps I could separate the communications?
In my head, it seems as though both of the above options would be required in order to use Lion as both a VPN server and VPN client
    Any and all help appreciated.

This is a standard facet of most VPNs - the problem lies in your NAT router since both clients appear to come from the same IP address as far as the VPN server is concerned, and the router can't separate out the traffic.
There are a couple of solutions.
First, the built-in VPN server supports L2TP and PPTP protocols. You should be able to connect one system under each protocol, so that gets your two machines connected.
Second, you can replace your NAT router with one that supports multiple VPN clients (often termed 'VPN passthrough').
Third, setup a site-to-site tunnel so that your entire LAN is connected to the VPN (this saves you from having to run a separate VPN client on each machine, but is typically only worth it when you have more machines).

  • Is it possible to configure the OS X Server VPN Service to use Certificates?

I was attempting to set up the VPN Service on OS X Server 4.0.3 (Yosemite) to use certificates instead of a private shared key.  It does not appear that the VPN Server in OS X Server is designed to use anything other than a private shared key (on the server side).  I was wondering if I was missing something?  The VPN Server works fine using the PSK (L2TP or PPTP) - I just thought I would experiment with certificates - but every example I am finding shows the PSK being used - although some of the "how to" tuturials allude to the fact that VPN certificates are supported for L2TP - but they don't provide any detail on how that functionality would be configured.  I tried creating both a VPN Server and VPN Client certificate - however - the certificates show up in the login keychain and do not appear in the certificate window in the Server app.  I was hoping that maybe the presence of a VPN Server Certificate would possibly enable an option to use it when configuring the VPN.

No unfortunately the 'official' Apple VPN service does not have this ability, furthermore as Apple use a heavily customised version of Racoon you cannot cheat by trying to do this via the command line.
You will have to use a completely different VPN server, Mac and iOS clients can do this but not the Mac server side. I use StrongSwan running in a Linux virtual machine.

  • Recovering data from stolen z10 backup to new Z10

How possible is it to update a new Z10 with settings etc from a back up from my stolen Z10 through BB Link?

Very possible, if the former Z10 backup was made to your PC using the Link software.
Connect your new Z10 to the PC, start Link.
You'll need to setup Link for the new device with the your BBID.
Backup/Restore > Restore, select the most recent back up of the former device and proceed.

  • VPN no longer working iPhone 5, possibly related to carrier settings 15.6

Based in the UK on the Three Network. Use my iphone's hotspot feature for internet at home. Use VPN for security and safety, using the OpenVPN protocol on my mac and pc.  Since the 15.6 carrier update (4G), I have been able to connect to the VPN, but lose all internet connectivity, using OpenVPN, L2TP or even PPTP.
VPN service provider has been helpful and can find no issue on their end, and believe it is most likely due to the ISP. ISP states it might be a iphone software problem. All my software is up to date. To be clear, when using my phone as a modem, i am no longer able to access the internet via VPN using any protocol.
I am also unable to access my VPN on my mobile using L2TP or PPTP (less of an issue)
Is anyone else having this issue? Any known cures?
    Many Thanks.

Thank you for your reply.  What I didn't mention was that I have spent days googling to find an solution.  I have tried most alternatives suggested to no avail.  My problem is quite technical and most probably has a very specific and simple solution related to my router (set ABC to 123XY).  All alternatives ended, "if this doesn't work contact the supplier".  So I have - Apple (here), Epson, TP-Link and my ISP.  When (if?) I find a solution I'll post it here for others to learn from.

  • Question about swapping SIM cards on a Z10

Hi, everyone, I am a non-Blackberry user who works in IT support.  One of my clients uses a Blackberry and has often asked me very complicated questions about how to do various unusual things with his device.  At the present time, he is considering switching to a Z10, which would be set up using ActiveSync.  He wants to know if he could swap the SIM card without having to go through the setup process again.   My client travels a lot, and wants to use a local SIM card on an upcoming trip to a very remote area.
I've not been able to find an answer to this anywhere.
This is his exact question: "I just got it from a friend (ATT version) and I am trying to see if I like it enough to switch to it as my primary phone.  Blackberry z10 asks you to sign in with your blackberry world ID when you first set up the phone.  Question: Would you have to do it again if you put a different simm into it?  With iPhone, it makes no difference so long as the device is unlocked—you can then exchange simm cards as often as you want.  Would it be the same with an unlocked blackberry z10 (I know it's not possible with the bold 9900 as System 7 ties your ID to the simm card).  In short, in blackberry z10, could you exchange the US simm for another country's simm without having to wipe the phone,  etc.  "
If anyone can shed some light on this for me, I'd be very grateful.,  Thanks!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    The key issues are thus:
Ensuring that the device is truly carrier unlocked
Ensuring that the specific device model is compatible with the radio frequencies/technologies that the desired carrier uses. There are 4 different Z10 models:
    http://www.bbin.in/en/2013/03/03/4-types-blackberry-z10-models-fits-better/?utm_campaign=4-types-of-...
If both of those are OK (separate research of the desired carriers would of course be necessary), then it is indeed a simple matter to change carriers. For example, I changed from ATT to TMO by simply changing the SIM...no need to WIPE or anything, and my same BBID came along just fine. You should, however, always obtain a properly-sized SIM card from the carrier -- there are plenty of reports of folks trying to use "cut" SIM cards and experiencing errors.
With BB10, it's actually simpler than with legacy BBs. Legacy BBs used the BIS service, which required receipt onto the device (from the carrier data network) of Service Books so as to activate the various services that the user subscribed to. When changing carriers, it often could be that a latent Service Book from the prior carrier causes issues when shifting to a different carrier...and that's where WIPING and such came into play, so as to cleanse the device so that the new carrier could deliver all of the proper Service Books to the device. With BB10, there is no BIS, and there are no Service Books...so all of that complication is eliminated.
    But, as always, YMMV.
    Good luck!

  • Alot of wi-fi hotspots don't support PPTP VPNs

Anyone else using a PPTP based VPN having trouble connecting to open wi-fi hotspots like at airports? On my last trip both airports had free wi-fi hotspots but the iphone/touch was unable to connect using my PPTP VPN service. Do some open hotspots block PPTP access? If so, why?

*"Do some open hotspots block PPTP access?"*
    Possibly
    *"If so, why?"*
The only people that would know that are the network admins of those hotspots.

    Can anybody explain this behavior?
Does it mean that Cisco just programably cut of the PPTP functionality?

    Hello Sultanov,
As you well stated, PPTP termination is not supported in ASR platform.
My opinion is that the CLI commands and behavior you see are a consequence of code remaining in the IOS-XE version you are running. Most likely, since the feature is not supported, it wasn't tested and this remaining were not notice.
IOS-XE has a different structure than IOS. It inheritances some things form IOS but there are more other things that need to be implemented for a protocol to work properly.
Since it is not supported, even if you are able to bring a PPTP tunnel up on an ASR, if you face any issue with that deployment, it will not be supported by TAC or development teams.
Hopefuly this provides an answer to your concerns.
    Best regards.

  • IPhone 4S 5.1.1 b206 failed to connect to L2TP VPN (Mac OSX 10.6.8)

I just upgraded my iPhone 4S from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1 b206, and I noticed this issue.
I have a Mac Mini Server running Mac OSX 10.6.8.
I build up the VPN server with L2TP and PPTP.
Before I upgrade my iPhone to 5.1.1, it works with L2TP and PPTP both.
After I upgrade to 5.1.1 b206, it only connect to PPTP, L2TP shows the error message
    "VPN Connection"
"The L2TP-VPN server did not respond. Try reconnecting. If the problem continues, verify your settings and contact your Administrator."
Simultaneously, I tried my iPad, it connects to L2TP AND PPTP with no problem.
    Please advice, thanks.

The point of checking the console, is there might be a message that pops up in response to trying to copy a file to the target. Your looking for a doorbell like response. IE you try to copy a 1k file, error message pops up. Try to copy again, same error message.
Is Copy Enabled on the target client?
ie: ard into the target, open system preferences, click on sharing, click on remote management. ( If allow access is set to "only these users"; then select the account your using to ard into the computer. ) click on the options button, Verify the fallowing items are checked: Open & Quite Applications, Change Settings, Delete & Replace Items, Restart & Shutdown, Copy Items. click the Ok button.
if Copy Is Enabled, have you verified the firewall is off?
ie: ard into the client, open system preferences, click on security, click on the Firewall tab, verify Firewall is off. This would also go for any programs that act like a firewall. (little snitch, anti virus barrier, extra)
Have you verified the ARD reporting time on the target computer? Some times ARD can get weird if the reports have ran in a while.
ie: get info on the client in ARD. click on the reporting tab. Set the reporting time to be a few minutes from the actual time. Let the time on the target computer hit the reporting time. Then try copying a file.
Have you ruled out the network?
ie: plug the ARD computer into the target directly by ethernet. make sure airport is off on both computers. Then try copying the file again.

  • Yahoo messenger for Z10

I downloaded YM for Z10 and I can't find how to turn on the conversation history or otherwise save it. On the 9900, you could turn on the history and save it to either the device or the memory card and then go back and look at your conversations by date.
Any idea how that's done on the Z10 or if it's even possible ?
Also YM won't rotate to landscape mode, any ideas how to do that ?
    Thanks.

    Hey Fred98tj,
    Thanks for the quick reply.
I'm sorry, I do not have any information if the save chat history will be back. Also have you tried to copy a message or chat from BBM to your email?  Do you get the same  message?
In Yahoo! Messenger press the 3 dots and select share and choose your email account.  This will paste the chat as well.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.
