Z10 Lock Screen showing deleted emails

hey folks,
So i have an issue with my Z10 where the lock screen is showing 2 emails that were deleted from my inbox.
I have already validated that, no, there are no unread emails in my HUB (no red astericks and no numbers for the mailboxes).
I have restarted my device several times which, unfortunately, hasn't helped.
New emails are showing up in the screen as per normal and are disappearing as the messages are read/deleted. It's just these 2 that appear to be stuck.
Thanks

You've deleted those two, any chance they are filed as well?
And on your restart of the the device, try a powered on Battery pull.

Hey, i just got the iPhone 5s and when i unlock my phone  the clock on the lock screen shows up faded for a second and goes away is this supposed to happen

    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup...  Restore as New...
    Restart / Reset   >  http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    Restoring  >  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If you try all these steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...
Be sure to make an appointment first..

  • Spotlight Search showing deleted emails

After loaded IOS6 - now when I do a "Search Iphone" using spotlight search I see emails from my Gmail account that were COMPLETLY deleted over 3 weeks ago (about 10 of them). This occurs even AFTER COMPLETLY cleaning out ALL Gmail folders (which they were when I downloaded the update)
How can I delete from this permanently search? Where could they be "hiding" on the Iphone..... Archive is shut of (and always has been). again ALL MY gmail folders are COMPLETLY empty.
Tried deleting Gmail account from phone and did a power down and reboot AFTER deleting Gmail account from phone too! yes... cleared history & cookies in Safari too.

I've been having the same problem with deleted emails showing up in Spotlight on iOS 6.0.2 (iPhone 5) so I did some experiments. (I'm using an IMAP account, not POP, and all my folders are on the server.)
There are actually two different problems (three if you count people who don't check all their account folders so the message is just tucked away in a place they didn't think to look).
The first problem occurs when you compose a message but don't hit Send, then hit Cancel, hit Save Draft, go back to the draft, and send it. Then you go to the Sent folder and delete the message and go to the Trash and delete it there. Now it doesn't show up anywhere in any account folder. But, if you go to Spotlight and search for something in the message, it will appear and you can bring it up and send it again. Mail is obviously squirreling away the draft in a place where it can't be deleted. Nothing short of a backup, reset, and restore will get rid of it.
The second problem occurs when you delete a message from a folder and then go the Trash and delete it there. If you immediately go to Spotlight, you'll see a "ghost" message: it's in Spotlight but if you try to bring it up, you'll find it doesn't really exist and Mail either shows a blank message or shows the account folders. You can get rid of these "ghosts": press the Home button to see the home screen and then double-click the Home button to show the running apps, then press and hold on the Mail icon and click the '-' badge to quit Mail. Then if you go back to Spotlight and search again, they're gone.
So there are two bugs: one serious and one that can be fixed by quitting Mail. And these are caused by real files being kept by Mail so using iErase or Zero Free Space to clear free space (by writing a huge file) has no effect. And, until Apple fixes the serious bug, never, ever, save a draft. (And if you do, you'll have to back up, reset, and restore.)

  • Sending a screen show via email

I am a new mac user. I have created a screen show in iphoto 08 and exported it as a .mov file so it will supposedly play in quicktime and can then be emailed.
When I open the .mov file in quicktime it plays but with a 3ivX Trial in red across the screen and a red note saying demo expired. I redownloaded quicktime and the same thing is still occurring? Any ideas?
The same thing occurs when I export it to iDVD - the screen comes up with the same message.
Also, if I send the email to a PC user will they be able to play the file from Outlook?
    Thanks

    Tammy
Someone (you?) has tried a demo of this 3ivX software and it has expired. It needs to be removed from the Mac. There's probably an uninstaller with it somewhere. Or else try google it.
The mov file will play on Windows if the Windows folk have Quicktime for Windows installed.

  • PUZZLED: Iphone 4s ran out of space after taking one photo from lock screen and deleted whole photo album. Can I recover?

My phone is running 6.0.1. I took one photo from the lock screen by sliding up the camera button.  It was a little blurry so I tried again and the iphone 4ssaid it couldn't because the phone was out of space.
After shutting the phone off and turning it back, put in the passcode and checked my photos and they were all gone.  my usage says I only have 150kb left on the 16gb phone it says zero photos and zero videos. I only have 10 applications and 606 songs.  It seems the photos are still on the device as the space is being used but i cant access them.  Any idea or suggestions will help. Thanks

I i backup from current state would it not backup without the photos. Maybe I should just restore from the last backup posible and this should have all photos until then. But before i restore from backup I wish i could just access the photos. I don't understand in the first place how they all deleted, and secondly why iphone still recognizes the space being used.  This is such a glitch, which is very frustrating.  i wish someone at apple can give me more insight....

  • Spotlight on Iphone 4 showing deleted emails

When I use spotlight for various searches, it shows email messages which I have already deleted. Although when you select them it takes you to the folder the message was originally stored in, but the message is not there.
The messages are not in any trash folder or deleted messages folder either on the iphone itself or on the server. It doesn't seem to matter whether it's a POP account or IMAP account.
There are also a number of messages which can be read - these seem to be ones that I have written or started to write, but not actually sent (could have been saved as a draft - but again nothing in the draft folders). You get taken to and can read the full email from being selected in spotlight, but is not stored anywhere in my mail folders.
I'm running the latest version of iOS 5.1.
Is there anyway to either reset the spotlight cache, or delete the cache to remove all these "deleted" emails from spotlight. I have searched many forums, but to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Andy

I was able to contact a company that has a similar app as ierase.  Now I understand the issue.  These programs do overwrite "free space."  But, WITHIN various apps, including email, there are files that basically point you to the data by saving a line or two (in the case of emails) in the application itself.  This is called a "cache." These files live in the apps, not the free space.   It's important because that's how computers know how to "remember" stuff for you so you can search, etc.    BIG BUT:  iPhone does not allow you to remove the cache or specific items from it.  Android phones seem to have this setting.  Your computer has this capability.  But your iphone does not.  The only way to remove information from the cache is to do a complete restore and not back up with iTunes.  Puleese tell me if I'm wrong.
Think of it as a file cabinet.  The top drawer has the operating system files that don't get touched unless there is an update of the operating system, e.g. to 5.1.1.  The second drawer contains all your applications, with subfolders for each one.  The subfolders contain a whole lotta flags (often called placeholders).  These flags say: go to file drawer 3 and look up such and such.  File drawer 3 i is your free space where all the stuff you do is stored.  If you go to file drawer 2 and remove the flags, the system doesn't where to look for stuff in file drawer 3. You can add and remove files from drawer 3, or zero out the data, but the flags are still hanging around in drawer 2.  You get my drift. I'm so right brained...
This is my basic understanding of why this problem is so widespread.  It would be nice if Apple could allow cache editing.

  • Search is showing deleted emails

The new search feature in 3.0 is displaying deleted emails that have been emptied from the trash. The same emails are not accessible at all from within the Mail program. I thought this was an issue when upgrading the system, but after a complete restore, without copying anything from a backup, the same thing is happening. Any way to permanently delete emails from memory so they do not show in spotlight search?

Recently upgraded to 3.01 and using spotlight search I've noticed the same. Maybe this explains why I'm sure my phone is slowing-up. Spoke to apple tech support today and I was told that the next O.S release will include something to remedy this and make it possible to clear the cache. I was informed they have been trying to resolve this issue and the O.S release is due later this month (Sept 09). The other suggestion given by tech support of restoring as a new phone seems a ridiculous way to sort this out - I'll wait for the new release. Just doing a restore will reload the previous info back on from the backup. Naming/restoring as a new phone will effectively mean there is no backup available to go onto the phone once it is totally erased. Hope this helps and makes sense

  • Lock screen shows blurred background image with Safari run and volume controls

The normally sharp image in the lock screen is blurred. Run and volume controls for Safari are displayed at the top of the screen - volume slider moves, play button has no effect. I do not know how to return the screen to normal appearance. Wallpaper settings show normal image. There are no active movies or videos running.

OK, I returned to the settings for Wallpaper and Brightness and selected a different Wallpaper - the problem went away. The cause may be that the specific wallpaper I had been using is no longer present for selection.

  • Inbox Screen Showing New Email But No Email

My inbox screen on my homepage is showing that I have a new message but there are no emails in my box. I've synced my phone several times to see if that would make it disappear, but it doesn't. I've also reset my network settings and that didn't fix it. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Go to settings/mail/the offending mail account/and change your "mail days to sync" to No Limit. Then go into your email box to let it start downloading all emails until it finds the mail item that it thinks is unread. This download process will update your phone so that it realizes that the email it thought was unread is actually read. Then go back and change your mail days to sync back to its original setting. The reason it wouldn't update this on its own is because the mail item is older than the "mail days to sync" so your phone is not updating the status of those mail items.

  • I have an iPad 2 running iOS 8. The email app is not working. The screen shows empty email box, then closes on its own. I have tried closing the app, turning ipad on and off and reset to no avail. Any other ideas? Thanks.

I Have an iPad 2 running iOS 8. When I open email, the email isn't there. I have tried closing the app, turning off the ipad and resetting the iPad. None of that helps. Any ideas? Thanks.

So the app is opening to a white screen then closing on its own?  If you have deleted your email accounts & the app is still crashing then I would try resetting all settings (without deleting data).
Did you reboot the iPad after removing the email accounts?  If not, try that first holding the home & sleep/wake buttons simultaneously until the apple logo appears, then release & once booted back up, try opening the mail app again.
The problem may have started because one of your email messages might have been corrupt or had a corrupt attachment.  If you can access it from a computer, sign into your email & see if there are any that can't be opened or produce errors opening.  If so, delete the offending emails then try adding the account back to the iPad.

  • Blackberry Z10 and Choice of deleting Email on phone or the phone and the server

Just like the 9930 my email is set up through a POP account. When deleting I was given the option to delete from the phone or from the phone and the server. This option is no longer available and I lost a bunch of emails that went away for ever!!

    Hello,
There are many threads here about this topic. BB10 is a revolutionary change from before...not evolutionary. Hence, it should not be expected that things work as they did before.
As it stands, BB10 uses ActiveSync for email, where legacy used BIS. With BIS as the interface, there was the ability for additional things, including the "Delete On..." setting. With BB10, that is not available. Now, the device and the server are intended to be mirror images of each other (within the timeframe of the max 30-day sync).
So, this is WAD -- Working As Designed (though I'm hopeful the BlackBerry has heard all of the cries and is looking into future modifications).
The workaround is to file messages into a separate folder so as to hide them from your device, but not delete them from your server. This, though, has an additional complication...when you file, the folder to which you file is automatically selected for sync and display to your BB, then displaying all unread items from this folder in your Messages list for that account. So, after each filing session, you must manually shut off that sync setting so those items are not shown on the device.
    Good luck!
