Z10 photo rotation within apps.

MY Z10 HAS STARTED ROTATING PICTURES TAKEN WITHIN FACEBOOK AND TWITtER APPS. ANY PHOTO TAKEN WITH THE CAMERA IS FINE IT IS JUST ONES TAKEN WITHIN THE APP. ANY SUGgESTIONS I HAVE DONE A RESTART.

Sorry to hear you're having difficulty with the photo rotation.
When you capture the photo, how are you holding your device? Horizontal or portrait?
If you rotate your device when capturing the photo, does it show proper in the preview before you go to post?

I have photos that are rotated within a photo stream created from a project even though the photo displays properly within the project. How can I get the photos to have the proper rotation within the photo stream?

I have a photo stream that was created from a subset of photo from a rather large Aperature project. Some of the photos show up rotated within the photo stream but are not rotated within the project. Why is this happening and how do I fix the rotation within the photo stream? I do have the latest version of Aperature and have all of the necessary updates applied to my devices used to view the photo stream. The photos do show up rotated within the photo stream segment of Aperature, so I am sure it is not an issue with the output device (iPad and Apple TV). I do know that I cannot edit photos within a photo stream, but no amount of editing within the project allows the photos to be properly rotated within the photo stream. All help would be greatly appreciated.

That will work, but it is the long way 'round.
As Frank noted, Book Albums are just specialized Albums. Albums can show any Image in your Library, regardless of where the Album is located on the Library Inspector, and regardless of which Project contains the Image. You can put your Albums anywhere (in a Folder called "Books" for example). You can put Images from anywhere in your Library in any Album.
The easy way 'round:
- Make a new Book Album
- Select Images you may want to put in your Book. Flag them.
- Select some more. Flag them.
- Go to the "Flagged" container (listed near the top of the Library Inspector), select all, and drag-and-drop them to your Book Album.
- Repeat as needed, or just drag-and-drop directly into the Book Album.
Note that you can remove any Image from any Album (including Books) by selecting and hitting the "{Delete}" key. This _does not remove the Image from the Project that contains it, or from the Library.
Note, too, that once the Images are in your Book Album, you then put them in the Book you are creating for publication. The Book Album contains the superset of Images with which you populate the Book itself. The Book Album also holds the Book.

Some photos are rotated within the wrong orientation

Hello fellow mac users, I am having a strange issue and would like your help.
Following a corruption of my iPhoto database, I used a third party software to repair the database. I also did additional things like repair thumbnails, etc... I managed to repair the library but I am now having a strange issue.
Portrait photos are rotated within the portrait frame. To repair, I need to swap the resolution in Photoshop:
1. What I see in iPhoto.
2. Rotated photo in iPhoto. This is obsviously distorted.
3. Original photo after inverting resolution in photoshop...
Is there a conveninent way to perform a batch repair without having to open every photo one by one in photoshop??? I hame probably more than 500 photos like that!!!

The picture now looks fine in iPhoto (thumbnail is still wrong)
Then try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window.
2 - Run Option #2, Rebuild Thumbails. It might take more than one try.

IPhone 6plus camera freezes when trying to take photos from within other apps

Hi, 8.1 6Plus, my regular camera turns black screen when trying to take photos from within other apps or sometimes between photos in the regular camera app. I can still take a photo, I just have no idea what I'm seeing or taking a picture of. Then when I press retake (in other apps) the screen comes back on and it works. Its annoying more than anything else. Any ideas? Have done the whole close apps/restart process.

thanks but exactly how do I do this. I tried setting the new macair up using migration assistant but for some reason not everything has come through. I bought a thunderbolt cable to improve the transfer rate.
Now my question is how do I transfer the iTunes folder. I have authorised the new macair for iTunes and am within the 5 computer limit.

8.2 update - unable to upload photos from Camera app

I downloaded the 8.2 update, and now I can't seem to upload photos from the Camera app to Facebook when I check-in. It only brings up my videos from the Camera app, not the photos. Does anyone know how to fix this?

You're welcome.
It is needed by the FaceBook app in order to upload photos with the app. You need it on for the apps that require location services in order to use the app or to use the location services function included with the app. You don't necessarily need it on for every app - that is up to you.
The arrow in the menu bar means location services is being actively used by an app.
The arrow next to an app at Settings > Location Services means the app has requested your location within the last 24 hours.

New upload issue - bad photo rotation on homepage upload

When I upload my homepage from iPhoto 5.02 to Homepage, some (but not all) the photos that I had rotated to portrait format have reverted to their original landscape format - so they are displayed sideways. They are all on the correct orientation in the page that iPhoto displays as you compose - it must be a problem somewhere in the upload.
Can anyone offer any help? Am I missing something? Or is this a new glitch in the upload process?

Further to this - a bit of perusal of the discussions under the searches "photo rotation" and "photo orientation" show a varying bunch of problems relating to differences of photo orientation between the full-size and the original. (I have checked, and my photos that Homepage is displaying wrongly also display wrongly within iPhoto in edit mode). They all seem to crop up in May - none before, with one exception; issues of photo rotation when syncing to iPod Photo, which crop up from Feb/March.
So my guess is that there was a fix for the iPod sync problem, that has thrown everything else out. Homepage uploads, slideshows, possibly photo-albums, export to iDVD - all the things that work off the (incorrectly oriented) full-size, rather than the correctly oriented thumbnail. (I expect the preview of Homepage works from the thumbnail, whereas the actually uploaded page is processed from the full-sized image).
Another factor might be that all (?) that specify their camera are using Canon, models that automatically embed camera orientation. They note that iPhoto used to orient the photos automatically on import, but now they need to manually rotate. Could just mean a lot of Apple users choose Canon though...
I've reported it as a bug, so I guess we just wait for 5.0.3. In the meantime, faulty homepages are an unfortunate public advertisement of an embarrassing Apple iGlitch.

Since updating to iOS 4.2, I can no longer send email from within apps, such as Penultimate, Artrage, photo roll etc. Any ideas?

Photos Rotated Incorrectly

All of our photos are properly rotated within iPhoto - all properly display portrait or landscape within iPhoto.
Some of our older pictures, from a few years ago, and a few iPhoto versions ago, show up on the screen saver rotated. There doesn't seem to be any pattern of which ones that are incorrectly rotated.
Has anyone ever seen this? How to correct this?

That does help explain things - those photos displaying "sideways" are the portrait ones I took with the camera turned "sideways", so if Screen Saver's showing the originals, too, that makes sense.
Question for Apple: why not only show the "edited"/"rotated" versions?
Going through this for the discuss refreshed the memory a bit. I do think that I had been pointing to the "Photos" option, because when I select the iPhoto Library, it takes a bit of time to bring up the first image. Re-testing just now, I see that it still has a 10-15 sec delay, but the iPhoto Library option is showing our pictures. So, maybe that's just due to the size of the library - 14,000+ pictures / 60+ Gig of disk space.

Photo rotation gone in iPad1 with iOS5??

I have recently updated my iPad with iOS5 (old iPad1, not iPad2)
and found out that photo rotation button in the photos app is GONE.
I'm typically using my iPad to import photos from my digital cameras by camera connection kit,
and when some of the photos are in wrong directions, there was this rotation button to fix it right in the old iOS4.
But now its gone without any explanations!!
I'm not asking Apple to support advanced photo editing feature like Pad2 in my iPad1....
I just want the photo rotation function WHICH WAS THERE BEFORE back.
Is it just me, or are there any hidden intentions??

I talked to Apple support this great problem, no one could give me an answerbecause they did not know of the existence of this function with "camera kit".After a report via email with a screenshot from the internet they said: "It's normalthat you change something in an update" and the link:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4559
Stupid answer! Stupid and without respect for careful MacUser! The instruction manual iPad1 function is present with the "camera kit" and must remain so.
Do not they realize unuseable an expensive accessory Apple?
I checked if ios 5.1 rotation function has returned to work, but it is not so!
Boys fill the mail service, spread the problem on all forums, we use all the channels you know! Apple should make our voice heard. And if we are not heardwe are all going to return the "camera kit" asking for a refund of our money!

Are you able to email from Mail with those two accounts? If so:
1 - go to iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and delete both accounts. Now add them back and try again.
2 - a better solution IMO is to set Mail as the email client for iPhoto is iPhoto's General preference pane. This gives you better access to your contacts, a sent copy of all emails and, if you want a layout similar to iPhoto's, photo layouts located in Mail's stationary.
