Z10 Voice control app lost

Cannot find voice control app on my Z10. I hold the mute button and the bb assistant turns on, it it says to say acommand, i try when the logo flashesand it never works. Is bb assistant the voice contol app? I might ofdeleted it a while back. How do i get it back ? i cannot do voice command from my motorcycle helmet bluetooth headset. Which works with other phones..... Help! Thx

Lost compass and voice control apps

I upgraded from a 3g to a 3GS and when I plugged into iTunes I told it to restore the new phones settings from backup of the 3G. All was good until I realized that this wiped out the native 3GS apps- compass, maps, and voice control. Any ideas how to get them back without restoring to factory settings?

Those apps probably cannot be "wiped out" since they are built into the phone.
Try a reset of the phone: Hold the button on top and the Home button together.
Also look and see if your icons have moved to a different screen.

Since it was working before, have you yet tried a reboot? Either a shut down and restart, or perhaps a batt-pull reboot.

Z10 Voice Control speaks in US-format date for Uk date

Issue: UK format date 02/08/13 is "said" by Voice Control as "2nd August" - the date is in the calendar correctly as 8th Feb.
Steps to repeat the issue: "Schedule new appointment" using the Voice Control and add an appointment today (8th Feb 2013) - correctly added to the Calendar but the voice confirmation says "2nd August".

When you go to Settings> Voice control> Is the Language set to English UK?
Go into Settings> Language and Input> What is the Display Language and Region set to?

Feature Request: Voice Control to check Favorites first

When trying to dial using Voice Control, it would be really nice if the Voice Control application would try to match names in the favorites list before going to the full list of Contacts.
I have my Office listed in my favorites at the #1 position. Every time I say "Dial Office", it mismatches to someone else in my contact list (despite changing pronunciation, inflection, etc). I even tried renaming the contact "The Office", and that didn't help.
Favorites are the most likely numbers to be called, so I would think the Voice Control application should start it's matching search there.
Just a thought.

Has anyone else noticed whether or not the Voice Control app gives preference to any particular contact list over others? I'm trying to figure out in what order it searches for matches. I have about 20 different sub-folders of contacts (carried over from outlook/exchange). I'm curious in what order it searches them.
Anyone have any ideas?

HT201263 I did the above, my iphone lost all my apps, it is switching screens going to voice control automatically won't shut off....this is becoming very frustrating! HELP PLEASE!

I woke up to my iPhone with a plug in picture to ITunes. I did a back up and restore according to the instructions on ITunes. I now lost all my apps, my voice control goes on automatically and my screens are switching by themselves even during texting....HELP Please! What is the next step before I throw this thing through the window?

Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

The home button does not respond and when I turn on phone it activate voice control. I have to turn the phone off and back on to access another app

my iphone 4 home button is not working anymore. I have to turn the phone off and on again to access an app. When turning it on it immediately goes to voice control. I cannot get out of this. I have checked and updated the software and finally reset the phone. All this has left me with the same problem. Any ideas???

UPDATED TO 4.2 AND I CANT USE VOICE CONTROL OR PUT PICTURES BEHIND MY APPS.

Not all features of the iOS 4 update are available to the 1st or 2nd generation iPhones. These include, but not limited to: video recording, game centre, HDR photos, multitasking, voice control etc
I also think you mean iOS 4.1, as 4.2 is not available yet for public use.

Is there a way to calibrate voice control on ipod touch ios 6.0.1?

it seems like every time I update to a new ios it just causes a new problem. not usually a big one, but something. last time (when I updated to ios 6) my app store kept crashing. this time the biggest problem I'm having is that since updating to ios 6.0.1 my voice control can't seem to understand me. I ask it to play artist "pink" and instead it somehow thinks I've asked it to play songs by "greenday" or, even funnier "mannheim steamroller" it's like I'm playing russian roulett on whether or not it will actually understand me, only instead of 6 chambers and one bullet (it misunderstanding me being the bullet) it's more like 1,000 chambers and 999 bullets. I have pretty much given up on voice control for now, which means I don't get to change what I'm listening to if I'm driving, since I'm very safety conscious and will not look at the screen to change it. does anyone know if there is a way to calibrate the voice control?

Nothing special for VC. You can try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

My new (8/2012) iPod Touch: voice control suddenly activates on its own. Is there a reason for this and how do you get it to stop?

For reasons unknown to me, my brand new ipod touch keeps activating Voice Control. I am not pressing the home button or touching any controls. I can be doing nothing with it and it just kicks on, sometimes interrupting what is already going on (like listening to an audio book in the Audible app. Is there a reason for this and how do I stop it?

Voice control after 10.2.1.537 update

The voice control on my z10 after this up date has no feedback commands. It will take commands and dictation but there is no audible response . All the settingsare what they should be and the app worked well with 10.1. Can anyone shed some light on this? Is there a way to reload voice control using blackberry link? Are any of you having the same issue that would indicate a glitch?

Forgive the dumb question here...because at first I didn't think mine was fixed either.
I honestly don't remember...when you first hit the Voice Control microphone app icon...I don't get a voice as it's waiting for an input from me. Once I say something like "Send text" it then responds via voice feedback correctly. I don't remember if this is how it worked before.
The reason I mention this is that when I first tried it after reboot...I also thought it wasn't fixed.

Yes, but you need to buy a compatible headphones, such as the "Apple Headphones" in the Apple Store. They are $30, but also come with a built-in controller. I bought them, and love them, but unfortunately they are lost in the blackhole known as my room.

Some advice from various locations on the web (use google). Each works for some users, not all. Give these a try.
Try to deauthorize the computer then authorize it.
select song or app. that's not authorized, itunes will ask for your password, enter password, click ok, and ok again. Done.
I had the same problem when I switched from my laptop to a macbook. What I figured out was that I had purchased applications under two different email addresses. You can click on one of the applications that is not syncing and go to "File" then "Get Info" to find out what email address you used to purchase those applications. Hopefully this helps.
Sometimes a reboot of either the computer or the iPhone or both fixes this, if you’ve authorized already.
