Z1s freezing / locking up issues

I was wondering if anyone else had any issues with their Z1s locking up / freezing?
I waranteed my first one because tmobile wouldn't let me return it (They said because I installed apps, that's why it's not working)
I received a second one and it's doing the same thing.
It worked for a few days and now it will work for about 1.5 minutes and then lock up where I have volume-up + power to reset it.
I've looked at battery usage and the largest user of battery is Media App.
Because of that, I suspected my SD card, but I took it out and restarted and I still get the freezing.
Another thing that's probably unrelated, but might be, is I keep getting the waterproof popup even though all my covers are firmly snug.
Any help is greatly appreciated
Also, the battery drains fast during this whole mess.

I suggest you force shutdown with this key combination: power button+vol up until the phone vibrates 3 times. After this,do not turn on the device.Open SUS and follow the procedures to check firmware and repair.

  • Pavilion TS 23-F270 (Repeated Freeze / Lock-up Issues)

Recently purchased HP Pavilion TS 23-F270 from AAFES PX.
Ensured everything was upgraded properly & up to date, to include upgrade to Windows 8.1 (64-bit).
In general, runs very smoothly, however during past several days, computer has:
    1.  Fail to wake-up after prolonged "sleep"; reboot required.
    2.  Lock-up/freeze while on internet.
    3.  Lock-up/freeze while typin a Word Document.
The lock-ups have occured both silently (without warning), or with a "scratchy - screech" sound effect about 1 second before it freezes.
Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

  • Need help with a freezing / Lock up issue

    Hey Everyone,
I have an lenovo T400 running Windows XP with iTunes 9.2.1.5.
I have 2 different iPhones (3gs and 4) both with the latest 4.x software.
Any time I connect either phone to this Laptop iTunes locks up.
The seriers of events happens as...
    Itunes sees the iphone and...
    Verifying iPhone
    syncing
    backing up
    syncing apps
    Syncing
    Then it locks.
I've been googling an dsearching here, some poeple thinking it was a Voicememo or issue, podcast issue, app issue, music issue. I've deleted all of that off one phone and it still locks up.
I've been searching and out of ideas.
What order does a phone sync in?
Is there a way to watch it sync and see if it's hanging on one file?

I am having the same issue suddenly the last couple of days. I haven't installed anything else nor have I done anything out of the ordinary. Whenever I select multiple items this also seems to happen.

Ever since I had help form Bossman to fix my bad Bios flash https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=121102.0 I am experiencing random and frequent freeze ups. Could it be that I still have optimized defaults loaded through BIOS and something in my system cant handle the settings? Maybe I just need to load regular safe defaults and check it? Has anyone else had this experience? Do I need to reload my OS?
The screensaver has locked it up, and when i tried to play red alert 3 it locked up making a sound like a musical note being drug out. Mouse stops responding as well as the keyboard.

Think you have an overclock. Don't know for sure though. If you have it at 3200 Mhz it's a 6400. Is this yours: http://products.amd.com/en-us/DesktopCPUDetail.aspx?id=451
The other 6000+ has a speed of 3000MHz
so i must have the 3000mhz because i know i have the 6000+. Thanks for clarifying that. I have run the memory test that appears on the windows xp or vista boot up choosing screen. I haven't messed with any of the bios settings since the reflash so especially if a 6000+ cant or shouldnt be OC'd, then I shoudl probably go back and load basic defaults. Am I wrong in assuming the optimal defualts are over clocking settings MSI made up?

  • IPod Classic won't Restore and FREEZES/LOCKS iTUNES! Help.

    Hi. First, the specifics:
I have an iPOD Classic (120GB).
    I have Windows Vista R2 (64-bit).
I have the latest version of iTunes, yes, for 64-bit.
With that out of the way, I started seeing issues with my iPod not being able to play certain songs. I'd find the song, hit the play arrow, nothing would happen. The time would not move, song would not play. Here's what I've tried to do initially:
    Re-install iTunes, re-sync.
Still wouldn't play these songs.. Not all, but many songs.
    So, I tried to Restore.
Initially, it looked like it was restoring properly - - but took way longer than usual. Like 2 hours. At the end, I got an error "Could not sync this song, Could not sync iPod."
I looked at iPod, had to set it up, choose ENGLISH as language, etc.  Search iPod, found NO MUSIC, NO VIDEOS, etc.
    Tried simply re-syncing, wouldn't work.
So, I disconnected, restarted my computer and tried to RESTORE again.
I connect it via a USB 2.0 and the iPod cable. I have been doing this for years and years and this iPod has worked for the 3 years I have had it.
I have had iPod since their inception, so I'm not a rookie. I also have an iPhone and an iPad2.
So I connect the iPod as usual. NOW, it basically FREEZES iTunes. I CONTL-ALT-DEL and find it's always iTunes (NOT RESPONDING).
This happens EVERY TIME... I tried restarting several times, same issue.
So, I unistalled all components of iTunes > RESTART COMPUTER.
I re-download the latest version of iTunes, yes the correct one.
I tried syncing or restoring. DOESN'T RECOGNIZE iPOD, FREEZES/LOCKS iTUNES.
HERE'S OTHER THINGS I have tried:
RESTORING from DISK MODE. (DID NOT WORK, LOCKS iTUNES)
I downloaded the Windows Update for Vista that helps not corrupt iPod when disconnecting too early.
Downloaded update, did NOT help with the issue.
Un-installed iTunes again. Restarted computer. Re-installed newest version of iTunes.
ONE THING TO POINT OUT, when I connect my iPod, iTunes launches if not open and I get a WINDOWS box that says:
    MICROSOFT WINDOWS:
Do You Want To Scan And Fix Errors on Steven's iPod (L:) ??
I tried both options: YES, Try to Fix, NO - Continue
That doesn't work, and iTunes still freezes regardless of option.
Again, tried DISK MODE, tried Regular mode...
    Nothing works...
    PLEASE HELP...

Guys, if you all having the same problem as Steven, then do the iPod Disk Diagnostic, as posted earlier by tt2, it wont fix your problem, but helps in troubleshooting.
Main cause is the iPod Hardisk is dying, but if the DD report are good, then it is the USB connection timeout.
So have a go at the Disk Diagnostic first.

  • M8530f freeze/lockup issue.

Was playing final fantasy xiv on pc earlier when suddenly I lost all sound, effects, and animations in game. When I attempted to exit the game the entire PC locked up and crashed. Originally I thought this a software issue with the game. However after restarting the pc began having hang issues on every program used on it shortly after restart. Diagnostic tools are saying there are no issues. However programs are becoming unresponsive for minutes whenever any type of input is attempted and refuse to close when told to. Resource monitor does not show any high usage of cpu or ram on the system.
    Computer model m8530f
    Windows Vista 64bit
Most of the sytem is still factory spec with the following exceptions
system has 6gb of ram. I replaced a single 1 gb chip with the 2gb chip from another pc of the same model that suffered a sata port failure in the motherboard.
Video card was replaced with a geforce 610GT. Onboard video has been disabled.
Sytem was not in use for a few years until previous system became inoperable. After making those 2 listed changes the system ran just fine for about 2 weeks with no issues until today. After a reboot I seem to get about 5 minutes of normal performance before the lag, freeze, and hang issues begin occuring.

    Hi UkyoSonoda,
I would start with the recent hardware changes made.
Before reversing those changes verify your graphics drivers are installed properly by opening Control Panel - Device Manager. Do you have errors? If yes, uninstall graphics drivers and reinstall drivers or check for updated drivers at Nvidia website.
If the symptom persists, then run system file checker.
Then run hardware diagnostic tools . If any test fails then you may have found the problem.
    Lastly, undo the ram upgrade.
Then undo the graphics card upgrade.
Hopefully one of these procedures will isolate the cause and return your PC to a stable condition.
Have you checked internal component temperatures? This free progam is nice. Try installing if you can. I realize you have stability problems and may not be able to install and use prior to a system lockup.
    Good luck!

  • Locking up issue?

On two occasions since upgrading to Lion, my IMac24 has locked up. Although it's a weird locking up issue because I can still move the mouse around, but nothing else actually works. No apps work. CMD+ALT+ESC doesn't work. The only solution is to reboot. Very frustrating.

I had the same thing happening on my new 27" iMac after installing Lion. I narrowed it down to the Flash plugin a few days ago. I found this third party app that disable flash, ClickToFlash.
    http://hoyois.github.com/safariextensions/clicktoplugin/
If a web site uses HTML 5 a h.264 video will be used instead of the Flash video. For example YouTube, Facebook and Vimeo… If a webpage uses Flash video only, you can double click to play the Flash video. No locking up for a few days now.
I have also read that if you uncheck 'enable hardware acceleration' in the Flash settings, this should fix the freezing up too. Right click on a Flash video while it is playing…. pick Settings from the menu… uncheck 'enable hardware acceleration'. I also did this and still no freezing up on my iMac!!!

tried reinstalling different OS like Win7

    Help please...

I understand your system will not boot beyond the HP logo splash screen.
    What is the product number?
NOTE: Do NOT provide the serial number.
Are you able to access BIOS at all or does it also lock/freeze there?
Does Ubuntu Live boot with the HDD/s disconnected from the system entirely?  Open the PC and disconnect the SATA cable that is connecting the HDD to the system.  Once that is done, turn the system on and try to boot from the Ubuntu Live.  This should help isolate where the issue is located.

  • HP Probook 4520s freezing/ locking up

Hi im having problems with my probook 4520s.  Its freezing/locking up on me.  It seems to be happening a lot more recently.  It has happened 4 time today and each time i had to hold the power button to power it down.  It seems to happen when im on the internet and everything freezes.  I cant move the mouse and the keyboard doesnt work.  I have a 64 bit proccessor with i5 and 4 gigs of ram.  Has anyone else had these problems or know of anything i can to to trouble shot these problems?  thanks in advance

    Hi there,
Do you let it load after it freezes?  Sometimes your computer is just laggy at times.  Also, how old is the computer and do you try Ctrl+Alt+Delete?  Sometimes that works and unfreezes your PC.
Remember to click the white star under my name to give me some "Kudos"

  • Freezing/ locking up since yosemite

logic pro 9 freezing /locking up since yosemite was installed, very frustrated, can't use it at all!

This is more than likely.... Several performance related issues have been reported with Logic Pro 9/LPX and Yosemite...
Suggestion: Roll back using your backups... to your previous OS X/Logic combo until such issues have been resolved....

  • Older Intel iMac Freezing/Locking Up

Most of the reports of iMacs freezing/locking up seem to be coming from owners of the new aluminum models, but my "first generation" (early 2006) 20" Intel iMac recently began exhibiting the same problem after having performed flawlessly for me from the time of its purchase.
That leads me to believe the root cause is more likely to be a software glitch than a hardware issue...but, wherever the trouble lays, I wish Apple would get it sorted out soon!
After four days of repeated freezes/lockups, I got so frustrated trying to troubleshoot the problem myself that I finally contacted an Apple-authorized repair service for help; my machine's now been in the shop for over three weeks, and the tech there has had no better luck in pinning down the case or finding a fix than what I'd had.
At the urging of another iMac user who's posted on this subject elsewhere in this forum, I've submitted feedback to Apple, suggesting that the company needs to recognize that this is a fairly widespread problem which is affecting older iMacs as well as the new, and urging the company to take it more seriously than what it seems to have been doing up until now.

The Update 1.1 was apparently for aluminum models only, so it wouldn't have been installed on my machine. And, while the technique you've described as working for you has worked for some people who've tried it, it hasn't solved the problem for others.
My guess is that a bad bit of code somewhere in OS 10.4.xx itself is at the root of the problem; maybe it just sat benignly, causing no problems, until some particuar driver or security or application update with incompatible code got installed and caused a conflict.

  • Since updating my ipd and iPhone to iso8 they freeze lock up and generally starting to annoy me

since. the last update to 8.1.1 both my iPad and iPhone keep freezing locking up and really are starting to push me away from Apple , I was looking at theiphone 6 but not sure if it is worth it now or not

    Hello there, Richtucker.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great recommendations for troubleshooting issues with an iOS device not responding:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on - Apple Support
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged. Learn more about charging iPhone and iPod touch, or iPad.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

I've cleared the CMOS and loaded optimized defaults
I've tried both IDE and AHCI
What happens is everything just freezes, I can't move the mouse and can't ctrl-alt-del.
    Anyone have any ideas?
Update:  I switched to BIOS 1.2 and so far everything seems OK, though I lost the option to change the command rate on the RAM.  I'll post back in a couple of days or if it happens to lock up again.

Since I've installed Mountain Lion, I am having lock up issues with multiple programs. MS Outlook has crashed and I've lost all my folders. HELP?

okay I've finally been able to get tor and all the other programs to work according to my plan the only thing that's still making problems is that iptables doesn't work as I want it to, when I start chromium without proxy settings privoxy doesn't seem to forward the information to polipo.. do I need to add another rule to iptables.rules in order for the program to know it has to reroute the information again or how can I get this to work? and is there any way to run rtorrent with proxy support?
anyway, problem 2 and 3 are still to be solved.
and does anybody know where i can get a good dansguardian blacklist that was not designed for 6 year old children and for which I don't need to subscribe? I'm still getting these partypoker popups -.-
//e: with iptables it's the same thing as described in the first post. https works, http doesnt. I get the output "Invalid header received from client." on http sites. still no idea why though.. (and the https-version of torcheck.xenubite says i'm tor unprotected while starting the browser with iptables)
