Z3 Sleep of Death - NOTHING is working
Hello all, I've done a bit of digging to try to solve my problem, and none of the suggestions have helped. My exact situation seems slightly different as well... My Z3 died in my pocket today. Would have had plenty of battery life, was not exposed to water. Black screen of death. Holding power does nothing.Holding power and up volume produces a series of 3 vibrations a few seconds apart, but that's all.No LED light whatsoever when on the charger.Yellow reset button in the SIM card slot produces a single burst of 3 vibrations and no more.Sony Bridge for Mac gets me to the step where you unpug the phone, hold down volume and plug it back into the USB. Nothing happens beyond here and the repair program will not proceed. I will see if leaving it on the charger overnight helps, but I doubt it will... I think I need to make a warranty return Any other ideas??

this is exacally what happened to mine. went to bed with it on charge, woke up to nothing!!i have tired all of the above with the same result. the only problem with mine is i cracked the rear glass months ago and i know sony will want to blame this issue on that when i send it back

White Screen of Death - NOTHING IS WORKING
Right, I've had my blackberry for a few months now, it was bought from someone else. Only recently, my phone has been turning itself off and giving me the "white screen of death" but I've always managed to get passed it by removing the battery then restarting it.
But today, it has turned itself off, reloaded to the main screen where it then freezes, the screen goes white and it says "app error 523 - reset". Ive clicked reset about a billion times and it keeps doing the same thing over and over again.
Ive been searching on this site all day for an answer but nothing has worked. I downloaded blackberry desktop/device software but it won't find my device. I tried that app wizard loader thing, but that didn't work either.
And yes, my phone is charged.
I am beyond frustrated now, it's seriously p*ssing me off and I need some help!! I can't fill out one of those information things including the carrier, question and whatever else because I don't know any of mine!

I have a Mac Mini 2011 with Lion factory installed configured with an original Apple Keyboard and a LG - HDMI monitor.
If the Mini goes to sleep either manually using the Apple Menu or based on Settings , it does not wake up !
Any subsequent attempt to wake the mac by moving the mouse results in either nothing happening / a system power down.
Restarting the Mac is then impossible. The Mini just makes JET engine level fan noise and does not boot.
Only after PMU/SMC resets and starting in Safe Mode ( Command +S when powering ) does the Mini come alive again. What a nightmare !
My only solution till now is to put the Sleep settings to "NEVER"
Surely there is a way around this .... sleep of death ???I have tried to eliminate all issues related to connected periphals first as Apple is really not going to find a solution if it relates to these. I changed the HDMI cable to abrand new expensive cable as a first step. Then I connected only one USB Time Machine Hard Disk 1TB. The PC is now waking out of manually induced sleep. I am not brave enough to remove the "Never Sleep " automatically settings as yet. Also downloaded a free utility named ONYX to do a system clean. They have a version for both Lion and Snow Leopard - just Google ONYX to see what it does. For now, at least the Mac Mini is working . Hope it lasts.

I am trying to setup my ipad 2 but I can't get back to the wi-fi connections section. How do I get there, nothing is working.
The Wi-Fi connections section is in Settings > Wi-Fi
If the home screen is not visible tap the Home button, the button on the front of your iPad that has the rounded square in it. Once you reach the Home screen swipe through the screen of apps until you find the Settings app. Tap Settings and go to Wi-Fi.
If your iPad is completely non responsive, try a restart.
Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep button simultaneously ignoring the red slider. Keep holding until the Aple logo appears and your iPad will restart.
The sleep button is on the side of your iPad on the side opposite from the Home button. -
"Sleep of death" question and some observations
I just recently upgraded to an S3 from a Fascinate, and I've been impressed so far. The only thing I really didn't like about my Fascinate was that it would suddenly freeze or crash one every week or two, and the only thing I could do was open the case, remove the battery, and then put the battery back in. Then I could reboot the phone and all was well. Well, after not using my S3 for an hour or so, I tried to wake it up and nothing happened. I couldn't turn it off (or on) either. Sleep of death. I had to open the case, remove and re-insert the battery to use the phone again. Is this a common problem? What could be causing it? Is there any other way to fix it?
Overall, I really like the S3. It's a significant upgrade from the Fascinate. Screen quality and size (larger but not too big), processor speed, and 4G LTE are great. I have a seven year old iPod that is still hanging in there, but I hope to use my S3 in my car (2012 Prius II, no Nav or Entunes) to listen to my music if and when my iPod dies. I can't get music to play on my car stereo when I plug my S3 into my car's USB port (I'm told its because the S3 doesn't support mass storage mode). But, after uploading some iTunes music to Google Play, I can play it with my S3 over Bluetooth audio. The sound quality is good, but not quite as good as a USB connection is. I'm experimenting with various audio settings in Google Play Music to see if I can enhance the sound quality. If anyone knows how to play audio with an S3 over a USB connection, I'd be interested in finding out.
I haven't used the camera very much yet (I have had the S3 only two days) but the few photos I have taken look good. Battery life seems to be improved over the Fascinate. Call quality also seems up a notch. I haven't yet tried some other features, and still others i have yet to discover! This phone comes with very good reviews, and I can see why.
I can also say that I was very pleased with the service I was given at the VZW store in Augusta, Maine, when I went to upgrade my phone. So far, other than the sleep of death issue, I'm a happy camper.Downeaster59 wrote:

Stop using the stock browser and use Chrome instead. See if the "sleep of death" goes away. -
Since updating my ipad to iOS 6 a few days ago i can't seem to get onto the internet, the app store or itunes, nor can i update to iOS7!! I sent an email to apple support and they said we don't handle these issues and redirected me back to the help forums which i have already seen and tried everything other people have suggested and nothing has worked (changing date, signing in/out of itunes etc). When i go to app store the screen is blank, in itunes it just keeps saying loading but never gets anywhere and same with the internet! When i go to settings to update to iOS 7.0.4 it says software update unavailable, try again later. Not sure what to do now. Some things to try first:

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

IPhone top sleep/wake button is not working & Apple Logo screen at startup
I have the original iphone. I have two problems, both just happened tonight at the same time. For seemingly no reason just my iphone external top sleep/wake button is not working. I tried powering the phone off and back on. I tried resetting my iphone, and restoring it. I made sure my Iphone software is up to date. None of these remedies have fixed the button. The button doesn't look broken, it pushes in and out, it just doesn't work anymore.
Second problem is, after I power my iphone off and then back on, the Apple logo screen will continue to flash on and off indefinitely. The only way to get my home screen to appear is to connect my iphone to my computer. Then it wants to sync. After syncing it then asks if I want to "power off" or "cancel". Huh, why does is it doing that? To turn my iphone off I am pressing my Home button down until it shuts off, since I can't power off with the top black button. Is that the reason my phone is having the second problem, because I am powering off with the Home button? Could it be my second problem is not a problem?
My iphone 1 year warranty is over. I can't call Apple Care, there is no apple store near me. I need a solution I can do at home myself. Please help. Even if you think the answer is obvious please suggest it to me. Before tonight nothing was wrong with my iPhone. It all started after I let my 6 and 7 year old nephews play with Google Maps on my phone for like 10 minutes - supervised. I'm afraid I have good and bad news. Apple sent me a new original iphone. So that takes care of me but does not take care of the issue for so many people like you. I do not know if you can purchase the Apple Care plan at this time. Look into that. It really is worth it. Apple products require Apple technicians in the rare case the breakdown. Apple did not offer me an explanation of how they'll fix my phone or even saying why they sent me a new one. I synced it with Itunes and all my personalizations and apps are loaded back on it. It's like my old phone only shinyer and probably going to last me longer than the old one.
I found out Apple Care covers the Iphone for 2 years past it's purchase date. So I would think that you could buy Apple Care even if you had it for like a year. Then it would at least cover you until the 2 year mark, which after that we're on our own(?). Please let me/us know if you were able to buy Apple Care protection and if they fixed your problem. I am impressed they got me a new phone so fast. I still love Apple. -

First try resetting your iPod. Nothing will be lost:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- Next restore the iPod from backup via iTunes on your computer.
- Lastly. restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod since there may be corruption that is now in the backup. -
Nothing will work except keyboard (sometimes)
This thing just popped up.
I was using Entourage, limewire, firefox, ichat, and webkit, when nothing would respond to my mouse anymore. I mean, I could move my mouse, but when i try to click, nothing would work. I could only control my macbook with my keyboard.
When I closed every program (command + option + esc), and put it to sleep, everything would be fine, until I would open a program.
I just restarted and everything's fine, but can someone help me find what the problem is?

Try resetting first.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Be aware, resetting to factory settings deletes all user data.
Then try updating to iOS 6 again. -
I've read a lot of comments/suggestions about camera issues that it turns black when opening the phone camera but nothing is worked for me. I'm so frustrate on my iPhone 5s im using it like for a month, I thought its more better than Samsung but I failed. Please help!!! I hope apple has something to do about this. Thanks.
I would have had the phone looked at long before a month of problems.
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't help Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support. You phone is under warranty and someone at an Apple store can help you. -
I'm stuck in snapchat and my sleep/awake song doesn't work
So I went out of character and downloaded ios7 software. i have a 4S. obviously imessage doesn't work - and it's not a vain problem. it's a problem problem. my phone is also for work and I can't be sure my clients are getting through to me, and I'm not trying to make my clients over-work.
Oh, and three weeks ago my sleep/awake button just stopped working. the sales guy said: new phone/circa $600. the prelim-tech guy said: sensitivity button. so i did the latter.
i've completely reset my settings now a few times, but this last time - i had hope that snapchat would work (not to brag but i have like 27 pending) - BUT I DIDN'T TURN ON MY SENSITIVITY BUTTON YET. so i'm just in snapchat telling me "Connect to iTunes to Use Push Notifications" over. and over. and over.

No, it simply is not a problem. iMessage works perfectly fine for myself and millions of others. There is a small percentage of users experiencing issues with iMessage, but that does not mean that it does not work.

Out of Warranty replacement is $199US for the 4S.
If you want a new iPhone, then the 5C starts at $549US or the 5S starts at $649US for full retail without a carrier subsidy.

Delete the App and reinstall.
Restore as new, then install the app from scratch not from the backup to see if it works properly.
Contact the App developer to find out why they app is not working.

Since latest software update, my sound settings are changing sometimes when I turn on and cannot hear anything. All controls are useless and cannot be activated. After changing several things, I have been able to make it work, but today nothing is working. Anyone else experience this and have any ideas?

Sleep and Hibernate does not work after BIOS update X1 Carbon 20A8
As subject title, did a recent Lenovo "System Update" on BIOS and other drivers, and since then sleep and hibernate no longer works, when i close the lid, it turns on by itself after 2 seconds.
When i select Sleep or Hibernate in Windows 8.1 with lid open, it just behaves like a Restart command.
Need this fixed! Any ideas?Try downgrading to your older BIOS and see if it works again.
