Z30i - does it make _any_ noise?

I am looking for a totallly (or as close aspossible) monitor with width 2560 and prferably 30" and 1600 high, so the z30i is an option. But I want a quiet monitor. So my question is:
Does the z30i make _any_ noise?
If it does, what kind of noise, and if known what cuases it?
BTW: I have sent this question to HP technical support from the web site and it was aknowledged 5 days ago, but haven't got any reply yet. Is this typical?
Thanks,
Yehouda Harpaz

Hello Yehouda.
Welcome to the HP Forums. I understand you are wondering if the HP Z30i monitor produces noise. I will try my best to provide information on this.
I have personally worked on this monitor in the past, and others I know have as well. This monitor does not making any more noise than your average monitor. The monitors can produce noise sometimes are those with things like built-in speakers, or fans (for example).
Now, as an accessory, you can purchase with this monitor an LCD Speaker Bar. This might make a little extra noise if not taken care of. More information about this can be found in this monitor's quick specification page: HP Z30i 30-inch IPS Display
I hope I have answered your question. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

It seems what you did also effected your typing skills: missing letters, words not capitalized, no punctuation.
Did you check your Sounds settings?

  • Stuck and wont turn on ive charged it and it sill wont show the battery symbol or even make a noise its like its just stoped working!

my ipod wont turn on its got blank black sreen it was on with 95% charge ,when I put on charge it does not make any noise of show any symbol ?

Try rebooting it by holding the Lock button and the Home button at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo shows up on the screen.
This usually works when your device is frozen

  • Powerbook chimes when turned on, makes some noise, then nothing

So I went to turn on my powerbook and it made the chime noise, I could hear it start to boot up, and then nothing. The screen is blank, and it does not make any noise. However, it is still on, because I have to hold the power button down to shut it off. I really need my computer for school, so any input is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Melissa

    I have the same problem.
I clicked on Firefox to get it started, moved the attached mouse across the screen to click on an icon, and the screen froze. Tried rebooting using standard options but what would happen was:
    the Mac would chime.
I could hear the drive start.
Lights to hubs turn on but not enough juice to turn the light on for the optical mouse.
The keyboard will shut the Mac down.
I have been a Mac user since May, 1984 (still have my 128k)and very seldom have had assistance with problems because I try every option approved.
If I slightly depress the PMU reset button, everything starts up just fine. Can restart. Can switch drives (two external FireWire drives) and full boot will occur.
If I shut down, then restart... back to the chime and nothing else works. t did go into target mode a couple of times - the only "live" action on the keyboard other than the shutdown by the power button.
Someone suggested the PRAM battery (as he called it, the "buffer" battery). After boot, if I don't depress the button all the way, the correct time shows. If I depress it past the "click" point, it will reset to December 1969.
Any help would be appreciated and might solve both issues in this thread.
    thanks,

I want to upgrade my 2007 Mac desktop to 10.5 Leopard. I am currently running on 10.4.11. When I put the leopard disk into the drive all it does is make a weird noise and then spits the disk right back out. It doesn't do this with any other discs, only this software. Is it still possible to update this computer?

    Yes. Try Amazon.
Before you do upgrade to Snow Leopard, make sure your Mac meets the requirements.
Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard - Technical Specifications
Make sure the disc you tried using doesn't have any fingerprints or smudges on it. The optical drive can't read the disk otherwise.
If your Mac won't read the disc, might be a good idea to rule out any problems with the startup disk BEFORE trying to upgrade the system.

  • HT4623 My iPad mini does not make noise when typing

My iPad mini does not make noise when typing

Settings>Sounds>Keyboard Clicks>On. If the setting is correct, you may have muted system sounds.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

  • IPhone 6 sometimes does not make noise for text messages

I have the switch turned up so it is not on silent, volume turned up all the way, and do not disturb is turned off. Sometimes when I receive text messages (both SMS and iMessage) my phone does not make the ringtone noise, but it always vibrates. This only happens SOMETIMES. I recently upgraded from iPhone 5 to 6 and I had this issue with my 5 as well. This has been beyond frustrating, and I thought upgrading to a 6 would fix this, but it has not. Please help!

double check your do not disturb settings (see if there is a moon icon displayed beside your battery icon) if so, go to settings>Do not disturb and turn it off.
That is only setting where you can make the phone not to ring when it is locked,
    it's under Settings>Do Not Disturb>"Silence"
    "Only While iphone is locked"

Time machine makes whirring noise 24 hours a day. Orange light often flashes. Does not appear to be overheating. Can you help?

First: Are you wearing/regularly checking your radiation badge?
Second: What does the little Time Machine icon (in the menubar) say when you click on it?  Alternatively, what does Time Machine Preferences (in System Preferences) tell you is going on?

  • Playing music from my new 4g ipod touch makes clicking noises in my stereo units speakers. Does not do it on my old Ipod

I have a new iPOD touch and when I play it through my stereo or car, the stereo makes apparently random clicking sounds in the music. It did the same with a unit I returned today for this problem. When I play the same song using my old ipod classic, using the same files, it does NOT make the clicking sound. Any ideas?

I'm having the same exact problem with our ipod touch 4g  - considering exchanging ....but you have done that and still have the same issue??.   Its not a consistant problem and can't recreate it on cue but its irritating when it starts happening cuz you start focusing on the clicking sound.  We've used a couple different USB cables to see if thats the problem and it still happens.
Very interested to hear if anyone as any answers as to why this is happening..... Thanks

  • Wired mighty mouse makes clunky noises

Hi, my two month old wired mighty mouse has started making loud clunky noises when I use it and when I press gently on it it seems loose, I can get it to make that noise just by pressing lightly on it. It works fine, it's just not quiet like it used to be and like my old was one for 3 years. It seems like a mechanical problem.
Does anyone know where I might read about this kind of problem and how to fix it and has anyone
    else had this happen too?
    Thank you,
    Martha

Easiest thing to do is contact AppleCare and get it replaced. They'll send you a replacement and then you return the bad one. No waiting or fuss. Usually arrives within a couple of days.

When I open my sleeping mac, it makes the noises that indicate mail is being sent.  I am not sending mail.  Is someone somehow using my mail?

go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and try to reset it there. when updating to ios 7 it does have activation lock so you have to know the apple id and password. contact apple and they make be able to assist you with apple id password.

Some of what you are writing is bogus.
    > Do Not Open a bunch of Applications and try to work with several applications and work with them all at once.
Exactly why not?  The Mac is supposed to be a professional machine - it has a robust multitasking system.  If you have enough memory, you should be able to open quite a lot of applications at once.
Of course, if you run out of memory, you're going to start swapping to disk every time you switch applications, which will be slow.  And of course, if you run multiple applications that are actually active at one time, you're going to run out of CPU power.
But you should be able to have quite a lot of applications open at one time without seeing any significant degradation in performance.
    > Remember when ever you download ANY APPLICATION (Software) always restart your computer after the download it will then activate the new software and make it work properly.
That's completely ridiculous.  Indeed, that's why I signed in to comment on this post.
Why should you *restart* your machine just because you downloaded an application?  (Me: software developer for over 30 years, writing commercial, cross-platform applications that run on Mac, Windows, Linux... so I'm reasonable knowledgeable in this area...)
A few applications install something that requires a restart (very few in 2013).  If your application needs this, it will tell you to restart.
You're not doing anyone any favors by spreading falsehoods.  Please refrain from making claims like this in the future unless you have solid evidence.

  • Apple should make a feature on itunes where you can use to make your ipod make a noise so you can find it.

The only way right now to locate your ipod touch is through mobile me and that still wouldn't be able to locate an ipod in your house! They should make it so you can make the device synched to your library, remotley make a noise so that you can find it! Lets convice Apple that they should include it in the next itunes update! Lets get this discussion noticed!!

I use https://me.com/find/ and it shows me where my ipod Touch or iPhone are on a google map. It can also send a messgae or sound. I have used it to find my iPod touch.
All discussions here are between users like you and me, Apple does not read these discussions.
