С самого начала у него проблемы с аккумулятором: при гибернации или завершении работы, аккумулятор разряжается на 50% за 1 сутки.Windows 8.1 Можно рассчитывать на бесплатую замену аккумулятора или другого источника проблемы в офиц. сервис центрах Lenovo? информация о гарантии:

Сегодня компьютер забрали из Сервисного центра.Были заменены материнская плата и аккумулятор. Т.к. хозяин компьютера не разбирается в них, то дома обнаружилась проблема с подключением к интернету.
("Акадо" требует настроек ip, dns и mac). Из-за замены материнской платы предположительно слетели все настройки. Как кто-нибудь из знакомых придет к нему и заново все настроит, то проблему с ремонтом он будет считаться решенной.Windows потребовал активации, что вроде подтверждает смену материнской платы.
Как хозяин проверит отсутствие саморазряда, отмечу проблему как решенную! Спасибо за помощь!

Hello everyone. I've bought a mac pro and I can´t install the lexmark Z510 series driver. On the website of Lexmark it's just avaible until the 10.4.x version of this printer. I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.1. I´ve been looking on topics and I saw that lexmark is working for new drivers for SL. It would be for Z510 series too? Does anyone know? Or if somebody knows a way to install the printer driver please tell me, I can't use my printer and I almost looking for a new one.

Z510 automatically shuts down at 99% battery, when running on battery

My Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 shuts down after 30-40 minutes when running on battery, without any notification. The battery level displays 99% battery.I've tried various troubleshooting steps, including gauge reset, charging for 10 hours when shut down, charging couple of times in BIOS mode. The energy manager says battery health is "normal". Battery report says :DESIGN CAPACITY43,200 mWhFULL CHARGE CAPACITY48,000 mWh My laptop is under warranty, but service center has refused to replace battery because report says it's healthy. Kindly provide some solution.

If the battery says its health is fine, it seems to me like its an issue with the motherboard. I'm not really sure how you'd go about checking that though especially since the service center won't let you send your laptop in. Might have to wait for someone else who knows more about it than me, sorry .

Tastatur unter Windows nicht erkannt (z510)

Hallo liebe Leute,
Ich hatte gestern ein Problem mit meiner Tastatur, sobald ich zum Anmeldebildschirm kam, ging sie nicht mehr.
Laut Geräte-Manager funktioniert sie einwandfrei.
Das erste was ich getan habe, war den Treiber über Gerätemanager zu deinstallieren und neu zu starten.
Nach dem Neustart konnte ich 2/3 meines Passworts normal eingeben, aber dann wieder nichts.
Anschließend hab ich noch eine Systemwiederherstellung ausprobiert, aber wieder nichts.
Interessanterweise funktioniert sie aber ganz normal im abgesicherten Modus.
Hab dann mein Notebook neu aufgesetzt und wieder alles eingerichtet. Die Tastatur hat wieder normal funktioniert und ich war "glücklich".
Nachdem ich heute wieder den Laptop eingeschalten habe, ging sie wieder nicht.
Wieder gleiches Prozedere (bis auf Systemwiederherstellung), hab mir auch den Treiber für Maus und Tastatur von der Supportseite heruntergeladen, aber keine Besserung.
Ich verwende einen Z510 unter Windows 8.1
Habt ihr vielleicht noch eine Idee? Möchte ihn nicht nochmals aufsetzen, nur dass ich morgen wieder das gleiche Problem habe

Bitte entschuldige die späte Rückantwort.
Wenn die Tastatur im abgesicherten Modus und nach einer Neuinstallation ganz normal funktioniert, scheint kein Defekt vorzuliegen.
Nach einer manuellen Windowsinstallation ist das Betriebssystem so eingestellt, dass Windowsupdates automatisch installiert werden. Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass von einem Tag auf den anderen Updates im Hintergund installiert worden sind. Vorinstallierte und auf das System angepasste Treiber können hierbei durch einen Microsofttreiber ersetzt werden, der eventuell nicht korrekt arbeitet.
Falls deine Frage noch aktuell sein sollte, könntest du versuchen, das Betriebssystem nochmal neu zu installieren. Bitte ziehe ein eventuell vorhandenes LAN-Kabel ab und deaktiviere auch die WLAN Verbindung. Stelle bitte vor der ersten Onlineverbindung das Windowsupdate so ein, dass nur eine Benachrichtigung über neue Updates erfolgt aber keine automatische Installation.
Teste dann das Notebook im treibertechnischen Auslieferungszustand einige Tage erneut, ohne Updates zu installieren. Sollte die Tastatur erneut ausfallen, wende dich bitte an den Support.

Ideapad z510 problems

I purchased Lenovo Ideapad z510, and regardless it's poor battery performance I enjoy it a lot it's amazing, how ever I am having those issues and would highly appreciate some tips or help :
Whenever I charge the battery it never reach to 100% and when I take it off the charger and use the battery it keeps saying 99% even with no charger on, and does not show warning messages about low battery like 10 % remaning and 7% remaning .. like it used to do in the past and just shuts down..
I tried the battery gauge reset with the Lenovo's Enery Manager app but no luck!
My other question is there speceifc program that can check the fan status? I am afraid it might not be working proberly like before.
And my last question can I buy only specific parts of the keyboard? my cat removed two buttons of my keyboard and it is too expensive to replace the whole keyboard with the backlit because it's working perfectly fine!

I've bought mine Z510 recently and I have the same problem. When I contacted the helpdesk they told me I had to reinstall some hardware things. When I did that the same problem occured. The laptop goes out without a warning, according to the batterypicture in the taskbar I've got plenty power. And then the laptop goes out.
So has anyone of you found the solution? Because I'd rather solve it myself then send it for repairs, then my laptop is gone for weeks.

i am an owner of lenovo z510... my prob is that in my laptop s battery icon which is on bottom right corner is showing 100% battery remaining about 2 hr ago bt i have used it continuously for 2 hours bt its still showing 100 % remaining what to do

As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with Battery problem in your Z510 laptop.
Try to update the energy management to the latest version and check for the issue,
Click here for the energy management windows 7.
Click here for the energy management windows 8.1.
Also try to perform the gauge reset: go to power manager, select battery option in advance mode, under the battery select battery maintenance and select perform reset under battery gauge.
Also try to uninstall the Microsoft ACPI application and check and also reinstall the application.

Z510 - Lenovo Energy Management - вопрос по лимитированию заряда батареи

Добрый день, если у кого IdeaPad , то скорее всего есть функция в программе Lenovo Energy Management, позволяющая задать режим хранения аккумулятора, по факту означающий, что батарейка от сети не будет заряжаться выше, чем 60% или 80% (зависит от модели). Так вот, у некоторых ноутов (которые я встречал), включение этого флажка сохраняется на низком уровне так, что после отключения питания и перезагрузке или включение в другие операционные системы, батарейка так и продолжает ограничивать заряд, не зависимо , есть ли Energy Manamenent, или это вообще Linux. (идеальный вариант для меня) Странно, несмотря на схожесть этих систем в IdeaPad'ах, ее поведение разное. Хотелось бы попросить владельцев Z510 проверить поведение этого функционала у себя. Проблема, собственно, вот в чем:Я включаю флажок, все хорошо и работает, как ожидается. Выключаю кабель питания (винду не выключаю), включаю, все продолжает работать и ограничивать заряд. Перезагружаюсь в другую операционку (не вынимая кабеля питания - это важный момент), или включаю/выключаю ноут, потом включаю и все хорошо, так же. Но стоит в другой операционке, или после выключения, выдернуть кабель питания, при следующем включении этот флажок сброшен и батарейка начинает сразу заряжаться. Т.е. сохранение идет до первого выдергивания кабеля не под виндой, потом надо снова грузится в винду и выставлять флажок. У всех так? Хотелось бы, чтобы она сбрасывалась тогда, когда ее вручную выключаешь, как в описанном на случай вверх (идеальный вариант). Это проблема, так как, я работаю в основном в Ubuntu и в основном в deskop режиме, а так как на нашем ноуте батарея несъемная, то хотелось бы продлить ей жизнь на как можно более длинный срок. Если же у всех одинаково все, есть ли возможность выйти на тех отдел Lenovo, с просьбой предоставить документацию портов ввода вывода (или чего там) для написания модуля ядра подобно tp_smapi для ideapad? Как думаете, реально ли получить информационную помощь от Lenovo? Спасибо за содествие.

Добрый день, проблема не решена, так как она наверняка волнует не слишком большое количество людей. Я работаю в Ubuntu, а точнее, провожу в этой системе все время, которое провожу за ноутбуком. Но для того , чтобы включить режим хранения, мне нужно перезагружаться в Windows (по этой причине она у меня и стоит) каждый раз, когда мне нужно выйти с ноутом куда-нибудь (зарядка отключается).Иначе этот флажок сбрасывается, и нужно его опять в винде проставлять вручную. Я хотел знать, насколько реально управлять этим параметром в других системах (режим хранения при заряде 60%). Пока что мне с этим никто не помог

Hi I have Lenovo Z510 everytime when I restart my Lenovo I goes to automatic repair tool n then windows didn't boot and then I restart it n go to recovery process n use initial recovery when the process completed and process Need to restart I restarted again and Thn it again goes to automatic recovery . As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with system booting to auto repair option in your Lenovo Z510 laptop.
Remove the hard drive and reseat the hard drive and check for the issue. If still the issue persists then reinstall the operating system and check for the issue. if you are able to access your data please take a data backup before reinstalling the operating system.

Lenovo Z510 hard drive clicking sound

I have Lenovo Z510 and my HDD is producing clicking sounds.When this happens everything becomes frozen until clicking is over.
I has become more frequent these days.
What can be the problem?
Does Lenovo waranty covers HDD failure?

From what you have described it sound like your hard drive is failing. As Cabbton pointed out now would be a good time to make a backup copy of any important files that you do not wish to lose. After the backup then contact Lenovo Support for the hard drive replacement. If your laptop is still under warranty then the hard drive will be replaced as part of the warranty.

Lenovo Z510 Windows 10 upgrade query

My Lenovo Z510 laptop came pre-installed with Windows 8.1 Single Language Home edition OEM version.I reserved my Windows 10 upgrade using the GWX(Get windows 10) app & now the upgrade files are downloading.My question is..1.how my windows will re reactiavted after upgrading it to Windows 10?? As i am an OEM windows 8.1 user, i don't know the key,the Key is embedded in the BIOS.So how windows 10 will be activated ? will it be activated automatically? 2.After upgradation if i want to perform recovery in future due to my HDD crash or some other reason, how the recovery can be performed?In that case after the recovery will it be windows 8.1 or windows 10? 3.After the upgradation, did anyone face any problem regarding drivers ?or any other problems? Anyone who has upgraded to windows 10 from windows 8.1 OEM please share your experience.Thanks in Advance :

1) Microsoft makes true its promise on that department. No issues there. You just upgrade and login via MS account. But if you wan't to be really safe (or you would be installing manually) you can recover your OEM key by using third party programs. You can google it your self but for reference I use a program called OEMkey (convenient huh?).
2) I'm not sure but Onekey recovery is a standalone feature of the laptop so it doesn't matter what OS you have. As long as the partition is not damaged you can, in theory, always recover your laptop. The downsize is that the hidden partition will only install back to windows 8 (not even 8.1). A solution to this would be to create a backup image of your current OS using the Onekey Recovery program (hope you didn't uninstalled it, but then you can always download the latest version). Downside is that it's gonna take up at least 30GB of space (if OS only without the other programs)

New Z510 - IE 11 and Silverlight issues

Okay, so I'm not sure this is the right place, let me know if this is not.
I have a new (less than 2 months) old Z510 - Windows 8.1, IE 11. When I first got the machine, I had no problems streaming Amazon Prime videos. However, about a week ago, I was unable to stream in IE. I can in chrome with no problems.
I followed the help on Amazon, and tried to install Silverlight, which now shows up as a program on the computer, but not in the 'add-on' window in IE 11 (even when looking at all add-ons). I have reset IE11, uninstalled and reinstalled Silverlight (same behavior, can see it as a program, but not as an add-on). What am I doing wrong? I have the standard install from Lenovo, am on McAfee (in case that matters), how do I make IE 11 realize that Silverlight is there?

If it detects 'Silverlight' as it does here you are good to go. I also don't see Silverlight in the addons list. But it's working here. Don't worry.

Ideapad Z510 Wi-Fi whitelist

I've owned a Z510 for a little over a year now. I was not happy with it until I reinstalled Windows and left all the bloatware out. As soon as the warranty expired, I installed a SSD, a HDD caddy in the DVD drive bay and 16GB of ram. The one other thing I wanted to change, but couldn't is the wireless card thanks to Lenovo's brilliant idea of implementing a whitelist in the BIOS. It's ridiculous that 8 year old laptops came equipped with wireless cards capable of connecting to the 5GHz band yet this laptop does not, and to add insult to injury Lenovo will not allow you to change it. I would have never bought this laptop had I known that ahead of time.
Is there any hope that the Wi-Fi whitelist will ever be removed? I ask this fully expecting the answer to be "no" as this laptop has not been available for sale for quite a while now and I doubt Lenovo will continue to support it.

You are right I'm afraid, I think it highly unlikely. Since Lenovo seem to stop further bios development once a model has been withdrawn, unless critically necessary, and since in common with a lot of laptops these days, across brands, the bios whitelist is 'hardwired' into the eeprom and would need a user to physically reprogram that with expensive hardware, I can see little likelihood of it ever happening.
Why they put such a cheap WLAN card in a laptop, on a fast pci express 2.0 slot, in a well speced laptop, is another question that is beyond me. A desktop wireless card from 7 years ago and a 5 year old cheap HP laptop had both much faster better wifi for me. Plus the Z510 has no gigabit Lan either! in 2015!!
Best solution is to get a Usb wifi dongle and forget the internal one if you need a proper connection. Another question for me is can that pci express slot be used for anything else? If you get a chance, I'd be interested to know.

IdeaPad Z510, changing the HDD, warranty and Windows 10

Hello, I own a Z510 and I'd like to replace the HDD with an hybrid HDD/SSD or a pure SSD, because its 1TB disk is a real bottleneck.But what happens to the OS? How can I reinstall it, if it's stored in a separate partition of the HDD? And what about WIndows 10? Will I be able to install it? And maybe reinstall it if I have to restore the system?

There's a couple of ways to reinstall 8.1.
One way is to use cloning software although cloning from a platter drive to an SSD sometimes doesn't work too well, so before you do it, I would make a recovery drive.
How to make a recovery drive Make sure you copy the recovery partition onto this drive.
Make a full backup of your system before you do any of this onto an external hard drive from within Recovery.
You can also make a clean install of Windows using instructions here . Make sure you download the EXACT version of Windows that you have installed on your machine or the imbedded key won't work.
Your license key is imbedded in the bios and and installing the correct version will automatically detect the key and activate it.
If I were you, I would install an SSD, the performance is much better than a hybrid drive and getting the cache to work right on the hybrid might be a little hard to do.
Do your research, there are a lot of threads on this forum that have to do with reinstalling an OS, some ways work better than others.
Last, I don't work for Lenovo, I'm a volunteer as well as all the other moderators.

Ideapad Z510 sent for WARRANTY 3 TIMES

My laptop is Lenovo Ideapad Z510. (From Malaysia)
After I used it for several months, the motherboard broke down.
There's no any "power sign" passed through the motherboard.
So, the service centre at Seremban replaced a motherboard for me.
After I got it back, same things happened again.
And again.
I replaced my motherboard "3 times"!!
Listen carefully, it's "3 TIMES".
And everytimes I get back my laptop, all the ports besides that come along with motherboard is RUSTY.
You guys replaced an old repaired motherboard??
And I need to replace motherboard again and again?
Are you guys kidding me??
Any solution or replace new laptop?! Can replaced a new laptop?!
I don't care care to pay some money again at least I don't want to experience this. I'm getting annoyed and angry!

Actually, that's not obvious at all.
First, SATA cable issues are not specific to Apple. You can find, for instance, plenty of complaints on Toshiba forums. (Off-hand, it does seem to me that we didn't use to have so many problems with the old, parallel, ATA cables, but I can't be sure.)
Second, you could, for instance, have a small random manufacturing defect in a component which touches the cable. When the component warms up, that defect might damage the cable. This would explain the short life of the cables in your machine w/o the necessity of postulating a systemic issue. Of course, this is pure speculation, but it demonstrates the defect in your logic.
Third, the fact is that we, the consumers, demand ever more powerful products, in ever smaller sizes and comparatively lower prices. Apple, which is no different from any other major corp, is reacting by, among other measures, cutting corners on quality (as well as finding cheaper labour elsewhere). This is the reality which all of us have helped to bring about.
I know full well that this is cold comfort to you. But I'm afraid there is nothing else. For most of us, life is hard, bitter, and unfair.
If I were you, I'd make sure to keep all the documentation about the SATA cable problems, and, if it happened again, I'd complain once more to Apple, this time escalating it as far up the corporate food chain as I could.

IdeaPad Z510 States power supply to weak

Purcahsed a IdeaPad Z510 a week ago direct from lenovo. After a fresh reboot everytime it's on A/C power and i go to the desktop I recieve a dialog message telling me the power supply is insufficient and needs to be upgraded. I can either close the window or click buy and it takes me to the lenovo website. I think lenovo should be sending me a new power supply or computer. I am trying to contact them directly too, but it seems I have to pay to talk to someone with a brand new computer????

Hi all, I had the same problem and I received a replacemnent power supply. No change, the error message is still there. Do you have win 8.1 or win8? I do not remember if I had the error even before upgrading to win 8.1 I removed the energy manager and installed another version (from http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS037680), not for Z510. All works ok and there is no error message. Probably they just need to update the energy manager for win 8.1 for the Z510
