Z520i Sony Ericsson Won't ISync

I've got a successful pairing. Using the remote control features fine, transferring, receiving files via bluetooth. Even using Bluephone Elite.
But I can't seem to sync my Address Book and my iCal using iSync. It can't find the device. I use Devices>Add Device but it finds nothing. My Z520i gets some kind of signal but nothing happens, and in the Add Device dialogue box, no device was found.
I have an old Palm and my ipodvideo on my iSync, so I know it works with other devices.
I tried deleting and renewing the pairing, to no avail.
Yet the model of my phone is in Apple's list of supported devices, and I checked that it will iSync contacts and iCal (which is why i bought it).
Please, can someone help?

Hello and thanks for the attention.
1. yes iSync, it appeared, tried to connect to my phone. There was a very quick progress bar (less than a second) then it showed on the phone: "Session complete" and the phone played a chime. Meanwhile, iSync says "No device found" in the panel.
2.iSync does not display my phone in the "Add device" panel.
3. Here is what appears in System Prefs>Bluetooth>Devices in the pairing information:
Device Name: Z520i
Device Address: 00-12-ee-c8-8a-eb
Device Type: Phone
Device Services: , Dial-up Networking, Serial Port, HF Voice Gateway, HS Voice Gateway, OBEX Object Push, OBEX File Transfer, OBEX SyncML Client, OBEX IrMC Sync Server, Mouse & Keyboard
Paired: Yes
Favorite: Yes
Connected: No
You see how it says "No" in connected? That's the current state since I'm not doing anything with it.
Nothing on the console. Can't find anything in Home>Library>Phones
Thanks, hope that helps!

  • Sony Ericsson w300i and iSync 2.2

I am the owner or a brand new Sony Ericsson w300i. This is a clamshell model of the popular 'walkman' brand cell phones.
Unfortunately, iSync does not recognize this phone. Does anyone have information on how to add support for this phone, or when an iSync update may support it?
    Thanks.

Replying to my own question. Seems you can get the w300i to work with iSync by following the directions here:
    http://mobile.feisar.com/z530isync22.html
Once you install that plugin, find the MetaClasses.plist file and modify it so that "W300" replaces all occurrences of "Z530". Then start iSync and everything should work (you may have to pair with the phone first).
I believe this works since the W300i is derived from the Z530.

  • Sony Ericsson W810i and iSync 2.4: "can not connect to this device"

I am using Mac OS 10.4.11 and iSync 2.4, which I believe are the most up to date versions. My Sony Ericsson W810i is shown as being compatible with iSync as shown on the iSync support page, but while I try to add the phone to it I get the message:
    "W810i
iSync can not connect to this device".
Does anybody have any ideas how to sort this problem? I've tried restarting both my computer and phone before trying again.

I finally figured out how to fix this problem. The mobile phone had to be initially added by the computer under Bluetooth to pair them before adding the device to iSync. Adding the computer as a device to the phone to pair them, as I had been doing, didn't allow it to work with iSync.

  • Sony Ericsson k800i and iSync wont be friends

hello, iam having a small issue, i recently downgraded to tiger from leopard and tiger is telling me that iSync isn't compatible with my phone K800i when on the web it says it is compatible, is there a way to upgrade isync? on my leopard it synced perfectly.

    To anyone who can help,
I'm not sure where else to post this, so i thought I'd try here. I just got a Sony Ericsson K790a (apparently same/similar to K800) and although bluetooth and iSync seem to work fine with this phone (using OSX 10.4.9) the removable storage features of the phone seem a little off. When I connect the phone via USB to a PC, it is immediately recognized as a drive (both in phone and in file transfer mode). However, with my intel iMac (home computer) it is another story.
When I connect the phone via USB, the phone does what it usually does on the screen, but nothing happens in phone mode or file transfer mode on the Mac (i.e. no drive shows up). When I restart the computer (set phone in file transfer on restart) and leave the phone connected, the drive shows up (and I imgine so would the memory card if I had one) and file/music transfers are fine so far as I can tell. HOWEVER, when I then try to eject the volume in Finder, the phone does not receive the "go ahead" and remains in a screen telling me I can't disconnect it. If I restart again, the phone has a brief period where it says it is safe to remove. This means that in order to transfer files to my phone with the Mac I'll have to reboot my computer twice (once to get the drive recognized, and once to eject it safely). Pretty frustrating/time-consuming.
Sony's people, although very friendly, have been incredibly unhelpful, telling me that it is definitely a Mac issue, they offer no support for Mac, nor articles in their knowledge base, or user forums for their products (so others might post a solution to what I imagine is not an isolated issue). I managed to find an article somewhere that said that they had an issue with drivers for the USB cable itself, however I tried installing both drivers he listed and neither changed anything.
Has anyone else had this issue or know anything about how to fix it? Is this normal or as good as it gets for these functions with the Mac? Anyone know of any third party apps (Adium, Crossover, etc) that might be interfering with these functions?
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

  • Using Sony Ericsson Z710i with iSync

Does anybody know of a free solution to configure iSync/ address book with a Sony Ericsson Z710i?
I found a lot of spam from a company that starts with Fei and ends with sar.
Please don't post a link to them.

I found an article on editing the plist for iSync.
    Article link:http://www.briantoth.com/razr_v3c/editmeta.php
    The gest:
    1. Locate iSync.app, usually in your Applications folder.
    2. Right-click or ctrl+click iSync.app and choose "Show Package Contents" from the contextual menu.
    3. Dig through the following folders: Contents > PlugIns > ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice > Contents > PlugIns > PhoneModelsSync.phoneplugin > Contents > Resources. In that folder will be a file called MetaClasses.plist and icons for all the supported phones.
    4. Open MetaClasses.plist in a text editor or preferably Apple's Property List Editor which comes with with Developer Tools package. You did make a backup first, right?
    5. Once done editing, just save the file. You may or may not need to re-add your phone to iSync afterwards.
Add this block this block of text at step 4:

  • Sony Ericsson no longer iSyncs after 10.4.7 update

Has any other SE 910a owner run into the same situation with 10.4.7 where it no longer iSyncs? I tried to find a new ISync Agent for the phone, but a search of the Apple site for iSync Agent turn up nothing-curious.
The Apple Store Tech support suspects it has something to do with the 10.4.7 upgrade and that I should report and post it in the Forum, so here I am...
    Help!!!
    Thank you

No, mine is syncing perfectly post 10.4.7 update. I had some difficulty with syncing it to .Mac but that seem to fix itself after BOTH my PowerMacG4 and my Powerbook G4 were both updated.
The only thing that I can suggest is that every now and then I find that the iSync agent on the P910 doesn't appear to be recognised. All I do then is to go to applications in the phone, choose the iSync agent, turn the iSync agent off, ie. tell it not to sync, then turn the iSync agent back on again (not the phone, just the agent). That has so far fixed the problem for me every single time.
    Hope that works for you.

  • Sony Ericsson w880i and iSync

Hi, when arrive an official plugin for SE w880i in iSync?
    Tanks

Well, it took Apple nine months to add support for the K800i. So you could be waiting a very long time. There are also no guarantees that Apple will support any specific phones. They are encouraging third-parties to create plugins.
In the meantime you can get a Phone Plugin to sync the W880i now from here:

  • Sony Ericsson  Sync Issues

    Hi,
I'm having problems when I synchronise my Sony Ericsson phones with iSync. On 1st sync the address book and calendar sync ok. However when I come to sync again, any entries in my phone that have a contact picture, get deleted on the phone, but remain in the Apple Address Book etc. How can I stop iSync from deleting these entries? At the moment I am not letting iSync sync my addresss book to my phone, to prevent it from deleting vital contacts
    Many thanks

  • New isync 2.2 won't synce with sony ericsson S700i on 10.4.6

Like everyone else I was happily running iSync with 10.4.5 worked perfect now after updating to 10.4.6 I get the same as with everyone else. I did all the blah blah Apple 2.2 Sync details to the letter from their site. Sync gets most of the way and the phone spews back the " can't do this cos of error in phone???".....we are all feeling the pain I think. So tell me Apple? Did you try it on a Sony Ericsson before give it to us???....Man talk about a pain.
You should have left it alone? So do I get to send you a bill for my lost time? I charge $200 per hour as a design consultant and you and your great update has cost me an $200 in lost time....would have rather spent it on itunes at least that way I get something for my money instead of a frustrating experience. For God's sake test before you stuff everyones frustration!

The S700i uses the same phone firmware software as the K700 and K750. We are discussing this problem over here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=429497&tstart=0
I have a S700i as well and right now, I decided to sync it with my Powerbook running OS X 10.4.5 until a solution is posted.
10.4.6 feels a bit rushed to be honest See you in the other thread!

  • ISync 3.0, Mac OS 10.5.2, Sony Ericsson w850i device not supported

I have a MacBook Santa Rosa that came with Leopard. I want to use iSync 3.0 to synchronize my address book with my Sony Ericsson (SE) W850i. My phone is on the Leopard feature bragging list: http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/isync/
Yet, when I pair my phone to the MacBook via Bluetooth and try to add the device in iSync, it finds the phone and then I am told that "This device is not supported by iSync."
So today I updated to 10.5.2. No change. The Feisar plug-in won't even download. It reminds me that my phone is supported in Leopard. So what gives?
I have tried unpairing and re-pairing, deleting the connection from my phone, restarting my MacBook, turning Bluetooth on and off on both devices, and resetting the iSync History.

    Copied from another thread in which I replied, perhaps it may offer some insight;
After setting up WinXP Pro under Parallels and installing/running Motorola's software, I was able to finally add contacts to the phone. But this wasn't easy. I first exported vCards from Apple's Address Book and imported the same into Outlook's Addresses. Motorola's software has a pretty straightforward interface, but isn't perfect. In order to "Save Changes", it was necessary to unplug and re-plug the phone to complete the process. During all this, the Motorola software unexpectedly quit a few times.
But here's the kicker; after all this work, I thought to give iSync one more try... and it worked!!! I cannot explain how or why it suddenly recognized the phone, but imagine it has something to do with the fact the Motorola's software update is the key.

  • ISync - Sony Ericsson K810i

My brand new iMac refuses to iSync my new Sony-Ericsson K810i and I can´t find it in the list of SE-phones that should. Am I doing something wrong or should it work NOW or LATER???

For K810i support you just need an iSync Phone Plugin from here.

  • New sony Ericsson V600i isync compatability

    Please HELP!
I needed a phone to sync with my contacts. I was first sold a Nokia 9300 Communicator, then I bought a motorola RAZR V3 ( neither worked with isync, as the sales agents had promised) Then I was told this Sony Ericsson V600i would definitly work with my Mac!
    They still dont pair up..
    Please advize...
    Thank you
    Andrew

Aha! Here is the answer: it seems that one cannot run the Bluetooth File Exchange app at the same time as iSync, in order for the sync to work properly. I quit the Bluetooth File Exchange and am now happy as Larry.
    I hope this helps others.

  • Sony Ericsson K800i isync compatibility

does anyone know when apple are planning to support the k800i...
since SE sell it as being mac compatible?
    thanks
    g4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Nobody outside of Apple knows when or if they will update iSync. Currently the are phones over 8 months old still waiting to be officially supported by Apple.
However, you can sync your K800 now using an iSync 2.3 Phone Plugin available from here:
    http://mobile.feisar.com/phoneplugins23.html
You must be using Bluetooth, no Sony Ericsson phones can be synced by USB.
If you don't have Bluetooth in your Mac, you should purchase a D-Link DBT-120 USB Bluetooth Adapter - these are the only ones supported by Apple.

  • Sony Ericsson K800i iSync

I cannot add the Sony ericsson K800i to my iSync - is this because an upgrade needs to be supplied by apple?
    G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

My plugin does synchronise all-day events properly.
The problem you have is caused by the Time Zone and Daylight Savings setting in your phone being set incorrectly.
Try putting these settings right and sync again. You'll find that the all-day events sync perfectly.
See here for the same query and solution.

  • Does iSync Support the Sony-Ericsson Z750 ?

Does anyone know the status of iSynch support for the new AT&T Z750? It is not listed as supported in the latest list.
How do I get Apple to answer this Q ?

The Sony Ericsson Z750 already works fine with iSync, and has done since its release in November 2007 via an iSync Plugin from here.
It's looking increasingly unlikely that Apple will add support for this phone in the future - they're currently anything from 6 months to 4 years behind in adding support for 'new' phones, and are encouraging third-parties to fill the gap.
