Z580 Ups and Downs of Windows 8

So over Christmas I thought it would be a good enough time to upgrade, and since then this is how its gone.
Pros:
Mostly the same speed and apart from metro little change in how its performed
Boots much faster
Nothings to different from Win7 after getting used to it (so probably loads more pro's I haven't even noticed)
Cons: Where it gets annoying!
Cannot change Brightness, I don't mean the hotkeys I mean I've tried from the control panel, downloading extra software and trying as many different drivers as I can, but no fix. I then called Lenovo and they told me it's Microsofts fault and that because I upgraded I wasn't there problem. (Also it seems a problem with more than just Lenovo)
The fan control touch button is strange. It now only has two settings, normal and de-dusting but there is no pop up menu if I tap it it just de-dusts straight away. This is only a shame because the thermal setting was great for games!
I admit I don't use it much but the Bluetooth also didn't seem to be working and I'm pretty sure its on its latest driver but I'm not 100% on that.
Another con right now is the customer support (although I did just get of the phone with them). After receiving emails about upgrading I thought it would be supported by Lenovo to stay with the latest software, but what I've felt is that it's a great way for them to not need to offer any support, (at least over the phone) and not even try to solve the problem.
If anyone has any other problems with their Z580 feel free to post and I'll see if my systems doing any better, or any general comments (and hopefully a brightness fix!)
Also if anyone would post or message me the full spec of a z580 which runs Win8 by default because I'm curious what they changed from my Win7 version

P.s. Dear Lenovo why would give a guide for a clean install only for when I go and try to activate the clean copy of Windows 8 to be told I cannot do a clean install, fortunately Microsoft were able to apply a quick fix to activate my copy

In the Lenovo support you should be able to find the z580 win8 drivers and update all of them, that got my sound control buttons working, download all the drivers and install them as they will be the most uptodate.
Also for the other post, I have, and downloaded a few 3rd party and reinstalled my intel drivers, also when I called Lenovo they told me it wasn't there problem so I'm just hoping they decide it is and release a fix, or Microsoft does.

Internet Ups and Downs

I have a Mikrotik router model RB751U receiving directly from ISP- feeds 3 Cisco Switches of 24 port each then to Patch panels and to users. I am having internet ups and downs in this way: When i bypass my LAN and log into the router to ping 8.8.8.8 i get
clean pings showing there is internet in my router yet myself connected directly to the router all any user on LAN can't browse. Usually the drops happen different times but with an a.v of 5 every day taking less than 2 minutes and the internet comes up again.
What are the possible causes on this problem???

this forum is related to Network questions belonging with Windows Server problems or from clients to Windows Servers.
In your case it seems that the router/switches are not correct configured.
To check for Windows please post an unedited ipconfig /all from the Windows Server in the LAN, which OS version?
Additional describe your network setup with a small picture as shown here:

How to understand the ups and downs in the signal

Hello,
I have a speed signal and I want to find its ups and downs. How could I find the indexes of the signal where it behave like increasing or decreasing?
For example, on this picture. There is a pink signal. Its my speed and I want to find the indexes of the signal where I emphasize the red circle. There has been a drop in about 1 km/h. I dont want to get the smaller values significant.

Ok. I uploaded an example of my speed signal. There has been 3 point where I emphasized with the red circle. I pointed these places because there have been drop in 10km/h changes. The others smaller than 10. I want to find the start index and the final index of these 3 places.

E63 ringtones volume ups and downs during ringing!

I got a nokia E63 red, for 2 weeks , but now i changed the ring tone to a music and when someone calls it plays the music , but is inconstant the volume of the music goes up and down.. this doest happen when i set a ringtone
to a video , it plays ok.
What can i do to fix it? upgrade firmware ..? thanks

Well, I'm stumped (for now!).
If you've turned off the Shuffle feature, then the Skip when shuffling cannot be a problem, so we've successfully eliminated that as the issue. (For your information, this feature is set for each song; highlight a song and select right-click/Get Info/Options>Skip when shuffling.)
Let's start from scratch.
Close iTunes, and then re-start it.
Select (but do not start) one of your Playlists. It should look like this, The Now Playing area should be blank, apart from the Apple logo.:
I'm looking at my Playlist, named Radio Ultima. The Now Playing area is empty. Note that the first song in my Playlist is Masar.
Click on the Play icon. The first song in your Playlist should start playing.
You should now have a screen similar to this. Sure enough, the song Masar is now playing in my iTunes. Note that neither the Shuffle nor the Repeat icons are blue, so they're switched off. Don't touch them.
Click on the List icon (ringed in red in my screenshot) and you should see a list similar to mine:
The first song in that drop-down list is second in the main window. It will play next. Do not select the Clear button, it will empty the "Play Next" list, which we don't want to do.
When Masar finishes playing, the Now Playing window changes, to look like this:
The Next Up song from the drop-down menu is now playing. In my screenshot, you'll notice that the song Masar has disappeared. This is because this particular Playlist removes songs after they have been played. In your view, the first song should still be visible.
If this doesn't happen, at what point do you see anything different to my screenshots?
As I'm writing this, I have had another idea, but let's look at the results of this experiment first.

Bawsaq is the online stock market market which is based on what players are doing globally.
LCN Is the offline market which is based on in game events.
Two different markets, one game. You can trade on either market at any time.
Unless someone knows any different, to trade on either market you have to go on the internet (on GTAV) via phone or computer and go to the Money section, then choose a market to trade in from there.
Please feel free to use this thread for your share holding stories or any possible tips or projections of the way the Bawsaq might go.
You can also use this thread for LCN Stock Market too but obviously that one may need spoiler tags as that stock market is more scripted I believe.
As for what might be hot property to buy in Bawsaq, you may have already missed the boat on this one but still chances are it will continue to rise for time being, but I'm thinking that buying stocks in Ammu-nation will pay off big time as the more people who buy the game the more sales of guns in Los Santos will continue to rise.
Not that I'm trying to artificially change the market for my own bidding (I have yet to invest in Bawsaq) but I reckon that's an obvious riser.
As for any fallers, judgeing by the sharp decline in Pißwasser it's probably best to sell any stocks you have asap unless you know something I don't and know a way of getting that stock back up again.

Then there are VNC clients for Mac/PC that also allow you to actually control the other machine, if they aren't in the same room and you just need to check something quick that can be handy, it's kind of slow though for regular use.
The main benefit of partitioning is being able to have different versions of bootable OS on them. You can try out Leopard on a new partition, while keeping your Tiger partition intact, you can have a XP/Vista partition for parallels or BootCamp, etc... other than that drives are pretty much fast enough, having smaller partitions probably won't realize any significant speed ups over searching the whole large drive.

Cant use touchscreen in windows 8 to draw it scrolls up and down.

In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

If you upgraded from 3.6 to 5 (you didn't indicate buying 4.4) then you will need the serial number from 3.6 in order to be able to use 5. If you did not keep a record of it there is a chance it might be available thru your Adobe account online, but if not, there is likely not much you can do except to return the upgrade and purchase a full version. Try contacting support using chat and explain your situation to see if they can help.

If you did purchase 4.4 then that should be sufficient to use to activate 5.
I can never be sure what goes on with Lightroom, and the Adobe site (even when it works properly) makes finding information about products difficult these days so I am at a loss to confirm anything I say.

You can supplement your Malwarebytes Anti-Malware scan with some other tools Firefox users have found effective. See: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]].
But it also makes sense to check a couple of things manually.
(1) Extensions installed in Firefox
Open the Add-ons page using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then take a careful look and disable everything you either don't recognize or don't use regularly. If Firefox prompts you to restart to make the change effective, you can do that as the last step after completing your review of the list.
(2) Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program
Click the "Installed on" column heading to bring the most recent infections, I mean, additions, to the top. This is useful in revealing bundles that may have snuck unwanted software onto your PC. Remove everything you don't remember choosing intentionally.

Safari pop ups and new windows

Everytime I'm using safari a new window with a survey or competition will open. There are constant advertisements and every time I click on a link it opens a new window or 5 . I have already blocked pop ups and it's still happening. Hope someone can help as it's driving me crazy

Trackpad is presenting a bug to open and close windows, mission control, and to move/roll the application (App) up and down.

Totally out of the blue, my trackpad is presenting a "bug". Every time that I try to open and close my mission control, or in the moments that I move / roll up and downs the Applications Screen, my Mac freezes for less than a second.
It never suffered any damage (NEVER!)! I am feeling very frustrated because I have no idea about what could cause such problem.
My MacBook Air is running OS X 10.9.5.

Well, it all really depends on the custom program and how it was written. Does it have an ActiveX interface? If it does, than that's the easiest way to go. If you put an automation refnum on the fron panel, you can right click and it and choose Select ActiveX Class>Browse. The browser will list all of the ActiveX type libraries that are registered on your system. If you can find one that refers to your custom program, then you should be able to use it's methods and properties to control. If it does not have an ActiveX interface, then things get much more difficult.

My screen shakes up and down when I am typing or when I click on a new page. If I hold the control button, then the screen doesn't shake. The screen keeps going to maximum size automatically also and the toolbar goes away.

If I understand correctly, the phone seems to think the phones volume up is constantly being pressedbut the button still clicks when you press it. This should be easy to isolate to hardware or software, so I would start by quitting all the apps that are running on the phone:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that reset the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
