Z61t backlight out -- How easy is replacement?
I have a Z61t ThinkPad (type 9442-UN6) running Windows XP. Seems my backlight is out, as when I turned on the laptop this morning it powered on (lights, fans, everything) but displayed nothing on the monitor. Looking closely I can sometimes see a very faint outline of images; also, I'm able to view the screen in full brightness when I toggle Fn+F7, but only for a few seconds. Connecting to an external monitor via VGA works fine. So I need to replace the display, correct?
The WXGA screen here seems to be what I want -- Anyone know if this a reputable supplier, or should I go through Lenovo?
Also, I've looked at the manual here ...but am not sure I'd be able to follow it confidently.
So I guess my questions are: 1) Should I purchase that display from lcdscreen.com, and 2) Once I get it, am I really going to be able to install it myself or should I find someone to do it for me? And, uh... 3) Where do I find someone to do it for me.

I'd be very surprised if the LCD that you posted the link to is the real deal. Ask the seller for the FRU number, and don't settle with "it's compatible with blah blah blah" answer.
Having swapped both LCDs and backlights I'd say that swapping an entire screen is a walk in the park if you are patient and able to follow instructions in the HMM. CCFL swap is a nightmare for most people and results are less than satisfactory on most occasions.
Do bear in mind that you can use LCDs from T61 and R61 as well, as long as the size (14" WXGA or WXGA+) is the same.

I no longer have access to system folders that allow me to remove old or incorrect PAGES templates. Need to find out how to do that. The only way I can do it now is to blank the template and replace the unwanted template with a blank. It was previously possible to go to MY TEMPLATES and remove the unwanted templates. I don't if this issue is before or since installation of 10.8 (a nightmare in my case, which led to significant failure issues). And because I haven't tried to remove templates since finally managing to install 10.8 (now at 10.8.4), I don't know if this is typical of the newer OS or a problem. I've been a Mac user for more than 25 years, but I think I'm nearing the end of the road. By the way, I've never needed to do this before because the manuals always offered an answer... they don't seem to do that anymore. In any case, I don't know how this works... I'd prefer an email reply if that's possible. But that would probably be too easy, and I don't know how to get a reply.
Thanks, I appreciate the help. I think this is one of the problems Apple is creating by changing the OS so often. I had fomer colleagues at [a major aerospace contractor] who told me that so many original files were ultimately lost because of the deadly change in the "Save As" operation that they are now afraid of every OS update. Apple has badly damaged their support base with that very prominent company (they won't update now until they've fully examined and understand changes in the pre-conditioned nature of OS computer functions), and they are a whole lot less enthaled with Mac-related equipment/software. Can't blame them, I too used orginal files that way (as easy-to-use templates), and lost some important files before I realized what was happening (to late to revert). Companies should not have to retrain employees each time an OS gets an update, it's can be very expensive several different ways. They learned a painful lesson with that one. And because I'm now retired and don't use multiple devices, I need iCloud like I need a hole in the head... but I'm told there's no way to keep Apple out of my computer. Fortunately, because of major problems when initially installing Mountain Lion, one hold-over of the hardware/software damage I experienced was that iCloud can no longer access my computer even though everything else is working fine again. That was the only "good luck" I had as a result of that expensive nightmare.

I had to replace the hard drive in my old MacBook. I replaced it. Installed OSX10.6. Then using the system software I reinstalled data from my Time Machine backup. On completion it asked for my password. It is not accepted. I am locked out how I overcome this?
I was already using 10.7. But only had the disc for 10.6.Sorry I am new to this. Am I in the right area? I am using my iPhone to make contact. I am worried.

I am new to Lightroom and have also just changed from Apple to PC. I cannot figure out how to download photos from the Photoshop library to a file that will be sent to MPIX for processing. Also, does Lightroom have an easy access to a photo processing capability such as MPIX?
Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps. -
Lost the "recent file" folder in the dock next to the trash bin and cannot figure out how to replace it. Any thoughts?
First thing I would do is look in the trash and if it isn't there look in the System Preferences and I am sure it will be in there.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Select any photos you want to share with the Apple TV using the iTunes advanced menu (using iPhoto is the better option but a folder will work). Once all the photos you want are shared, go to settings > screensaver on the Apple TV and choose which of those shared photos you want to use with your screensaver. -
I want to change my apple id primary e-mail from a .msn address to a .gmail address. The problem is that currently my .gmail address is my recovery address; I cannot figure out how to remove and replace my gmail recovery address with a new e-mail address. I want to do this because I no longer use my .msn address.
You should be able to change your rescue address by going to My Apple ID, signing in to manage your ID, then selecting the the Password and Security section, and answering the two security questions. If your iPhone 4 was running iOS 5, you can't install iOS 5 on an iPhone 3G which means you can't restore the 3G from the backup of the iPhone 4 running iOS 5.

How easy is CAD Integration out-of box

I am new to cad integration and we have downloaded Integrators from Service-sap for nx.
1) How easy will it be, the integration to NX system to SAP(out of Box-CD)?
2) Running the Integartion CD..will this automaticly do all the necessary configuration between NX and SAP?
3) How much config Do in GENERAL we have to do? I am only a DMS Business Analyst.

Its not just executing the file. There are many other things which have to be done for the NX integrati tork.
You have to import the Table entries and BADIs provided with the installation.
Also you may have to use the templates, configure for title block integration to work.
Plan content server architecture etc...
Most important is you may have to migrate data. Apply many pathces for which you have to contact DSC.

If you're on a Mac, open System Preferences, and open iCloud option.
Or if you're on an iOS device, open Settings - iCloud - Storage
You can see the Total Storage and the Available Storage.
