Z61t error:1802 Unauthorized network card...

 Z61T productID:9446W26
One month back I started getting above message. System board was changed to cure.
Today again, I got same error message, AT post above message comes, and thats it.
Burned all different kinds of cd's to try and boot and flash the bios, it does not go past POST.
for most recent scenario,I started getting above message after I bios upgrade to 2.25
(1) Is there a way to restore the old bios? atleast computer was working though without the wifi.
(2) Is there a way to boot to DOS, windows whatever to cure this?

Welcome to the forum, jwoold!
No, the hack doesn't work on T43 and later models. You need an Intel card with a FRU number, for a list of applicable cards check this page under # 6:
 http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-64222.html
Hope this helps.

  • Error 1802 Unauthorized Network card is plugged in. Power off and remove

  • 1802 unauthorized network card - but FRU is listed in the Hardware Maintenance Manual

I have an x130e (0622-23U) and wanted to update my wireless card. I looked up the compatible cards in the Hardware Maintenance Manual. It listed several, including FRU 60Y3241, Intel Centrino Wireness-N 1000. I bought a card matching this description on Ebay. It arrived and is labeled as advertised. It shows Model: 112BNHMW.
When I installed it and rebooted, I get the BIOS error 1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in.
Did I buy a brick from from Ebay? (Wouldn't be the first time.) Or is there something else that I should be looking for when I shop for a compatible wireless card?
    Thanks,
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Good evening.
One detail that *may* explain why you're getting the 1802 error with a card that is listed in the HMM and presumably has a legit FRU label:
On page 85 of your HMM ( http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/x130e_hmm_en_0a96359_03.pdf ), item 15 is the WLAN adapter. The first grouping of MTMs includes your 0622-23U (denoted as 0622-23x). For that group, the listed FRU P/Ns are: 60Y3247 and 60Y3249. The remaining 4 groupings of MTMs do not specifically include yours. The 60Y3241 FRU is specified for 2338, 2339 and 2340 machines.
    Just a hypothesis.
    Regards.
Edit to add: Digging a little deeper, specifically, looking at the readme file for the BIOS update in the driver listings, it appears that there are different BIOS versions for different MTM families (23xx vs 06xx, generally) - "8Q" and "8R" prefixed. So it's not impossible that the BIOS whitelists also differ. Just an observation.

  • T440s 1802 Unauthorized network card plug in...

    Hi,
I bought a refurbished T440s with a rtl8192 wifi card. It doesn't work for my linux OS so I tried to replace it with Intel 7260.
I look at the FRU whitelist
    http://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/t440s_fru_list_20130724.pdf
    And bought 04w3806 Intel 7260ac
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/261423899805?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
But I still got "1802 unauthorized network card plugin" error at boot up.
What can I do??? Please help me.

    Hello and welcome,
It looks like that should work.  Are you running the latest BIOS?   It's possible (maybe) that the card was added to the whitelist in a BIOS update.
Otherwise you will probably need to contact the card seller about this.

  • Thinkpad T510: 1802: Unauthorized Network Card

I did some updates to my laptop, and am now getting 1802 Unauthorized Network Card. The wireless card has been in this machine and working, before the BIOS and wireless card updates. The internal card is a Model 622ANHMW
Intel Centrino-Advanced N-6200. The machine will not boot unless this card is removed. I did not purchase this latpop new, but am pretty sure that this is the original card...and like I said was working fine prior to updates. Any ideas to correct this issue?
    Thanks...

I wonder if the previous owner was running a modified BIOS to get around the wifi white list? A BIOS update pulled in a Lenovo-stock BIOS with the white list reinstated.  Maybe.

  • T440p: 1802 Unauthorized network card, no can't boot BIOS update

Yesterday I received my Lenovo Thinkpad T440p.
I wanted to install Linux immediately, but apparently 14.04 is not able to boot with the 2.22.
The solution suggested in various forums was to downgrade Bios to version 1.14, which I did using the Windows
Installer provided on the Lenovo Support page.
After rebooting I get the infamous 1802 error: Unauthorized network card plugged in, presumably because of the whitelist not being up to date.
I was told by the support hotline to update my BIOS to another version using the bootable CD images.
I burnt various versions of them, but none of them would boot.
The error appears right after the Thinkpad Splash screen. I can't get into Bios. The pressing of any buttons (Esc F1, F11, F12, Enter etc.) doesn't have any effect either.
How can I install another BIOS version? Is there any additional step I have to take, in order to update BIOS by a bootable CD?
    Any help is highly appreciated!

are you sure IDs 8087:0716 are correct? Those IDs belong Intel USB Flash Loader, which might appear after unsuccessful reflash attempt of em7345 your laptop has. Did you perform something like this action?

    That's your problem right there.
Lenovo-issued WLAN and WWAN cards have custom firmware that is recognized by BIOS which will "bark" at any other card, even if the basic card - AC7260 in your case - is the same.
Get a genuine Lenovo card or flash a modded BIOS.

  • X40 and 1802 error: Unauthorized network card is plugged in

    Hi,
I have an X40 with his original wifi card. After some bios upgrade, this error starting appearing:
1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in - Power off and remove the miniPCI network card.
How can I solve this issue? Maybe downgrading the BIOS?
    Many thanks

    This is ridiculous!
My X40 is original and I am getting this error message since today!! Unauthorized mini pci? Unauthorized by whom?!  Does this mean that they took this card of the authorized list? I think that this is an issue that IBM/Lenovo should fix and not have us go through some dangerous BIOS process that might screw up the computer.
Looking at the thread this has been going on for a while...without any solutions coming from Lenovo.  This is, for me, a BIG dent in my trust in Lenovo support.....will support continue to decrease since Lenovo took over?

  • Unauthorized network card is plugged in - Intel 7260 Wireless-AC PCI card

I tried to replace the wireless card (Intel(R) Centrino(R) Ultimate-N 6300 AGN) in my ThinkPad W530 with Intel Wireless 7260-AC card.
I got the following error message during start up:
Unauthorized network card is plugged in 8086/08B1/8086/4070
The intel wireless 7260-AC should be used by new thinkpad W model such as W540.
Is there anyone know how I can resolve this problem?

  • T410 - Error 1802

    Hello.
I have a brand new out of the box T410 laptop.  After installing Windows XP, I rebooted my laptop and an error message came up.  It will not allow me to boot up.
The error message I am getting is:
ERROR 1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in - Power off and remove the miniPCI network card.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

Hi there, welcome to the forum!
I may not have a complete answer for you, but I suspect what is going wrong. The previous owner has installed a modified bios to remove the Thinkpad whitelist and be able to install a non-Lenovo Wifi card. It seems that somehow, this is detected by the minidock? Or, far more possible, the modified Bios is not well patched and the modder did not take into account the possibility of the use of a Mini Dock...
Find out the type of wifi card installed, check if it has printed a Lenovo FRU. If not, replacing the wifi card with the correct one could solve your problem.
The Hardware Maintenance manual for you machine can give you details about the correct wifi card that came installed to your machine (pages 141, 142, 143).
I would suggest flashing the latest official Lenovo Bios for your machine, but if i'm right you would need to replace the wifi card anyway before reflashing.

  • Thinkpad X130e AMD e300 approved minipci network card and UEFI preventing Fedoraliveusb from booting

I am just wondering where can I find the list for approved minipci wireless network card or disable the UEFI lock for it
I am trying to install Killer NIC N1103 on it
    ""ERROR
1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in Power off and remove the miniPCI network card.""
One more thing is there anyway to disable the UEFI lock so I can boot from my Fedora live usb?

    Hello,
As far as I know, Lenovo offers no way to disable the whitelisting for MiniPCIe cards in the BIOS/UEFI firmware.
You may be able to find firmware that does this from a third-party, but I would imagine that installing it voids your warranty.  At least until Lenovo-provided firmware is reinstalled.

Don't inject the Windows 7 version of the driver into your WinPE image. Depending on what version of ADK you are using determines what version of the driver you will inject into WinPE.  If you are using MDT 2013 with ADK 8.1 you are using WinPE 5.0/5.1
which is basically Windows 8.1. Make a selection profile explicitly for your WinPE drivers to inject. Only include the drivers you want in the WinPE image. And match the architecture of the network and storage drivers (Windows 8.1 versions).

  • New network card caused: Error Codes: OAMP2OPY:GIQKCQ7V

after installing a network card in my OBIEE 11g server
    I get this error:
    Error
    View Display Error
Error generating view. Error getting cursor in GenerateHead
    Error Details
    Error Codes: OAMP2OPY:GIQKCQ7V
Too many running queries. Server is too busy to process any more queries at this time.
the server can still connect to the database..
the IP address has not changed..
    how do I fix this?

    Metalink ID 1462776.1
    1. The Oracle Database instance is configured by default to run only 150 PROCESSES;
the maximum load for dedicated connections is determined by the PROCESSES parameter.
When the listener believes the current number of connections has reached maximum load, it may set the state of the
service handler for an instance to "blocked" and begin refusing incoming client connections with the following error (in biserver1.log set in debug level):
"TNS-12516 TNS:listener could not find instance with matching protocol stack"
    Tip:
Verify the Oracle database processes parameter setting. It is also a good idea to make sure the Oracle database sessions and open cursors settings are large enough.
    2. Increase the number of concurrent client connections (sessions) to OBI server.
Each client request to OBI Server uses one SERVER_THREAD.
Each SERVER_THREAD uses 0 or more DB_GATEWAY_THREADs depending upon the number of DB queries executed.
Following NQSConfig.INI parameters need to be tuned (refer to OBIEE tuning guide for details on initial values to be set):
    [ SERVER ]
    MAX_SESSION_LIMIT
    SERVER_THREAD_RANGE
    DB_GATEWAY_THREAD_RANGE
    3. Cleanup Web catalog via instanceconfig.xml using the steps documented in "Validating the Catalog" in System Administrator's Guide for Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition.
    4. In instanceconfig.xml file for each instance, add the following parameters within Cache/Query tags:
    <Cache>
    <Query>
    <MaxEntries>10000</MaxEntries>
    <AbsoluteMaxEntries>20000</AbsoluteMaxEntries>
    <CruiseEntries>3000</CruiseEntries>
    <ForceLRU>true</ForceLRU>
    </Query>
    </Cache>
    5. Make sure you have enough system resources available on BI Servers (sawserver, nqsserver).
    6. Unstable network connection link between OBIEE servers and Database server.
