Z68a-G43 (g3) overclocking has failed message/boot problems

Mobo- z68a-G43 (g3)
Cpu- Intel Core i5 2400 3.10ghz
Memory- Kingston 4gb (2 sticks)
VGA- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
PSU- Thermaltake TR2 600w
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit Service Pack 1
I just built this computer two months ago and it was running perfect. Then I started getting a black BIOS screen when ever I turned the computer on. It said "Warning! Previous overclocking has failed. Press F1 to go to set up. F2 to reset settings and continue." This confused me because I have never put it into overclock. Soon after when I tried to turn my computer back on it would not boot. It tries to boot up several times and only the fans spin. The only way to stop it is to turn the power switch on the psu off. After all this occurred my psu would no longer work either. I sent both my mobo and psu in for warranty and just now got the new ones back. I put it all together and it was working perfectly. A few days later the same message came up again "Warning! The previous overclocking has failed. Press F1 to go to set up. F2 to reset settings and continue." I reset it to the defaults and all the BIOS are updated but it has happened again. My computer will no longer start up but my psu is still functioning at least this time. I have reset the CMOS, tried one stick of RAM, took the comp apart made sure everything was firmly in place and put it back together, and tried unplugging everything but the basics but still the same issue fans run and it keeps trying to start up over and over and never boots. I refuse to believe that this mobo is broken because it is brand new. I was wondering if there is some sort of compatibility issue or voltage problem but I can't figure out what to do. Please someone give me some help. It is very much appreciated.

Thanks but I finally figured out the problem. The socket is set to 1333MHz and I have my RAM at 1600MHz. I just had to manually clock it higher becasue that is overclocked.

  • Delivery has failed message to iCloud account

I regularly email a friend with an iCloud account and receive back a "Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups" message. She is actually getting the emails, but iCloud/MobileMe is trying to forward the emails to a nonexistant account and that causes it to bounce back to me (and presumably everyone else who sends her email). This is a user who has had Mac mail since the beginning of time, first a "DotMac" account, then a "MobileMe" account and now "iCloud".  Evidentally this was caused by the transition to iCloud from her former account. Being nontechnical she tried to fix mail problems by creating a new iCloud account, which of course did not fix anything and created this problem where her real email address attempts to forward mail to a nonexistant email address, both theoretically sourced on iCloud. The Genius Bar guy told her it would automatically fix itself in June, which is both ridiculous and difficult to believe that it will self-repair.
Yes she's called and talked to Apple about it.  It seems to me that there is a reference on the mail server that is causing emails to her real account to be forwarded to the not-real account. This reference can't be deleted? My friend has given up on getting it fixed. Any chance someone at Apple is willing to do something about it?

No on both replies.... I confirmed the same behavior with a different user that was able to send to all 1100 users before also...so it doesn't seem to be user specific.
I did try it again w the original user- this time the send log showed 0 unresolved recipients- and seemed to look normal- yet the sender received the same undelivered message and the emails were not sent\received.

Hi, i have a question about my motherboard that is made by MSI. I have a MSI MS-7508 and every time i turn off the computer and turn it back on the bios tells me that previous over clocking has failed press any key to continue...
If I do press a key to continue it does load windows. I am running a AMD Athlon X2 5600+ (2.9 GHZ) with a PCI PNY 8400 GS 512 mb 2.5 gbs of ram ddr2 3 sticks 2 1gb 1 512 mb. 360 gb sata Western Digital hard drive 360 watt power supply with windows xp professional 32 bit I have never over clocked ANYTHING in fact i don't even touch the bios because i was afraid something like this would happen. My PC is custom built and was built by a friend of mine. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanks, Mike

    2.5 gbs of ram ddr2 3 sticks 2 1gb 1 512 mb.
Mixing memory sticks speed/type/quantity is asking for troubles. Also 3 sticks isn't supported combination.
Take out the the "1 512 mb" then see how its goes,
also place the remaining sticks in proper DIMM slots check mainboard manual about it.

    this also doesn't look good.

  • [Z68A-G43 (G3)] Please replace the ME version problem

    Hey,
i flashed my BIOS to the newest version 5.2 and installed the new ME drivers. Now Control Center gives me this error.
When I flashed the BIOS my CPU was OC'ed. I tried to look at some of the guides how to fix this but didn't quite understand what to do.
So if someone would be awesome and make me a simple step-by-step how to fix this that would be great!
I have already dl'ed and installed the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher.
    Thanking you in advance!

I think you installed the wrong ME drivers. Did you install the ones for your board here:
    http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z68A-G43--G3-.html#/?div=Driver&os=Win8%2064
    If so, try this version:

Getting more and more junk mail at my mac.com.  Has my email address been comprimised?
    Thanks,

Could this be the person spamming my email?  Should I contact aol?
Possibly. But equally likely - if not more likely - is that someone you know with a PC has a virus which is using entries from their address as return addresses for spam.
Won't hurt to try contacting aol. Good luck with that.

  • Ubuntu Has Created A Boot Problem

I've been using Ubuntu on my mobile machine for a while, and have been really liking it for "work" stuff, so I decided to bite the bullet and install it on my iMac. Right off the bat, I made a huge mistake. I didn't read the Ubuntu FAQ that explicitly states Ubuntu cannot be installed on an external drive, so I tried to put it on an external 1TB My Book drive that I have plugged in. My second error was forgetting to specify the partition that GRUB was to be installed to. Default option is installing to the internal drive, which is where I have OS X installed.
When I tried to boot, my Mac gave me a white screen and a flashing folder, which I assume meant something along the lines of "no bootloader." I was able to boot from my OS X install CD and copy my entire internal drive to a second external drive that I have, so I wouldn't lose any data. On the ensuing reboot, holding down the Option key seems to allow me to boot from the external drive! This isn't what I was anticipating, so I've been running off the external drive while I look for a solution to repair my internal drive's boot situation.
Do any of you know how to restore Mac OS X's default bootloader from my Snow Leopard CD? I'd also be content with restoring GRUB, even though it would only have one option (boot to OS X).
Thanks for any help you might be able to give.

I attach links to suggestions to repair mbr and remove grub using the fdisk command.I make no comment on how successful they might be.Do at your own risk.

  • Z68A-G43(G3) boot failure message

I have an i7-2700K Sandybridge processor on a Z68A-G43(G3) motherboard with BIOS v 4.3. I am now having boot up error messages: "Warning!!! The previous overclocking had failed. Please enter Setup to configure your system."
I am not overclocking. I tried clearing CMOS and loading default values into the BIOS and it worked perfectly for a while, but the warning message is appearing again.
I have tested my RAM (8Gb) and it checks out OK and updated my PSU.
Any suggestions please? I see that there's a BIOS update to v 5 but that is for an Ivybridge processor while mine is Sandybridge.

So I have built 4 pcs, all with the above specs. All the motherboards serial numbers are sequential, meaning from the same production run. 3 of the 4 are set up the same, with raid 1 on the hard drives.
On 3 of the four PCs, off random boots (usually after being on for 2 days), a message will pop up in the startup, pre-bios, that says:
Overclocking has failed. Press F1 to boot, F2 to enter Bios setup.
They aren't overclocked. I measured the peak wattage and it hovers around the 200 range, well within the 550 power supply.
    What I've done so far:
    Updated Bios to newest revisions.
Contacted manufacturer. They said check the memory. Ran memtest86 for hours. No problems.
Also purchased new UPS backup with Voltage monitoring, etc.
RMA-ed two of the boards with the replacements having the same problem.
I've just stumbled onto this thread here: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=159053.0
To try it, I've changed the DRAM Frequency from Auto to DDR3-1600MHz. This is where I currently am. Curious that it happens to the machines that are set up in raid 1, but not the non-raid machine.

  • MSI P7N SLI-FI LGA 775 nForce 750i booting problem and error message

Got this board a week ago and I'm having some issues with booting-sometimes. I power it on and it just hangs there doesn't do noting. I hit the restart button and it powers on, but gives me a red letter error message that "previous overclocking has failed and settings were restored to default". But I never overclocked it. The settings were at default in the first place. After it boots and goes into Windows I have no problem at all, works great. But as soon as I reboot it i hangs again until I restart it or power it off. I tried different power options in the bios, but I get the same problem. I checked the MSI web site for BIOS update but there isn't any. So if somebody knows a solution to this problem let me know. Thanks.

I know the 7600GS doesn't recommend a PSU with a lot of power(15 - 17 A), but you're running two of them in SLI.  Your PSU only has 18A on the +12V rail. This could very well be your issue.  Below are some good single +12V rail PSUs, Corsairs and PC Power & Cooling.  You can also look for Silverstone single rail PSUs, but they tend to be pricier.  If you can't get anything other than split-rail, post back and we'll try to make some recommendations.

  • Photosmart 6180 all-in-one printer with error meesage "Ink System has failed"

The printer is 3 years old and has been working fine until this week.  I now receive a 0xc1820206 error code after the "Ink System has failed" message appeared.  I tried unplugging the power cord and removing all the cartridges.  Unfortunately, after completing the instructions from the troubleshooting section and turning the printer back on, I immediately receive the error message again before I submit any print job.  Does anyone know what specifically the error code means or have anything else I can try like cleaning printheads or something? The printer is attached to an Apple Imac with the snow leopard operating system MAC 10.6
    Thank you for any suggestions.

The likely issue is the "plumbing" rather than the electronics.  There are various pumps and tubing that make up the ink delivery system.  Performing a reset as shown here may resolve the issue.

    I have messaging server 5.2 (Patch 2)
I have setup a channel filter that forwards (keep;redirect;) all mail to an external email archive server (It bcc's it), and thats working fine.
I am aware that if the email_archive server goes offline, that the emails may be returned to sender with a "Delivery Notification: Delivery has failed" message.
Is their a way to discard those? Keep in mind that I only want to disregard the ones that have failed going to the email_archive server.

Is their a way to discard those? With MS6.3 you could use the "capture" sieve keyword instead of redirect.
The "capture" keyword changes the envelope sender to be the postmaster address and therefore any bounces go back to the postmaster rather then the 'original' sender e.g.
    capture :message "[email protected]";
Keep in mind that I only want to disregard the ones that have failed going to the email_archive server.I tried a few combinations of filters/mapping rules to achieve this with iMS5.2 but without any success. So at this juncture I suggest you go with either Jay's suggestion if you don't want to upgrade to MS6.3 or the capture sieve option if you do upgrade.

To ensure that your hard drive you computer is trying to boot from is in working order, I recommend following the steps in this document on Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 8). This should help determine if there is a fault with the hard drive.
If the hard drive passes all of the required tests, I recommend returning the BIOS back to its default settings by following this document on Recovering the BIOS.

  • Message: Webcam is etiher disabled or has failed

    Hi everyone.
While I was warking on my laptop, I disabled camera assistant software because I was disturbed with costantly opening sidebar when I scroll over it.
Later, I want to use my webcam, but couldn't.
I thought, that if I uninstall and re-install webcam software, the problem will gone, but it didn't.
Now I'm getting message: Webcam is either disabled or has failed!
How can I again enable my webcam?
    Please.

    Hi
It would be interesting to know what notebook do you have?
Secondly: how did you disable the camera assistant software?
Usually the webcam software should be found in All Programs -> Toshiba
Can you start the webcam software form there?
PS: in msconfig -> Start up tab you will see all applications which would be loaded while booting windows.
    Is the webcam software enabled?
