Z68A-GD65 (B3), problem with multiplier!

Hello!
I'm trying to use 50x multiplier on this board, but everytime I do that, it goes down to either 48x or 47x. I'm reading this is an issue with 23.1 bios?
Anyone else have a solution to this? The latest bios on the homepage for the motherboard at MSI is 22.4. Where is these new bios everybody uses to get to 50x?
Thanks in advance!

Which BIOS do you currently run as Primary ?
What is your CPU Adjust Ratio set to ? and what are your Core 1, 2, 3 and 4 set to ?
btw I removed your double post in the beta section. No need to duplicate your posts.
Hello! Sorry for my doublepost!
Well, just to remind you again, I have the G3 version and I'm using the latest BIOS posted in the beta-section. They are the E7681IMS.N37 posted by Junior on 21st October.
This problem was in the shipped BIOS aswell. 23.1 I think they where.
I'm using 100Mhz BLCK, with a multiplier of 48. If thats what you mean by CPU Adjust Ratio. I have turned off Turbo-bosst and EIST (Doesn't make a diffrence, it downthrottled to 46 and 47 anyway).
Otherwise, everything is default on the bios except my vcore which is set to 1.430.
I might add that this was not a problem when I wrongly flashed my BIOS with the betas for the B3version (If you read the second post in this thread). But I don't want to use BIOS'es for other motherboards. Also, these bioses for the B3-version showed correct readings of FSB in CPU-z, whereas the the BIOS I'm using right now are showing 99.8Mhz.
Sorry for my English, I hope you understand. And again, thanks for your extremely fast answers!

  • Problem with multiplied library in GRR3

    Hello,
We have problem with GRR3 shortdump after running this T_code. After performing trace, it showed that problem are multiplied libraries in report painter. Namely, during import of RP update via GR58 somehow library ZCS is doubled and program have short dump because of it.....Strange is because such a behaviouir is not present in test system.
In order to delete library, first i have to delete all report/r.groups which are connected to it(over 100).... I tried with first report/r.group and succeed. Problem is because i expected that this report will be available becuse it is doubled but no such a case. Now, i am affraid that when i delete all report/r.groups and finally library, it will delete not one but both libraries and those reports will be not present anymore.
Did somebody have same case and advice regarding it for me?
    Thanks.
    Predrag.

What about this problem?. Have you seen the tool panel?. Is too high. What can be the problem?. Best regards.

  • Strange Z68A-GD65 G3 Problem

    Hi first post,
Having recently purchased the Z68A-GD65 G3 motherboard,i have encountered a srange issue.
When i have my Xbox 360 controller connected i cannot enter the bios, but when it is disconnected it loads fine.
    Can anyone find a solution?

I have the Z68A-GD55 G3 and was experiencing the same issue where Windows would not boot with the XBOX controller. It would post but then stop with a black screen with a UEFI code of 92 in the lower right hand corner of the monitor.
I upgraded to the 23.5 BIOS and then downloaded a Windows update for the controller and the issue went away.
    Hope this helps.

  • Z68a-GD65 (G3) Problems Using USB Bootable Tool 1.25g

I am having problems using the USB Bootable Tool 1.25g with the P77, P80, and P82 BIOS's. I have tried both modes 1 and 2. Both modes copy over everything successfully. When booting using the bootable USB drive, after copying the BIOS file via mode 1, the tool flashes a screen very quickly, then says BIOS updated successfully. This is not true, however, because nothing has been updated. I see something rapidly go 1-2-3-4-5, but the progress indicator I was familiar with with the old version of the USB Bootable tool does not show up, where the BIOS file was being copied block by block and took some time.
Mode 2 doesn't work either. I get the message "ROMFILE ROMID is not compatible with existing BIOS". This happened with all three BIOS's, using mode 2. I have tried the "Fix my USB Key" option, and have tried clearing the CMOS as described in the instructions on the forum. As a test, I used the M-Flash in the BIOS and was able to flash to P80. P80 is giving me problems with an Intel Management Mode HECI error which disappears when I start the PC, as well as me being unable to raise the base clock speed--even though it shows as raised in the BIOS and it saves the setting. I am now stuck with P80. Now I cannot flash to any other BIOS using the M-Flash utility, as it doesn't find the BIOS file I manually copied over to the drive. The USB bootable tool will not work.

I did use mode 1, although since I was having trouble, I used mode 2 also, after reading troubleshooting instructions for the USB BIOS tool. The archives I used were all ones I downloaded from the Beta BIOS thread I posted above.
The problems I was having with P80 were actually because I unknowingly was using the N20 BIOS because somehow my BIOS reverted to that. I have no idea how that happened, aside from that possibly being the failsafe BIOS as part of the dual bios system. Above, I meant to say that I flashed the BIOS through Windows when I had success with the P80 BIOS. The M-Flash utility does not read the BIOS files which are available on this forum.

  • K7T pro2, problems with multiplyer.

I just unlocked my cpu (palomino 1700+) with superglue and conductive paint. caus i wanted to overclock it with the multiplyer.
    original clock is 10.5 * 133 now i can run in 11.5 *133.
When i try higher like 14 * 133 the bios sets it to 5 *133 and refuses to save it as 14.
Any comments on how to go around this problem ?
    I´ve downloaded the newest bios.
And the cpu is running at 40 degrees celsius so i have no heating problems.

Ok,   that wasnt much after all that work.
    But thanks for the reply.
Do u think i should get some active cooling on the northbridge instead of the passive that comes w the package?

  • Z87-GD65 Boot Problems With 16GB installed

    Hi All,
    My machine spec
    Intel 4770
    16gb Corsair Vengeance Pro
MSI GTX 780 Twin Frozr Gaming
    Corsair RM850 power supply
    SanDisk extreme II 240GB SSD
    MD Bios 1.8 default settings.
and that's all I have plugged in the board at the moment.
The problem is once I add the second stick of ram and do a real cold boot (like the next day) the machine doesn't boot. The leds just keep cycling.
The funny thing is if I take the second stick out it will boot. Then if I add the second stick back it boots fine and will work all day, no blue screens.
Then next day back to it not booting and cycling leds. I've tried swapping the ram sticks etc and they are in slots 2 and 4.
one other thing I've noticed is it takes a long time to shut down. I'm taking a minute after windows closes.
This is my second GD65 the first one wouldn't boot at all with the GTX plugged in and the same with my old 7870.
    any ideas??
    cheers
    Johnny

Don't the Sandisk Exterme 2's use a Marvell chipset?
The previous generation SanDisk Extreme SSD used a SandForce controller, with largely unchanged firmware. This new drive however moves to a much more favorable combination for companies who have their own firmware development team. Like Crucial’s M500, the Extreme II uses Marvell’s 88SS9187 (codename Monet) controller. "courtesy of Anandtech.
Its time to do a manual memory setting. Set it to 1600 at 1,545 or the closest you can get to 1,575 and ensure your memory timings are set at 9.9.9.24. Retest

  • X79A-GD65 8D problem with built in BIOS utilities (browser, etc)

Good day. I have my X79A-GD65 8D running for about a week now paired with i7 3930k. The board is working wonderfully, however there is just one issue. After installing winki from the cd and returning to the bios to use the built in browser or MSI live update, the white splash screen appears for a while and shortly after a black screen appears and remains.
Ive tried leaving the disc in the drive and have the browsre run directly from the CD but still no luck. I've also borrowed the install DVD of a friend of mine who has an identical board but it still doesnt work.
Please note that I am on the latest BIOS, version 1.7.
    Any help will be appreciated.

Must be talking about Winki? The Software Application User Guide covers it pretty well how it all works and such. Using Live Update is not recommended to be installed or used. Do all UEFI/BIOS updates and driver updates manually from the downloaded files available at the MSI Websites.

  • X58A-GD65 USB3 problem with WD MyBook

    Hi,
I have X58A-GD65 with i7 processor, 6 GB RAM, 4 internal HDD, 4 external HDD, Win 7 x64. Two of the external are WD MyBook Essential USB 3.0/2.0.
My Renesas drivers are v 2.0.34.0 (the ones from the board page).
When I plug two of the WD drives, only ones can be seen. Both on BIOS level and Win 7 level.
Any insight or any newer drivers that work?
    Sincerely
    Bülent

I memory serves corretly, there is a firmware update available from WD that pertains to this.
Also have you checked in the disk manager? Perhaps one needs to be set up.

  • Z68a-GD65 (Bootup Problems)

I'm currently having problems building the following system in signature.
The problem is that it refuses to bootup. I have tried the system with the following setup:
    1 Sata HDD
1 Mem Module in Dimm slot 1/ 2 modules in slots 1 and 3.
    Inside/Outside the case.
I used two power supplies (OCZ 600W/Seasonic 430W)
When switched on, the CPU phase LED (1) flashes for a second, the cpu fan spins momentarily, and the power light on the motherboard lights up. We have tried reseting the cmos, and the same things continue to happen. No other lights appear on the motherboard.
My brother also managed to drop the CPU on the kitchen floor. There is no damage to it, that I can see, but just wondered if this could cause any problems. I should point out that it fell on its "back", so no damage to the pins.

The CPU does not have pins, it only has the contact pads. The pins are oart of the CPU socket on the board. So I am a bit perplexed that you are mentioning potential pin damage ?
The best at this stage is to see if someone has a 1155 socket CPU that you can test on your board to verify if the CPU was indeed damaged internally from the fall. You could also take the CPU to your local PC store and ask them to test it for you. It is unlikely that it would have been damaged by a fall, but depending on the impact it is not impossible that the silicon wafer inside has shifted ever so slightly and that may be the casue of a short.
    Have it tested first.

Am i doing something wrong, i uninstall and install. :(

    Quote
the 7.043 is for a windows update, which doesn't work correctly.  It wouldn't be on windows update unless you werent meant to upgrade it.
That's not entirely true. Windows has made mistakes in the past of supplying incorrect updates to components & devices. Safest way to get correct drivers is from the MSI Website for your board. MSI tests them when they are received from the vendors & then posts them on the Website.

  • Power on-off-on Problems with New Build Z68A-GD65(G3)

I'm hoping someone has seen these issues and can help me, although I realize this is a vague issue. I'm working on a new build. On power up everything looks good but then I get a power off and back on (like a reset). Sometimes it happens very quickly; other times it will stay on for roughly 5-10 minutes before the reset. I've checked all the connectors, case wires look ok, BIOS info looks correct.
The other issue is that when I tried to do the Win 7 install, it loads the files, goes to the "Starting Windows" screen, and freezes there (until the next power off problem shuts things down).
Any ideas on what to try to narrow things down?  Seems like it almost has to be the power supply or motherboard?

You have more than a Z68A-GD65(G3), please list he rest of your components. See my signature below for example of what to list.
           >> Posting Guide <<
I've disconnected everything but the mouse, keyboard and monitor and still have the power resets.
Tried one memory module at a time... still fails.
Played with lower memory freq settings... still fails.
Finally pulled the MB out, bench tested it to rule out shorting in the case; tried it with and without other peripherals... still fails.
I think I'll RMA the MB, although I suppose it could be the psu (unlikely, I'd think).
I had two bad motherboards in my last build. I had hope that MSI would be better...
