Z77 mpower, hdb1 bios

control center keeps whining about intel me, reflash bios 4-5 times, using the usb tool, checked memory test 5,7 several times reports 8.1.50 for me in bios? what intel me version should i install in windows?
thanks

Did you use the tool AND the files here: >> BIOSes<<
What ME driver did you install? Might want to uninstall the ME driver from windows and reinstall the ME 8x version from intel downloads. I have had weird issues ever since installing ME 9xxx on these ME 8xx boards. (Since MSI posted the ME 9xx drivers on their webpage seemed logical to use them.)
always have used the forums usb tool. dont think its my flashes, but the intel driver? agree? i had 9.5 in. will try lastest 8? from intel. no mod? 1.5? 5.0? or just normal 8 latest?, trying normal 8 latest.
trying 10/14/2013
8.1.40.1416
(8)
just tried. still saying please replace me. i think i have try all 8/9 mes and nothing i think its control center problems not detecting newer bios's new changes. I have 2 z77 mpowers, one on hc0(latest official)
this z77 mpower is the latest beta hdb1, both same me firmwares even in the beta still same, but CC NEVER worked on the 8.1.50 fw(bios) i remember working on 8.1.40 fw(bios)

I think it is not normal, MSI upgrade the bios and insert other bugs instead of solving them?

A silly thought of course they didn't insert bugs... unintended consequence of something else most likely.
Best to report the issue directly to MSI.

  • MSI Z77 mpower fan controll

    MB: MSI Z77 MPower
In bios the auto option is avaliable only for CPUFAN and SYSFAN1 SYSFAN2. At the same time in ControlCenter it is possible to enable System Smart fan controll for each fan.
Is there any way to save selected options in Controll Center and automaticly apply them on sturtup?

    Hi
CC shows very first settings taken from BIOS. So whatever its set in BIOS, CC will show this by default. And sadly cannot be changed to be applied differently. Yet you can change settings in BIOS and you should not need to use CC for fan control.

    hi everybody,
i have this motherboard for a few weeks now.and recently it will not boot, but give a error code 62 ,
fans will be spinning etc, but no post.
i have noticed loads of other users having this same issue from different websites, and i can not pin point the problem,
i still do not know what the error code means, as its not listed in the manual.
i am having this problem with intergrated graphics intel cpu. this happens when pc is switched off,not restart.its an intermitant issue, meaning it will work fine at times on boot, but not always,
i have to put pc off, and then it will boot up again fine. what is causing this issue on our z77 mpower boards ?
    system specs :
no gpu ( using cpu gpraphics )
    cpu i7 3770

if the CPU is seated badly it can cause the issue if its not contacting the pins properly in the socket!
ok, but the cpu can only fit one way tightly in socket, there's no movement or looseness when inserted.
whats strange is that this is a problem experienced by many, just google z77 mpower error 62
thnx for advise btw but i think its something else though any advise would help. i will reseat tonight.

  • MSI z77 mpower boot loop-cold start

Just got this PC put together a few days ago and I havent had luck keeping it at 4.5ghz @ 1.360v.
    System Specs:
    i5 2500k
z77 mpower @ latest bios version
    16gb Corsair Vengeance 1866mhz
msi GTX 670 power edition oc
    750w Corsair psu
    256gb samsung SSD
    Corsair H80
I can get it overclocked to 4.5ghz @ 1.360v and while running prime95 for 24hrs it was 100% stable, temps never went over 70C. I have set the I/O voltage to 1.2500v, the System Agent voltage to 1.105, the RAM memory voltage to 1.60v. XMP enabled @ 1866 9-10-9-27.
The problem is that it runs fine until I shut it down for 15 minutes then try to boot it back up, it boot loops 5-6 times then resets everything in the BIOS. The motherboard shows a code 60 as soon as it powers up, then it shuts down again, then powers back up then it gets stuck on A2, then again shuts down and starts back up and shows 60 again, and then A2 again, does this 5-6 times until it decides to reset everything and it allows me into BIOS again. It's driving me INSANE. Does anyone know what the heck is going on? I want to be able to shut it down when I go to sleep and be able to turn it back on without overclocking it again in the morning, ya know?
It works perfectly fine when I restart the computer, only happens when it sits turned off for more than 5 minutes.
      Appreciate the help in advance.

We have similar boards and I cannot view your screen shots: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=162043.0
Try an overclock based off mine and see if it is better.
If you want to do an muliplier change oc, post better screen shots so I can see what you have set.
**PS: Don't mimic my ram settings, just enable xmp. Also, you won't be able to get this stable at 1866 w/ 4 sticks unless you are lucky. Esp with a Sandy cpu.
Do your testing with just 2 sticks in dual channel, then put the 4 in and if you are lucky you may be able to set it to 1600 9-9-924 / 2t.

hi peoples i'm a new here as new user of MSI motherboard, this is my first MSI motherboard, and i allready have a problem with it.
as the manual suggest, for a single gpu configuration i should use pci_e2 (page 1-19)
i've tried GTX 260 216sp no go , black screen no system post ,and pressed reset button like 10 time, didn't work, it worked once and never again, and gpu-z shows [PCI-E 16X2.0 @ X4.0]
i've tried AMD 3850x2 no go , black screen no system post
i've tried 9600GT no go , black screen no system post
i've tried 9500GT no go, black screen no system post
i've tried 9800GTX no go black screen no system post
then each of this vga shifted on pci_e5 and worked at the first system startup
    is the mainboard faulty?!
    PC SPECH :
    i7 3770K @ stock speed

    Ram: corsair platinum 2400c9 2x4gb
    Windows Xp 32bit

i may think this board is faulty isn't it?
the previous mainboard was an Asus Gene Z77 wich didn't give me any kind of problem, cpu ram and psu were the same and worked perfectly.
is there a way to fix this or i should send it back!?

Presume in GPU-Z it was reading 2.0 @ 8X? I think the suggestions are correct. This is a classic behavior of bent or damaged CPU socket pin(s). Could be a faulty PCI-E slot, errant standoff underneath the mainboard, or even a more rare faulty CPU. Uneven mounting or torque pressure of the CPU cooler could also cause this behavior.
what does it mean? should i still have to wait like one month or much more to get a new board since it arrived faulty?

  • MSI Z77 MPower Bios - NO POST

    Hello,
Unfortunately today I stumbled upon a problem.. I was updating the Z77 Mpower bios and it all worked flawlessy for the bios update, when It restarted to update de ME it stopped at 68% and restarted by itself.. It's useless to say that the bios won't start, it does not even post...
The real problem is that this had happened to me a while back too with the other bios so both of them seem bricked
So is there any way to fix it? Since both updated completly the problem happened after a restart and when ME was updating.. It happened exactly the same way with both bios , when updating at 60% + the computer restarted itself and never started again..
Well I'm getting somewhat desperate as I'm in a need on this computer running..
Please tell me there's something that can be done, because I don't want to rma either as I'm in raid 0 and I'll be loosing all of my things..
    Thanks you, regards!

You could also buy a programmer and do it yourself.  I did when I bricked a board.  :-)
I got an SPI programmer based on the CH341A chip and in circuit programming clip for about $20 shipped from China.  Search for EN25T80 or spi programmer on eBay.  It will be less than $10 for a cheap programmer.  The downside is the long wait for shipping.
It turned out that in-circuit programming with a clip did not work on any MSI boards I had.  But connecting the programmer to the JSPI1 header worked perfectly.   The clip works fine with other board manufacturers.  It must have something to do with the way MSI has the bios chips wired.

  • Z77 Mpower boot issue - won't POST

    Hi there
Got a question regarding a PC build that isn't working as well as hoped. Doing this on behalf of my friend but I've been helping him while he builds it so have a good idea of what's been going on.
    Set up is as follows:
Processor: Core i5 3570k (stock, not overclocked or anything)
    Motherboard: MSI Z77 Mpower
RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance memory (in 2x4gb)
    PSU: Corsair 800W Gaming PSU
    Storage: OCZ 240GB SSD
Cooling: Zalman water cooling (can't remember the exact model off hand I'm afraid, will try and get that later)
Graphics: HD 4000 integrated (for now, haven't got the graphics card yet)
We built the machine and got it going no problem. When it was first built it booted no problem, so we set up boot priorities and then installed the Windows 8 Enterprise 90 day trial. All good so far. Installed no problem at all at lightning speed and we got into Windows fine. Installed lots of drivers and so forth with no such trouble either. CPU was reporting a steady 25C average temperature on idle and everything seemed to be going smoothly.
Then we hit a stumbling block. We powered off the machine to make a minor adjustment in the case (all while static protected with a wristband), and after doing this we then powered the machine back on. We're now getting a dim red LED (almost seemed half powered) in the DrMOS overheat warning and then two bright blue LEDs next to it indicating the CPU power phase. The fans will spin and case LEDs come on, but nothing else happens other than that and the LEDs. No POST screen or anything like that. It might also be worth noting that now when you plug the computer in, the green LED on the internal power button no longer lights while the machine is off - when the machine was working it would.
I've spent hours trawling through the forums and can't seem to find the same problem happening. We're getting a bit worried that there could be a fault on the board but wondered if we could get some advice from here first. I tried resetting the CMOS with no avail and trying the other BIOS.
As a last resort, we've now removed the cooler and CPU to check the CPU hasn't melted or anything drastic like that and it's absolutely fine - no visible damage. We've left it like that for now until I can get back over there with some more thermal paste to reseat the processor and cooler so until then we're stuck anyway.
If anyone has any ideas or knows of the problem, it would be really appreciated as we're a bit worried! What should we try?
    Thank you!

Many thanks, will give that a try. Is it an RMA to MSI if that fails then? Forgive me for not totally understanding consumer rights - but it was only bought around a week ago - could we get the supplier to exchange it or would it have to go to MSI for repair?
Quote from: xmad on 27-December-12, 05:16:31
Next, remove the main board and place it on a non-conductive surface and test it with a single stick of ram in dimm 2, cpu & cooler. You can try switching the ram ram sticks and dimms, but the last few times I saw anything about the drmos alarm it was a defective mainboard.
While it is out and the cpu is removed though, take a good look at the cpu socket pins and count all the stand off to make sure there are not extras.

  • Radeon 7950 wont work in primary Z77 Mpower PCI 3.0 Slot?! Help!

I bought an MSI Z77 Mpower motherboard with I7 3770K and HIS Radeon 7950 ICEq Boost Edition 3gb back in January.
Ever since I built the computer it WILL NOT boot up with the GPU card in the first/primary PCI 3.0 slot of the motherboard, it just startsup with a black screen, no bios, post or anything. Just a black screen with the fans going.
This card will boot up perfectly fine in the middle PCIe slot. But it runs slower in this slot, at PCIe x2 3.0.
I had the card RMA'd at the time and it came back as fine, and it works in my brothers computer too.
It just WILL not work in the first PCIe slot on the Z77 Mpower.
My much older Radeon 4850 works perfectly fine in the primary/first PCIe slot, and computer boots and works as normal.
So it seems to be a Z77 mpower - HD 7950 incompatibility?
Can anyone advise on this because its doing my head in?!
BIOS is flashed to the latest version as of yesterday and still no joy.
    Many thanks
    Chris

I'd love to swap to Z77-Mpower, but it doesn't have any PCI slot needed for my M-Audio sound card ;-)
I forgot to mention when we've been checking hardware: if I were you, I'd swap HIS 7950 to another 7950 (Asus, MSI, preferably Sapphire, whatsoever) to check compatibility instead of selling out motherboard. It's great piece of hardware, so I'd blame graphic card first than motherboard - for incompatibility. HIS is one of the cheapest vendors (not the cheapest, like VTX3D for example), so maybe it was a reason.
    It's a proof that M-Power works with other 7950s:

  • MSI Z77 MPower - Disabled integrated video, but it keeps coming back

I have a brand new Z77 MPower board paired with an i7 3770K CPU.  I am running the most recent BIOS.  In BIOS, I have "Virtu Technology" set to "Disabled" and "Initiate Graphic Adapter" is set to "PEG".  As I understand it, this should cause my computer to only use the discrete card (which is an XFX HD 7870, by the way).  This is all good and fine, and it generally works as it's supposed to.
However, every once in a while (maybe every 3rd or 4th boot into Windows), something strange happens:  the 3770K's onboard video (Intel HD 4000) shows up in device manager as "Standard VGA adapter", and Windows Update wants to install an updated driver for Intel HD 4000.  If I install the driver, I get a black screen, and I cannot get Windows to properly boot unless I boot into Safe Mode and remove the Intel driver with a utility like Driver Sweeper or Display Driver Remover.  I have the "Standard VGA Adapter" disabled in Device Manager, but Windows Update still wants to update the driver.  It is very annoying, and I've never had a board that didn't respect the BIOS setting to disable onboard video.  What is going on here?  Is there something that I'm overlooking in the BIOS?
I suppose that I could deal with it if the stupid Intel driver didn't cause my system to lock up.  I guess an acceptable workaround would be to find a working driver for that, but what I really want is for the onboard video to stop showing up in Device Manager.  Any ideas?

Never heard of a Z77 MPower reporting false temps. Could be cooler is somehow wedged on the cpu and is not fully in contact with the heatspreader. Try reseating it.
Fast reply for a Saturday morning, thanks!
I did Google it and couldn't find anyone else reporting bad temperatures, so I'm going to assume maybe I've made a mistake. (none of us are above failure!) Been talking to some other computer builder friends on Facebook and everyone is pretty much in agreement that I should reseat the heatsink, I'm also going to use the Zalman paste, though.
Could I also bother you and ask if you know if less USB ports are enabled since I'm using a 2nd gen Intel Core CPU and not a 3rd gen? I know the PCI-E lanes are less because of it, but I'm not sure if USB would be included or not, going to try and find that in the manual, hopefully it will say something.
As of right now though, it looks like only 4 total USB ports are available, 2x USB 3.0 ports on the back, and the 2 front USB 2.0 ports I plugged into the high powered header on the bottom of the board. The 2 gaming port USB 2.0 ports don't even work. =/

  • Overclocking 3770k and MSI z77 Mpower

I recently purchased a new PC with these specs and wanted to get started overclocking it. I tried a soft overclock of just 4.4ghz and it seems to be hit or miss. I'm fairly new to overclocking so i'm not 100% sure what changes I should be making to increase stability or what the symptoms are of an unstable OC aside from the system crashing.
I grabbed a few pieces of software to get started, CPUZ, Prime95 and Realtemp. Not sure if I need anything else. I also noticed the motherboard has an overclocking profile feature, is it possible to share overclocks with other people and have them work?
Anyways any help would be appreciated, thank you!

First, careful with live update and bios update. Using the forum flash tool and archives here is safer. >>BIOSes<<
As for the overclocking recommendations, first we need to know what kinda of OC you want to do? A turbo type w/ all power savings intact? If so here are some screen shots of similar boards: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=162043.0
The big things that people miss at first is vdroop. If you want to oc very much, you will need to manually set that to 100% for starters.
Otherwise, post screen shots of you uefi bios settings and we can look it over.

Also, after you flashed you bios last, did you re-installed the Intel ME drivers from Intel Downloads?
