Z77A-G43 BIOS 2.11 B5 and MEI problem

Looks like this bios not updating ME firmware. Still has old version 8.1.30 instead 8.1.40
What is wrong with it ?

Same by me. You can try M-flash tool in the bios. I flash the ME-Firmware under DOS. I found the ME-firmware with flash tool by searching in Google. Maybe the Flashtool from this Forum helps. I didn´t try it.
If you wish a download link, write a PM.

  • Satellite L750D - BIOS update 2.1 and sound problem

    Hello
I have little problem. I have been downloaded from your website BIOS 2.1 for Toshiba Satellite L750D (PSK32E).
I have been updated BIOS to 2.1 and start problem with sound. When I start game, music or something other only 2 first minutes sound plays properly but then it stops for no reason. No sound at all. I have been reinstalled op system but the problem is still there.
Sound works for 2 minutes only then is completely off. Every start application with sound plays 2 minutes and stop all quiet is. I have made a probe on my mother laptop its a twin laptop. I have been updated bios same problem 2 minutes and then no sound. My operating system is win 8 pro 64 my mother laptop is with win 7 x64 premium.
Two BIOS updated 2.1 ver on L750D and the problem is same. Please fix BIOS.

The BIOS seems to be very old. I was released nearly 1.5 years ago so to be honest I doubt its and BIOS issue.
I had the similar issue with my other notebook equipped with an Realtek sound card.
The sound appeared again after plugging and removing the headphone jack
But i could solve this installing the newest sound driver update from Realtek driver page.
But it seems that your Satellite does not support Realtek sound chip but Conexant sound chip.
Therefore the solution might not be useful for you.
However, I think you need to update the sound driver.I recommend you to google for Conexant SmartAudio HD driver and to test the newest available driver version.
In internet I could found the Conexant SmartAudio HD Driver version 8.65.9.51 for Win 7/ Win 8 / Win 8.1
Not quite sure if this is the newest version but you can test it.
In order to manually update your driver:
    1. Go to Device Manager (right click on My Computer, choose Manage and then find Device Manager in the left panel)
    2. Right click on the hardware device you wish to update and choose Update Driver Software
    3. Choose to select the location of the new driver manually and browse to the folder where you downloaded the driver

  • Z77A-G43 No onboard VGA,HDMI and DVI, No audio

I have a Z77A-G43 with a i5-3350P processor. I connected my monitor (Iiyama) on the on-board VGA port. After installation i started up the computer. I could see the the computer was starting up on the keyboard but i did not see anything on the monitor. My monitor has two inputs, VGA and HDMI, so i tried the on-board HDMI-port. Again no picture.
Then i put in a videocard in the PCIe slot and connected the monitor on the VGA output of the videocard.
I started up the computer and now i could see the start-up on the monitor, so the monitor and VGA cable are oke.
After installation of the software i saw that there where no speakers attached. Tested the speakers on a other the computer and the are oke. So i have allso a problem with the on-board speakeroutput.
It is a new motherboard and i went back the the shop and got another motherboard, installed it and started up the computer. I got the same problems with this new motherboard as with the one i had before.
I checked all the connections seferal times and did not find anything wrong.
With a videocard i could see in the BIOS. All the connected hardware was recognized.
What could be the problem with the on-board VGA, HDMI and the on-board speakeroutput.

How far has the build progressed? Got the OS installed yet? You have to have the audio driver loaded before you get the audio to work.

  • Z77a g43 BIOS problem

Hi all, I have a problem with the BIOS on my Z77a g43 motherboard.
First of all here are the system specs.
    Cpu- i5 3570K
    Motherboard- z77a g43
    RAM- 8GB Kingston hyperX 1600MHz
    PSU- Enermax 850w 80+ bronze
    SSD- 120GB vertex plus
    HDD- seagate 500GB
    GPU- HD 7950 3GB
Heres the problem. When I use HD 4000 onboard graphics or a nvidea GPU all seems fine in my BIOS.
When I install a Radeon card my BIOS loses most of its features and looks completely different
No overclock options ect, it looks wierd and different, has anyone got a solution for this or had the same problem???
    Ive tried clearing CMOS.
    Different Radeon cards.
I`m runnion bios version 2.0 but have tried the latest BIOS but that made the problem worse(BIOS screen was zoomed into the top left of the screen)
Ive taken the motherboard battery out for a hour to make double sure the CMOS was totally clear.
Has anyone got any advice for me please    This is driving me nuts.
I apologise if the same problem has been reported on this forum but I did look before posting.

My new monitor arrived today and I can confirm that the HDMI tv was the problem.
Everything appears normal now after 5 months of trying to fix something that wasn`t broke lol.
Can I thank everyone that has posted in this thread who`s offered their support
Now I have a normal display in the BIOS and can use all the functions i`m going to have a mess about with a small overclock.
I already changed the multiplier to 42 and all seems well, i`m sure their will be a thread on here somewhere offering advice on OCing the i5 3570K with this board, does anyone have a link to such thread please?? It seems daft me starting one if their is one already running.
I`m over the moon with this MSI board now its doing what it should be

  • MSI Z77A-G43 bios (non-gaming)

    Hi all,
I updated to a beta BIOS provided my MSI tech support a little over an hour ago. It was version 2.D1
Everything flashed fine and it updated the Intel IME(?) then said it would reboot or I could boot on my own. I let it do it's thing.
Once it was finished my PC just keeps turning on then turning off after 2 seconds or less. I tried resetting the CMOS by removing the board battery, which use to clear this issue before, but the same thing happens. Anyone have any thoughts on this? MSI tech support won't open again until Monday morning.

    get .2D0: http://download.msi.com/bos_exe/7758v2D.zip
and copy BIOS over USB key, use original BIOS file name
and attach USB stick to the backside USB ports and turn it on
see if can recover/boot to your old bios
Dunno why they give you and old BIOS[+beta] than your running one.
    you have done downgrade
if BIOS recovery don't help, you have to talk MSI tech or your reseller to RMA it
Just tried the BIOS recovery. None of the USB 2.0 ports are picking up the recovery drive. It's formatted in FAT32 with the BIOS file in the root directory. It's still just turning on then immediately turning off with no picture both with my old video card in and out. So I think I am looking for an RMA.

  • Z77A-G43 - Bios issues

    Hello!
I just updated the bios through Live Update 5 and restarted my computer. Now I'm not able to start it up, so I tried the Reset CMOS variation with the jumper and it's still not working. I'm trying to find out where the battery on the MB is so I can reset the whole board manually, but I'm struggling to find exactly where it is. I've checked the manual that I have, both the physical one and the ones on internet, but I'm still not able to find any information about this. I'm not able to get into the BIOS at all since the update and all alternatives I've tried (1/2 when it's booting, and also del/f11) but nothing is working.
Is there anyone out there who knows how I reset the CMOS battery on my motherboard? I wonder how I should proceed with this.
Could someone help me out with this issue?

Now I have even tried to follow the "bad flash"-guide from MSI. This didn't work though. I did put Another version of BIOS on an USB-stick and tried to boot it, but it didnt work. I can find the stick whenever i push F11 at MSI splash screen, but after chosing the USB-stick from the menu, the computer just freezes.
I don't really know if there's something else that I could try out. I guess I need to do a RMA on this MB and I also guess that MSI should develop the Live Update software to not make this issue happen in the future as well.

Any idea where I can get that file? Seems to be missing from the server. I tried all 3 locations.
    Thanks.

Could be a server issue or MSI removed it. There is no other location to obtain it. If the file is valid MSI will fix the download. In the meantime you can try the beta if you like: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=161593.msg1266054#msg1266054

Second problem: I ask u this thing cause I had a problem. I installed Virtual Cd 7 and I created a virtual cd (d:) when I start my pc a white text appears: no starter disk insert disk and push a button. What can I do thanx

    Hi,
for entering BIOS you have to press ESC directly after pressing power button!
I have no experience with virtual CD but I use a tool called Daemon tools. With this tool you can use a hdd based CD image as normal CD during Windows!

  • Z77A-G43 Issue - Bios not working

    Dear Forum,
I have a quite strange issue with my brand new system.
    Specs first:
    MSi Z77A-G43 BIOS 2.2/2.3, i5 3570K, Win7 Professional 64 bit
    G.Skill Value Series 8GB DDR3-1333 Kit
be quiet! Straight Power E9 580 Watt CM
    Gigabyte GeForce GTX560 Ti
    OCZ Vertex 120GB SSD
    Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB
    LG GH24NS70
    Problem description:
All parts are brand new. Machine was assembled (antistatic wristband used), Display connected to PCIE-Nvidia gfx card.
Display showed post codes (99, A2) in low resolution and got stuck with a blinking cursor in the top left corner.
After some cable checking I switched to the built-in gfx (from CPU) and the machine booted into bios (v.2.2) after showing the MSI logo.
Whenever I tried to change or even view the bios settings, the machine froze and had to be hard reset.
I installed Win7 without a flaw and updated the bios to 2.3 using Live Update. No errors.
Now whenever I trie to access the bios (hitting DEL) the bios image (blueish) pops up for a short moment and the machine reboots. Nothing else I can do there. It still booted though into windows.
I did the CMOS-reset which showed the initial "settings have been reset, hit F1 for setup or F2 to continue" message but when hitting F1 it again flashed the bios image for a microsecond and rebooted.
Windows still booted normally, when starting Click Bios II application it showed the loading screen but nothing happened. So I decided to reflash 2.3 Bios.
    --> Nothing changed
I then flashed the Bios down to 2.2 using the MSIHQ-Flash utility (awesome tool) which lead to the same effect as before:
I could access the bios but could not change any settings, the machine froze. The click-Bios application started though.
    Now I have two questions:
    1) What's the matter with the board/bios? I can still return the mainboard to the vendor but would rather like to see this issue fixed
    2) Any ideas with the non-running PCIE-graphics card? Could this be related to the mainboard/bios as well? PSU has 580W and all cables were connected properly.
Thanks for any input that might help..

Wouldn't even bother trying anymore with v2.2 since it needs v2.3 to fully support the CPU you have. Recommend to stay with v2.3 since it updates the Management Engine. Going to v2.2 may be causing a chip corruption of some kind.
Not sure what kind or brand of keyboard is involved here, but try with a generic USB one. I had to enable F-Lock on my keyboard to make it go to the UEFI/BIOS using the Delete key. Test with one RAM stick only in the primary dimm slot. Depending on the manual revision, that is either DIMM1 or DIMM2. Update to v2.3, remove the PSU power cord, remove the battery for awhile, clear CMOS and reset, and test again.
I did use another keyboard, I did a CMOS reset, I  have only one module in DIMM2 as stated in the manual. I guess I went through all usual troubleshouting steps. some things in my system don't like each others.
what I did not do so far is comparing the serial of the old and new mainboard. will do that tonight - I srsly hope they didn't send the faulty one again..

  • Black screen at boot MSI Z77A-G43 with HD7850

    Hi,
I've tried everything You suggested in this topic. I've upgrade and downgrade bios (official 2.3, 2.4, 2.8, 2,9 / beta 256, 281,296) few times but still is black screen at boot. Now i'm on the newest beta bios 296 and still same issue on Sapphire HD 7850 with my Z77a-G43 board. I know for sure that sapphire working well because I've checked on other mobo with even worst PSU (400W instead 550W Volcano). Before hd 7850 I had gtx460 and swith those few times and always gtx460 works fine, so I don't understand anything right now.
Tried different slots, also clear cmos.
    Board: MSI Z77A-G43
    Bios: Version 296
    VGA:   Sapphire HD7850 1GB
    PSU:   Modecom Volcano 550W

Can You help me somehow, maybe I did not check something else?

Do you see the same problem on bios 2.90?
The Z77A-G43 seems the have difficulties accepting HD7xxx AMD VGA cards lately.
It seems that the problem is gone. I thought of it being an ATI driver issue ~ but not even the latest didn't fix it. But since I flashed to BIOS 2.9 I haven't encountered the problem anymore. So I believe something is fixed between 2.3 to 2.9.
However my problem was a bit different that the OP has.
Oh, and I said this on other thread so I say it here too: MSI and Asus 7xxx cards haven't faced the kind of issues Sapphires are having. I'm so glad to my choice... as I almost picked Sapphire but then read comments on Newegg which weren't in favor for Sapphire.

  • Z77A-G43 - DRAM banks 1&2 acting up.

Hey, guys. Thanks in advance for your time. I know it gets busy around here.
I am putting together a new system for the wife, and have an odd little issue. The DRAM banks 1 & 2 cause a pre-POST boot-loop when either are used. Banks 3&4 work perfectly. When a stick is in bank 1 or 2, the computer will power on, the fans spin, no video output, then it shuts itself down (regardless of what banks 3 & 4 hold). Repeats a few seconds later. All the usual trouble shooting has gone down. BIOS is all out-of-box default. All the components are brand new, but regardless were systematically replaced/removed one by one to narrow it down to these 2 ram banks. Needless to say, the RAM is fine - tested in two different computers. The memory banks are clean, new, with no visible dirt or damage. It's just odd.
    Code: [Select]
    1   2   3   4     <- Bank # ... X = used ... O = empty
    X   X   X   X = FAIL
    X   O   O   O = FAIL
    O   X   O   O = FAIL
    X   X   O   O = FAIL
    O   O   X   X = OK
    O   O   X   O = OK
    O   O   O   X = OK
The RAM in use is Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600MHz PC3 12800 4 GB (4 identical sticks = 16gb total) (KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX ). With RAM in memory banks 3 & 4, BIOS tones it down to 1333 from 1600, but that's the least of my worries. BIOS shows the timing as 9/9/9/24 and the voltage around 1.45 (can't remember exactly) even when it's increased to 1.65 (as suggested by the sticky). I also tried going 1 stick at a time but it started acting up as soon as I put anything in bank 3 or 4. There's just a lot of BIOS options that I simply don't know what they do.
I realize you guys have seen a lot of issues and was curious if you wouldn't mind lending a hand? I know my way around a computer, but certainly don't have the specialty knowledge particular to these pieces of hardware that you guys do. Any help is very appreciated. Please let me know if there's any information I can provide. I am dumping anything I think could be remotely relevant in this message. I really hope it's not a faulty board. Between disassembly and shipping, that would be an awful hassle.
    Here's what I'm working with:
    MSI Z77A-G43 (BIOS v2.2B2)
    Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600MHz PC3 12800 4 GB (4 identical sticks = 16gb total) (KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX )
    Intel Core i5-2500 3.3ghz
Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti 2gb
PSU: Cooler Master GX 750W (RS750-ACAAE3-US)
    A-Data 120 GB SATAIII Sandforce SSD (AS510S3-120GM-C)
Western Digital Caviar Green 2 TB HD (WD20EARX)
Case: Cooler Master HAF 922 (RC-922M-KKN1-GP)
No OS has been installed. I didn't want to get too involved until I knew the hardware was staying put.
Thank you again for your time.

I think the potential explanations for your problems are only a few.  We can, I think, exclude a memory compatibility problem, since the sticks work fine in other slots.
In my oppinion, what we are looking at is one of the following things:
    1. A problem with the memory controller (which is inside the processor) = defective CPU
    2. A pin-contact problem between the CPU's contact pads and the board's socket pins causing certain memory slots to be improperly connected to the CPU's memory interface
    3. A short-circuit problem, blocking the functionality of the memory slots (test the board outside the case on a non-conducting surface)
    4. Defective memory slots or a problem in the underlying circuits = defective board
At your suggestion, I have made a couple of attempts to reseat the CPU (regarding #2). I realize that was a long shot, and not surprised to see no difference. I just wish I had another LGA 1155 CPU to swap out and test #1. I'm going to continue to brainstorm this for a few days before putting in a RMA request.

    Hello all,
I have this weird issue with cold booting while overclocking. I've tried very hard to diagnose the problem but have been unable to find the culprit.
So I'm using an i5-2500k with the mobo in the subject. I have flashed the BIOS to the latest (2.4). So everytime I try to overclock by using a different multi (it can be as subtle has x34) the system will fail the overclock while cold booting. What I mean by that is if I do the overclock from the bios then save&reboot it will load in windows and be totally stable under IBT. I can achieve any kind of overclock up to 4.7 Ghz and it will be totally stable.
BUT, as soon as I do a shutdown of the system, upon booting (cold boot), the computer will try to boot but fail at it. I'll be prompted by the bios to reload default.
I've tried various combinaisons to no avail. I even tried to underclock the processor to sub x33. I don't understand what could be wrong. It seems as soon as I switch to anything else then auto on the ratio, it won't boot from shutdown. Weird.
Thanks in advance for your inputs.
