Z77A-G45 Live Update drivers different than websites (Also Intel has their own)

Why are there different drivers listed in Live Update 5 than what is listed on the website? This is especially confusing with Management Engine driver because there are two separate drivers dated 2013-10-16 on the website in addition to Intel and Live Update having their own different driver.
Some examples:
MSI website:
Intel Management Engine Driver 9.5.15.1730
Intel Management Engine Driver 8.1.30.1349
Realtek High Definition Audio Driver 6.0.1.7037

Live Update 5:

Should I just go 100% by the website (although Intel's are also different than MSI's site..)?
Also, I'm currently on BIOS 2.9. Should I update to 2.C0? Is that one stable for overclocking?

I've never actually installed anything with it. I was just curious to see which files it'd attempt to update. I'll definitely uninstall it now though..

We do this in my family now. We have one account for purchases, so it is used to share music and apps (I think that is in Settings/iTunes & App Stores). Each iDevice has this configured.
Then, each of us has our own iCloud account that is configured under Settings/iCloud. That then allows us to have our own Mail/Contacts/Calendars/Reminders/Safari Bookmarks/Notes/Passbook/Photo Stream/Documents & Data/Find My iPhone/and Backup. That Backup piece is pretty sweet and comes in handly if you replace your iDevice. You can just restore from it.
So we all share the Apple Store account but we all have our own iCloud accounts to keep the rest seperate or things like you mentioned are a nightmare.

Think of it as an internet based ("cloud") area for all of those items listed in my response. What you need to remember is photo stream only maintans the last 1000 pictures so don't count it as a complete backup solution for your pictures. Even though I rarely sync with a computer these days, I do still try to sync my phone with iPhoto (I have an iMac) so that I have copies of all of my pictures. 1000 may not stretch as far as it sounds.

[Z77A-GD65] Live Update 5 Not Offering All Downloads

I'm using the latest Live Update 5 (5.0.086) on a new build using W8RP.
I noticed though that it doesn't offer all the things that I would have thought it would, when comparing to the list available for my mb on MSI's website.
For example, I don't get offered;
Utilities:
OTP Service
Network Genie (I can understand this one, as I don't have Realtek LAN)
Drivers:
Lucid Virtu MVP
Asmedia SATA
Intel Rapid Start Technology
Intel Smart Connect Technology
Intel USB3
I also notice that Intel VGA & Chipset drivers were updated yesterday according to the MSI mb download page but how long does it take for these to show up in Live Update 5 please?
Also could someone explain what OTP Service utility does please? I know it stands for Over Thermal Protection but does it present any information to the user in the OS? I see it says on the downloads page about having Control Center 2.2.056 or above, so does it provide additional detail within Control Center?

Also, if you ever need to flash your bios, use the forum tool, it is more relialbe than other methods.

App store update login different than Regular app store

I have updates to download from the app store and the login is different than when I download an app.

If those apps were purchased with the Apple ID that pops up - you have to use that ID in order to update the app. If you have more than one ID, this is normal behavior. One of the apps must need that ID in order to update.
If you know that this is not the case, and I'm not sure why that ID would come up if it isn't the case. You can sign into the correct account in Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap the ID and then sign out, then sign in with the correct ID.

MSI Live update Drivers

How come MSI doesn't use the latest Catlyst drivers in the live update?

Good question...I have an nvidia card and their drivers are often very old, too (though just today, by coincidence, they updated them).
My guess is this: MSI needs to take extra time to "customize" the drivers, which causes the delay. For example, video cards with VIVO need (?) a customized MSI driver in order to use that feature. Just a guess, really...

Z77A-GD65 Live update and mouse

Hey all!
trying to see if theres any update to the BIOS for my MB.... but when i enter liveupdate f rom the BIOS I cant use the mouse (well I can move it around but it wont register any clicks).
So what shall I do?

Z77A - G45 bios update fail

I tried to update the bios to make my new i5 3570k works on the board but it fails.
The update crashed and since I can even get my PC to boot, I just get a black screen and the PC is restarting again and again.
I tried to make a bootable USB key with the MSI's utilie linked in the FAQ but I can make it work, it doesn't recognize the bios archive I downloaded from the MSI's site as a proper one.
I also try to make the USB bootable with others utilities and put the bios file on it, the PC doesn't reboot anymore but I can't get anything on the screen, I still got a black screen and nothing seems to happen.
Sorry, if I didn't express properly, english is not my native language .

That's what I did, but it didn't work. I didn't even get the second option properly, perhaps it's because my Notebook motherboard is an MSI too. But If the tool don't work in this case, it doesn't matter .

Live-update 5 recommends Z77MA-G45

Hello,
I have motherboard Z77MA-G45
live-update 5 has informed me that this software is available to me and pertains to my computer. it doesn't provide much, if any, information about it. the computer is working well, there are no alerts in device manager, but if it will benefit me, I will try to install it. google doesn't offer much either.
does anyone know what this stuff is/does. all info is welcomed.

MSI Drivers & Live update

Hi all, thanks for the help on my last problem,
i managed to install my drivers and sum utillities but now when i insert my MSI mother board driver cd it loads the setup and crashes the computer!
this also happens on my live update, it will download all of the needed files but when it reaches the motherboard driver update it crashes!
is anyone else having/had this problem and can help please!!!

M510C Megabook Bios and Live Update

Where can I obtain Latest Bios and Drivers for M510C Laptop
Flashed Bios with latest from live update but it went backwards to older version Bios
Was 2.30 Now 1.40(beta) (thought it was typo has happened with other MSI Live update files before) {Thats my excuse}
Now Live Updates shows bios optimised
Also all the driver files live update 3 (Ver3.61) finds are old and web links for drivers are old and no bios image to download
Had to use ATI drivers for newer Megabook 610
Also had to download Intel inf and wireless g update version from intels site
PC Alert4 Preloaded version show CPU Temp and System Temp
Now Manualy updated PC Alert4 it only shows CPU Temp
Overall Very Happy with Megabook Quality and performance (just fine tuning of software/drivers needed)
Would like live update to show updated drivers and Bios images
Also would be nice to have graphical picture report of battery conditon like it shows of promotional Sheet

How to update Smart Playlists without Live Updating?

I have around 100 Smart Playlists and 25,000 songs in iTunes. Many of the Smart Playlists have interrelations and multiple nested rules.
iTunes pretty much grinds to a hault every time I do anything. It generally freezes for 10-40 seconds every time a "change" happens, including when a song finishes playing. If I drag and drop a 12 song album into iTunes, it will freeze for several minutes.
Assuming this was due to the Live Updating of the Smart Playlists, I unchecked the Live Updating from most of the playlists. This took the general performace of iTunes to an acceptable speed, but now these Smart Playlists NEVER update.
I'd like to find a solution to allow the playlists to update while iTunes runs at an acceptable speed.
Is there a way to have certain Smart Playlists update only when iTunes starts up?
Is there a file menu or button way to tell iTunes to update ALL Smart Playlists that are not Live Updating?

I've also had a look at the available scripting commands but I can't find any that trigger smart playlist updating or that would have been a way to approach the problem.

tegestologist - ive used windows live bios update twice now without problem. Key things to note Close all other progs Ensure your not ocing that should include Dynamic oc.
Everyone has their own preference. Just be slow & methodical.

Any devices connected to the same icloud account can sync all the data on that account. For this reason an icloud account is really for a single user.
On a mac, if each user has their own account, then the itunes for that mac account should be set up to connect to that user's icloud account (System preferences>icloud).

Used Drivers From Disc - Should I update? - Z77A - G45

So, I bought a Z77A-G45 to swap out with a dead ECS board, and used the disc to install the drivers. My question is, should I update the drivers from the msi site, and if so, which ones. I noticed there are about 7 different updates for various things on the board. I'm worried about driver updates crashing, and creating problems.

As the disc drivers are usually quite old try downloading from product site and install latest. just try all available for your OS
