Z8000 mouse not pairing

I recently acquired an HP Z8000 Bluetooth Mouse for an Envy dv4 laptop. When I click "Add a Device" and then select the mouse for pairing, it'll say "Connecting" for a minute, and then say "That didn't work. Try again, and make sure your desktop PC is still discoverable." As far as I know, both are discoverable. A little help?

Try this:

  • HP Bluetooth Mouse Z8000 Will Not Pair with HP EliteBook 840 G1

I have an HP EliteBook 840 G1 running Windows 7 64-bit.  I recently purchased the HP Bluetooth Mouse Z8000.  I cannot pair the mouse with my PC.  The mouse is working properly, I can pair it with my iMac with no issues.   The HP EliteBook's Bluetooth radio is working properly, I am amble to pair my Apple Magic Mouse, Bose Speaker, iPhone, printer, etc. with no issues. The HP EliteBook does not even detect the Z8000 mouse.  The iMac detects it immediately.  What am I doing wrong?  Is there a driver to download?  The mouse says Bluetooth Smart on the box, which I understand in Bluetooth 4.0.  According the HP's documentation, my EliteBook has Bluetooth 4.0?  How can I confirm this?

Hi, Your machine can have 1 of the following options: WLAN:
    Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11ac (2x2) WiFi and Bluetooth® 4.0 Combo
    Intel® Dual Band Wireless-N 7260AN 802.11a/b/g/n (2x2) WiFi and Bluetooth® 4.0 Combo
Intel® Dual Band Wireless-N 7260NB 802.11a/b/g/n (2x2) WiFi Broadcom 802.11a/b/g/n (2x2) and Bluetooth® 4.0 Combo Now, please check Device Manager (Network Adapters) to see which wireless card is on your machine because one card does not have BT. Regards.

  • HP Z8000 Mouse not powering up

    Hello all,
I just received this beautiful little mouse in the mail today and it is not powering on! Please help. I placed the batteries in the mouse, and turned it on, but there is no red light, or sign that it is on at all. I am using the batteries that it came with, so I also tried to replace the batteries with no luck. Could this be a bad unit right out of the box?
    Thanks,
    Joey

  • Z8000 not pairing with probook 6475b - peripheral driver not installled

    Hi!
i've bought a z8000 mouse, and it does not pair with HP Probook 6475b neither with my Macbook.
When trying to do it with the HP Notebook, it tells me that the peripheral driver was not installed (COM5).
When doing it with a mac, the mouse doesnt even appear as a Bluetooth Device.
    Tks

Nope. You don't delineate where you're coming from, and the simplest solutions should always be tried first. Hope you find your answer.
    Cheers.

  • Brand new Macbook Pro not pairing with Apple Keyboard and mouse!

Hi all, I have a brand new Macbook Pro and an older wireless Apple Keyboard and Mouse (that were being previously used with my imac G5).
Now I want to use these for this macbook. I am finding that they are being recognised but not pairing up?
Do you need to stop the previous pairing with the imac before they will pair with the Macbook?
Or do I need to update specific software? (I would have thought it has all the necessary updates already installed).
    I am running Snow leopard.
I have brand new batteries in the keyboard and mouse.
I really appreciate any helpful advice. Sorry if the answer is obvious!
    Thanks

Hi there, i had a problem pairing an Apple wireless keyboard with my MacBook pro but managed to solve it.
The default passkey option in Bluetooth setup assistant is 'automatic' which will (if the MacBook can 'see' the keyboard in the first instance) then say something like 'your device may prompt you to enter the following passcode 1234 5678'
Obviously the keyboard doesn't provide any feedback - I went ahead and typed the number and hit the return key a number of times - the MacBook then displayed a 'pairing failed - you may have entered the incorrect passkey' message.
What i was doing wrong was keying only numbers - when i keyed 1234[SPACE]5678 + RETURN pairing worked.
I had thought the 'gap' in the passcode was to make it easier to read, not that it implied a space in the passcode.
    Hope that helps.

  • Replacement magic mouse would not pair; need

This problem is solved; am starting this discussion to maybe save someone time and trouble.  Problem began when I dropped my magic mouse and ended its life.  I was surprised it was that fragile but that is another story; I use is too much to give it up.  Bought a new magic mouse and tried to install while the old mouse was still recognized by the computer.  I don't really know if this was the problem but the new mouse would not pair, and then my Mac Pro would not even recognize or find it through system preferences.  So I clicked the Apple and went to "about this mac" / "more info" / "system report" and it was listed under bluetooth as connected but not paired.  Went to bluetooth in sys preferences and tried to delete without success.  Went back and forth trying to delete and then decided to try a restart.  Voila!  Checked system report and was not listed.  Went to sys preferences to set up bluetooth mouse and was set up and paired in seconds.  I do not understand what happened; can't explain either but it seems that I cleared a cache in the restart that allowed me to start fresh.  Once that was done was good.  I wasted an hour or more being very frustrated because before the set up had been so easy for the first magic mouse and my magic track pad.  Hope this helps someone.

    DUDE! YOU ROCK!
I had the same issue. I've just spent an hour trying to pair and repair, restarting, etc.  Then i found your post about the replacement Magic Mouse. Mine started dropping signals after a year so I decided to buy a new one, but I thought the old one might be interefering because I could not get the new one to pair.  I did what you did in system preferences to set up a new mouse and it worked like a charm!
    Grateful for your post.

  • Wireless keyboard not pairing with IMac while mouse

I am having trouble with the wireless keyboard entering my password when booting up. It will not let me enter any characters. My wireless mouse & trackpad seem to work fine. Right now I am submitting this issue through my Ipad (3rd Gen) using the same keyboard that will not pair with my IMac. I called Apple tech yesterday and he had me remove  the new batteries from the keyboard and depress the power button for one minute, then replace the batteries and power up the Imac. That solution seemed to work yesterday. Last evening i shut the machine down and tried to start today and had the same issue. The keyboard is working fine with this Ipad and had no trouble recognizing it on bluetooth. Has anybody had this same problem, I was considering purchasing a USB apple keyboard until I tried the keyboard with a different device (my ipad)

How did you get on? My brother is having a similar problem, he bought a replacement wireless keyboard which is not recognized by/paired with his iMac and thus he can't login..

  • TS3048 mouse will not pair

MS Bluetooth Notebook Mouse will not pair with macBookpro. tried all things. is recognized but will not pair. new batteries, rebooted, reset pram. it worked until i removed it by mistake. OS 10.8.2. Only thing I can think to do is throw it aganst the wall, but that will only mean that I'll need to buy a new mouse and start all over. Hoping someone has a better idea.

    Hello:
Try deleting the mouse from the system.  Turn the mouse off.  Reset SMC (which is also a restart.  Turn the mouse on and, hopefully, it will be found by the system.

  • HP X7000 Wifi Mouse will not pair since I upgraded to Windows 10

I upgraded to Windows 10 yesterday 29 July 2015 and now my HP X7000 Wifi Mouse will not pair with my laptop HP Pavilion dv7.

I have the same issue.  I upgraded today and I have to use the built-in touchpad on my HP ENVY 17 instead of my HP X7000 Wifi mouse.  From the looks of it, HP hasn't updated their drivers/software to support Windows 10. I am not very happy with HP - my ENVY 17 gets insanely hot in the palm rest area to the left of the touchpad, and now this wifi mouse doesn't work with Windows 10.  2 big negatives that will prevent me from buying HP in the future.  The HP Envy 17 temperature issue is well-known among us customers that have to deal with it. Come on, HP - support your products!

  • Lenovo N700 mouse will not pair

I just got this new mouse and while it works in wireless radio mode with the dongle, it will not pair via Bluetooth. I am running Windows 8.1 on a Lenovo Yoga 11s with Bluetooth 4.0. I'd rather not use the dongle obviously. Why do I get a driver error when trying to pair and why can't I find any drivers for this on the Lenovo website?

Hi,The mouse has to be in mouse mode and in wireless mode also! Press and hold the L,R and the middle button(not the windows one(the middle touch have 2 buttons underneath)) then switch to Bluetooth mode without releasing the 3 buttons, after 5-10 secs. you will see the orange light and after that the mouse will be able  to pair. P.S. Just tried it 3 times and it has worked for every try

  • 3rd party mouse will not pair using Lion?

Just upgraded to Lion tonight.  My HP Laser bluetooth Model N558 mouse which worked perfectly on the 17" macbook pro using Snow Leopard NOW will not pair with Mac.  Downloaded the latest HP drivers, did a software update, restarted but mouse attemps to pair for about 1-2 seconds and then error message comes up saying the Mouce cannot pair with the Mac.  Very frustrating and not finding any answers on MAC or HP forums. Error message on "select bluetooth device" says, "The device does not have the necessary services." It sure had the necessary services using Snow Leopard.  Next error message, "The paring attempt was unsuccessful.  The device is refusing the paring attempt..."
No matter what I have tried, new batteries, restarts, take out batteries for 10 minutes, holding down 'discover' button for 10 seconds. I've tried just about everything mentioned in the forums.
I don't enjoy the prospect of having to lug a usb mouse on my road trips but cannot find a solution.

  • Magic Mouse will not pair (OS X Yosemite version 10.10.1)

All of a sudden my Magic Mouse will not pair. Very annoying!
I have changed the batteries, several times, so the light is on on the Magic Mouse.
I have opened System Preference/Bluetooth. I can see that it is searching for devices but it is not connecting to the Magic Mouse.
I currently have a Apple Wireless Keyboard and have paired an Ultrathin Touch Mouse in the interim, but I want my Magic Mouse back.
Can someone please help (in a language that I can understand) with this issue.
    Thank you so much.
    Cheers

  • My magic mouse  does not pair with my mac mini   help please

i get a error message pairing unsuccessful  i have paired it ok with my Macbook AIr ok

If the mouse is paired with the Air, you will need to delete from there before it will pair wiht the mini.  Bluetooth devices may be only paired with one thing at a time.
