Z87-G45 hangs after clicking on OC Genie

For starters, I'm not IT techie guru, just a noob.
What happens is that after I click on the OC Genie button, the comp will hang as it boots up at the "STARTING WINDOWS" just before the 4 balls appear.
I hv set my comp to "OPTIMAL MODE" F6.
I used to have the Z77A-G43 & I just click on the OC Genie button & all was smooth.
Wonder why am I facing this issue now.
My setup
Intel i7-4770k 3.5ghz 8mb LGA1150
Z87-G45 Gaming mainboard
Windows7 Home Premium 64k
Corsair Vengeance 1600 16GB kit CL9 (2 x 8GB)
MSI GTX760 Twin Frozr Gaming 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E OC
Seasonic X-Series 750W Modular Gold PSU
Samsung  840 PRO SSD series
Appreciate if the experts here can help to guide me.
Tks & much appreciated

Did you uncheck Auto Restart so as to get the BSOD error code? That will tell what was needed to correct it.
Yes sifu I did before I started the movie

If the BIOS has the settting VDroop, set it to 100%. Also, enter the OC Section of the BIOS Sub Section 'CPU Features' and set all the power limits (w) to 255, Power Duration (s) to 60 or 128. Overspeed Protection set to disabled. Make sure EuP 2013 is disabled.
Ah~~~so~~~~~~ ok I will do this

  • SAP BW 640-----SAINT HANGS AFTER CLICKING START

    Hi Everybody,
We are on stack 9 on the source BW 640.  I am trying  to take the stack to 22 as a prerequirement for unicode conversion, and the upgrade to BI 7.0.
In this regard there is a dependency on PI_BASIS to be on 2005, and BI_CONT to be on 353.  Currently we are on PI_BASIS 2004, and BI_CONT 352 on the source.
We have extracted the appropriate installation packages for the above components.  When we run SAINT to install these components, and click START it just hangs.  It does not take me to the  next window.
At least SAINT used to take me to the next window after clicking start, but one change I did was to update the kernel to 221, saint was still hanging after clicking start, again updated the kernel to 274 which is the latest release for NW 2004.  I also have the latest version of R3Trans, and tp.  SAINT still hangs after clicking start button.  No  logs are getting generated in \usr\sap\trans\log.  No files are getting generated in \usr\sap\trans\tmp.
I restored the database to what it was before we initiated the SAINT process.  Still SAINT hangs after clicking start button.
In STMS-overviewu2014system-sap system-all the checks work fine(connection, transport directory, transport tool).  Likewise in SAINT-utilities-check-transport tool----every thing looks good.
Why is SAINT hanging after clicking start button, can we downgrade the kernel to what it was before (level 155).
    Any input is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Ramesh Srinivasan.

Thank you so very, very much.  We are currently using a 640 gui.  We tested with 710 gui and saint after clicking start does not hang.
So we are assuming that 710 gui will solve the problem.
Thanks once again.  A very timely help.  You bet I'll touch base with you if I run into issues.

  • 2.1.1 through 3.0EA - SQLDeveloper hangs after clicking on SQL tab of view

    Hi,
the following happens consistently both on SQL Developer 2.1.1.64 and 3.0.2.83 on Mac OS X and Java 1.6.0_22-b04-307 (64bit).
    1. I open a connection to an XE database
    2. I navigate to the Views node
    3. I select a view
    4. I click on the SQL sub-tab to display the DDL statement for the view
    5. As soon as i click on the tab to return to the SQL scratchpad for the open connection, the color wheel appears and SQL developer hangs and one must "force quit" the application.
As i said, this happens on both versions of SQL Developer
    Flavio

Then it is clearly an issue with the TabSet component...
A couple of related postings (but not for creator) i ran into seemed to have been solved by setting jdk to 1.4.2 (and sometimes it is the ant version that seems to have been the problem):

  • MSI Z87-G45 flashed bios 19 now Intel Management Engine doesnt work

I used the forum tool to flash the latest bios 1,19 for my Z87-g45 and after booting back into windows and reinstalling intel ME I have a yellow exclamation mark over the Intel ME Interface in device manager.
It says the device cant start and STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE
I tried installing the MS hotfix that comes with the latest Intel ME software on the MSI website but it doesnt install and says it isn't suitable for my computer when I run it.  I tried the 64bit first then the 32bit.

I fixed this by installing the older 1.18 using the built in mflash instead of the forum tool.
I don't know if it was the 1.19 version or the forum tool that stopped intel management engine working but selecting bios and intel me flash from the built in mflash worked.
I did worry when my computer shut down and restarted at 49% complete but upon starting again it showed a blank screen with flashing percentage for intel me in the middle starting around 50%.

  • Z87-G45 - my USB audio device doesn't up after booting. Need to USB cable unplug

I have new Z87-G45 with clear Windows 7, newest drivers and last bios but still have the same problem. I have Roland Quad-Capture USB audio interface but it doesn't up with Windows. USB LED on the device is not lit anytime from when I push power button till the system is up. The only way is to unplug the USB cable and plug it again. It is very irritable. Please help me to resolve this problem.

Below is the quote from Amazon website hope that it somehow helps, you could find it in the amazon feedback from other user:
I called Roland tech support who were very friendly and concerned. But what it boiled down to was that the Roland drivers do not interact very well with certain computers. Tech support did not know why. They just kept telling me to update my usb drivers, even though when I ran updates my drivers came up as the most current available. Now, I have an eMachines, Windows 7, 64 bit PC with 8 meg ram, and I know eMachines are not high end. But the computer is less than 2 years old, and seems to run fast and I have liked it. When I told tech support that my drivers came up current, he recommended that I contact the manufacturer. I don't know if you have ever tried to get tech support on a computer that is more than a year old. It's a joke, no one will help you unless you pay them almost enough to buy a new computer.
After more research, I found that many people had the same problem that I had. If they booted up their computer with the interface plugged in, they would run into all kinds of issues. The workaround is to always make sure your unit is unplugged before you boot up.

  • Z87-G45 Trouble

    Hi there,
Yesterday I finished my recent computer build.
    It is as follows:
    Z87-G45 Gaming Motherboard
    EVGA GTX 780
    Thermaltake 850 psu
    i7 4770k 3.5 cpu
    seagate 2tb hdd
    TridentX F3-2400c10d-16gtx G.Skill memory.
    Running Windows 7 x64
This is the most expensive build I've tried.. With intentions of OC'ing.  However, my machine will not OC.  I've researched it all day/night and now to the point of regretting going this route.
I've Tried OC Genie - When I go to reboot the machine will not restart. Instead I hear a beep and it gives me the prompt to press F1 to enter setup or F2 to restore defaults.
I've tried manually OC'ing - using the XMP for the DRAM. Changing the voltage as necessary.  Watched numerous Youtube videos and read numerous posts.  Still get the same result - beep and the choice of F1 or F2.
Only other issue is.. My computer is randomly freezing.  No pattern. Just here and there.
Any help is greatly appreciated.  Really bummed at the moment.
    Thanks,
    RSM

    Update:
Re-installed windows 7 x64 ultimate for the third time.  Now the freezing is more common. I can't even install drivers for the board before it hangs up and forces me to do a hard reset. I've switched the RAM in and out and in still getting the same result.
Msi doesn't recommend my ram with the z87-g45 but I've seen others with the same build and everything be fine.
    Any ideas?

  • Z87-G45 BIOS 1.2 Disables Intel Turbo Boost?

I just installed a new Z87-G45 with an i7-4770k. I installed BIOS 1.2 after getting the system running.
I wanted to test that the Intel Turbo Boost was working, so I went to download Intel's Turbo Monitor, but they helpfully let you know it isn't compatible with 4th generation I-series processors. So I downloaded the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, hoping it would show the CPU frequency live. It shows the CPU frequency at a constant 3.50Ghz, although I don't know if that means Turbo isn't working or the utility just doesn't do realtime frequency monitoring (but then why does it graph it?) The option to enable or disable Turbo Boost is grayed out in the ETU.
I went into OC in the BIOS to find the Turbo setting and make sure it was turned on... and found out there was no Turbo setting. Intel Turbo is not located where it is described in the user guide for this mobo. So I dug around the OC menu until I found OC->CPU Specifications->CPU Technology Support; that screen shows Intel Turbo Boost: N/A
I feel like there is something very wrong here. Anyone know what's going on?

Froggy: Yes, brought it over from a Gigabyte board with an i7-860 (I do a lot of video editing and moving from the 860 to the 4770k cut down the time it takes to render an effects heavy video by more than half! Getting turbo working shaved another few minutes off of the render time. For the video I used as a benchmark, the render time is down from 60 minutes to 24 minutes ) Honestly I don't remember if the Gigabyte board had AHCI enabled or not, but since Windows won't boot with it on now I'm guessing it wasn't on before.
Bernhard: There is a very simple registry change you can make in Windows 7 to enable AHCI: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922976?wa=wsignin1.0  I tried the Fix-It tool and manually verified the registry change, but it still isn't booting.
More specifically, the system hangs at the Windows logo. This also happens when trying to boot into safe mode. It always stops after loading the same file, which I looked up and found was an Avast file, but I tried uninstalling Avast and it just hangs after a different file. I installed the Intel chipset drivers that came with the motherboard (which appear to be the latest ones) but don't see any AHCI driver listed under device manager. There is an Intel Rapid Storage Technology download on the MSI page for this motherboard (http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z87-G45-GAMING.html) but it is for 7-series boards and won't install on my system (I'm not sure the RST driver is even what I need, as it seems more targeted towards RAID, but it came up searching AHCI). The latest RST driver from Intel's download page won't install either ("Platform not supported").
I can't find any other AHCI drivers on the MSI CD. I'm not sure whether they would even show up in the device manager while the mobo is in IDE mode, or only in AHCI mode. If you guys happen to know anything else I should install I'd appreciate it.

  • Z87-G45 Gaming not able to install Win7 x64 with Samsung 840 EVO

    I have a brand new:
    i5 4570
    MSI Z87-G45 Gaming
    250GB Samsung 840 EVO
    1x 8GB Corsair ValueRam DDR3 1600
I got everything hooked up properly, but I am not able to install Win7 x64 through an USB pen drive (Kingston Datatravel 32GB USB3) I have a proper  official and Legit MSDN ISO, formatted by the Win7 USB tool from MS itself.
Note that i do not have an optical device (DVD) installed so I cannot use it 'the old way'.
Bios settings are okay, everything is recognized
    USB Legacy - Kingston Datatraveler
HDD Legacy - Samsung 840 EVO
Win7 setup loads properly; but before I can select the Harddrive / SSD to install Win7 on I get prompted that additional (3rd party) drivers are needed to proceed. The volume is not recognized. This happens 9 out of 10 times. In the 10% cases I do get the option to format the SSD and/or create partitions. However, installation fails after all, cannot load or find file ...
    What I've tried so far:
Switch out the SATA cables and power cables
Switch through the various SATA ports on the MB 1 through 6
Tried UEFI and UEFI/Legacy (UEFI doesn't seem to work at all)
    Update UEFI to V 1.50
All the above result in the case mentioned.
I have succesfully installed the SSD in an other PC, using the same pen drive and ISO and it worked like a charme, thus ruling out that the SSD, pen drive or image is corrupt.
Even when I switched out the SSD after Win7 setup has succesfully copied, unpacked and installed all the files (doing this on the other machine where it works like a charm). Then switching it to the MSI Z87...it fails; starting the setup procedure right from the start, like nothing was ever written on the SSD...
Finally i turned to Win8, and guess what, it installed without any glitches on the MSI Z87
What am I missing here, I would really want to install Win7 instead of Win8
Forgot to enable / disable something in the UEFI? I really don't know, google doesn't give much information on this specific problem (SSD is recognized properly by the BIOS / UEFI as far as I can tell)
The only thing I have not tried out so far is updating the Samsung SSD firmware to the 1.0 version which has been release 3 days ago...
    Any clues, tips, hunches??

Quote from: Bernhard on 25-October-13, 18:33:41
Did you disable Secure Boot in the BIOS? If not, then Win7 won't load.
Hmmm not sure, thanks for the reply, will have to look into that later today!
I didn't change it from the default setting I think, unless it is part of the Win8 features in the UEFI. All where disabled by default, and I kept them disabled.
Where is Secure Boot listed in the UEFI, and any idea wether it is enabled by default?
    ::EDIT::
Found it in some screenshots, I cannot recall from the top of my head wether it was enabled or disabled, allthough my gutt feeling says it already is disabled.

  • Iphoto hangs after upgrading to Yosemite and latest iPhoto version

It tells me the library needs upgrading, and starts to search the library. The progress bar suggests something is happening then hangs after about 99% completion. I have had to force close twice after several hours stuck at that point and then start the whole process from scratch when I restart.

Have you followed these instructions - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/Help/rebuilding%20a%20corrupted%20iphoto%20li brary.html
iPhoto Library Manager > Help > Rebuilding a corrupted iPhoto library
    Printable help
    Rebuilding a corrupted iPhoto library
If you have an iPhoto library that is corrupt and causing iPhoto to crash or otherwise be unusable, iPhoto Library Manager provides the ability to rebuild your library based on the information found in its library data files. Note that iPhoto also has a built-in rebuild function that can be sometimes be used to repair a corrupted library database. You can find instructions on how to use that on Apple's website at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2638 (iPhoto 6 or later) or http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2042 (iPhoto 5 or earlier).
iPhoto Library Manager's rebuild works differently, in that instead of trying to repair the library in place, it creates a brand new library and tries to reimport the entire contents of the original library into the new one, including reconstructing albums, photo metadata, etc. Note that rebuilding a library has all the same limitations as other photo transfer operations as far as what can and can't be copied between libraries. Also, depending on how badly damaged the library is, iPhoto Library Manager may or may not be able to piece together some or all of the library metadata.
To start a rebuild, select the library you would like to rebuild, then choose the "Rebuild Library" item from the "Library" menu. You will be prompted to choose a location for the rebuilt library, and whether or not you want iPLM to scavenge orphaned photos it finds in the library package. Once you've made your choices, iPLM will examine the library and rebuild the library structure and photos as best it can, then display you a preview of what it was able to find. If your library is badly damaged and the preview is missing a lot of content from the original library, this can save you from going through with a rebuild that won’t end up being of much help.
Once you've had a chance to examine the preview, if you want to go forward and create the rebuilt library, click the "Rebuild" button in the upper right. iPhoto Library Manager will create a new library and start importing the contents of the original library into the new one.
    Scavenging photos
In some cases, either the iPhoto library database is too damaged for iPhoto Library Manager to be able to salvage any information from it, or the library data is incomplete and there are photos that still exist inside the library package, but iPhoto has lost track of them. In these cases, you may want to check the "Scavenge orphaned photos" checkbox when choosing a location for the rebuilt library. After iPhoto Library Manager has read the library data as best it can, it will perform an additional pass through the package and locate any photos that are no longer referenced in the library database. Any additional photos that are found will be included in the rebuild, and a new "Scavenged Photos" album will be created in the rebuilt library containing any scavenged photos.
