Z87-G45 - need some way to control fans

Hi, I have a set of Scythe Ultra Kaze fans that need some controlling, and my MSI board just isn't doing it. I know that the prefered method of fan control is through PWM fans (well after a few hours of googling I found this out) but I'm hoping that there is still some way to use this motherboard (through either software or bios) to control my 3 pin fans. I don't care for automation or anything like that, I just need to set my fans at around 50-60% power so that the noise isn't too bothersome.
I've tried getting speedfan to work and no luck, I've also tried the command center with no luck. I don't want to get a fan controller unless it can be tucked away behind my motherboard simply because I don't want the aesthetics of my PC to go down the drain with either a fan controller in the back panel or the front panel. Plus, spending extra money to do something all my other motherboards have been able to do so far is just annoying.

Fan controllers nowdays can be quite pleasing to the eye, and that would be my recommendation as being the ultimate solution. Some report that by not using the mainboard fan headers at all also extends the life of the boards. Not sure if that is fact or fiction though.

I am using QTP 9.2 and Flex 3 add-in available from Adobe.
My application has flex Advanced datagrid object and I am
trying to read column names for the datagrid.
I have contacted developers and they told me that column
names for flex advanced datagrid are stored in "Header Text"

Z87-G45 and SOME USB 3.0 ports not appearing in tray/prompting to eject

The 2 lowest USB 3.0 ports on the back panel (Nearest the sound connectors) of my G45 have a weird issue under Win 7 Ultimate. When I plug in a 2.0 drive into those ports, everything is normal i.e. the eject icon and eject warning appear in the tray as usual. However, when I plug in 3.0 drives, no icon or warning appear, but they're fully accessible through explorer etc. USBView reports they're running at full speed, so they're being identified correctly. These 3.0 drives have all the proper messages/icons in all the other ports, including the 2.0 ports where it even warns me that it can perform faster in a 3.0 port. I've tried all the older/latest drivers from Intel and MSI. And ideas or suggestions? Just trying to figure out if my board has a problem or not. Thanks!

Do you just mean they aren't treated as removable drives?
There was an issue that was resolved via bios update similar to this.
Might want to try upgrading to the latest.

Well, I recently acquired a new Logitech Wireless USB mouse, mainly for use with my Powerbook running Tiger. I currently have the USB reciever attached to my Keyboard, with I use for both the Powerbook and my 400mhz Sawtooth G4. Under OS 9, the G4 won't do a "right click" as I had assumed. I eventually realized that the reason I thought OS 9 had built-in 2 button mouse support was because I always used a 2-button Microsoft Mouse with my Macs running OS 9 - complete with the Microsoft driver. So, now I need some way to enable the right button to function as such....
Is there any way to map modifier keys (eg, control+click) to mouse buttons under OS 9, or do I need third-party software?

Logitech seems to have Mac OS 9 drivers for their cordless mouse.

And no, Mac OS 9 does not have built-in support for the "right click."

Controlling fans with Core Center?

I feel such a fool, but I can't see any way of controlling fan speeds with MSI's Core Center?
The centre panel listss the CPU/NB temperature and fan speeds... if I click on the red arrow to the side of that, the extra panel that slides out simply gives me options on when the alarms should sound, based on either temperature or fan speed.
Am I meant to increase the fan speed by raising the minimum fan speed alarm threshold? Not only is that a daft way of doing it, but it doesn't seem to have any effect...?

While I dunno about your mbrd, the NB fans on a couple of MSI mbrds I've played with are just not really speed controllable. With Speedfan, I can reduce the speed but below 90% or so, the fan starts to stall and then oscillates between nearly stopped and its max speed. I have mine, on a K8N Neo2 Plat set to max speed of 95% and min of 90%, which reduces the noise a touch.
If it's getting noisy and looking like failing, email MSI tech support and tell 'em it's failing and you're experiencing hangs and reboots. I had two mbrds I reported like this, which were behaving badly, and they sent me 3 new heatsink/fans. Those new fans run a bit slower, max of ~6Krpm, and are smoother running. If you do this, it's a good idea to register the mbrd with them and then in your email, give the serial no and your postal address. I had my new fans in a week or so, with no hassle or telephone calls at all.

Overclocking Help .... MSI Z87 G45 with i5 4670k

Hi guys first of all i want to say MSI ROCKS!!!!!....
Purchased my first ever MSI motherboard and very satisfied from it ..... the looks are killer and now i want to see if its killer in OC as well ....
My specs are as follows:
MSI Z87 G45 (bios version 1.7)
Core i5 4670k
GSKILL Rip Jaws 8gb (4x2) 2133 mhz (but running at 1600)
Sapphire R9 290 TRI-X OC 4GB
Corsair GS800 800 watts psu....
Now my goal is to get safest OC around 4.2 - 4.4 ghz with minimal voltage and fully stable ..... its my first time with K series processor and there are just so many settings in the BIOS .... I know how to change the multiplier and CPU voltage and i tried doing 4.4 ghz @ 1.15 but it wasn't stable in AIDA64 stress test .... so help me oh the mighty overclockers :D .... Screenshots of bios settings would be highly appreciated ....

Using Cooler Master Hyper 212+ with it with dual fans .... I did some overclocking on my own today (saw some OC screeshots of bios of Z87 G45 by some people) ...... 4.3 GHZ @ 1.15 voltage (but CPU-Z and AIDA 64 both showing 1.224) ...... Did 2 hours testing of Aida-64 stability and maximum temp i reached was 69c on one core and 65c TJ .... I couldn't boot into windows on the same settings @ 4.4 ghz ..... here are the screenshots of my OC profile .....

Need some help with Apache vhost. Access a server on network.

Not sure if this can be done. But here is my case:
Me and my colleague is writing some database applications for out employer. And this server runs Apache, PHP and MySQL.
We want to be able to access different vhosts using just the post after the server local IP-address. (I.e., 10.0.2.242:8080).
Because we want to use the same server for different projects, but we need some way to split this. And so far, a port name is the best.
Another way would be to use the DNS server, and redirect any request for example.com to that particular server. but since we have started to use OpenDNS, that can't be done.
My question is, can't this be achived? If I type 10.0.2.242:8080, i can be directed to /srv/http/test_vhost, where /srv/http is the server root.
Any reply is much apprecited. Since I could find an answear on Google.

It can screw you up because it *always* returns an IP address, which isn't so bad for web browsing, but when you're trying to do (or diagnose!) other things it can really screw with you.

Z87-G45 Fan Connection Questions

I wanted to ask about connecting my Corsair liquid cooler. I'm using 2 radiator fans in a push-pull config, plus the cooler itself needs power. The Z87-G45 has 2 cpu fan connectors.
My first question is am I going to get fan control from this mobo? All my fans and cooler cables are 3-pin. I was given the impression that you might need 4-pin fans for variable fan speed control. Is that true?
If I am somehow going to get fan control from the mobo, I'd appreciate some advice on what goes where. Should I hook up the cooler power and one of the radiator fans to the CPU fan connectors and then the other radiator fan to a sys fan connector? Or would it better to have the cooler power on a sys fan connector? Better yet, is it safe to use a Y-connector for both of the radiator fans. I can't get a clear read on whether or not there is enough power for that and also whether it might screw up the BIOS readings for fan control (if that's a factor). I'm also one connector short for all the fans I want to run, so a Y-connector would be ideal. The 2 radiator fans are identical (Corsair AF120 - 12v/0.40a). I've read people write they *think* the max amp for each connector is 1.0, but I can't find anything definitive (it's not in manual).
If you're confident about any of this, I would appreciate your advice.

I did a double-check, and the Corsair fans are 3 pin. It's a shame; I wish I had studied this b4 I bought them. They are the loudest fans in my system. 4 pin fans, surprisingly, still seem to be very much the exception. Doing a search on Newegg for 4 pin fans, most of them, where I could see a picture of the plug, were of the old power supply molex variety.
Am I right to believe that the fan control for the CPU fan headers would be based on the CPU temp and the Sys fan headers would be based on either the mobo temp or the general temp of the air in the case? That will confirm for me if it's a bad idea to hook up the radiator fans to the Sys fan headers.

Flash is not supported on the iPad - and as Adobe have never managed to make a version of their flash player that works on iOS devices, and they have recently announced that they are stopping development on all mobile versions of it, it probably never will be
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store.

There are differences.
It most certainly will not work if it uses MS's version of JNI. There were also other Java API differences as well.
Note to mention that you probably need a 1.1.4 version of the Sun VM before attempting this, since there have been changes in the Jave API since then as well.
However it is probably doing nothing more than using the version string. Changing that should be possible if you know how to use a hex editor and you are careful.

The designer is usually someone who just handles the user interface portion of the code. The developer would handle core functionality. I assumed you were the developer and the designer was the designer. You are the client and your "designer" is the developer.
Ideally, you should create a business account so that you can add someone to your team. That is the way it is supposed to work. Otherwise, you will have to ask for the final source code so that you can build and submit the app yourself. You should always have the source code regardless. You should always perform the submission under your own account too. Otherwise, it is the developer's app, not yours.
Sharing accounts is against the Apple Developer agreement anyway. The App Store Gold Rush is over. Now it is mostly zombie apps and competing fraudsters. You don't want to give someone access to your iTunes account. You really don't want to give someone access to your bank account either.
The best solution would be to convert your account to a business account. You may be able to have the developer submit the app and then transfer it to you.

Hi, I need some help understanding the way materialized views are applied through adpatch.
In patch 1, we have a mv with build mode immediate. When applying it PTS hang due to pool performance of mv refresh.
So we provide patch 2, with that mv build mode deferred, hoping it'll go through. But patch 2 hang too on the same mv.
How does this work? Is that because mv already exists in the database with build immediate, patch 2 will force it to refresh first before changing build mode? How to get over this?

This happens at customer environment but not reproducable in our internal environment, as our testing data is much smaller.
Taking closer look in the logs, I saw actually when applying both patch 1 and patch 2, MV doesn't exist in the database. So seems my previous assumption is wrong. Still, strange that patch 2 contains only one file which is the MV.xdf, it took 7 hours and finally got killed.
