Z87 GD45 Network issues/some sites loading slowly

Hi, I've just built a new system with a MSI Z87 GD45 and i5 4670k. Everything is running great, but certain websites load slowly.
Microsoft has been the worst so far. At first the page I need would sometimes not load all the assets, and then it would load the site fine, but the downloads are ALWAYS unbearably slow. I had to get the .NET 4.5 framework because my AMD catalyst drivers were stopping on that process, but downloading from microsoft was under 1KB/s. I ended up having to download the .NET framework through a torrent, because every other site just mirrored microsofts link.
Other websites are intermittently loading very slowly or just a little bit slower than they should.
I have a 100Mbit fiber connection that consistently gets between 110 and 116MbitDL and 2.3-2.5Mbit UL on speedtest.net from my local server. When I say some sites are loading slow, I mean slower than 56k, not slow relative to my normal fast speeds. My last computer using realtek eNIC and my room mates computer using a broadcomm eNIC has no such issues.
What I have tried so far:
Downloaded the latest killer E2200 drivers and removal utility.
Removed old drivers, rebooted.
Run removal utility, rebooted.
Installed new drivers, rebooted.
Tried with Atheros Killer application manager enabled (default) and disabled.
My system consists of:
MSI z87 GD45
Core i5 4670k (stock)
GEIL Evo veloce 16GB (2x8GB) 1866 (XMP)
Gigabyte HD7950 3GB windforce (from my old computer)
Seasonic 660w Platinum PSU in hybrid fan mode (in stress testing the fan has never switched on)
Sandisk Extreme II 240GB SSD
WD 3TB green HDD
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
The system has otherwise been completely stable and runs cool in stress testing (prime95 and furmark).
The only other issue(s) is that there is no driver installed for the PCI Simple communications Controller and two other Unknown Devices in the Device manager. I installed the chipset, LAN and audio drivers and then the intel USB3 driver. On reboot, nothing using USB worked, including my mouse and keyboard, so I rebooted in safe mode and removed the driver... now everything works. Should I perhaps look for a newer version of this driver. I can't see how that's related to my internet speed issue though...
Back to the problem, right now I'm downloading microsoft security essentials at 4KB/s which is the fastest it has gone so far. Before that I downloaded a game from steam at 8-12MB/s..... why is microsofts site so consistently slow on my system?

Hi Andrew86,
It's obvious you just made a typo. Here is one topic regarding internet with the 45 : https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=170539.0
This seemed to be a solution

yesterday I got a bluescreen. i had those 3 times that week. On the log it said it was because of the killer network card.
Too fix this I went to "msconfig' then the tab services. And check off "Qualcomm Atheros killer Service",
And under boot I disabled KillerNetManager. Wiorked for me so far.

  • Issue with site load time when exported as HTML. Addressed?

Has the issue with website load time been addressed?
I believe the site attempts to load the entire image content at the initial visit - meaning any galleries with numerous pictures are all included when first getting to the site. This is causing a HUGE increase in load time. I was told when I last brought it up that it was an apparent issue that needed to be addressed.
    Any type of resolution coming?
    Site for reference: www.dkrecollection.com

Major updates of Muse are targeted to release roughly every quarter. The 1.0 release was in mid-May. The 2.0 release was in mid-August. A fundamental change to image loading would only appear as part of a major update due to the engineering and testing efforts required.
As provided in your previous thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/4659347#4659347 the only workaround until then is to reduce the number of images in the slideshow.

  • Why is my site loading slowly?

I'm curious. I have high speed, and my site loads quickly for me, although, it does take a few seconds as things appear, like the background, headings, etc. Is this normal? Some others are saying that it's VERY slow for them, so it's gotta be bad for non high speed internet users.
What causes this, and how can I help it? I changed my background, which was something I "painted" in Painter IX, and tweaked in Photoshop, then I optimized it for the web, which made it a GIF. I figured that would help a lot, but it seems to have made it a tad slower, actually. Weird. Even my images are all downsized in the "downsize" program. Can't figure out what would be causing it to be so slow!

    Hi Tami
Here are some of the backgrounds and images you are using on your pages, and their sizes:
    http://www.heartdogstudios.com/heartdogstudios/Homefiles/backgroundimage1.png 850K
    http://www.heartdogstudios.com/heartdogstudios/About%20Me_files/Biophoto-filtere d.png 446K
    http://www.heartdogstudios.com/heartdogstudios/Images/background.gif 319K
    http://www.heartdogstudios.com/heartdogstudios/Photographyfiles/backgroundimage1.png 479K
It's these that are causing the problem.
If you've already optimised the images, then once you drag them into iWeb, don't apply any effects within iWeb itself, otherwise you will turn it into a png again upon publish.

  • Site loading slowly in browsers

Hi, I've created this site in iWeb 3.0.2. It's loading slowly, and even more so when on AOL. I have a lot of images per page, and try to keep them small. I'd appreciate any feedback on how to improve the loading speed in all browsers. Thanks for your help!
    http://www.goodlifegear.us

You have a lot of images that are PNGs. The total file size is large and is compounded by your use of frames.
Try adding the frames before importing into iWeb and load them as JPEGs.
Using an Optimizer application will also dramatically speed up the download of your pages.

    This may help too....

  • IWeb site loading slowly?

Hi! My iWeb site loads really slow. I think it's because iWeb converts all the images to PNG. How can I make my site load faster?
    ~Matt

PNGs load really fast, they are the smallest and highest quality images.
Do you have a link to the site, it will allow us to see it and figure out what is slowing it down.

  • Having An Issue With Site Loading In Firebox

    Hello,
I'm having a small issue that I could use some help with. I'm not really sure what is going on, but I'm having an issue with one of the pages from my site not loading when trying to view the page in Firefox. But if I load this page in Safari or Chrome, it loads just fine.
Here's the page URL to take a look: <!-- deleted ~J99-->
Specific link removed from display by moderator ~J99 <sitename>.com/top-10/top...services/
<!-- thread now solved, link removed -->
Any idea on why this could be happening or how to fix it? I'm not sure if it's just my computer, or if others are having the same issue.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

    Hello Mike,
I have no problem loading and seeing the page <site>.com/top-10/...monitoring-services . General advice would be to try clearing cache and site cookies on the machine you are using.
*see [[Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can]]
I imagine you will have easy access to other machines on which you can test with Firefox so hopefully you will be able to test and demonstrate that the page does normally load on Firefox.
Website design is outside the scope of this forum, but you probably have a professional team working on that.

  • Issues with Edge loading slowly and Not filling its space until loaded

I am in the last stages of wrapping up a new website and have a nice Edge Animation slated for the top of the home page. The content, which includes a poster is published. However, when the page loads there is a lag before the animation fills its designated spot.
I tried using a preloader but then the entire content of the animation appeared behind the other content - making matters much worse.
In order to reserve a spot I tried creating another div with a background image as a placeholder, but because this content is responsive horizontally and vertically the placeholder locks the content into a predefined space and is not properly responsive.
I optimized the content to cut down on load time (not sure why Edge doesn't do the optimizing), but it is still not enough to resolve this issue. I would really appreciate some insights.
    Thanks.

I think it is fairly safe to say that I have been completely ignored on this one.

  • Issues with site load time. (bg images)

    Hey, guys.
Having an issue with a site uploaded with MUSE. None of the images are overly large, but the load time is 5 to 6 seconds where it should be instant.
Looking at it, it appears as though all of the images are attempting to load simotaneously in one large chunk rather than in a line.  Is there anyway to remedy this?

This isn't related to background images. It's how Muse is handling the loading of the ~100 images in the slideshow. Thanks for pointing this out. Until we have altered the loading method for these images, the only workaround I have is to decrease the number of images in the slideshow.

  • Why won't some sites load since I've downloaded firefox 5?

Earlier today I was prompted to upgrade from my usual Firefox 4 to a newer version; Firefox5.It read that certain conduit engines would be disabled for the download, but would then be enabled again. I have cleared my cache & cookie history(as per your suggestion) however my husband's favorite web site: play poker for free/free poker as well as others aren't working. Ex. when he logs into the site, and the page that comes up looks weird and it will not allow him to access the tables page from which he chooses which ones he wants to play.
When I pulled up Firefox 5, a full page list popped up of sites, add-on, & numerous other things that were incompatible with Firefox 4 and thus all were disabled. Also Firefox 5 only appears in my add/remove program list.(there's no icon for it), so I'm actually signing on w/ Firefox 4 as always. However when I started to remove Firefox 5, it advised that Firefox 4 would be uninstalled?!?!? This unacceptable. Though I've enjoyed Firefox for the 4 years I've had it, if real help can't be provided soon I'll just have to use one of the many other browsers, (3 of which I already have installed.
I appreciate your time and any assistance that can be provided.................Linda Long (Longlimbs)

That is very strange, as I don't think Firefox 5 has been released yet, much less been pushed for updates. Maybe it was an unofficial teaser...
I think you probably do want to remove Firefox 5 and reinstall Firefox 4.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere '''outside''' of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, download and save Firefox 4 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/
Close Firefox 5 and uninstall. On the first try, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Next, run the Firefox 4 installer. Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 4 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, you may need to re-do the process and remove your settings. You can at least recover your bookmarks and any saved passwords from the backup you made in the first step. See: [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile Recovering important data from an old profile].
    Hope that helps.

  • MSI z87-G45 network issue

    Howdy.
I've recently started using Powerline networking. Its pretty awesome, but every so often my connection drops. If i look at the powerline plug, all the lights are still on, but when i look at the network port none of the LEDs are on. Sometimes it comes back by itself, most of the time i either need to remove the cable and plug it in from the back of the NIC, or as i have a ssd its quicker to restart the computer. I'm using Killer e2200 Gigabit Ethernet Controller driver version 8.0.2.42 . I also tried the other method mentioned here about using killer cleaner and only installing the drivers but not the application package, but it happened then too.

Have you tried a different lan cable?
well it just happened there. I got it wrong though, the NIC leds were on, and it looked like it was recieving data, but windows said it was connected to an unidentified network. Next time it happens i'll see if i can test it with my partners laptop, and see if its the network, powerline or cable

  • Web sites loading very, very slowly.

On both the iMac and the PowerBook, web sites (like my Apple start page) load painfully slowly. On the iPhone 2, however, there's no problem — all use the Extreme/Express wireless system in the house. This has happened before — what would cause this? BTW, a download test routinely indicates almost 9 MG.

No change regarding history and cache (though I don't know what tmp. files are). Some sites load in a flash — others stall (though sometimes they have no problem). Bumping the start does help. The DSL modem has been reset. I don't know what else to try. Not running anything new or different. This has been a very fast machine — until now. BTW, I just remembered that this may be associated with a number of unusual Safari crashes (reported to Apple).

  • Just upgraded to OS X Lion.  Now Safari behaves erratically.  Some sights load at lightning speeds, other load painfully slow or not at all.  Any ideas here?

Just upgraded to OS X Lion.  Now Safari behaves erratically.  Some sites load at lightning speeds I have never seen before, others load painfully slow or not at all.  Any ideas here?

I would recommend running Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility) and Repairing Disk Permissions. Please run this at least 2x. It that doesn't help then post back, there are many other things to try.

  • Since update, various sites load very slowly and some do not load until "Reload Current Page" is clicked several times.

Since Firefox update (6.0.2) many sites load very slowly and some do not load at all (green circle rotates infinitely) until "Reload Current Page" is clicked on 2 to 12 times.
Returned to version 5. No more slow load.
Automatically re-updated me to 6.0.2 and now slow again.
Returned to FF 5 again and turned off automatic update.
Downloaded 7.0.1 and the problem seems to be solved.

Same here, only that updating to 7.0 or 7.0.1 doesn't seem to solve this issue. Seems to have something to do with loading images (e.g: adobe.com stops loading when "wwwimages.adobe.com" is being loaded. imdb.com, on the other hand, seems to load images very slowly and not all of them).
Safe-mode. disabling add-ons, clearing cache and cookies and checking for malware doesn't help.

  • "Error loading media. File Could not be played"  when trying to view streaming media on only some sites.  How to fix?

    Hi!
I've been having a problem trying to view streaming media, but it only happens on some sites.  It's similar to a problem I have on my Windows PC, that's related to Adobe Flash, but since I'm very new to using my iPad Mini, I don't even know if Apple devices have Flash...do they?
Anyway, when I go to a site that's plagued by this issue, I tap the 'Play' arrow on my screen & the circle spins like it's gonna play, but then the screen turns black & this error message appears:
"Error loading media. File Could not be played"  followed by a triangle with an exclamation point !
I read several articles online & the solutions ran from updating firmware in their router, (mine is brand new...installed last Thursday), to disabling ad-block programs in their browsers...(I don't have any enabled), and the last one was making changes to the DNS...(I know it means 'domain name server', but I don't have the foggiest idea how to make changes to it!
Anyway, that's my problem.  I hope that someone out there knows what I can do to fix it!
Thanks in advance for your help.

I would assume an issue with the HTML5 media player.
If those aren't working on Windows then it is possible that the proper codecs aren't installed.
You can try to disable the HTML5 media player and make Firefox use the Flash plugin.
You can do this by setting these two prefs to false on the <b>about:config</b> page:
    *media.windows-media-foundation.enabled
    *media.directshow.enabled
