Z87 Mpower (post-code A0 or AD or AO??)

Good day!
Tell me, please, which means a combination of A0 (or AO or AD?) mainboard post-code screen?
OS (Win 7 64 ult) booting correctly.
It's okay, or worry? Google did not help to find a definitive answer.
Thank you!

Many thanks for the quick reply!
I duplicated my question to MSI support team.
Quote their response:
"Regarding your concern, the post code means the MB is detecting the devices installed, please don't worry about it. Thanks!
Thanks for your cooperation in advance!

  • Z77 Mpower - post code question

I'm new to PC building and just completed my build yesterday.  Everything appears to be working fine but I noticed that while running, the debug LED display moves between
36 and 37.  I'm not sure I understand the table that lists the codes so, wanted to reach out to the experts as to what this could be.
One more question.  If everything is normal, should the LED display anything at all?
Thanks very much for your time and assistance.

It displays the current CPU temperature
Great, thanks very much for the quick response.  Glad there isn't anything wrong, I thought I had messed something up the board.

  • Z87-G41 gives no video signal; no POST code

    Hello.
I finished putting together my third build yesterday using a Z87-G41 and have run into a problem I've never experienced and haven't been able to find a solution online yet.
    My problem:
With all components plugged into the motherboard/power (no GPU), I do not receive a video signal. I have tried both the VGA and DVI slots. I have tried multiple monitors. I have also tried using my GPU just to see. Same result all around.
In an attempt to get a POST code, I took everything out and started the process of elimination. The only code I get is bad/no RAM when none is plugged in. It of course ceases when I put it back in. I have tried multiple brands. All RAM is DDR3.
I will add that all components are out-of-the-box new except for my RAM/PSU, but they are also relatively new. I have tried another PSU just to see; same issue.
I have checked the CPU socket for bent/missing pins, but everything looks fine. I'm no expert, though.
I'd appreciate any help on this issue. Like I said, I've found info on this issue online, but all the solutions are really obvious stuff (using the wrong video port, etc.). No solution for me yet.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Am also facing same issue, my monitor has only VGA port and mpower max mobo has only HDMI (o/p port)so bought one VGA to HDMI converter cable(supports 1080pi). When i connected it to the motherboard HDMI port it didn't display anything on monitor , but when i connect my old nvidia dedicated GPU(nvidia geforce 7200 gs ) the monitor is working fine. I noticed same thing as ozzy, the LED debug light shows AE for few seconds and then turns to AO and system remains running but no signal on monitor.
I also enabled iGPU in BIOS and changed cable to mobo from dedicated GPU(tried even after removing dedicated GPU), then too ist not working. Am i missing anything here ?? Please help.

  • [Z87 MPOWER] Monitor doesn't detect Video. LED-POST switches between numbers

    Hey folks!
I build my first PC yesterday and sadly I came over a seemingly unsolvable problem. I made a test-run with the Motherboard on the box, GPU, PGU, RAM, CPU+Cooler. I started it and everything worked fine, but the Monitor doesn't detect graphic input! It detects the cable I uses (HDMI and AVG) AND that I plugged it into a PC, but it just switches into sleeping mode as soon as I start the PC! (The Monitor works fine on my laptop).
Now I removed the GPU and used the onboard graphics with HDMI connection - the same problem! Now, I only have one 8GB-RAM stick, and I switched it between all 4 slots just to be sure - nothing. I double-checked the two PGU cables I have connected (8pin and 24pin ATX) - everything seems fine!
I just can't find the problem and its driving me insane! The only thing that says that something might be wrong is this little LED thing on the mb, it switches between 10 / 19 / 15(I think, its to fast to see!) / 55 endless! That's definitely not normal is it?
Is someone able to help me? I don't want anything more right now than getting this  working.
    SPECS:
    CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI Z87 MPOWER ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
    RAM: Kingston 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Asus GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card
PGU: SeaSonic 520W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Also if nothing works, can someone tell me what part might be the fault, so I can switch it in?
    THANK YOU!

You may be able to repair this.
Remove the cpu and inspect the socket with a bright light and magnifier.
Fine the culprit pin and straighten it if possible. If not just RMA the board.

  • MOVED: MSI Z97 MPower Max AC(no post code)

This topic has been moved to MSI Intel boards.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=254135.0

I spend over 40 min trying to see if there any bend pins on socket. Socket dont have band pins. When i turn on motherboard on table, no post code just fan works. Also, i see when i turn off mobo led light around battery socket starts blinking and i cant turn it on again, i must unplug power supply and put it back and start mobo again.
Tryd both bios, clear cmos, battery out for 1 hour unpluged for power supply. Some one have idea whats going on with this mobo?

  • Z87 Mpower SP : BIOS A is dead or can be saved??

    Hi guys,
I accidentally did a failed flashing and caused my board doesn't wanna boot to post but all LEDs, fans on CPU and card are working only blackscreen on monitor and there is no LED show up on Debug LED. I use MSI Z87 Mpower SP with BIOS A (damaged) and BIOS B (working normal).
I already did a recovery way that xmad have said before while I used MSI Z77A-GD80 (dual BIOS) and it was working at that time but now with Z87 Mpower SP (dual BIOS) it won't work, I use MSI HQ Forum USB flasher btw when I did failed flashing I was using M-flash after finished mainboard was turn off it self, then I did CLEAR CMOS ... after that I powered up PC and it turned out to begin flashing ME .
The process with MSI HQ Forum USB flashing Tool is normal but when it is done I do a clear-CMOS and power up PC still debug LED is not showing anything although mainboard is power up (all fans, card, LEDs are on)
So is the BIOS A dead?? Or can be saved?
    Btw I use i5 4430, Gskill ARES 2x4G GBA 2133MHz CL9 1.64v, WD Black 500G SATA3, Corsair HX750 & MSI GTX780 Lightning with windows 7 x64 SP1.
Note : Now I use BIOS V1.6 on BIOS B, before this BIOS A is V1.7 and I wanna tried to downgrade BIOS to V1.5.
One last thing I did flash with 4G USB FD with FAT formatted, is it OK? Next I will try to use FAT32 on my TOSHIBA 16G USB3.0.

You needed special archives to allow fpt flashing, else forum tool won't work.
    >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<
A.) Download the attached archive and place it on your desktop. Do not decompress.
B.) Download and install the Forum flash tool.
C.) Insert your FAT32 formatted usb stick.
D.) Make sure that all win 8 options are disabled. (Fast Boot etc) Also make sure the legacy USB is enabled.
E.) Start the forum flash tool and select option 1. Then point the tool at the compressed archive we downloaded earlier. Then to your USB Flash Drive.
F.) Boot to the USB from working bios B.
G.) Once it booted successfully switch to bios A without powering down or rebooting
H.) Now follow the directions and let the tool flash bios A with desired version

  • MSI z87 MPOWER MAX Compatibility Question

Hi I own the z87 MPOWER MAX motherboard and have recently been receiving blue screens while playing games ~10mins in.
Not sure what the problem is at this point, but I had a look through the VGA Support and Memory support sections as stated on the support section of MSI's page
And have found that my graphics card (GTX 590) and my RAM Corsair Vengeance CMZ16GX3M2A1866C9 isnt on the list. Would this be an issue?
    Please let me know,
    Thanks!

Both components should work fine considering compatibility. What other components are in use? >>Posting Guide<<
Thanks for the reply, I figured out the problem. A friend of mine installed League of Legends on my computer and it installed some drivers which ive uninstalled and it seems to have solved the problem.
Sorry for not abiding by the posting guide, just needed a simple yes or no as to the compatability of my parts with my mobo.
    Thanks for your help!

  • MSI Z87 MPOWER Not displaying through Videocard

I cant seem to get my motherboard to recognize and display through my graphics card. I have a MSI N770 Lightning GeForce GTX 770 which light up and seems to be getting enough power but never displays anything to the monitor. I have tried the card in a friends desktop and it ran just fine which leads me to think its the board causing the issue. My Specs are as follows.
PSU: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W
    Mobo: MSI Z87 MPOWER
CPU:  Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell 3.5GHz LGA 1150
    RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3
    OS: Windows 8 Pro 64-bit
    SSD: OCZ Vertex 4 VTX4-25SAT3-128G
HD: Western Digital WD Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM
    CASE: Corsair Vengeance Series C70
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have already tried switching out the PSU with a more powerful unit (850w) to no avail. Everything runs fine though while running my friends GeForce GTX 560 Ti .

I don't believe any pins where bent during socketing, and I really don't want to mess with that unless I absolutely have to. It runs perfectly fine with my friends older card. I just installed a higher wattage power supply (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139034. Re-installed the card and attempted to boot up, which sadly it failed to to post and showing d6 on the mobo with the new card installed and hooked up correctly.
Could there be a compatibility error between the card and the board? Like I said the card ran well in my friends rig (comparable to mine just using a different mobo), The machine runs fine with the older (http://us.msi.com/product/vga/N560GTX-Ti-Twin-Frozr-II-OC.html card installed. But Never displays anything or gives signal to the monitor.

  • MSI Z87 Mpower 1150 / 780 lightning x2?

I wanted to know if the Z87 Mpower 1150 board will hold two MSI GTX 780 Lightning cards with the reactors on them still.  They kinda take up three slots so I am unsure.  I wanted two lightning cards for my new build but I am unsure if the two lightnings will fit for SLI.  Thank you for your time I appreciate the help.  It would not let me post any external links, let me know if you have any questions or need any more info.
    Thank you!!

Yes, but since you are spending the money you may want to look to a board that will run the cards at 16x each?
The one you have picked will run two cards at 8x / 8x
    http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z87-XPOWER.html#download
    5x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots (PCI_E1, PCI_E2, PCI_E3, PCI_E5, PCI_E7)*
    The operating mode will be x0/ x16/ x0/ x0/ x0, x16/ x0/ x0/ x16/
    x0, x8/ x0/ x8/ x16/ x0 or x8/ x0/ x8/ x8/ x8.*
Support for installing up to 4 PCIe x16 expansion
This board will allow more space between the cards and 16x /16x operation.. If going for overkill, might want to go all the way

  • MSI Z87 Mpower MAX Internet Issue

    Hello guys!
About a week ago Ive got the MSI z87 Mpower MAX for my new build.
However, I had some stranges issues with my internet rooter. He restart almost every hour, aleatory!!!!! Only with this pc (I have another one and it works fine)
So, I changed the rooter for a brand new one, and the same problem persist, only with the mpower max... Its not always, but 7-10 times in day my rooter restart if its plugged on my mobo.
Idk where start to solve this...
Im using the Windows 8 Pro version, with Avira Internet Security.
    Can anyone help me? :(

Also it is obviously impossible to help you with just the board model and the info that you have an "issue"... Add full specs and proper description of the issue:  Follow >>Posting Guide<<

  • Z87 Mpower Max

Having issues not being able to adjust my CPU ratio for my 4770K through bios (currently running 1.2B8). Does not allow me to change my setting from 'auto' to 'manual'. Seems to be locked. Although, I can change the CPU multipliers through MSI Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and overclock from there with no problems getting 4.5ghz at 1.2 vcore.
Also, for those who have the Z87 Mpower Max, does the debug code not show temperatures like the Z77 mpower anymore? At the moment, mine only shows the debug code(s).

Is there a reason why I can overclock better and significantly have better temperatures with 1 stick of ram compared to 2 (dual channel mode)?
Just by going dual channel mode, my temperatures automatically go up by 20-30C under load and it gets even worse as I raise my vcore. Where as if I go single channel, I can throw a good amount of vcore and the temperatures will slowly progress. For example, if I use 1 stick of ram, I can easily attain 4.5 with 1.2 vcore with temperatures in the low 60's using prime. But if I go dual channel mode, temperatures rise by 20-30C, and goes to 80-90C, but it requires 1.25 vcore in order to be stable. Yes, I know the vcore is higher, but if I raised my vcore to 1.25 using single channel mode, the temperatures would be close as if I were still running 1.2vcore, somewhere in the low 60's. Like I said, raising my vcore in single channel does not raise my temperatures as dramatically as in dual channel mode. Another example, right now I am running at 4.8 with 1.37vcore with temperatures in the 70-80 C using prime. I wouldn't even be able to do this in dual channel because temperatures would hit 100C at 4.6 w/ 1.3vcore and eventually underclock.
I have tested both sticks in single channel and get the same overclock results. So, it has to do something with it being in dual channel.

  • Z87 MPOWER MAX - A Hobbyist's Perspective

First impressions are how well built this board really is. PCB is thick and sturdy, heavy duty top to bottom, side to side. The mainboard looks to be able to handle anything that can be tossed at it, but the biggest problem is the heat the CPU generates. That's not the board's fault. Zalman CNPS9900B-Max is used, and it does a great job considering the circumstances.
As with any review, benchmarks and results may not be the same as what others may experience. Graphics cards used are middle of the road, but they did ok. Was too lazy to pull a GTX 680 to test with.

  • Z87 MPower Max error A1

Left PC on a few hours. When I got home Win8 was at the lock screen and 2ndary monitor had shut off. 1Samsung 60LED 2Samsung 50Plasma. I tried to turn it on with my remote but turned both off. When I turned them back on, the PC was rebooting. A1 was displayed on the MB. Windows loading screen said something like "cleaning up" then went to my login screen. A0 is displayed now. I get random resets while using the PC, sometimes while it is idle, sometimes in games or watching youtube videos. Is there a list of trouble shooting codes somewhere? What does A1 mean?
