ZCM 10.3.4 Icons no longer display on Start Menu

Hi,
I am currently developing a ZCM Win7 COE and am creating new Win7 GPOs using the Microsoft Group Policy tools. ZCM bundle icons were displaying on the Star Menu as expected until I enabled the GPO setting to "Hide and disable all items on the desktop". Now the bundle icons no longer show. The agent appears to be running ok and I can see the bundles are still "available" from the agent proper sheets.
Has anyone come accross this problem before and if so how was this resolved.
Thanks in advance,
Mark.

I just installed Lightroom 5. It will not open. I have clicked on the desktop icon as well as the start menu button with no results. What am I missing?

I had the same problem, and I believe it is caused by having the Creative Cloud application doing the updating of LR.  I "fixed" the problem by:
    1. Uninstall Lightroom
    2. Download the stand-alone LR 5.6 installer from Product updates
    3. Install LR 5.6 using the stand-alone installer, instead of using the Creative Cloud application.

  • Mail icon no longer displays unread message count

The mail icon in my dock no longer displays the number of unread messages. Is there a fix for this?

You’ve probably either disabled or removed a font that Mail needs to work properly (e.g. Helvetica):

    Hello,

Any help would be more than appreciated! I am desperate!

Right click the Application icon in the Dock.
Select "Grid" or "Automatic" under "View content as" from the menu that pops up.

  • MP3 icon no longer displays artwork in finder

Yes I know there was an earlier thread with this name but this is a new thread because when I upgraded to iTunes 10.4 the problem came back. When I open a folder of mp3s in Finder old ones have the artwork but new ones do not even though I downloaded the artwork in iTunes. If I copy an mp3 file that has the artwork in the icon and paste it in a new folder in Finder the icon no longer shows the artwork. The artwork appears when I play the songs in iTunes but does not appear in Finder. I can go into an iTunes playlist click Info and click on the Artwork Tab where I have an album cover showing, click on the album cover, click apple-X (cut) then apple-V (paste), then the artwork suddenly appears on the thumbnail in the folder in Finder. Seems to fix it in list view and cover flow view but not in column view.  Running OSX 10.68 What gives?

This is really getting frusturating. I manually add all of my tags and album artwork before adding my music to iTunes. Interesting enough songs that I add to iTunes, their album artowork reappears in finder. If I go to Users/MyUser/Music/iTunes/iTunesMedia/Music/Artist/Album, the icons of the songs will show the album artwork and it will show in quicklook. But, if I drag the mp3 to another folder the album artwork is again not reconized. All third-party software still shows album artowork.
I updated iTunes to 10.4 before upgrading to lion. I think that Apple should at least give us the ability to downgrade to a working version of iTunes, as they have had weeks to fix this widespread issue and have negleted to do so. I would hate to reimage my computer just to get album artowrk back.

  • Edge icon no longer displaying the "E"

After updating to 1.1.2, the Edge icon ceases to display the white, embedded "E".
    FYI

    ElegantMac,
Not exactly. The icon is documented in the updated User's Guide (Manual) which can be downloaded from:
    http://www.apple.com/support/manuals/
    The icon indicates GPRS.
However, a little explanation. Almost every GSM tower supports an older technology for data access called GPRS. In the U.S. nearly all AT&T towers have been updated to EDGE which is speed increase to GPRS. However, GPRS can sometimes be picked up at lower signal strengths than EDGE, and some partner networks may only offer GPRS. In the UK O2 was estimating about 30% of their towers would be upgraded to EDGE by the time the iPhone came out.
Some features like Youtube may not be available on GPRS.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

Hello, on my iPhone 6 and iOS 8.1.1 since 01DEC2014 I see the followi problem:
When updating my apps in the App Store I no longer see the app's icon and all related fotos within the updated app.
The app is updated and works fine.
All apps updated before 01DEC2014 are displayed properly in the App Store.
On my iPad running on iOS 8.1.1 everything is fine, too.
    any ideas

Problem solved. Reason was the usage of app 'weblock' which is to to be used to block ads.
Once I deactivated weblock everything is fine again.

  • Hp6500A E710-f shortcut icon no longer displays all-in-one options windows 7

Had icon on desktop identified as HP Officejet E710-f that when clicked displayed multiple options with link access inlcuding access to scan, status of printer, fax history, cartridge print levels, and several others that I ddin't use often and cannot recall.
I did something, don't know what, and now when I click on icon Iit takes me to printer devices screen on control panel.  Don't know how to get to ink level for print cartridtges and have to use separate icon to get to scan function.  Can someone tell me how to get back previois shortcut response?

I understand you have lost options to check ink levels and to scan. I would uninstall current software and reinstall with updated drivers.
Click here for updated drivers. Select full feature software and driver download.
Let me know how it goes.

  • Airplay icon no longer displays

    iMac 27
    OS X Yosemite
Since upgrading to Yosemite earlier today, the airplay icon has disappeared from iTunes when playing through multiple speakers.
It comes back when I go into system Preferences/sound and then check main speakers but as soon as I select the satellite speakers the icon drops from ITunes and the ability to control volume for each speaker set is lost.
    This needs fixing ASAP

    Hey Hangrygc,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you are having trouble with Airplay with one set of speakers. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.

  • Why ... dock icons no longer display lights below most running apps

and there is no op-tion to quit a running app in right-click dock menu. Dock icons for some of the running apps have lights, but quitting the app from the dock is initially unsuccessful.  Icon either initially, or after quitting the app disiplays 'force qut', which, when clicked, doesn't work, either.  Left-clicking the icon (thats the 3rd click) finaly kills the app and removes the icon from the dock.

Command + Q is the quickest way to quit a running Application. Click its icon in the Dock to give it focus, then press Command Q keys and its gone. No need to mess about with right clicking and selecting.

  • Lost start menu icons and not listed in right click open with option +more.

Weird. I need help. Quicktime 7.3.0.70 only--Start menu lost it's icons in the quicktime folder. When right clicking video files, the "open with" option no longer displays quicktime as a program. And lastly, open an avi file or even mpg and the program stops responding without even getting to play the file. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times but can't seem to fix these issues. Can anyone help? Thanks. This just seemed to happen out of the blue.

I also have lost the icons for Quicktime in my start menu under Windows XP. The icons actually work when you do click them but the icons are not loaded. Everything functions fine and it's the newest version of Quicktime installed. I also have the newest version of iTunes installed. I ended up manually adding my own icons on the start menu as I've uninstalled and reinstalled Quicktime several times to no avail and even attempted to flush the windows icon cache. No go. This just started happening recently.
It's not happening on my WinXP Pro laptop however, although I've yet to upgrade to the latest version of iTunes+Quicktime.
*Right-Click Open With Menu still functions properly and the icon image is appearing correctly in that menu.

  • Firefox does not load up, open up when I click the icon, or when I go to firefox using the start menu.

I downloaded firefox 4 and used it for a few days and then it ceased to open up when I clicked the icon or went through the start menu. I uninstalled and reinstalled it and it still does not open.

Have you tried opening in Safe Mode - Hold down the Shift key as you double click.
Your Ask Toolbar is a known problem.

  • Desktop/Start Menu Icons won't stay away...

Ok, here's my dilemma. I am very meticulous about my desktop Icons and my start menu organization... I keep a quick launch Icon for iTunes, but no start menu or desktop icons... however, since I've upgraded to iTunes 7, every time I restart iTunes it reinstalls the icon and the start menu folder, and I cannot find an option to disable said icons... it's REALLY annoying me, as was the (seemingly) corrected stuttering issue... this is really a disappointing new iTunes upgrade... I'm very surprised that apple would rush out such a shoddy product...I haven't tried syncing my iPod yet, I'm afraid to... I just hope that my new 80 gig will work fine once I get it...

    iBod,
OK, that seems to have done the trick. I had to play around with the grid spacing – there seems to be a setting somewhere just right of the middle of the scale that enables icons to be positioned almost at the L/H edge of the desktop.
Thanks for your help. One of those ultimately unimportant but nonetheless annoying little issues.

  • Frequent list no longer displays icons in Windows 7. Links work ok, though.

Noticed this issue a few days ago with my home laptop. Thought it was a problem with my computer, but this morning I found the same issue with my work PC. Searched the forum and found 2 users are having the same issue. Still no apparent fix. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit at home, 32-bit at work. Links, however, work all right.

I'm having this problem with 2 different computers, both running different editions of Windows 7 (64-bit and 32-bit), and both running different antivirus software (MS Security Essentials and Symantec Small Business Edition respectively). I don't think the problem is the antivirus in this case.
As for the other suggested solutions, the issue is with the "frequent" jump list in the Start menu, not the toolbar. And only with the Firefox jump list. All other jump lists show icons ok. I've also tried resetting the icon cache (IconCache.db), but the problem remains.

  • Time Capsule Icon No Longer Appears on Desktop

Two weeks ago I had AT&T U-verse cable, internet, & phone installed. As part of that installation they installed an AT&T router/wireless combination. The ethernet cable that was previously connected to Time Capsule is now connected to the AT&T device. There is no longer any ethernet connection to Time Capsule. The Time Capsule icon still appeared on my desktop and I manually performed back-ups from my Windows applications to Time Capsule. Time Capsule went from displaying a constant green light to displaying a flashing yellow light. That worked for several days. After about a week of that there appeared on my screen a 'wizard' of some sort recognizing the status of Time Capsule. It said this 'wizard' would eliminate the flashing yellow light. I followed the steps through the 'wizard' and at one point the flashing yellow light turned to constant green. There were a few more steps in the 'wizard' and when it was finished the flashing yellow light reappeared. The next time I tried saving files from Windows I could not connect to my w: drive, and the Time Capsule icon no longer appeared on my Mac desktop. I went into Airport Utilities and there is a box checked that should display the icon properly. Any ideas what's happening? How do I restore Time Capsule so I can back-up my files. Thank you.

    Welcome to the discussions!
I don't have 10.6.1 yet, but have noticed this happens very occasionally on my MacBook Pro, but not on my iMac. Simply resetting Time Machine on my laptop has done the trick.
    Open System Preferences
    Click on Time Machine
Click your Time Capsule to highlight it
    Click Use for Backups
If that does not do it then delete the "com.apple.TimeMachine.plist" file. It's located as follows:
Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences
    Restart your computer
Then perform the same steps as above to setup Time Machine again.
The resets will not affect any of your backups.
