ZCM 11 Remote Management Policy Failed after Patch 2
Upgraded to Cumulative Agent Patch 2 on ZCM 11 and now my remote management policy fails. It keeps stating that it "Could not find a results file for remote management policy...."
Is anyone else having this issue?
Dpogue,
This is being worked on, it's not related to the agent update as far as
we know - TID 7006354 has some details.

Hi we're having an issue ever since our Windows Server 2008 ZCM server was updated from 11.1 to 11.2.
It looks like the remote management policy that we typically use no longer is effective.
The original policy was setup in a way that you did not have to require users consent to remote the machine. Now it does. When I do a properties on the agent in the remote management policy section, it shows up as recognizing only the default.
Any ideas?sflegnc,

Schema entry for Remote Management Policy
Does anybody know the schema entry for Remote Management Policy in a user
object? Specifically the entry that says "Use These Settings and Ignore
Remote Management Policy"?
Thanks!

Good evening
Running a freshly installed 11/06 build of solaris 10 x86, I don't have any issues with smc. Immediately after patching, installing all recommended patches, smc so longer starts up.

I'm guessing that something got horked up during patching, however, I'm not really sure which one(s) might have done so. Anyone have any ideas?
-MattI'm more familiar with the similarly-named Sun Management Center, but I think this may be a Java compatibility issue: possibly the patched version requires a later version of java. It would help to know which version's in your environment (java -version).

Non priviledged commands fail after patch cluster install
For several years, to allow users to access system functions for higher clock resolutions in their
applications, we have made the following mods to two files (per Sun recommendations):
In the /etc/system file, add lines:
* 10 ms clock resolution*
set higher_tick = 1*
In /etc/user_attr, add:
dssuser::::type=normal;defaultpriv=proc_clock_highres,file_link_any,proc_info,proc_session,proc_fork,proc_exec
Everything was fine until I installed the latest patch cluster (from 2-14-2011) on our Netra 210. No issues installing the cluster. Upon reboot, the dssuser cannot do some simple things, like use ftp or ping. Messages like this:
ping: unknown host
ftp: socket: Permission denied.
The root user has no problems using any of these commands. As soon as I comment out the dssuser line from the /etc/user_attr file, everything works as expected. But we need the highres clock settings for our applications. I am unfamiliar with the workings and intent of the entries in user_attr so any help would be most appreciated.
MarkThe problem is that after patch implementation, the special privileges for any user defined in the /etc/user_attr file were modified to append the string "!net_privaddr" specifically denying use of common commands ping and ftp for example. The output of ppriv:
$ ppriv $$
14870: -sh
flags = <none>
E: basic,proc_clock_highres,!net_privaddr
I: basic,proc_clock_highres,!net_privaddr
P: basic,proc_clock_highres,!net_privaddr
L: all
I had to add the keyword net_privaddr in the user_attr file like:
dssuser::::type=normal;defaultpriv=proc_clock_highres,file_link_any,proc_info,proc_session,proc_fork,proc_exec,net_privaddr
to get past this problem. A bug or what? -
Management Point fails after installing SCCM 2012 SP1
I'm carrying out an install of SCCM 2012 SP1 with the following hardware (fresh install not an upgrade from 2007)

I've tried uninstalling MP and reinstalling, triple checked all the right pre-reqs in Roles and Features are enabled, even rebuilt the server from scratch and tried again but same result.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

AIA Deployment Failed After Patching
Hi Oracle Community,
We have a AIA purchase order interface. The interface itself has about 8 composites. We have been successfully using the following process to deploy the interface for the past 12 months:
ant -f $AIA_HOME/Infrastructure/Install/AID/AIAInstallDriver.xml -DDeploymentPlan=$AIA_HOME/deploy/purchaseorder/PurchaseOrderInterfaceDP.xml -DPropertiesFile=$AIA_HOME/aia_instances/<instance_name>/config/AIAInstallProperties.xml
However, we have recently applied patch 'AIA 11.1.1.6 Rollup Patch 5 – Patch 17423167' to our Weblogic 11.1.1.6 environment. Since then we get the error below when attempting to deploy this AIA interface.
BUILD FAILED
/oracle/product/Middleware/AIA/Infrastructure/Install/AID/AIAExecuteDriver.xml:118: The following error occurred while executing this line:
/oracle/product/Middleware/AIA/Infrastructure/Install/AID/AIAExecuteDriver.xml:65: The following error occurred while executing this line:
/oracle/product/Middleware/AIA/aia_instances/AIA_TEST/tmp/AIDExecuteDP_temp_1308451709.xml:4: Unknown attribute [partition]
Note that we are unable to deploy any of our AIA interfaces using this method since patching.
Has anyone come across this problem?
HoangAfter further investigations, we removed the partition reference from the deployment script thereby deploying to the default partition and deployment was successful.
I passed this knowledge onto sysadmins and a partition configuration step was missed. After configuration, deployment worked successfully as per prepatching.

Concurrent Manager not starting after patching/ cloning
Hi,
We have an issue where after cloning and/or patching an environment the concurrent manager doesn't start. Our steps to resolve this problem have thus far been as follows:
1. Apply 3830807
2. Run autoconfig
3. Run cmclean.sql on environment
4. Check the libc* files in 8.0.6 ORACLE_HOME/lib/stubs
We had an instance after a patch was applied where the conc mgr did not start and we applied all of the above, in that order. No success. We then decided to apply the 3830807 patch again and run autoconfig- basically re- run steps 1 and 2. Success. In another instance, running the cmclean.sql resolved the error. In some instances, simply shutting down the application and DB and restarting will be enough.
Our problem is that the resolution to this error always seems random. What may work in one instance almost never works in another. Additionally, the problem has started since we've applied ATG RUP 6 to our LIVE environment and our clones. Coincidence?
We have logged an SR but I feel like we're being spun in circles- I'm not getting a direct answer or resolution path from them.
If someone could provide some guidance on a proper resolution path for this conc mgr issue I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks,
Lia.Basically the approach we're now taking (and that's working) is that after applying a patch, or set of patches, we apply patch 3830807 and then run autoconfig on the db and apps tier. We then shut down the application (if not already down) and the database and then bring everything back up.
Thanks to all for their assistance.

[Forum FAQ] Management Point fails after installing SCCM 2012 SP1
Symptom:
The Management Point might fail to be installed after you install SCCM 2012 sp1 on Windows Server 2012, either fresh install or others.
You might see some errors in mpMSI.log like listed below.
“Setup was unable to compile the file CcmExec_Global.mof”
“The error code is 80041002”
Cause:
Reinstall Management Point cannot work. This is because CCM Namespace remains in WMI which prevents SCCM from installing MP. You need clear CCM Namespace from WMI.
Resolution:
1. Uninstall Management Point from the console, then wait for the uninstallation to finish in MPSetup.log.
2. Open Wbemtest -> Connect to root -> Click Enum Classes and choose Recursive -> Double click _NAMESPACE in Query Result dialog -> Click Instances -> Delete _NAMESPACE.Name=”ccm”
3. Install Management Point.

Import Policy fails after Universal Password enabled
I apologize if this got posted twice but I cannot see my first posting.
My problem is as described in the TID below:
http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/se...?/10089544.htm
My NMAS version meets the criteria as stated in the TID.
We are running NetWare 6 SP5 with ZFD4.1 and after configuring the
Universal Password Policy on the container that ZFD objects are
configured, we get the import error as indicated in the TID.
Any work arounds other than upgrading to ZFD7 and/or OES?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Admin password fails after patch and reboot.
Hi,
Is there a way to resolve the issue of the admin password after applying a patch 117667-06 and rebooting the system.
Both the Sun One Administration Server 5.2 and Sun ONE Directory Server 5.2 services are running in Services.
I was able to login to the Server console prior to the patch, and to install the patch which requires the mentioned password.
Cannot connect to Admin Server 'http://servername:20000". The URL is incorrect or the server is not responding."
Thanks.Can you please share what the solution was? Might be useful to other readers in the future.

RPC Remote calls fail after loading sibling.
Hi All,
Main loads an app compiled in 3.2. Cannot recompile legacy SWF with version of Main.
Main and Client are on the same domain. Debugging on localhost.
Sibling has RemoteObject code but never makes RemoteObject calls.
Main apps remote calls start failing after sibling is loaded.
TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert
mx.messaging.messages::AcknowledgeMessage@c7ab831 to mx.messaging.messages.IMessage.
<mx:SWFLoader id="swfLoader"
loadForCompatibility="true"
trustContent="false"
width="100%" height="100%"
source="ClientGuiApp3-2.swf?fredOn=false"
complete="swfComplete();"
creationComplete="initNestedAppProps();"/>
What I have done to try to fix it.
trustContent = "False" to put it in its own security domain.
I thought loadForCompatability good enough to make them use their own class definitions?
Document I found says RPC special case for multiversion Sandbox or Bootstrap.
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Flex/4.0/html/WS2db454920e96a9e51e63e3d11c0bf69084-7f0c.html
loadForCompatibiity means sandboxing or new security domain for the sibling?
Thanks in advance,
Kevin1. Remove the WinrmIIS Extension from "Programs and Features"
2. Reboot the server
3. Execute the cmd "winrm quickconfig". This adds an exception for the remote management in the Windows firewall.
4. Install "Winrm IIS extension
5. Try open Exchange Management Console
Let me know what happens :)
Thanks for your guide;
"WinRM IIS Extension" is not installed.and firewall is off.
When I open up the Exchange Management Console ,after these message :
<Initializing ...
Setting up Remote Powershell session to: ServerName.MyDomain.net ...>
I'm seeing these errors:
<The following error occurred when setting up Remote Powershell session to 'ServerName.MyDomain.net':
Closing remote server shell instance failed with the following error message : The WinRM client cannot complete the operation within the time specified. Check if the machine name is valid and is reachable over the network and firewall exception for Windows Remote Management service is enabled. For more information, see the about Remote Troubleshooting Help topic. >
also When I open up the Exchange Management Shell,After several hours the below message remain:

Remote Management service does not start
Has Novell got a fix for the issue where the Remote Management services
fails to start automatically on XP workstations? As we upgrade our clients
to XP, this has become a major headache. The service can be started
manually, and then the Remote Control feature of ZFD will work, providing
the firewall is disabled.Workaround is to create a batch file and put in the command:
net start "remote management"
Create a shortcut to this batch file and put it in the startup group of
All Users in the "document and settings".
