ZCover cases (review with pics)

I received my zCover nano cases today. Initial impression. Not perfect by any means. C+.
First the basics...
You get two cases with your order ($24.95). One with an open bottom and one with a lanyard and flip bottom with headphone access. You also get a hard plastic screen cover which slips in behind the silicone case making a nice snug fit.

Screen coverage...
This is the best part. It's a hard plastic piece with little feet that raises it above the screen ever so slightly. I assume the feet are to prevent rubbing and thus scratching the screen as much. Very durable with a sharp and clear view of the screen. There is no distortion at all.

Material...
This is where the problems start. It's very very rubbery. I know... it's silicone... duh. In certain circumstances your nano might bounce if dropped (a little levity never hurts). I think the material is a little too thick. Although my two cases seem to be slightly different in thickness from one another. Perhaps a quality control issue? One operates much easier than the other (more on that subject later). I chose the black one. It seems to attract lint a bit. Not horribly but there are a few fuzzy white things living on the case that need to brushed off quite regularly. Perhaps other colors would be more friendly in the lint department.
Operation of nano with case...
Hold button. Okay, this is the biggest problem. The hold button on top is covered completely. It was impossible to move it on the one case so I had to cut a hole in the top to access it. On the other case it was possible to move but very difficult. I have long nails and struggled every time to move it. I can't imagine anyone without nails being able to move it without cutting a hole in the top.
Click wheel movement. Same problem. The silicone is not noticeably thinner over the wheel. You have to press much harder than normal to make it function. It does work though. Once again the one case was much easier to work than the other but still slightly harder than a naked nano.

Conclusions...
If you are looking for something that is available now and completely covers every inch of your nano this case does meet those qualifications. This will not be my everyday case. I'd use this case if doing something grubby outside. Hiking, gardening, car repair, etc. It's well protected. It would not slide off many surfaces and has grips on the sides. The lanyard is iffy. It looks like a long shoelace. I'm wondering how long it would take to break off of it's connection to the case. It only has a tiny string attaching it to a rubber loop which is part of the case itself. I would feel the need to reinforce it's connection before freely using it.

You have to do a full restore to your device to get things from iCloud. You can't pick and choose.
In addition, from what I've read, you can't get anything back to the camera roll, if that's where you stored some of your files. The camera roll is temporary storage untill you sync photos and videos to your computer. If you used Photo Stream, then iCloud syncs new pictures from your iPhone to all other devices that are set to sync Photo Stream. But there's a limit to how many pictures per month (I think 1000) and iCloud saves photos for 30 days, so the other devices have time to sync to get the photos. But there's no way to get them out of iCloud in Photo Stream in case you lost all the pictures on your devices.

Communication Error with PIC µC through RS232.

Hello Friends.
I am getting continuous communication error with PIC µC reading through RS 232. Our µC programmed by external company and according to Communication protocol. µC sends 11 data packets in 43 ms and then delay on 50 sec. Actually Original labview code is developed in LabView 7.0 and now I am trying to update new installer to LabVIEW 9.0. I am attaching my LabView communication VI and capture data. If you see in the ComSerial.Vi, you can find when 8000! case is detected only that time 3 value sent to µc. In µc there is a Protocol, that when it receive 3 wrong packet (or damage packet) out of 10 then it send Error code 07 means communication error. Can you please take a look in to this ComSerial.vi and suggest me some Solution. I already spend more then 10 days to just figure it out.

I would suggest to start with the examples for the serial communication with LabVIEW and then built on them further. This way you will be sure about your code and then also for your communication and afterwards you can implement the further logic. Try those vis and see if your recieving the right data or not if not may be there is problem on hardware side!!

Now for this problem, Fuzzy can be easily used to control the plant. Here is the softwares that would help in this task:
- LabVIEW Full Development System (FDS) 2009 or later - The is the LV version that allow you accessing the latest Fuzzy Logic develoment
- LabVIEW PID and Fuzzy Logic Toolkit 2009 - This has PID and Fuzzy Logic functions available for you to develop your controller
- LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Module 2009 - This is a complete set of functions that allow you to simulate and develop advanced control applications. In your case, you probably will be using this module for simulation of the DC motor.
Now, you also will need a way to read the encoder and control the voltage applied to the motor. You have several options from NI for that process. Probably a multi-function Board could help since they have digital counters and Analog Output signals. However, I can't recommend what would be best for this application, but the ideal platform is the CompactRIO platform for your application. They have a Real-Time controller and integrated Input/Output modules with signal conditioning that could allow you to directly drive the DC motor. I would advice to go to our webside (http://www.ni.com/compactrio/) and verify what this platform does. For this platform, you will also need the following sofrware:
- LabVIEW Real-Time Module 2009 - Allow you to develop you application in Real-Time for deployment.

Is there a way to create a custom screensaver with pics/slides that display for different amounts of time? Or even add a "video slide" into the screensaver?
My business has 3 TVs displayed in our lobby, each with its own apple TV and they are all linked to the same photo stream. Currently the Atv screensaver displays the photostream pictures of our products for the default 3 seconds. We just added pics/slides that now display messages and useful info for our customers but I want that info to be displayed for a longer period of time than the pictures to give people a chance to read it.
I tried using flickr and powerpoint as a work around but no luck. I created a slide in powerpoint with play length of 15 secs and saved it as a wmv file. I added that file to a "screensaver" set in flickr and pointed the Atv screensaver to that flickr set. It still displays everything, pics and the wmv file at the default 3 sec.
I know I can increase the duration of all pics in the screensaver to display for longer but the goal is to have the pics display at 3 secs and the info slides to display at 15 secs.

Buy an external USB hard drive and copy your data to it. Either that or burn them all to single or double layer DVDs (depending on amount of data you have). Or if it's really a small amount, consider putting it all on a USB memory stick.

Acrobat "Send for Shared Review" - Reviewing with Adobe Reader?

I am experimenting with Acrobat's collaboration function and I think I am almost there...
1) I built a webDAV server
2) Authenticated the document with the webDAV server.
3) Tested making edits to the document locally... in both Acrobat and Reader (I had to Save As Other the PDF as a Reader Extended Document)
4) Now, I think I have one last hurdle to overcome.
When another user received the test file, I was dismayed that PDF asked the user for the webDAV user name and password. Why? This security information should be stored in the document. It should automatically log into the webDAV server.
Anyhow, once the login information was provided, the reviewer can successfully enter comments into the document. So... sort of success. :]
I just need to solve that login problem because I can't be giving out the user name and password to the webDAV server.
Any ideas?

Case structure with more than 200 cases, slower lab view app

Problem Description :
i am currently making a vi which compose of a simple case structures, a case structure with more than 200 cases, what i noticed is that the more i added cases the slower the labview reacts, it takes time for me to route wire on each of the cases.
i dont know if there are any setting in the labview environment that i can increase the buffer size? i dont know... but its getting slow (only on the

Can you clarify what you mean by "slow". Does it run more slowly or does it feel sluggish during editing?
Could you attach the actual VI?
Overall, I agree with the notion of local variable overuse. For example, you read the same local variable twice in the same case. Is there a need for this? Is there a chance that it varies between the two reads? Typically, you would place the terminal in front of the case structure and wire to all the locations where you need the value. This ensures that the data is consistent. Still, this should not cause any slowdown problem.
(On a sidenote, the code in the upper left corner is inefficient. You convert the same data to lower case with each iteration, so you might want to place this before the loop and do it only once (well, if you are lucky, LabVIEW will fold the operation, but still....). Also your "index array" operation can be replaced by autoidenxing of the 2D array on the outer loop boundary.)

Lightning docks and what cases works with them!

Being racking my brain for couple weeks now and trying to find info and get hope from people on various mac forums but to no avail, so thought I would ask on here
I currently have an old 30 pin connector dock with the lightning adaptor on it so I can play my iphone 5 on it, now as you probably know, when the iphone 5 is docked , if it had no case on it whatsoever it will not reach because it seems the connector is too small which IMO is a massive oversight
So to solve it I bought the speck flip case which if you haven't seen it flips up at the bottom so it docks easily.
Is there anything anyone recommend? I really fancy one of the new iPhone 5s cases to fit my iPhone 5 but as I have seen if I want to dock it I have to remove the case which is a real pain!
I'm also looking at a new lightning dock, is there one anyone recommend? Can you get one where the lightning adaptor on the dock itself is a bit longer so it docks with a case on? Or am I going to have to resign that no case, mostly notably the 5s case docks with the case on?

You should be able to 'see' the BlackBerry memory in the Meida Manager, and you can transfer small files to the Content Store on the BlackBerry using the Media Manager. Just remember that you are using the base memory on the BlackBerry for media files and you shouldn't get too crazy with files transferred to it.
Try installing v4.2 Service Pack 2 and using the Media Manager and seeing if the BlackBerry device memory option shows up at the bottom of the screen. When you open the memory you should see some file folders and you should store the files directly into the file folder appropriate to the media, and not use folders inside the original folder so the BB will 'see' the files when you use your Profile options to select ringtones or background photos.

I am having a scenario like :
Column 1: BrokerList(dimension1)
Column 2 : Broker(dimension2)
Column 3 : Metric value(measure)
so i am having a case when (dimension 3) Custodian = 'ss' then sum(metirc) group by dimension1,dimension2 but the result value is not matching

Here the metric is based on other case condition.. so the total value is not matching.. Is there any other way to do a case function with group by funtions. Please advise.

Use filter on metric by ss value and then go for group by from Criteria

IPod on iPhone is case sensitive with bandnames, iTunes is not

The iPod application on the iPhone (software version 3.1) is case sensitive with bandnames, iTunes (9.0.1) is not.
iPod on iPhone shows the bands
"Guns n' Roses"
and
"Guns N' Roses"
as separate bands.
iTunes manages them as one band.

Both the root file-system and the /var file-system on the iPhone are case sensitive.
I have no idea why. Curious thing for Apple to do.
Must be a unix hacker there. They love case sensitive filesystems
This is likely a cause of the problem.
Best just to rename the offending artist and album fields.
You can sort & filter them in iTunes and change a whole whack of them at once.
